Very fun and entertaining

This is my favourite C-Drama that I have seen so far, it's fairly immature and not for all audiences. If you're looking for a romance drama, this one is probably not for you, however, I believe it is still worth watching. The characters are very cute, it's a light watch and the ending for the second season made me fairly emotional. The music is also very nice, I listen to the soundtrack whenever I'm feeling bored. This show mainly focuses on romance and comedy. This show is very innocent and the female lead/main character is a very fun character. She is dramatic and she has a wild imagination which makes the show more interesting and includes a lot of variety.

Final thoughts (TLDR;):
- Not romance centred
- Good for all audiences (however, it feels like it might be more for younger audiences)
- Very cute
- Fun main character
- Slice of Life/light watch
- Worth watching!!

Pretty good

Overall: This was the first C-drama I watched due to the positive ratings. It has been a while since I watched the show so my memory might not be as fresh. The show is very cute and comfortable to watch, a nice cliche. I did have a few issues with it though. I recommend watching it if you want a light drama.

Story:

The story is very typical, not very unique love triangle. There's nothing wrong with it being a cliche either. However, there are certain parts of the show that I feel were underwhelming or underplayed that could have enhanced the overall watching experience. For instance, FL is shown to be a gifted artist at the beginning and during random parts of the show. I think that her being an artist really doesn't have much effect to the plot because they barely showed her doing anything artistic - she only used her artistic skill whenever it was convenient or to make certain plot points work (like with the graduating thing). To fix this, they could have made art a more prominent aspect of her life and show maybe her peers looking down on her because they don't believe art is a viable career, etc. This way, we can feel more of an association between FL and her artistic talents. Another issue I had was that the reason FL started liking ML made little sense to me so I didn't feel much regarding their relation to one another. The characters didn't really develop that much, though, ML did change a noticeable amount as he grew older but honestly I would have preferred if he stayed the same. I didn't really like the way ML behaved as an adult, he changed completely from what we thought we knew about him and became worse (in my opinion). I felt sad for SML a few times because he really sacrificed a lot for FL and didn't really get anywhere with that. There are a lot of misunderstandings and miscommunication between FL and ML that could have been easily avoided. I don't mind dragged on misunderstandings but I also don't appreciate a misunderstanding that drags on for a couple of years without the show SHOWing us the implications/side effects it had on the characters. The show instead just did a " _ years later" then gave a half baked explanation of how the characters felt at the time. Also, ML and FL's relationship was kind of mundane and the show didn't really give us a reason to admire their relationship or to think it's cute or ideal or anything like that, it was just "ok they're dating I guess" vibes. There are a lot more things but honestly I don't want to get too into it because these are pretty much just problems I had and you might not mind these things so don't let this deter you too much,

Acting/Cast:

I think everyone's performance was phenomenal but I didn't really know about Hu YiTian because his character is just cold, pokerface which made me a little bored because even his smile looked neutral ? (although it probably isn't the actor's fault since he's playing a pokerfaced character).

Music:

The intro song is nice but the rest of the music is just okay, I also forgot about the rest of the music so I can't say much else.

Rewatch Value:

Well I guess it could be fun to see how ML changed but honestly that's it. It's a very simple plot (nothing wrong with that) which isn't worth rewatching since it's a still considerably long show. With shows like these, there really isn't much after it's over because it ended pretty nicely, IMO it's not a completely full and satisfying ending but it's alright.

TLDR;
- Some plotpoints weren't used to their full potential
- Not much character development apart from the leads
- I like you, you'll know it, is a great song
- Certain plots were glanced over
- Poorly executed misunderstandings/easily solvable misunderstandings that for some reason weren't resolved sooner
- Cute show
- Light watch
- I recommend you watch it

I don't recommend wasting your time on this show...

Overall: I didn't like this show. It's very typical without any creative elements, the characters are not well written, the dialogue is awkward, the story isn't clear and the show is farfetched. I watched the show because people said it was similar to "The Big Boss" (a C-drama that I enjoyed), however, it really isn't that similar. Out of the few shows I watched, this was my least favourite. It's a poorly done enemies to lover drama. The atmosphere of the show feels very off, sometimes I felt unsettled and uncomfortable. The settings are alright, nothing special but I couldn't help but feel the school should have looked a lot different. Despite having luxurious, large exteriors, we only get to see three or four rooms that are constantly being reused. I genuinely couldn't finish watching the show.

