a disappointing outcome of a highly anticipated drama

the drama had a pretty promising start but after only 2 episode the drama started going downhill. there are 3 timeskip in this drama and two of them (5+5)10 years ) happened in only 4 episode.which is the first thing that makes the viewers dissatisfied as everything in the show was happening without proper explanations...the motivation behind the action of the main leads are unclear.

characters: inha was problematic from epi 1 but to gain public sympathy the writers made him act cringe in ep(2 ,3,4)and when his villain arch started he turned into a vanilla villain who can't do anything right. it's almost as if he is useless without Tae Ho.
Tae ho's character was most disappointing as i had most expectations from his character.
Hae Won: I don't wanna talk about her. her character is useless. K-drama writers should stop including female characters as just showpiece in their shows in 2024 now. Kang song joo: liked this dude from epi 1. he almost had overthrown his own father.. happy that he found peace in himself.
favorite characters: the prosecutor and the hacker.

Acting: Everyone gave their best(except Hong Suzu=Na Hye Won)but because the script is bad sometimes the acting seems dull or over acting.

it's almost impossible to root for any of the main leads not because they are morally gray but because the characters are almost pathetic, unemotional, pretentious and not pitiful at all when they pretend that they are.

the writing sucks and it lacks cohesion.everything is happening just for the sake of happening.the way Tae ho solved the murder mystery reminds me the drama Memorist. i was having Deja Vu.

anyway the script is old and it seems the drama was written as a 16 episodes drama but they shorten it to 12epi that's why there's so many time jump and everything is so rushed and they introduced new characters in the end episodes as if they have connections with other already established characters but it is never shown.

overall, enjoyed the two male leads and their visuals.

a average thriller drama which is ruined by romance

The first few episodes was very hard to watch as the writing and acting both seemed sloppy and forced.i almost dropped the drama but because i was curious about the culprit behind the bunny mask i finished the drama. The revelation of the mastermind was actually pretty predictable. However the thriller aspect of the drama was good but omg the romance? why? i want to ask the kdrama writers if it's really necessary to have romance in their drama.Romance actually ruined it for me . The progression of the relationship between the leads didn't make much sense to me.
The side characters and villains are two dimensional. Also the character growth of the fl lead and ml's confession both was done so poorly and in a lackluster way.
The drama could have been a good thriller but the writers ruined it with bad writing.
