Super Good Plot But Heartbreaking Ending!

Can I just say that I've never been very invested in short series, until this drama came along? Like literally all of the episodes were keeping me on my toes as I impatiently waited for the next episodes to be aired! Unfortunately, my hopes of having a happy ending were shattered when I watched the final episode. At first, I thought that maybe the ML might not have died, but it was heartbreaking to see him passed away in the arms of the FL. Who would have thought that things would end this way! Am seriously thinking of writing my own alternate happy ending for this couple!

I love the chemistry between the casts and I would have to say that their acting made it enjoyable throughout the show. The cast of the ML had great potential and his eyes speaks so much words. He's so good with the way he acted with his eyes and his angles! Like damn, how could someone look this handsome and perfect? The cast of the FL is a natural actress as well, seeing as she has acted in a lot of dramas before this so she's equally experienced. But overall, I would say that the ML really shined in this drama. Don't get me started on his abs. That is probably one of the reasons why this drama was such a hit!

The plot is very intense and keeps me expecting what could happen next as each episode slowly connect the dots. There doesn't seem to have any loopholes here so I would say that the scriptwriter did a fantastic job! The fact that both uncle and nephew were vying over a lady was a very interesting plot, I would say. Honestly, I never knew that the uncle in this drama would be this hot and captivating. It truly blessed my eyes.

I really like that this wasn't a typical ancient xianxia drama or a modern drama, it was very refreshing to watch the timeline set in the middle of a tumultuous times of war. Really loving the costumes, I especially love the outfits that the ML had on, especially the military uniform.

Definitely love the choice of song here, they really place the songs at the right timing in this drama, making it very emotional for me everytime there's a heartbreaking scene.

Would I rewatch? Definitely is a must once I have moved on from having to accept that the ML has died in the end. This story had so much potential, what a pity that they ended up giving us a terrible ending, despite the fantastic plot.

Not for the weak-hearted, but I genuinely enjoyed the story! I'm hoping that there's a season 2 with a happy ending for making us heartbroken from watching the 1st season.

Super cute and short RomCom Drama!

First of all, I love the simplicity of this drama, no harem plots, no overthrowing of kings, just a plain simple arranged marriage life in a General's mansion with a little bit of politics to spice up the couple's lives. This is very different from the typical General dramas, but it does has a mixture of Fake Princess plots to General Lady's fiery personality to the amazing cooking skills from the Chef Hua.

The plot is super fast-paced and kicks off the boring fillers and draggy scenes. For a short drama, this is really good! And they had casted in fresh faces so it is very refreshing to see!

I love the main leads, their acting may not be top-notch as this is their first few dramas but they did improve along the way. Overall, their acting wasn't very cringe or unbearable, it was decent.

Their chemistry was amazing, has the lovebirds feels. I may not be able to feel it from the start as it was pretty awkward at first, but they gradually clicked and became a loving couple. Especially their interactions, it was so romantic!

Female lead is very brave and fiery at the same time, but she can be bubbly, sweet and caring at times. She is not afraid of being bullied and always stands up for herself.

Male lead is portrayed as an introvert, weak scholar, but he is very protective of his little wife and knows when to stand up for her when it is right. And he respects his wife and is a noble man too, I salute this kind of guy! Just that the acting was a bit stiff but, it was still bearable.

Supporting characters added on to the character development where the loving sister-in-law took care of the female lead and she always gave good advices to her. She is very supportive of her, but can be portrayed as weak due to her domineering husband. Her husband which is the older brother is more strict and harsh, but gradually turned into a loving husband and brother-in-law. And there's the supportive dad who will watch out for the female lead and takes care of her too! It is very heartwarming to see how closely-knitted they are as a family!

The costumes worn by the leads felt repetitive but they were pretty decent, gave me the Japanese vibes which is super refreshing! The production didn't felt like a low-cost one and the soundtracks were not bad, there were not much but it does set the atmosphere at the right scenes. Editing was alright, just a few scenes here and there that were snipped off, making the whole transition not entirely smooth. Again, I'm not complaining as it is still bearable to watch!

Overall, I would recommend this drama to anyone who wants to watch it as it is definitely worth your time! Besides, it's only four episodes of 50mins+- each, that you can easily catch it on Youtube. I would definitely rewatch again!

Super fast-paced Short Story!

First time giving a review here so pardon me if I give too much explanation cos I'm super hyped after watching this show!

I was intrigued by the plot since I LOVE HISTORICAL SHOWS and furthermore, it's time travel!!

I was scrolling through the reviews and was shocked to see that most of them says that its only 3 episodes with 50mins+- duration at most.

I was like why not give it a try to see if its a good show or not. I mean there's no harm, right? HAHA

After watching, I felt like the start of the show was just meh but it slowly progressed and I fell completely in love with the show! AND THE SHOW WAS SUPER FAST-PACED! I freaking love the fact that there were no nonsense fillers and the draggy plots lol!