Specifics:

Story:
The story doesn't really make sense/is not very realistic. I understand dramas do not have to be realistic but at this point, the drama is just unwatchable. The ML's mother acts very strangely and I can't imagine anybody acting that way. The FL isn't very likeable which is usually a make or break for me. The ML starts showing that he likes FL a little too early on and without proper reason (no room for character development). Plot-wise, it's basically a jerk popular kid who bullies the poor kid until they magically fall in love. The ML has no reason to be as omnipotent as the show makes him out to, they treat him like a god for no purpose. I mainly dislike how the characters "develop". The characters don't really develop, they don't become better or worse personality-wise, however, they will do things very out of character. You cannot exactly pinpoint what kind of character the leads are because they go against what we were led to believe at the beginning of the show. The FL is naive and she ruins other people's lives instead of doing what she thinks is fixing which might be irritating for you (it was irritating for me). There is also an aspect of the show that is easy to forget and seems completely irrelevant to the plot thus far (almost halfway through the show); they kind of just randomly add in how the ML is allergic to kissing women or something like that (not well developed or explained so I'm not sure) at the beginning of the first episode. The story also takes place in a military school but the students really don't do anything related to that, it was only an important part of the leads meeting but then after the leads meet, that plotpoint was somewhat forgotten. The story, plot and characters are poorly paced.

Acting/Cast:
They're okay. There is no connection between any of the characters at all. What's worse is that they wait too long between dialogue before responding which makes it hard to watch and awkward. The leads seem to feel indifferent to each other. I didn't feel any hate, love, friendship, rivalry... nothing! I think this is a mic problem but I could hear them breathing very loudly-especially the ML at certain scenes. That made me very uncomfortable and irritated.

Music:
Not great...I can't say much about it because I didn't hear that much but from what I did hear, it's not very enjoyable.

Rewatch value:
It's so stereotypical I see no reason for you to rewatch it. The show doesn't really include any clever foreshadows or easter eggs that would make the rewatching experience satisfying.

TLDR/summary:
- Bland
- Boring
- Unrealistic
- Characters are poorly developed
- Hard to watch
- Awkward
- Characters show no chemistry
- Poorly paced
- Inconsistent plot/settings
- Poor atmosphere

Pretty good, I recommend it

MINOR SPOILERS

Overall: I liked this show! It did frustrate me at times at how naive the characters were and some characters REALLY got on my nerves (COUGH HUANG JUN COUGH)... and let's get to certain things that I had issues with!

Story:

Typical story with enjoyable comedy. FL is one of those characters who isn't really quick witted and can't respond quickly when faced with a problem which creates even more misunderstandings that never exactly get completely cleared. I liked how there was a reason that ML liked FL but I would have preferred a more clear reason for FL liking ML (there is a reason, it just isn't as clearly shown as I would like it to be). I think Huang Jun is a fairly realistic/unrealistic person at the same time but he's a very interesting character. HE ANNOYS ME...but I do have to appreciate how nuanced he is. ML hurt me the most honestly, ML is a very funny, typical tsundere character but sadly he became very annoying when he grew up. There's a certain part of the show that isn't really addressed or clear whereas FL potentially got taken advantage of by ML? I mean she woke up and her clothes were not there anymore right after an... interesting scene. That's very upsetting to me AND ON TOP OF THAT ML is just very irritating when he comes back after being abroad (the audacity of these MLs istg). I felt so much second hand embarrassment I had to skip a lot of scenes which is more of a personal issue I suppose but if you also dislike second hand embarrassment then you should skip scenes too. I liked how I wasn't able to tell who ML and who SML was though, I was very confused until SML got a girlfriend. A part of me feels like FL and ML are better as friends because their platonic friendship was very cute but in dramas, a man can't be friends with a woman unless one of them has a significant other ?. We barely get to see anything school related after they graduate unless it has something to do with romance. I think certain plot points were half baked like when SML (forgot his name oops) witnesses someone get hit by a car and misses his entrance exam. The show never really addresses it ever again, I think it would have added more nuance and made the plot more interesting. For example, they could have maybe made SML more aware of roads whenever his friends cross because he's scared they will get hit. It's not really an important detail to add but it would add more depth to SML's character and would make the plotpoint have more significance rather than just a sloppy, lazy, sad excuse of an empty plot point (a minor inconvenience used only to affect a certain part of the main plot). There is more I could get in depth with but I'll stop there.

Acting/Cast:

Yeah, they're pretty good.

Music:

The music isn't very memorable, I like the song FL sang at the competition but they keep reusing that one song and it's not even an original song.

TLDR;
- Underplayed plots
- Typical romance
- ML might have taken advantage of FL but once again, I'm not sure
- ML gets annoying
- Some characters are well developed, some could have been better
- The ending wasn't really satisfying because at that point, I kind of disliked ML
- I'd recommend this show
