A little info about me:

My favorite type of dramas:    Romantic Comedies, Romance, & Fantasy

My least favorite type of drama:     Tragedies, Horror, & Political

What will make me drop a drama:     Long unnecessary breakups (years long), noble idiocy, love triangles, too much angst, sad or open endings, too much second hand embarrassment, silly female lead, mean male lead

My ideal type of drama:     My ideal drama would be a romance with a touch of fantasy and leads that have amazing chemistry and lots of natural skinship. The story would have depth with an underlying message that touches the heart, there wouldn’t be too much angst, and the characters would have lots of growth.

I’ve been watching dramas for about 12 years now. I like watching everything including Thai, Chinese, Taiwanese, Korean, and Japanese dramas. In the beginning I watched whatever was popular. Now I’m very picky. Lately I’ve only been choosing dramas with a good ending and not too much angst. I’m tired of dramas that stress me out with too many conflicts and ridiculous misunderstandings that make me want to pull my hair out.  A little bit of angst is good but too much is annoying. I also thoroughly research my dramas beforehand now and avoid ones with long unnecessary separations (years long), anything with stupid breakups (like noble idiocy), ones with complicated love triangles, and anything that’s really sad or tragic. My watch list and reviews will usually be for dramas that have romance in them as that’s my personal preference. And if it has real kisses and great natural chemistry I always rate it higher. I like all types of genres including romantic comedies, costume & period, fantasy, crime & mystery, romance, and supernatural.

I prefer dramas with all of the questions answered and a happy ending. If a drama leaves me confused about what happened, or it has an open or a sad ending then I lower my rating because the drama failed to meet my expectations. I know some people love dramas that are really sad or dark with a tragic ending because it seems more realistic. But when I watch a drama it’s to get away from the realism of this world and all of the pressures that it brings. And when I see someone persevere and work hard to overcome numerous problems and then they have a happy ending it gives me hope. I’m inspired to work harder and not give up trying to find my own happy ending. It’s nice to briefly live in a kdrama world where good prevails over evil and happiness triumphs over sadness. It inspires me to do better.  If I want to see sad or tragic things to cry about all I have to do is turn on the news. So if you want my drama recommendations  then keep in mind my preferences as they heavily influence how I rate dramas.

You’ll also notice that I don’t have any dramas rated 5 stars or below. That’s because if it’s so bad that I’ll probably be rating it only 5 stars then I drop it because it’s not worth my time. I  haven’t done reviews over every drama I’ve watched or dropped. Many of them I watched long before I joined this website, So if you have any questions about a specific drama feel free to ask me anything. I don’t mind giving out spoilers or giving you a heads up on what to expect in a drama if you’re interested. Just message me and I’ll be happy to answer your questions.

You’ll notice that occasionally I’ll raise the rating of some of my previously viewed dramas. When I do that it’s because I’ve went back and rewatched it several times. If a drama is good enough to bring me back multiple times to watch it then it’s got something special about it that makes it worthy of a higher rating. Sometimes it’s because the humor was spot on perfect, the romance was smoking hot, or some of the characters were unforgettable. I feel like dramas that are good enough to bring me back to them over and over again should be given credit for such an achievement.

Now, on to the dramas!

My rating system

1 ⭐️ = This is the worst type of show with nothing in it worth watching. It’s irredeemable.

2 ⭐️‘S= This show had some possibilities and started out good but blew it. I hated it and have nothing good to say about it.

3 ⭐️‘S= I didn’t like it but I didn’t hate it either. It was boring.

4 ⭐️‘S= It had some parts I liked but the bad far outweighed the good.

5 ⭐️‘S= It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t very good either. It had equal parts of both. It was just kind of mediocre. I don’t care either way if I saw it again.

6 ⭐️‘S = It’s an average show that’s halfway decent but not spectacular. I could watch it again but I wouldn’t go out of my way to do so.

7 ⭐️‘S= It’s a pretty decent show that’s worth watching. I would recommend watching it if it’s a genre you like.

8 ⭐️‘S = It’s a great show. It may have some flaws but it’s worth watching and I’d definitely recommend it.

9 ⭐️‘S = It’s almost perfect. There are some tiny flaws but I loved it anyways. I would watch it again and again.

10 ⭐️‘S = It’s superb and has all the stuff I like in a drama. Even if a drama is flawed, if I keep rewatching it I give it this rating. When a drama hooks you and brings you back repeatedly then there’s something special about it and it deserves this rating.
