A mix of everything

It had some amazing points, but there were also some that could have been better. But good things first – the acting in general was pretty solid, the action and training scenes were jaw-dropping and incredibly well executed, the dreams and visions were nicely set apart from the reality, which made the story a bit easier to follow. They also did a really good job incorporating different genres and themes into a pretty logical plot line.

However, I did feel like a lot of time was wasted on all those crimes that the team investigated, many of which were kind of related to one of the main plots, but not enough to really make them worth our time. I would prefer there to be one really big case that would have connected to the other main plot. It would have made more sense, and it would have allowed a more solid connection between everything that has happened.

Phaya & Tharn: I loved them in the first episode – the rivalry, the tension, the connection. The two are quite similar. They are both stubborn, tend to act without thinking, hate having others worry about them while being very protective of their loved ones, have a very solid moral compass… I did Phaya to be a bit more hot-headed, but Tharn was not far behind him either. I do think there are certain things about their story that I wish wouldn’t have happened. There were a few slaps, which have no place in a relationship nor between friends or colleagues. Another thing that bothered me was the lack of trust between the two. It made me confused why Tharn has so little trust in Phaya, even knowing the two are connected, while blindly trusting others. Well, Phaya didn’t really trust him either, he kept a lot of secrets. Maybe that goes hand in hand, you get what you give. Billy and Babe had great chemistry though, and they did amazingly in their roles.

I really liked their team and the dynamics between them. Khem and Thongthai were kind of cute together, even if I wasn’t always sure if the two were actually a thing or not. Yai is a lot of fun too, and he is a good friend. Even with his occasionally slightly crazy ideas. The inspector was interesting, but I didn’t really understand his thought process most of the time.

Doc Chalothon was there, I guess. I just wish his character was a bit more involved with the investigation part of the plot. He did pop up here and there, but he wasn’t nearly as present as I hoped he would be. I did find him creepy from the moment he appeared, so Heng did a great job with this role.

Now, as for a few other not so great things. I did find their way of investigating things a little like playing pretend. There were just a lot of things that didn’t make much sense, especially in relation to keeping the details of the investigations private from the general public.

But the major setback was the ending. I found it extremely anticlimactic. I think they should have concluded the investigation in one episode and the naga in another. They concluded them in the same episode, which made one of the conclusions feel very rushed and lazy, and maybe illogical as well. I feel like we were robbed of a scene we were all waiting for.

All in all, it was a good watch but it could use a few tweaks.

Thank you for picking up my trash

This was a watch and a half! I mostly really enjoyed the drama, but I feel there are certain little plot holes or events with no real conclusions left in the end. I loved how clearly they differentiated between the scenes of their first lives and their second lives. Seeing there were a lot of flashbacks or parallel scenes, that was something I liked.

Kang Ji Won was both on a path of revenge and path of self-discovery. She used to be very meek, someone who was living in the shadow of her best friend. Yet things changed once she died. At first, there was a lot of little acts of rebellion which soon grew into something bigger. Ji Won realized that the only way to be happy and to be free of those who hurt her is to change. Change herself and change her faith. They really worked on showing her a good person, someone who hurt when she caused pain to others, even when it was well deserved. She grew into that person. She became more confident, stronger and someone who stood up for both herself and others. But in the final stages of her revenge, it was like she lost all the good parts of herself. I am not sure how I feel about that. In a way, she showed that she really had had enough of it, that she will not let herself fall victim again. But in a different way, I hated how this meant she had no empathy, no her good-person attitude in those scenes.

Park Min Hwan has no redeeming qualities. The man never learns. He is selfish and self-centered, he doesn’t care about anything or anyone except for himself. And money. That might be his one and only love, and he is willing to do anything to get it. In both timelines. He never shows regret and is not capable of having feelings for anyone. Even his “feelings” for Ji Won were never real, he simply found it convenient to have her around. He never appreciated her when he had her. But once she became unattainable, unavailable, he wanted. Not because he loved her but because he refused to admit defeat or admit that she can be happy without him.

Jung Soo Min is another character that has no redeeming qualities. To put it simply, she was obsessed with Ji Won. To her, it was either she has Ji Won or no one has her. Her only way of achieving that was to isolate her, tie her to herself. In a way, Soo Min was jealous of Ji Won, but I think it was mostly her need to better than her while making sure Ji Won is always there to lift her confidence up. Soo Min, similar to Min Hwan, only ever truly cared about herself and her status in the world. I must say that Song Ha Yoon, the actress who played Soo Min, did an amazing job. She made us hate the character, but it was easy to see how much work she put into portraying Soo Min in the way that she did.

