I hated the story, I couldn't get over Krisha and Barry's relationship

I wasn’t easy for me to watch this serie because I hated the main storyline, I thought it was horrible and it kept me wondering all the time “how could they do that to her” (I’ll let you know what the main issue was in the next paragraph). I liked that they made an analogy about being in the closet with a fairytale story, I thought it was very original, they also address the difficulties of accepting oneself sexuality and coming out which gives the series a plus and that’s why I gave story a 5.

*explanation without explicit spoiler
There is something that they obviously don't tell you in the synopsis “To move on, Mando goes out with liberated architecture student Krisha and the two become lovers. One fateful day, Barry walks back into Mando's life. Now, he needs to choose -- will it be mind over heart or heart over mind?” and is the relationship between Krisha and Barry and that kills the whole plot for me, it is not that Mando has to decide which one to choose, he actually cheats on her with Barry, and when you know what kind of relationship both of them have, you are left there wondering “hey, wait a minute? Are they going to move forward with the relationship? Why are they not thinking about the girl?”.

*spoiler
It doesn’t matter how much they love each other (they don’t even know each other, they have never spoken more than greeting other than in the dreams they have had, I think it’s just physical attraction), they must haver respected her as a boyfriend and as a brother (Krisha is Barry's sister)!!!!! I can’t conceive how they could be so selfish and lie to her and practically use her. I mean, boy, she is your sister, how could you forget about that??? And the lack of shame?? practically being over each other when she was around, that’s another level of cheating that I can’t tolerate, it was shown that they have a good relationship as sibling and still he did that to her? what could you expect from someone who doesn’t respect their loved ones, the ones they are supposed to love the most, what could you expect for the others? This is just my opinion; I couldn’t get over the fact that Krisha and Barry are "loving" siblings and that ruined the serie for me.

There was no chemistry and they didn't look like a couple

There is nothing much to say that hasn’t been previously said. In general, the plot idea is good, but I think it wasn’t well developed, the couple had little to no chemistry, they didn’t give off the vibe of being in love, their interaction was awkward, they looked more like friends than anything else. isn’t it weird for a couple to not like holding hands or showing affection to each other? I am not talking about physical affection but with looks, smiles and words, caring when the other is in a problem, accompanying them when they are not feeling good, I think even that friends are more comfortable and care more for each another than these two guys had.

When I saw this series, I was a little bit infatuated with Bright so I started watching more videos about him and he has the same personality as Sarawat, I don’t know if it is coincidence that the actor and the character have the same personality but I made think that the acting wasn’t so good, so I rewatched some chapters and I started noticing the lacking in the acting, as for Bright he has always the same expressions, is rare when he doesn’t. I’m not critiquing him because when I first saw it I hadn’t noticed anything, I just want to show that we aren’t always paying attention to everything when a pretty face is distracting us.

*spoiler
Now, talking about the things in the series that I didn’t like other that the main couple, I think it was a bit too much to make everyone gay, the focused on introducing other relationships but didn’t really deepen any of them or making you ship them, we just know that everyone brothers are gays and that they were in some kind of relationship.

I also don’t like how green’s character was handled just because of being feminine, like he was the comic relief, but I don’t he should have been. I don’t get why the cast heterosexual actors to portray gay characters and it is worse when they are all awkward with each other.

Overrated

When I was starting my journey in Asian Drama I read that Boys Over Flowers was a must see, oh boy, it actually disappointed me to the point that I stopped watching Asian dramas for a while. I know this one is one of the first dramas that became popular and opened the doors for all the other to come but the characters and the plot were disappointing. I am not sure but I think that in 2009 it was one of the one dramas to go along with the story of the rich boy and the poor girl (that's why I am giving it a 9), but what I don’t like is the lack of consent and consistency in the story.

First, to explain the lack of consent I don’t understand why Joon Pyo was always dragging Jan Di around, making her go places she didn’t wanted to and practically forcing her to be his girlfriend, he never asked her if she wanted to, he just started telling people around hum that it was that way and taking Jan Di with him to different places. And with the lack of consistency, at first Jan di is shown as a strong girl who is ready to stand up for herself and her friend to whomever dared to mess with her, but then she just lets Joon Pyo toy with her and drag her around, when they “started” being a couple she tried to explain that they weren’t but like, just saying it like twice as much and in a tone that no one would pay attention to, girl, you were throwing ice cream to that guy and yelling at him and now you can’t defend yourself?? And let’s not talk how Joon Pyo’s mother made her do whatever she wanted, I understand you can’t talk back to elder people in Korea but then she actually did what the woman asked for?

And don’t get me started on how she actually feel in love with the guy that was always bossing her around and didn’t care how she felt and not with the one that was always taking care of her and was so nice with her.

Not a good plot! I think they ruined the story and the characters

I gave this a 7.5 because of Max and Tul because it should be like a 6, without them and their chemistry this would have been doomed. The plot is so cliché and ruins the whole story, if they wanted to make a third season, they must have gone alone with them living together, coming out to their parents and the problems of every relationship, why go into cheating and hurting each other? also, why is cheating seen as nothing serious when it drives you to lose confidence in your partner and what is a relationship without trust??

Max and Tul have such good chemistry together but I couldn't understand the need to break two strong relationships (korn/knock and yihwa/cho) with cheating following the line that all gays are cheaters and can't stay in serious relationships. In together with me yihwa was a strong female character always standing up for her friends and taking care of them and in this one she is a pushover, she doesn't know what she wants and loses all the strong qualities her character had, same with Farm making him a fuckboy sleeping with every boy he finds and hurting people to get what he wants, wasn't he hurt that the doctor did the same thing to him, why would he want to be as the one who hurt him, I think they ruined the characters.