I love how the story revolves around the leads and showed the really good chemistry between both of them.

Female lead is very bubbly, optimistic, resilient and very funny! I can never get enough of her because she's so likeable and I could totally relate to her!

Male lead is more of a wary, paranoid, full of motives kind of monarch, understandable since he grew up in a political environment. There were some great character development here as he eventually warmed up to her and turned into a loving husband.

As for the supporting characters, I just cringed throughout their acting maybe because they weren't very experienced and couldn't portray the emotions much. So, it didn't make me focus on them, rather I was focused on the main leads instead.

There's a good amount of harem plots, jealousy, plotting for the throne and what not but what excited me the most was the female lead just trying to survive amidst the flying arrows aimed at her and she adapted in the new environment relatively quickly!!

Their love scenes are simply amazing and I'm a sucker for such lovey dovey expressions so the production really did a great job at it. Plus I could feel the emotions that the leads are feeling, which is simply amazing!

Costumes are really well-designed for a seemingly low-cost production like this show, not that I'm complaining because I thoroughly enjoyed the entire show!

The music was superb, I love historical chinese songs in general so the selection of soundtracks fitted well with each scenes. Have to say editing was great as well despite the short duration per each episode, very smooth but there were one or two scenes which were abruptly cut so the transition didn't felt too smooth.

Other than that, I would say that the show is overall fantastic and I would recommend anyone to give this show a try! I, myself would rewatch again HEHE.

heart-fluttering, nostalgic story!

Finally understood the hype for this show! It's a sweet romance between the main leads with a mix of nostalgic friendship memories!

First and foremost, chemistry between both leads are simply amazing. At first it was awkward, but I assume it was part of character development lol.

Male lead is cold, emotionless, serious man with a strong passion of leading his team to be a world champion and also fulfilling his own dreams when he was young. He might seem very cold, but he's the most sentimental dude i have ever seen. And the more mean he is, the more he cares about the person. He has a sad past and friendships breakup that turned him into this person, but eventually the female lead came into his life and warmed his icy heart!!

Female lead is bubbly, loving, likable, adorable woman who is a genius in programming. She fell in love with the male lead at first sight which seems unrealistic, but oh wells that's how the story progresses. She turns into stalker-mode and starts to pursue the male lead, but actually it would have been better if it went naturally 'cos there were many factors that could have led them to meet each other and fall in love instead.

Here comes the plot, at first it feels too much disturbing as she stalks him just to find out who he is and where he lives. After that, they were entangled in a relationship by accident and misunderstanding. The male lead gradually fell in love with her and the relationship turned real so it got better from here. Would have wished that the way the female lead pursued the male lead was different from the plot here as it felt unrealistic and impossible to happen in real life. Like they had common topic such as cybersecurity or they were related by families or the fact that her professor actually knew the male lead.

Aside from the main love story, the show focuses on the male lead's past friendship with his former teammates. He might have been holding a grudge for the past ten years, but eventually they managed to bury the hatchet and became close again. The pace felt just right and I felt the memories were useful in giving us a bigger picture as to why the male lead turned this way.

The side couple's story was sweet too, Yaya and Mi. The other one which the show didn't focus much on was Ai Qing and Wu Bai. Wu Bai is a very interesting character due to his mysterious vibes. Even though he had lesser scenes and little lines, but it was what made him mysterious. So, I was actually very fond of his character aside from the main leads.

There comes the typical parents not liking the male lead and trying to separate them which the male lead eventually convinced them in the end and they managed to accept him. And also, his grandfather, his stepmother, his K&K kids who were on his side that got him and the female lead together was simply fun to watch. They were the ones who made this relationship happened so kudos to them!

The love rivals were not powerful enough to separate the main leads, but thanks to them, they made the main leads grew to love and understand each other even more lol.

Now comes my favorite part, the soundtracks! I love their main OST, its super addictive and they have many great soundtracks!

Production seem high-cost, seeing that they had to film in hotels, different houses and a club. There were quite a lot of product placements so this show must have been highly raved.

Female lead's wardrobe collection was cute which fits her personality. I love the male lead's choice of clothes, just full black which made him so handsome and stylish.

Other than that, I would actually recommend this show to anyone who wants to watch. It got me quite hooked after I was trying to move on from a previous show. Now, I'm actually hyped to watch the spin-off of this show so that I could get a glimpse of Wu Bai and Ai Qing's love story as well as snippets of the main leads getting married. I would definitely re-watch again if I could!

Very light-hearted and sweet story!

First of all, I gave a really high rating which I have never done before, because it's super good and worth watching! I truly enjoyed the entire plot and it wasn't boring throughout! It kept me on my toes as I was super excited and looking forward to every episode! I would say this is the first drama that had made me so hooked into it and I have never felt bored or felt as though there were draggy scenes or unnecessary filters! It all fell into place, I would say!