Yoo Ji Hyuk was a confusing character to me. What exactly was his point? Look, I’m a sucker for a good romance plot but I just wasn’t feeling him suddenly realizing he wants to be with Ji Won. He spent most of the series playing her errand boy, doing everything and anything she asked for or needed. She needed money to execute her revenge (and some extra support at work), so they threw in a rich manager who would do all that for her. And while it might be cute to some extent, I found it a bit annoying by the end. I feel like there was a lot more potential for plot development related to Ji Hyuk that just wasn’t explored properly.

I have similar feelings about some other characters. Like Oh Yoo Ra who I found absolutely unnecessary. I get that they wanted to throw another ex into the mix, but her whole wannabe gangster attitude towards everything and everyone was just not it.

Seeing it’s 2024, can we please agree to stop with the makeovers where everyone just loses their glasses? It’s stupid and annoying cliché. Glasses are hot and there is nothing wrong with people deciding to wear glasses instead of choosing an alternative.

There were other scenes and characters that made very little sense to me, but I don’t feel like getting into it. So, why am I still rating this drama so high? Because I loved it. It kept me hooked from start to finish and it had some absolutely amazing scenes, characters and acting. The good outweighs the bad for me.

It was something new, even if it got a bit messy

I had quite high expectations for the series. The trailer looked interesting, even with all the red flags it threw at us. The plot was good, it made sense to some extent, but there were still some plot holes left and many, many stupid decisions. Not that anyone expected anything else. It did get a bit messy at times, especially with so many characters that each had their own plot.

Now, for the omegaverse aspect of the series. I, as most other fanfic readers out there, have at least a little bit of an idea what omegaverse is and how it works. It’s not usually my cup of tea, I’ll admit that, but it’s something I can deal with when it’s not too in your face. I didn’t mind it too much in the series, I even missed some elements of it. So, while certain things were hinted at, I wish they were clearer, especially the whole enigma-alpha relationships.

Charlie & Babe: I am not a fan of how the two started, and I only got less impressed as the series progressed and more things were revealed. Both of them are big red flags, but somehow, they made it work. They both have past trauma and find it hard to easily trust people. But while Charlie tends to make plans and then act on them, Babe tends to rush into things with not much thinking. He’s very hotheaded. Communication? We don’t know her. The two were very quick to forgive each other and forget about everything that had happened, which is both good and bad. Bad, because a lot of very problematic things were just swept under the rug. Good, because the story would drag on too much otherwise. I liked the chemistry between Pavel and Pooh, and I really liked how Pavel handled the more emotional scenes.

I feel like this is a good space to mention Way. He made me go through so many different emotions. His story is one of the major plot holes and unsolved situations of the series. I feel like his story did not get a proper closure, but it was the lazy way out. Nut was great in portraying Way’s emotions, especially love and jealousy.

Alan & Jeff: They were such cuties! Even if there were a lot of lies and secrets between the two at some point, they talked about it. Jeff is a loner and very reserved, which is very understandable with his upbringing. And Alan is just full of love that he is always trying to share with his boys. In a way, he collected a group of lost boys and gave them love and a chance to thrive under his guidance. It’s no surprise started to melt around Alan at some point. I found their height difference adorable. I also liked the chemistry between Sailub and Pon.

There are a lot of other possible and hinted at ships throughout the series. But if there is one that I am fully on, it’s the North and Sonic ship. The two were a breath of fresh air. There was the least drama surrounding them. I loved their little bickering moments, vlogs, and them trying to be helpful but not really managing to do that.

As for the other characters, Tony is horrible. Kenta is… hurting. He doesn’t know how to quit being Tony’s right hand, no matter how much he hurts him, humiliates him. Pete was a surprise; I wasn’t really sure what to expect from him. Similarly with Kim, and even Dean. Winner is not worth the trouble of talking about him. But all the actors played their characters well, even if some of the villains felt a bit cartoonish.

All in all, it was a good watch, but I think it needed something more to be amazing.

It had many down and very little ups

I do think this is a nice opportunity to give a chance to different actors and parings to show their potential, as well as to try out some different plots. I liked the fact that they were very different from one another. The acting was pretty weak in all of them though. There were some actors that were better but seeing that most of them have at least some minor roles under their belt, I was expecting more.

