Great message but delivery wasn't always there.

I enjoyed the show which is why I rated it quite high but I found the storyline a bit all over the place with no real depth.
I loved the message of personality over looks, which can be shown in not only the main leads storylines but with all the characters. The "pretty people" were not all horrible and vain, while the "ugly/inadequate" were not all humble and nice. You were given a full variety of characters which made you really enjoy learning about their personality behind the "face value".

Though I will say I felt a bit disappointed with the main leads since while i did understand why they were both reserved, i was expecting their true personalities to be shown a bit earlier. I also expected more give and take between them, while it seemed like the male lead was extending himself and making a lot more changes within his life vs the female lead. The female lead seemed quite reluctant to help or extend herself to help the him but it is easily can be contributed to her insecurity and being unsure what to do in those social situations. Still the female lead did gain confidence and courage, she learned to find her own happiness that is not based on being "pretty".

In the end I just wished that we got more storyline after the main female gained her confidence, since that was when we got to really see her personality and also saw more of the male leads personality since she helped to bring him out of his shell. Still all in all it was a good series with a good message.

A story of trauma, healing, and the journey between

I've seen a lot of bad reviews saying this series is lacking on story since there was no diabolical other woman/man, death threats, evil Mother in law, etc. but honestly it was refreshing to see the main characters growing and healing together.

From first impressions Young Joon seems to be cold and pompous but you see as the story goes why he became that way. He felt as a kid that he had to hide his trauma from not only a kidnapping but the preceding bullying that was inflicted by his brother that caused him to be kidnapped. It was implied that he was ostracized for being intellectually gifted, so instead of letting others mock him for it, he shrouds himself in a protective façade of being overly pompous. When he starts to relax around Mi So, he becomes more open and protective of her but then when he becomes nervous he will slip back behind the self protective wall of being overly pretentious. I really loved seeing him grow as a partner to her, going from "wont it be great to marry me, an amazing intelligent handsome man" to "I want to marry you, the most amazing beautiful intelligent woman, can I have that honor?"

Also seeing how the brothers guilt over what he did and how it caused him to repress the real memories and how it caused so much animosity between them. Them learning to forgive each other and regain their brotherly love was so nice to see.

Also the side couples, are the cutest. I love the awkwardness and sweet love between them.

Second lead won my vote

I loved this series so so sooo soooooo much. honestly it was so refreshing to see her embracing her beauty, her friends embracing her too. And the men around her seeing her beauty with and without makeup.
Now I have to be honest that I was so split on the last few episodes, which was such a twist. I love Han Seo Jun, I loved him the entire series. There was no "questionable" moments that usually comes when learning about the second male lead that pushes you to root for the male lead. He was sweet, tough, funny, and his love for her was selfless. He fought to protect her, didn't care if he was teased for his constant care and wasn't expecting anything in return for his love.
I honestly had this momentary hope that instead of running to "stop" Su ho, she would walk towards the entrance then stop and race after Seo Jun and find him crying. Embrace him and they can reminisce about how much they grew together over the years. How he was more of a partner to her, supported her and loved her over the years.
Yes, I know Su Ho was set in between a rock and a hard place when they broke up, but their relationship was a high school, first love romance. They didn't really go on proper dates or grow together since it was a constant battle from the get go, that excited rush of the honeymoon period. So to have them instantly get back together just seemed a bit cliche since it was Seo Jun who gave her the care and love, spent years as her friend and built a real foundation together.
Don't get me wrong, I know the heart wants what it wants, sometimes you just don't have those feelings for someone. Su Ho is a great character and I do like their love story but I just rooted for Seo Jun a bit more in this. RaWr.
I also was in tears with his singing the song in the end, his raw emotions. I just wanted him to have a happy ending too.

I LOVED this series but had one problem with it.

As the headline says, I adored this drama, the story, cast, the chemistry was on point the entire series. You can feel the chemistry from the leads and see how it was her health that the main focus even though at first the female lead was more concerned about reclaiming what she had when she was younger. I loved how they explored not only weight loss in a safe healthy way and a dangerous way but also rehabilitation from injuries.
My biggest issue was the ending, it left me wanting more from their journey. They went through so much I wanted a big wedding or to progress further on her being pregnant but healthy. Even a well rounded pudgy preggo tummy in a wedding gown that the grandma looks at happily because she got her big wedding present from them. I needed to see Mr. Coach as a dad with little munchkins hanging on him while he playfully lifts them likes weights.
I think we could have gotten that ending if they focused on the main leads more vs the second leads as much in the last two episodes.
but all in all I loved it so so soooo much.

cute and steamy

This is one of those series that leave you completely satisfied with the ending, there is no "i need the epic conclusion!" because they give you everything wrapped up with a beautiful bow. I recommend this show for anyone who really wants a fluffy sweet romance that had some really steamy scenes.

