Starting off with what I loved most about this drama - the love between the CP. If you're tired of all the familiar tropes we encounter- misunderstanding/ ML or FL keeping secrets to "protect"/ betrayal that is not a betrayal/ heartbreak etc., then this drama is FOR YOU. The main CP has no misunderstandings. They completely love and trust each other, through thick and thin which was SO REFRESHING to see. Zhao Lusi and Yang Yang also have good chemistry so they sell the love well. I could have easily done some more episodes of them being lovey-dovey and just great IMHO.

What the drama gets bogged down by is the Plot itself. I liked the start and thought it was well written till we reached a few episodes in when the drama decided to spend tons of time dealing with ML's family issues. This got tired and was too much. Also, ML is touted to be one of the most clever and powerful characters in the plot. Why did he take so many episodes in dealing with his family then is something I just don't understand! Also, considering how the ML and FL are basically considered powerhouses in martial arts, the main antagonist seemed weak to me and was unconvincing as a powerful villain. His backstory was also not well developed and his writing could have been done better. In fact, if they had given him another powerful ally, it would have made for a more convincing story.

For the acting, I think both actors did a good job. At times, they seemed a bit stiff but it was good overall. Zhao Lusi takes the cake for me - she was very good in this drama. Yang Yang needs to do costume dramas more - he looks so good in every take (yes, even the white hair one).

Lastly, the action scenes were good, not great. It started great but became funny (and not in a good way) towards the end. In the final fight, it seemed like the director got tired of doing the action scenes and decided to make a video game sequence. Too weird.

All in all, I would recommend to watch and will probably re-watch for scenes of the main CP and skip the rest.