There are some connections between a few stories, but not all of them. To be honest, even with the few connections that there are, the stories are not really connected with one another. Sure, the characters are the same, but the focus is on something different, and the storylines from other stories are never referenced. So technically speaking, each story can be considered as a standalone.

I found it a bit annoying waiting a week between two episodes, only to then have it end and start with a new story again. It was hard to keep up with everything and everyone, especially as there was a new world building and new characters every other week. Maybe it would have been easier to have the episodes either be longer and make it into a single episode for each story or have the two joint episodes air in the same week (e.g. Saturday and Sunday).

The timeline of how the events of each story follow one another is a bit unclear. Do these “love stories” follow each other in the order they were aired or is there a different order? And alternative universe for each of them maybe? I think this reflects on the fact that the same characters appear in different stories, but their love lives are never referenced. And there are some inconsistencies with the characters themselves as well.

At some point, it all started to feel very lazily done and with very little effort. There was a lot of flashbacks about things we just saw, multiple times in a row. There are a few stories that probably have enough “new” footage for one episode and not two. Yet they stretched it into two with all the flashbacks and plots full of holes and inconsistencies. It could have been much better.

The plot holes, weak acting and often poor chemistry, badly placed comedic inserts and lack of logical and good story development were my biggest complaints for most of the stories. Down below are ratings and links to a review of each individual story.

Magic mirror? Or no magic mirror?

I was ready to absolutely hate Pond. I didn’t like the way the character was introduced, he appeared arrogant and very out of touch with reality. And while the later stuck through the series, I realized that I mistook his confidence for arrogance. He was quite sweet and caring, not only to those close to him but also others. A big part of the series is spent on him doing his best to make Mawin happy.

I don’t really know what to think about Mawin, his story is not exactly thought through. It might be just two episodes, but it needed more background and a strong basis to make it all believable. What exactly does he have? Why can’t he hang out with his friends? Why doesn’t he keep in contact with them in a different way? I just don’t think the plot around him held any water.

The mirror was kind of an interesting addition to the story. I guess it was a good connecting factor between Pond and Pawin. I just wish it actually had the power we were led to believe it does. With how things are, it didn't really serve any real purpose.

I also have a little bit of a problem with the cast. I did think Pond looked much older than 29 and with Mawin looking quite young, it was a bit of a strange choice. Looking at the cast, I realized that the actor playing Pond is actually 44 years old. Which I don’t think was the best choice. I guess it would also explain that the chemistry between the two might have been better than with some other couples, but it wasn’t exactly great either.

Want to camp? Rent a mate!

It was slightly confusing. Pai gets dumped by his girlfriend, while Third and his girlfriend are on kind of a break. The thing is, Pai and Third’s girlfriend are travel companions while their partners are not. So, Third hires Pai to travel with him, saying he wishes to understand his profession more. The two end up at the same camp as their (ex)girlfriends. How unexpected! There was no passion between the two boys, I am not even sure if there was supposed to be. I found the girls cute though. But there are certain things that could have been done differently.

The plot is kind of lacking. Nothing much actually happens, and what does is not really well connected to other scenes. The acting was okay, but it also felt weak at times. The comedic aspect of it was not really done well either.

I don’t think we can say this is a two-part series. Why? Because the breakup scenes have been played like 3 times each! Instead of giving time for the story to develop, to maybe flow a bit more naturally without all the weird scene cuts, we get to watch the breakups (time apart) speeches and arguments again and again. With no changes. And the first few minutes of the second episode are the same as the last few minutes of the first episode. A waste of time.

Things were left pretty up in the air in the end. Certain things were hinted at, but if they actually used up their time wisely, things could have concluded a lot more nicely. And in a way that made sense with the story progression they could have included. Now, it just seems rushed and not really making much sense.

SOTUS wannabe… but make it GL

I expected the series to have at least a little bit of SOTUS vibes, especially after seeing the trailer and everything… but there were some scenes that were pretty much an exact copy paste. And it has nothing to do with the fact they were trying to show us the hazing process. It was certain things they included, the punishments, etc. I’m sure there were other options than tearing apart the nametag or having the senior run laps. Even the whole wants-to-be-though senior who is actually a cutie, while the junior seems to be a bit more mature and capable.

