An Attempt to Express my love for Gu Wei and Lin Zhixiao

Let's get straight to the point: I loved this drama. I found myself very attached to the main couple, I bawled while watching the finale. (It aired the day after my birthday, I was eating my birthday cake while watching it hahaha) I finished it the day it finished airing but I've finally managed to gather my thoughts coherently about just how much I loved watching this couple grow. I'd been anticipating this drama for a long time and when the first episode finally aired I thought I was living in a fever dream. It just felt unreal to see Yang Zi and Xiao Zhan and Lin Zhixiao and Gu Wei on my screen. I loved their characters, especially Dr. Gu Wei. The way Xiao Zhan portrayed Dr. Gu Wei's emotions really moved me, it felt raw and genuine. I liked Lin Zhixiao's bubbliness, and though sometimes she'd day some questionable things, they'd get resolved and explained later. (That's Dr. Gu's doing) I don't really watch modern romance cdramas because of their long length, but I was pleasantly surprised about just how much I enjoyed this drama. I felt like I fell in love while watching too. (Also... watching this was huge BI PANIC ahaha) I was giggling and twirling whenever they said some romantic things to one another, watching this drama was just what I needed after a tiring day! Their character growth as their romance progressed was refreshing to see. And I fell in LOVE with the OST, especially the theme song. This drama was definitely my cup of tea, though I'd understand why some people wouldn't agree with me. I'm the type of watcher who is completely fine with tooth rotting fluff, I don't care for a plot, I just wanted to see them happily together. (and we DID see that T^T) While watching the finale, there were many tears streaming down my face. I was soo happy seeing them married and living their lives with their child.
I basically repeated myself throughout this review, but I recommend to those who love healing romance dramas! I'm a bit hesitant to write down this bit but I've always seen marriage as a scary topic/concept/thing (?), as what I've been exposed to in my IRL life, so watching this drama and this couple made me rethink a bit of what I had thought before. (Though it isn't the first time a drama had ever made me rethink the concept of marriage "Because This Is My First Life" it definitely made me see it in a far more positive light.) Overall, the cast did an incredible job bring this drama to life (and i give them a thousand thanks for recording their duet for the theme song) and I finished this drama feeling like a satisfied watcher! Here's the line that stuck with me the most: GW - "If we're to old to remember anything, I hope that loving you is the last thing I forget."
