Unique Intelligent Story with Epic Storywrting

Here, Ye Xiaotian the main protagonist does not have any martial art skills and uses his brain to solve problems as an official and climbs high by being fair and justice at the same time. Honestly, this is the type of drama that would make the audience be more intelligent, it was written well with good plot twists. The directors have also paid respect to other cultures. Never I thought the day would come when a court official in medieval China would dance to a bollywood song. That was so entertaining.

In terms of acting Joe Xu's acting is phenomenal, he has a lot of experience in acting and he nailed it basically. So did the other characters as well. The music is also good, I really loved the outro it was amazing and gives you positive vibes. Overall, it is an amazing drama not too thrilling but was interesting, cannot wait for the second season.

Nanno is a much more evil version of Hell Girl

"Sawadee ka, Nanno na ka"
"Hello, I am NANNO" - translation from thai

Thus opens every episode of this drama "Girl From Nowhere" with that introduction above, which is creepy. which is ranked 8 in MDL and 7.6 on IMDB
I don't try to review drama and post anywhere, but then this one needs a mention because of its powerful storytelling, great music and true portrayals of school issues among teens. Its very very psychological and a bit gore tackling very sensitive unspoken hidden issues in society. And yes its Halloween for me this month, duh the whole month or basically everyday so this is a good title eh.

Just as the title of the drama suggests, the main character is from nowhere, we don't know nothing about her but she goes to this every school and exposes people. It could be teachers, students, the janitors no one is safe, not in a million years. At first i read the synopsis and was discouraged to watch it, but the reviews and ratings made me think otherwise and sure its a completely different take on school issues, the directors/writers took the taboos and just threw it at my face for sure. In every episode its like WTF is happening, because you can't surprise me easily with horror and this show without significant or no jumpscares terrified me or left me feeling empty. Plot twists are unpredictable, literally iin the second season 1st episode a guy gets pregnant so yeah.. that sums it up.

So viewer discretion is super advised, you are going to see sins.. sins crawling on peoples backs but they are also crawling on your back too? No one is free from karma and if you do bad its going to come haunt you. Probably closely following Thai-buddhist culture and the country's school setting, each episode highlights one different scenario: sexual abuse, bribes, mental issues, strict rules, bullying and some out of the world scenarios i have never seen in other drama. It goes on a realistic flow and then suddenly goes a bit supernatural. One of my favorite episodes is where "the weak was given power" : a random girl accidentally finds out that writing on the bathroom wall grants her any wish. We all wish for power, but at what cost exactly? What happens when other weak people share this power? Result is CHAOS..

The main protagonist "Nanno" is like Enma Ai from hell girl, but she has no side kick , she just instigates people, manipulates, teaches lessons, show your sins. She is not your friend and not your enemy, god knows who she is probably but I dont. The protagonist is not your damn hero so don't keep hope. Did this drama give me PTSD or some trauma, it really did, I'm Asian, asian setting in the drama and put two two together and there we go. I share one inspirational quote below from the drama and end this mess:

"All of us have heard countless apologies. If we make a mistake, we apologize. And yet, we still make more mistakes. Perhaps, our apology is actually meant for our next mistake"

How many fake excuses will you make, fake apologies and keep doing the same thing over and over again? If you make one mistake and you do i again, I think it says a lot about you eh?

All in all the show is artistic, well choreographed, absolutely amazing acting from Kitty Chicha and other actors and actresses. Amazing addictive OST's and OP, beautiful scenery, clean TOILETS and yes uh plot twisting story lines carries the show.

This drama makes you think, question and reflect on your whole life. Watch it if you dare! On netflix "Girl From Nowhere" Season 3 coming soon and I am very ready to get tortured blissfully with each new ep.

So I have watched a considerable amount of drama before writing this and there were good ones among them. But literally I never wanted to EVER write a review. But for this drama I must. I am not going to babble about the synopsis, it's a little bit of everything. A little bit of horror, romance, fantasy and 75% bromance. It's those bonds which are really precious in this drama. The sibling bonds and the friendship/slight yaoi bromance bond. I once got to know of this drama because Xiao Zhan is a member of my favorite c-pop group X-nine. I have already watched Oh! My emperor and his acting was epic for the role of Moran. In this drama I must say, his acting was quite unexpectedly impressive. Knowing his personality and previous roles, i can tell he had to give a lot of effort to do this. and it must have been a little bit cringey for him. When I first watched it, I was so surprised because he was doing a role which is so unexpectedly contrasting.