But if we leave those initial similarities aside, the story developed in a different direction when it came to the later episodes as well as the main couple’s relationship. However, the timeline is a mess. There are a lot of time jumps, so it’s hard to keep up with how much time has actually passed. Especially those in the last episode. The flashbacks are not always clearly set apart, so it sometimes took me a bit to realize we are seeing a flashback. It was all kind of rushed too, especially towards the end.

There were also some strange scene cuts which made the story slightly difficult to follow at times. The plot in general seems a bit weak. It relied very heavily on a constant flow of past and current possible love interests. It made it very repetitive. And then we have the episode with the freshy content where we have no clue what is going on because there was loud music playing over everything. And they couldn’t even bother with the subtitles for the convos that we were shown on screen during that time. There was another such scene later. Why have the characters interact if there is no way for us to know what is going on?!

Manaow & Gyoza: Neither of the two is ready for a relationship. They are childish, can’t communicate with each other, always jump to conclusions, and think crying and avoiding the other person will solve everything. They both made a lot of mistakes, some were worse than others, but only Manaow owned up to them while Gyoza continued to play the victim. I feel their ending left a lot to be desired, there was still so much left unclear and up in the air. I think that separately, I liked both girls. They really shined when they were with their friends, we saw a different side to both. But together, they were not it for me. The two actresses, Kookkaew and Anda, had a nice enough chemistry, but the editing didn’t do them justice. Their acting was kind of weak at times, especially in the more emotion heavy scenes, and neither of them can cry.

As for side characters, there was a lot. As I mentioned, the possible love interests were annoying. As characters, some of them were actually great and I wouldn’t mind them… if they weren’t yet another love-sick puppy. I did find Warang and Prang adorable though. And Thida is the kind of friend everyone wants. She is amazing!

It had potential, but the plot needed some more work. As did the editing. Maybe they should have lost some of the cliches along the way and given Naow and Gyo some more time for their relationship to develop properly.

… And to where your eyes stray to

Bodyguards falling for whoever they are supposed to guard is a trope I have always loved. So, it’s no surprise I have really enjoyed this drama. The plot was simple, but I didn’t mind it. Seeing the series is quite short, I think anything more complicated would have a lot of shortcomings as there would be no time to properly address everything.

Han Tae Joo & Kang Gook: The two of them are very different yet similar. They come from different backgrounds, have different outlooks on life, and while one seems to be a trouble-making womanizer, the other is a problem-solving and always single bodyguard. But the two do share some interests. They both seem to deal with problems in a similar way, sacrificing their own happiness to keep their loved ones safe. I was ready to dislike Tae Joo and his spoiled self, but I really liked him at the end. Gook carried his emotions on his sleeve, even if he was trying hard to hide them. He knew it would only bring trouble to say it out loud. I think the two actors had nice chemistry, even if the acting was a bit weak at some points.

As for the bad, I really wish we had seen more of the main leads being a couple. I really missed at least a few scenes with them just being lovey dovey with each other. Han Tae Joo’s father was a very unlikeable character. And while I wasn’t bothered by him being all high and mighty and who knows what else, I absolutely hated his behavior and attitude towards Hang Gook. It just didn’t sit right with me. Maybe it’s because of how short the series is, but his motives were not believable. Nor did they make much sense.

Should've happened before Pieces of Me

It was much better than I expected. Especially considering what we were told it will be at first. I was very concerned about the original plot (Nick pretending to be 16 to get with Tod), so seeing that they changed it made me very happy. I do think it was better done this way.

However, the two parts did seem to drag on a bit, especially the second. The acting wasn’t very believable at times, which I think made it difficult to really feel the emotions in the more emotional scenes. They also ruined the ending by scheduling these two episodes after Pieces of Me. We already had a good idea of what to expect, which kind of prevent the buildup of what would happen in the end. Maybe switching the order of Pieces of Me and 1626 would be better.

Another complaint I have is about the time – when things happen, how do different events follow each other, etc. I found it very hard to keep up with what is past and what is present. There was no clear distinction between the two.

Disappointing, not worth the time nor the effort

What happened? No, seriously, what were they thinking?! Jade was definitely a favorite of mine in Bed Friend – he was friendly, loyal, helpful, knew when to stick his nose into things and when not. He was an extremely likeable character. The Jade we see in this, is nothing like that. They turned him into a caricature, a cartoon-like character.