I loved the buildup of the main characters relationship, it wasn't a instant "kapow" but a sweet shift that really showed them growing up and understanding what they truly had with one another. The key ,I felt, was how good the chemistry was between the actors since it was in the subtle changes that you really felt them shift from childhood best friends to something more.

The love interests that was placed in this show, especially for the female lead, were well placed and really showed cute milestones that most teenagers go through. The adorable puppy love, with sweet little gifts and clumsy acts shows of affection that sometimes went completely over her head. Then figuring out how to know if you really like someone or admire them for being an amazing person. They were great characters, even if they were more so fluffy than complications that needed to be fixed.

I also feel they did an amazing job with portraying the "computer science prince charming" guy and how she did nothing wrong to encourage the behavior he showed. Though I do wish the female lead was able to knock him on his butt and give him a wakeup call.

Fun watch, but a bit anti-climatic

As someone who watched both the series and the movie, I have to say I enjoyed the series slightly better overall because the main characters seem to have a lot more chemistry. Even in the cute moments in this movie there didn't seem to be any real sparks or that moment of "pow".
Still the series had issues that I felt this movie did not have, with the ending being rushed and ambiguous. I liked that they also gave the female lead more skills and that he wanted to create a show about her parents love story.

Confused and Sad?

I can't fault the actors in this series, truly I could tell they were all trying their best to make the best of very bad script but I wouldn't recommend this to watch

As many can tell from my reviews, I am a very avid fan of these dramas which is why I gave my all to this series. Truly I tried to grit my teeth to watch it through the very confusing story and I even wouldn't have given a second thought to the very weird "antidote" that the female leads kiss is framed as for the male leads disease but honestly it got creepy after a while.

STILL I tried to watch, hoping for a redeeming story between the couple, to hope for a glimmer of chemistry. but the story just kept getting more confusing with characters going on random plot lines for absolutely no reason to progress the story. I honestly started to just watch it without really trying to understand each persons actions but just wanting to finish the series, since I hate to give a review without watching the entire series

Then I got a ways into episode 23 and I just had to laugh at the absurdity of what was happening and just couldn't push myself to watch anymore. I realized that I shouldn't have watched this series past the first few episodes when I began ignoring the apparent issues in the storyline.

A cute love story

Sooo sweet and no horrible drama plots with death threats or kidnapping. Honestly its more so "real" issues you would see in a relationship with jealousy, miscommunication and learning how to compromise with your partner. I really love this series and Wei Zhe Ming is honestly the cutest puppy type of man. I love how shy he is and the love that seems to pour out of his eyes when he looks at her. Him and Xu Ruo Han really act well together, there is alot of chemistry between them and you can see really believe the story between their characters

I have watched this series twice and I still enjoy it.

So many twists and turns but so adorable

I absolutely adored this series. I was super worried that they threw so many speed bumps at the leads. Still I loved how strong and confident the female lead was from the start. She knew her own feelings, was not going to change herself for anyone. While she did stumble and doubt herself from time to time, she did not let the love rival win when she tried to embarrass the female lead or to make her doubt in their relationship. The ending was fitting too since she did not just melt for a proposal, she wanted to make sure the male lead truly trusted and valued her as a partner before she said yes, which is all she ever wanted.
Amazing series and I really recommend it to everyone who want to watch something super cute and fun.

Weird but sweet.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting to enjoy this series as much as I did since the trailer and storyline did not give me high hopes but it was actually a pretty well put together crime show that keeps you guessing who the killer is.
It starts off intense, then slows a bit while building the characters backgrounds etc but it picks up a few episodes in and keeps you interested. The female leads powers aren't to mystical to make it seem fake so the plot line was believable and that made the scary parts even more intense.

The love story between the main leads did not take over the plot all to much, even though the moments you did see were extremely sweet and the chemistry between them is undeniable, so it doesn't distract to much from the crime storyline.

The only things I am a bit confused over the females need to become a comedian, (she doesn't seem very funny or I possibly don't understand the humor?) and the random job changes in the last two episodes which seem to not stay changed? Otherwise the series was super cute.

A story about your own UNIQUE love.

Before you watch this series, I will say it is unique and can push boundaries. Which shouldn't be a surprise if you are at all familiar with Japanese films/series since they are known to have shows like that.