On Wang Yibo's part, I have seen so many people criticizing his acting saying that since his personality is so simillar to Lan Zhan that he did not do a good job. But imo he was the pinnacle of the whole series. How often do we get to see a role such as this? I'd say its pretty rare. It's a rare role and it takes a lot of effort to do it too! Lan Zhan might not speak more than 10 words for a single episode but he had to do a lot of work with facial expressions. I rewatched his scenes more than like 10 times and there were many moments I wondered how he is going to tackle his reactions. He had to not smile and smile which is not even a smirk in some scenes and doing that requires a lot of skill. Also his drunk acting is super epic. The other characters were really impressive too, like Wen Ning and Jia Cheng. They did a good job in terms of acting.

The music of the drama is what made the whole drama so memorable and increase the re-watch value. I listen to Bu Wang and QuJinChenQing literally everyday when I work out. So beautiful lyrics and such beautiful voices. The OSTS are indeed impressive even the background instrumentals. And beautiful china btw, watching all these scenic shots makes me realize I'm taking a vacation by watching the show itself. I gave the Drama a 9.5, because I personally enjoyed the interactions with the two male leads. After, the second rebirth of Wei Wuxian the drama was melancholic and it was ok but got a bit boring at the end. Maybe, because it did not have much interactions with the main male leads. However, overall this literally could be the best drama I watched for this year hands down!

What Title Man?

I came to watch this drama so I can torture myself and hate the world. It really just highlights more issues in school settings and its unique taste in tackling it. The acting is great and the oppening is much more artistic than the last one. A tragic gore psychological masterpiece as usual. Season 3 is coming and its gonna be good.

I liked that there is a rival in this one for Nanno it makes things a little bit unique than usual. Nanno is a little bit highlighted as justice here but then its subjective she was worse in the season 1 and thats the truth lol.

The Freaking Chemistry!

I took one look at the cover and thought, heck I am not sure about this title but the IMDB rating is very good and MDL rating is good and its ranked in the 100 top best here, but i still wasn't sure. But the truth is the whole series is freaking epic, the storyline, the chemistry, characterization and the music. Perfect flawless execution from the actors/actresses. Well timed and directed choreography with the plotline going on about korean rituals, Christianity, spirits, exorcisms, a perfect combination of unusual elements to paint out a perfect fantastic story which is of horror and mystery genre.

Horror wise, i think more than the story line the delivery and the choreography made it's mark, it was nevertheless pretty scary. Each episode had a scary exorcism. But as a fan of horror and of many years watching it, i always adored the emotional causes present in horror stories rather than jumpscares. The plot line involves 3 different characters of totally contrasting personalities and roles (detective, psychic and priest) which you could tell, already a good cue for a story, but its how these characters get perfectly interconnected with their pasts to the present which is the most wonderful, how their guilt and sorrows and forgiveness connects them. Perfect chemistry between Hwa Pyong, Choi Yoong and Gil Young, where they are not gushy or sweet, rather sarcasm and talk backs keeps them close. How without even you realizing, they become close. The unbreakable brotherhood of those three was more powerful than the horror itself.

I'll be honest, the emotional influence was so great in the story, that even it becomes more scary you get immune to it, the amazing OST's make the whole franchise more worthy with rewatch value, I appreciated the sad music during the exorcisms, instead of making it all about mysticism, evil. It was painted as pain and sorrow. With mild insane plot twists and incredible acting of the characters (especially Kim Jae Wook) and with breathtaking shots of rural Korean villages, Sohn: The Guest is an incredible work of story telling, choreography and art into the world of Asian horror.

A different type of a serial killer story

I've watched real life and many fictional documentaries and stories on serial killers, the initial summary of this drama feels like cliche and non-interesting but honestly it is different. Firstly, if you have watched something like Death Note then you would feel that this is vaguely simillar to its plot, but if you have not then you are in for a treat. What I personally liked was the insane plot twists of the drama, you know they rush things quickly so they are giving you something new. Fact wise, I really learnt a lot about serial killers, MPD and law system. How these cases can get squeezed out disregarding justice. I felt like when actually the truly identity of Gap Dong was revealed the drama got monotonous and that's a bit sad.

