Ok mini-show in a game-setting

This is an ok mini-show. The storyline that tells a story about a woman who enters a game and has to complete her mission(s) in order to escape, isn’t exactly new but it is fairly interesting. Only problem is that the format with very short episodes and some plot holes makes it feel rushed and low budget (and not in the good way).
Character wise: FL is a bit too childish especially in the first 4-5 episodes before improving. ML is actually kind of cute but it is unrealistic for him to start liking someone who treated him like that.
Acting wise there is room for improvement even if it wasn’t that bad. The chemistry between the main leads is ok but not that good. Perhaps because of the rush.
Anyway, if you have some time to waste and like the game-setting, this is an ok watch.

I haven't had such a laugh in a while.

This is such a sweet and funny mini-show with a dash of drama. The storyline is somewhat similar to season 1 but otherwise this is a new story with other issues and not a sequel.
ML is so handsome and adorable. It is really nice to see Lin Feng Song in the main role since he most of the time plays a supporting role. I hope he gets more main roles in the future because he is a great actor.
FL is cute but a bit too silly for me - at least in the first half. Not that it ruins the show but I am kind of bored with these socalled innocent, dumb and cute FLs. What’s wrong with a more “normal” FL? Sissi Bao Chen Xi does a good job but is directed to be too perky.
MLs assistant “Chu He” is hilarious. Thinking he is a good matchmaker but keeps interrupting them, LOL.
Anyway, if you want something funny, sweet and entertaining, this is well worth watching.

Lean back and enjoy the ride

This is one of these hidden gems I sometimes come across unknowingly. The show is funny yet exciting. The “rooster-incident” in episode 2 was hilarious. In fact it’s packed with funny scenes that are so enjoyable. The game-part is the best I’ve seen so far and I have actually seen my fair share. You are constantly reminded that this is a game, with menus, options, missions, tasks and game pausing - and of course the game master Jack (wonderful character). Even the (happy) ending perfectly fits this marvelous virtual world and its characters.
FL is not the usual dumb and innocent girl that’s supposed to be cute but she is a bit of a disaster-magnet, LOL. I love that she gradually becomes a strong and independent woman who won’t accept the gamerules since they don’t allow her to choose her own path. Her fight for her to pursue her own love story is touching and shows a great character development on her part. Being in love with a NPC (game character) isn’t easy at all. I just love her to pieces.
2FL is also a very strong character that has so many good trades that you really cannot hate her wholeheartedly. Her fights with FL are both fun and fierce but she is not anywhere near evil as so many 2FLs are in these shows.
Both FLs are great actresses that really know how to convey to us the feelings and inner turmoil they have. Actually all the important actors/actresses are great.
ML is (for me) a bit problematic since he is made to be somewhat weak (supposedly introvert) but then again not since he is a great warrior. It is sometimes hard to read his facial expressions, especially in the first half of the show. He is an experienced actor so I guess it’s the directing that isn’t quite there (for me at least).
Besides the funny parts there is also an exciting and very entertaining plot in the game where FL has her mission to achieve in order to wake up in reality. When her mission collides with her feelings, we see various sub plots and lots of twists and turns. I for one had my eyes glued to the screen - loving every moment of it. OMG it’s good.
If I were to find something I would change it would be that there is a little too much about makeup. I know it’s the foundation of the story and the mission, but it was a little bit boring. Maybe because I'm not interested in makeup and therefore never use it. Other than that I wouldn’t change a thing.
So, if you love a great story with lots of twists and turns - and not one but two great love stories - this is a “Must Watch”.

Lighthearted version of "KinnPorsche"

This is a wonderful BL show with an interesting storyline revolving around a mafia boss.
I know a lot of BL viewers compare this show to “KinnPorsche” but you really shouldn’t - or at least see this show as a lighthearted version (less violent and less steamy intimate scenes). Even if there are certain similarities, the dynamic between the leads is quite different.
Acting wise: Yoon is normally this sweet guy that seems unable to hurt anyone so I was eagerly awaiting his performance. Would he be able to pull off the role as a mafia boss? I think he actually did a fine job since the atmosphere in the show is not so heavy/tough.
Character wise: I like the way they at first talk like they are in the east and the west - Kim wanting Kamol to forget the one-night-stand and Kamol wanting Kim to move in with him - it is like two worlds colliding. It’s downright hilarious. Slowly we see how they become closer and both learn to trust the other. Who would have thought the one-night-stand would be so life altering for the two of them? Their love story is so wonderful to watch and also quite realistic if you only consider the feelings and ignore the setting. Not everybody falls in love at first sight.
Well, if you love a good romantic BL with a bit of excitement, this is a “Must Watch”.