The plot was kind of boring. They were playing a game of cat and mouse with nothing much going on. Except for those awful comedic sound effects and Jade screaming half the time. They did tone it down a bit as the series progressed though. At least I think so. It could have been so much better if that just tried. Not the actors, but the writers and the team behind the production. That’s where the faults lie.

And then there were the plot holes that were never addressed. The weird scene cuts and jumps between the scenes. It made the drama hard to follow and understand at times.

Jade & Mai: Jade was a screaming mess half of the time. I really disliked what they did with his character, because he became this clueless mess who couldn’t string two normal sentences together. Why go to this effort to ruin a character? He had no real personality. And to be honest, neither did Mai. He was hot, and he liked Jade. That was his whole personality. Nothing more. It felt like very lazy writing, almost like they didn’t really gave any though to their characters. Yim and Tutor did okay, I guess. But with how exaggerated Jade was and how little we saw of Mai doing anything (except bright close ups because he’s just so perfect), it’s hard to tell. They just didn’t have a chance to display their talents.

King & Uea were also reduced to almost cartoon-like selves. I honestly found their “little” arguments annoying. Can you imagine how tiring it is to be in a relationship with someone who is constantly sulking with you? The lack of communication also left a lot to be desired.

Tong & Gus: I actually liked the two of them as a couple a lot more than I did Jade and Mai. They felt like a better match, I also liked that there was no authority / power struggle between the two. Their communications skills could use some work though. But I really liked the chemistry between the two characters, Leo and Tai did great here.

Even giving it a 4.0 rating seems extremely generous. All I know is, that this might be my last Domundi series if they continue going down this road.

It had a lot of potential, but it sizzled out by the end

The basic premise of the plot was very cliché – rich man falling in love with a poor woman who is working for him. Seen about a million times, but it can still be great. I liked the added complication of Vee’s missing mother and Mirin’s involvement with it. It added an extra layer of possible complications. I was, however, not a fan of how it all played out. They were really building up with all the problems, the way all relationships were becoming more and more complicated, the issues were pilling up… and then it just kind of fizzled out. It was very anticlimactic.

Veekit & Mirin: They were trying to make Vee cold, unreachable, and grumpy. He was just childish and kept throwing tantrums left and right. I am glad they dropped that act fairly quickly, even if his sudden change of character was a bit unexpected. Mirin was sweet, even if a bit too honest at times. I liked that. She matched Vee fairly well and didn’t let him trample all over him. I found the two cute, but I didn’t really feel the sparks. Which is a shame. Dew’s acting did feel a bit bland at times, I just don’t think he handled the emotional scenes well. I liked Kao’s acting better, it was more believable.

As for side characters, I think Chanon had a lot of potential. There could be a lot more done with him, his ambitions, and his mother’s plans. But they took the easy way out in the end. And he became another thing, another complication that just kind of sizzled out. Ewes was sweet and loyal, even if there were times where that loyalty might have brought her to the wrong side of things. Thanya was just plain annoying. She didn’t really have any personality beyond being rich and wanting Vee.

As I said, it had a lot of potential. But it was wasted as they decided to take the easy way out when it came to solving all the issues that arose through the drama.

Wasted potential

The plot seemed interesting, and it had a lot of potential. But due to the shortness and weird cuts between the scenes, it ended up being messy and hard to follow. There were some flashbacks and then jumps back to the present, but it was very hard to distinguish when one ended and the other started.

There were also quite a few plot holes. Some that weren’t given enough background information and some that never got a proper conclusion. One such plot hole is also Shao Jie, who Wu Zheng is apparently getting closer with. I am not sure if this happened before the series, but we get to see very little of her, so it’s really hard to say anything about the two.

Wu Zheng & Yu Shi: I have so many issues with the two of them! A lot of their intimate moments felt very forced and non-con. The thing is, Yu Shi looked extremely uncomfortable most of the time, like he doesn’t really want to be intimate. And Wu Zheng kept pressing on, was very pushy on the topic. Which I disliked. And then there is also the fact that Yu Shi suffers from a dissociative disorder which in turn makes one of his personalities have the mind of a five-year-old child… that made those “intimate” scenes so much worse in my eyes.

They tried to address some serious things, but I don’t think they managed to do so with any of them. From trauma, to exploring one’s sexuality, it was all just so glossed over. It wasn’t really given proper depth.

However, I think the actor who played Yu Shi did an amazing job switching between the personalities. The glasses did help in distinguishing between the two, but it was also in the mannerism, the way he talked… it really showed.