The acting is okay and excellent of the main characters, excluding Dr Oh which seems a bit exaggerated or superficial. Lee Joon really made himself up for a psycho role, I think he delivered it really well. The music is pretty epic as well, the soundtracks are incredible and the OSTs are amazing. I've noticed that people classified this drama as "disturbing" but it really depends. To my level this is not that disturbing. What was actually disturbing was how much sympathy was given to a psychopath which is utterly controversial.

Boring but great fashion

The story is boring,, i watched it because i was recommended for a yandere, but i was disappointed. He is a soft yandere.
Actors were quite handsome and great fashion. The story is too predictable It has some plot twists but were boring but it does reflect more believable actions instead of dramatic actions taken by characters. Overall, happy go lucky drama. The only interesting character was the villain.

The music was good overall, but nothing fabulous. The locations were quite beautiful. Sometimes you feel like things escalated pretty quickly. The company setting was kinda boring.

Heck that was BRUTAL

I remember how i started watching this, I just finished Oh! my sweet liar and wanted something new. I didn't even check what the drama was about, it had subs on Youtube and I was there lol. First thing I noticed was the drama is not cheap, the actors were beautiful, the costumes were extravagant and expensive. Secondly the story was well thought, but it became fairly brutal mentally to watch pretty soon. Not even like reaching 20 eps there was a rape scene, and it was so brutal. Don't keep faith on the characters, they will betray you. Amazing acting by the cast, I really liked Prince Yuerong, and still I would ship Hibiscus with him no buts. I hated Yuan Feibai from the start lmao, but I was kinda partial to him later on.

Someone in the Youtube comments said that he has eyes liked the Buddha (gg) and bruh I can't stop thinking about his eyes after that. It DOES look like the buddha's and that makes him look sacred. The actor of Non-white did a very good job doing double roles, amazing in fact that I actually thought they were two different people. I really liked Jinxiu as well, and I know the audience did as well. Do read the novel of this drama Mujin Hua Xi Yue Jin Xiu which would really give a lot of emphasis to the story. A girl in the youtube comments shed light onto some of the characters in the story after probs reading the novel, and boyyyy if you watch the drama after reading the novel, it would explain a lot of plot holes. There were weird stuff on feibai's part tbh, like some stuff he did was very suspicious.

The music of the drama is super good and beautiful, I really liked the OSTS. Overall an amazing drama to watch, it's not light comedy at all and has some insane plot twists and a secret hidden backstory with the novel.

Torturing Drama but Amazing Acting

I honestly started off this drama because i was bored and wanted a yandere character, i remember picking it off a few years ago and dropping it in the first few episodes. But honestly i still gave it a chance, Idk what to say apparently interesting story about war and its hardships. It is kinda biased on nationalism on Korea's part tho. In terms of characters, I told myself if this guy became the Yandere character i will give this drama 10/10, and yes I gave it that. I cannot believe it. Never heard of this type of a scenario ever before and I've read so many yandere stories. It's amazing how someone's persona can change so much due to trauma.

Amazing acting of Park Ki Woong, good god he sold it, this man did it. The main lead is very good as well, everything is good except the female lead, idk it's just she is not enough for this type of story. Ueno Rie is so much better to be honest. There are many plot holes in the story mind you, especially when coming to the romance. There should have been much more romance to be honest. Ik so many peeps hate the yandere character but to be honest, I pity him an absolute lot. At a certain point I wondered what on earth he was fighting for and did he have a heart at the end, looks like he did apparently. It's crazy how war can rip off friendships and relationships, as a victim myself from a war ridden country for many years, I can contribute to this fact.

The music is probably what made me going from the first few episodes which were boring af, amazing OST's in this drama. The side characters were pretty handsome af too, I think some of them were handsome than the main leads haha. Overall, an overbearing torturing drama with a true portrayal of what war does to people and their relationships. Fell totally in interest with the complex character of the yandere here, it does not fail to disappoint.