Lighthearted and sweet romantic comedy with a decent amount of drama

This is a wonderful show. There is a lot of the usual stuff happening and not really anything new but it is entertaining and sweet.
Character wise: I admit I actually loved young master Su even if his family was behind the Xie family’s fall. He is just so young, naive and adorable - and very, very cute, LOL. He is genuinely trying to help FL both out of love for her and also out of guilt because he knows his family and forced fiancé is behind a lot of her problems. My heart was hurting so much because of all the things he had to go through - I don’t remember feeling more sorry for any other side character I’ve ever seen. It’s the first time I have ever cried on behalf of a character that’s categorized as a villain - although I don’t see him as that. He really didn’t know what his uncle did and I really hate the idea that what your family does is also your responsibility - it’s an ancient way to look at life. I respect FL for recognising that, while keeping her distance to him since she doesn’t want to give him false hope. I loved the way he got to redeem himself (on behalf of his family).
Story wise: The story does get a bit draggy in the middle since the education of FL (at the Yun Jin Manor) is somewhat boring even if it is important in the sense of us seeing her become more and more skilled in the span of the 2 years she spends there. Afterwards there is a lot of business stuff that gets a bit draggy because the rivalry between FL and Yan Wen Xiu becomes quite repetitive - and I tend to lose interest in these things quickly. It’s not that the rivalry is irrelevant, it just gets boring to keep watching Wen Xiu lashing out at FL because of jealousy/inferiority and how she always gets away with doing evil - at least until the ending where everything is wrapped up and the evildoers punished.
Anyway the show picks up around episode 17-18 where it gets more exciting. I still think the competition gets too much screen time but they apparently wanted 40 episodes so they had to have something filling the episodes. That is why I cannot rate it 10/10 (sorry).
Acting wise: Young master Xie, who is actually the eldest daughter in the Xie family, is the best actress I have seen to pull off looking and acting like a man. Usually you will spot it in just a glance but here it took me a couple of seconds to be certain.
I love that there isn’t the usual “female childhood friend/fiancé” pestering ML most of the show. Those characters are the ones I hate the most. MG they don’t know when to stop.
I also love FLs friends (Yuan Xiang and Cheng Tian) who are truly friends without any alternative motives or grudges.
Another thing I would like to stress is the incredible beautiful clothes especially Prince Luo wears but overall the clothes are so much higher in quality than many other shows.
All actors in this show, show off their amazing skills and you can’t help getting invested in them all - even the villains.
So, if you love a somewhat lighthearted romantic comedy with a decent amount of drama - and very skilled actors - this is a “Must Watch”.

Wonderful contractual marriage mini-show with lots of sweetness.

This is a wonderful mini-show. Maybe the storyline isn’t all that new but there are some things I really appreciate. It’s very lighthearted and there isn’t any angst in this - which is exactly what I needed. It does feel a bit rushed but there aren't any major jumps in the story.
Character wise we have a FL that is about to marry a guy but sees him cheating on her. ML steps in without a warning and offers to marry her instead. Since both need to marry someone this is a win-win situation. I like that FL isn’t a designer/artist. We have seen way too many of these. The angle of her being in a rival company was a bit refreshing. ML being a CEO and afraid of something is a classic but there has to be something that binds the couple together.
Acting wise this is rather good. No cringe acting or over-acting even if it’s clearly a low-budget production.
So, if you are in the mood for something lighthearted and sweet, this is a definite “Must Watch”.

Good revenge-plot mini-show

This is a good revenge-plot mini-show. The storyline is interesting and exciting. Only thing is that the subtitles in the version I saw (YouTube auto translate) made it hard to follow, especially in the last 4-6 episodes. I could guess most but it was a bit annoying.
Character wise:
We have a sweet and gentle FL who loses her parents in a drowning incident. That makes her develop a second fierce and strong personality who at some point appears to warn her about her husband and female friend and exert revenge.
ML is a cold and calculating man who marries a woman to get to her inheritance.
Acting wise this is very good and the actors do a good job within the limited timeframe.
So, if you like a fast and interesting revenge-plot show, this is actually worth watching.

Good time-travel show - with a major twist in the end

This is a really good time-travel mini-show. The storyline is interesting and exciting since there are a lot of twists and turns.
Character wise:
FL is a strong and independent woman with really good investigation skills.
ML is a simple but strong general who doesn’t know much about life outside the army. He has great perception skills.
Acting wise this is pretty good and the actors do a good job within the limited timeframe.
So, if you like a good time-travel show - with a major twist in the end - this is well worth watching.

Mini-show with great potential but ......

This is an ok mini-show. It’s rather low-budget and the special effects are not that great. It doesn’t ruin the show but the overall quality is affected by that - and the short format doesn’t help either. I can’t help thinking that this could have been epic if time and money was spent creating a “normal” show - or at least one with longer episodes - and better character building.
The storyline is interesting since it’s about the love between the Dragon King and Mo Yue Rong. They are trapped in a reincarnation cycle because the Dragon King has placed his Dragon Pearl in Mo Yue Rong. Every time she reincarnates he tries to save her from those who want the Dragon Pearl for themselves and create a future for the two of them to be together. I wish the storyline could have been better developed in a longer show where we could see more of the reincarnations she goes through.
Acting wise this isn’t impressive but the chemistry between the leads is good.
So, if you are in the mood for something fast and short, this is an ok watch.