We also got a second couple… who I don’t really know much about. I guess they have a past. And that’s pretty much all we get to know. Which again adds to the choppiness and unexplained plot holes.

It had potential but it didn't deliver

The plot was very predictable, which is not a bad thing. It had a lot of potential to be great, to go deeper and really develop the relationship between the two main characters. Sadly, the execution is where the series fell short.

The pacing was very confusing. I was never sure how much time has passed between the scenes, how long have the characters knew each other, etc. It made the story progression and any possible relationship development hard to follow and understand. There are also some plot holes that leave a lot either unfinished or without any prior explanations. And all that just added to how patchy the series was.

Kang In Soo & Yoon Sang Yi: I didn’t really believe their love. I think it has a lot to do with how patchy it all was. They simply weren’t given enough time (on screen) for them to make their love easily understandable, believable. Separately, I found each of them very sweet. Yoon Sang Yi is a little awkward and gets tongue tied when he is close to his crush. It is endearing. Kang In Soo seems closed off and is someone who doesn’t necessarily trust easily. At the same time, it seems easier for him to connect with people through music.

I'm glad they didn't take down the road we all thought they would

I don’t even know what I watched. But let’s start with the obvious, I don’t think that the twins, Korn and Kun, were in love with each other. It wasn’t a one-sided love either. Even if they had some rather questionable habits. Here’s the thing, the two are used to having each other only. They have probably never been apart for longer than a few hours, so the possibility of losing that is scary. Could you say that there is jealousy and possessiveness involved? Yes, and it might be stronger than what one would expect. But the two seem to have a stronger bond than siblings usually do.

I am not really sure why they decided to set this as part of BL anthology, but I am incredibly glad they didn’t take it down the road we all thought they would. The plot was very simple, but it involved a lot of growing up from everyone involved. It did feel patchy and kind of abrupt, especially how they decided to end most things. I just think there are a lot of conclusions that we just didn’t get or were skimmed over without being properly addressed.

It was an okay watch, but it wasn’t anything special. I did find the acting a bit lacking, especially in the more emotional scenes. However, I do think Mild did amazingly!

Can we get them a gangster manual or something?

I didn’t have super high expectations after seeing the trailer, but I was still expecting more story wise. The plot seemed simple enough, but there were so many plot holes that I was left with more questions than answers in the end. I think a lot of time was taken up by other characters instead of giving more screen time to Tew and Guy, so they could properly develop their relationship. The gaming aspect was nice, but we only got one (maybe two) proper scene related to it. Which is a shame as it appeared to be quite a big element of Tew’s and Guy’s relationship.

Besides all the cliché complications and poor decision, the gangster element was very questionable. I couldn’t take Tew seriously as a gangster because of his baby face. I loved the styling; they went for the classic Italian mafia man outfits that looked absolutely incredible on him. But that was not enough. Don’t even get me started on how he was the worst gangster to ever live. Which says a lot because no one in this drama made for a decent professional criminal. Seriously, couldn’t they find a gangster manual or something? It might have helped.

Tew & Guy: Leaving aside what a terrible gangster Tew is, I actually found them quite cute together. Tew is more mature and doesn’t trust easily, while Guy seems to be deeply wanting friends and is ready to trust anyone. I don’t necessarily think they are a perfect match, but I think they are both adaptable enough to make it work. I was a bit bothered how Tew was someone who was always true to what he said, yet that is not something that is carried through the whole show. Guy was a bit too naïve at times too. Meen and Ping have a good chemistry, but there is something about Ping’s acting that always throws me off. I am not sure what it is, but he just can’t handle emotion heavy scenes.

Wahl was so annoying! He was incredible unlikeable character and I was rolling my eyes whenever he was on screen. I did like the game friends; they were quite different from each other, but they were great together. Tul was always loyal to Tew, even if some of his decisions are a bit questionable. Boss left me mostly confused. Not about his feelings, but about his reasoning behind a lot of his actions. It made absolutely no sense.

And then we got to Kenji. He was very cartoonish. He didn’t feel like a real villain, but more like one you’d find in a cartoon. All of which was even more exaggerated by his style, the way he talked and reacted to everything. I just don’t think this was the way to go if they wanted to create a good villain.

The ending was okay, I guess. It was only half of what I was hoping for, but it is also something that the series was leading towards since the 3rd or 4th episode, so it is what it is.