Once you get past the sweat focus, its honestly such a sweet love story about two people who are a building their own happy, loving relationship which may not conform to the norm. I will say the series is fast paced and cuts out A LOT of the background information/characters that you get from the manga (hint hint: read the manga!)

So, the female lead is a shy, anxious woman who was incessantly bullied due to her sweating as a kid - which as we all know when your stress, you only seem to sweat more -. She is intelligent, working as an accountant at a soap company but you can tell from the start she is unsure about her own body and what her value is as a partner/woman. Still she works hard to communicate to the male lead and doesn't rely on the stereotype that "he will guess the problem".
The male lead oversteps social boundaries but it can be overlooked somewhat due to him being a bit eccentric and utilizes his sense of smell to create new scents for soap. I would describe his personality as being similar to an odd painter who sees a new muse and begs for them to sit and model for them so they can create a new piece of art. He is very compassionate and hardworking, he shows his love to the female lead in all the ways he can and even shows his own vulnerability when he is scared he may be losing her.

All in all they work together to build each other up, overcoming insecurities and embracing each others uniqueness. I love the message of "I know I couldn't be there to have shield you from the pain you suffered, but I can be here now to share the painful memory of it and help you learn to heal".

Mashup of all the storylines

If you watched the anime, then you will be able to see how they took pieces of all the best parts of the anime and seemed to mash them all together. I felt like there was no build up to any real "climax"

you don't get any of the build up from yusuke training with genkai, they dont build a relationship and so you dont feel sad learning about toguro and her history, etc etc. AND then randomly she gives up the spirit wave/orb/ power after 20ish days of training I believe... and if you seen the anime you know what happens after that.... but you cant feel sad since no real character connection

the dark artifacts are there and while they followed that storyline the most, it was a let down since even though yusuke met heie and kurama, he still doesnt build a relationship with them through the smaller missions before the big dark tournament.

The "dark tournament" was a fast pace battle, and even though the fights somewhat followed the anime with the final competition, it honestly gave no satisfaction to watch since there was NO BUILDUP. toguro and yusuke never fought before then and it was just "oh.... hes dead"

It was ok if you just want to see a live action recap of some good points in the anime.

Maybe they will make a season two that is longer, and maybe an actual tournament?

Real Gamers don't fit a stereotype

I absolutely loved this series because it didn't stereotype the gamers, the female gamer was both girlie but a badass. They made sure to showcase her strengths but also showed her integrating into the team where they both learned from her and taught her new tricks. Each of the gamers were unique, with different strengths and they made sure to show that none of them were the "unstoppable, god gamer". They each had to rely on each other.
I thought it was soo good to see the main male lead be the one who had the "emotional" break that lead to the group surrounding him to show support. They also showed a strong female who was the one who was rich and she stood up for her love.
Each storyline of the supporting characters were cute and I felt like each one contributed to the story, instead of just being filler.

A bumpy first romance

Is this a fun series? Yes, it has all the cute scenes you expect from one of these rom coms, the guy trying to act cool but melting for his love interest. The main female lead is just adorable and she really embodies the "new to dating" awkwardness. You see Yuan Xian grow from a shy, unsure partner to being confident to tell Ling Wei, girl who likes Qin Shin, that they are dating even after the she used every opportunity to guilt Yuan from "gifting" her a job to using depression to keep them apart.

Now for the negative, I was a bit shaky on the romance between the main character since up until they started dating, I felt more chemistry in them tentatively showing their feelings. Then after they were openly dating there didn't seem to be any "chemistry" other than a very cute scene with him giving her a necklace and him barking >.< When you watch it, you will see what I mean.. just "ahh?"

Also I was a bit frustrated with how he seemed to punish her for quite some time, and it was seen as ok? I get him being upset for a bit but it seemed to be over a span of a long time.

All in all it was a cute series that took place over the span of freshman year for majority of the episodes and then a peak at them at graduation.

Puppy love is so cute to watch.

Ok was this show a bit odd... yes. But it was super cute as well.
I was giggling and smiling the whole time watching it. Its definitely one that really goes fast and leaves you with a smile at the end.
I swear if they did more of the training cuteness at the end I would have been so happy. That was adorable.
I couldnt handle the cuteness when "bannng! *dead*".... my heart just exploded
I only have one question.... when they have lil minions... will they also be lil husky babies? I want to see Mr husky all happy and cuddling her tummy, then cuddling the babies. Teaching them to play frisbee!! Teaching them how to be gentle with the kitties, "kitties are friends, you got to be soft with them... no no no bark"
Anyways, it was a cute little show that really just leaves you happy without too much drama like an evil love rival or anything like that.