Moving on, I'm going to talk about the plot and I find it very interesting when I came across it on YouTube. Two different people of different characters and personality collide and fell in love. Like what they say, opposite attracts! And although they were in a typical contractual marriage which is often seen in most dramas, but it turned out really well and unique! They may have typical rivals but it is what made them firmly believe in their love for each other and deeply trust in each other!

Male lead is a cold, emotionless, prodigy professor. His major is statistics if I'm not wrong! He comes off cold at first, but eventually warmed up to the female lead! And, he's super duper nice and always helps the fl whenever she encounters trouble. Most guys would be impatient if they have to handle someone like the fl, but he's the exact opposite and that's what makes them compliment each other!

Female lead is a very optimistic, bubbly, gullible university student and though she may be clumsy and makes trouble sometimes, often giving viewers second-hand embarrassment due to her actions, but she gradually turned into very mature and able to make her own decisions! And most importantly, she trusts the ml wholeheartedly and openly communicates with him which makes them have not much issues!

They may have certain misunderstandings of course, but it is usually cleared up very quickly which is really great and more realistic irl!

Side couples doesn't interfere with the main couple and they have their own fluttering love stories which seems to encounter more love hurdles than the main couple lol.

Basically, the fl's elder sister is in rs with ml's best friend, so imagine them giving each other advices, the interactions between ml and his best friend is more funny lol. And then we have fl's best friend and her other male best friend who are on and off together. But the fl's best friend gives really great relationship advice!

As for the rivals, the first male rival made ml more jealous and more aware of his feelings for fl. Eventually, he took up the courage to confess to her, accompanied by a sweet little kiss which I had been waiting since forever! And also, can I just say how unique it is that a report is generated to test if ml loves fl lol. It's very interesting!

For the next female rival, it didn't felt more like a rival as this time the ml and fl are true to each other and love each other. The fl trusts ml a lot and they are basically impossible to be separated. Their love stayed strong throughout.

For both rivals, they eventually respected the couple's decision to stick together and gave them their blessings in order to see them happy. Really like their mature thinking.

Okay, let's not forget the funny and lovable grandpa who made this relationship happen! If not for him, this contractual marriage wouldn't have happened and this love between them wouldn't have developed! This grandpa is my favorite character after the main leads!

Production doesn't seem low cost as it mostly revolves around the campus, the house and fl's different workplaces. Music is not bad, just a few soundtracks which were kind of blocked by YouTube so i can't really get so engrossed in the songs. Can't complain since I saw the comments and this issue persisted in most platforms.

Outfits for the fl is very limited and repetitive, but it shows the realistic financial situation of her as she is supposed to be poor. Ml has more variations but he wear suits more often, so imagine him looking so hot even with or without his glasses! sorry fangirl moment right here. I think the side couples had more outfits than the fl, but that's because their financial situation is better than her so it's more realistic this way.

Acting for fl is a natural even though she may be a rookie but she portrayed a university student really well. As for ml, he's an experienced actor and he was really smooth too. The entire interactions between them were meant to be awkward and they acted the scenes really well haha. Side couples acting are good too, so it's a bonus.

Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who wants to watch something to kill your boredom or haven't gotten over an old drama as this drama, though it might let you be invested, but it's definitely more light-hearted with no typical breakups, divorces or sad endings.

And of course, I would definitely watch it again 'cos I love this drama so much myself. After this drama, mr zhang definitely raised my standards for a perfect husband lol. But, this kind of man is pretty much inexistent *cries*

Refreshing and Funnier!

Simply prefer season 2 for the alternate universe plot at the start where it is different from season 1. Instead of having the leukemia disease at the start, the female lead met male lead in a different kind of settings such as the masquerade ball. It makes it more natural than the first season plot!

Despite the different plot, they still included elements from the first season which gives me a bit of nostalgic and the female lead is able to remember bits and pieces of season 1 flashbacks which makes it pretty interesting!

Love the chemistry between the casts, it's even way better than season 1! Male lead is more funnier and flirtier in this season than the first while female lead feels more calm and collected in this season. I like the fact that the male lead is the one pursuing the female lead this time!

I love the supporting couples as well, Wen Li and Jia Fei which had their own side story and it is simply amazing! While Chu Yan and Xiao You were pretty cute together and sweet as well!

Now comes the villains which I think are the most dumbest addition to this story? Unlike the first season villains which had more suspense and makes it more nerve-wrecking, these 2 villains weren't even half as good as the first one. Felt as though they were freaking childish and just casually pinning blame on the main leads. The male lead could simply settle them easily lol.

Production doesn't seem low cost and the outfits were great because there's more variations for the female lead now. And I love her hairstyle too! The male lead however, his hairstylist doesn't seem to put in much effort for his hair, not sure is it just me? Soundtrack has the same selection from first season and have 1 or 2 new songs for this season, not so picky about it in general!

Overall, I felt like the beginning started off well but the ending was quite boring for me as it felt as though scriptwriter ran out of plot and decided to add draggy scenes to end it off lol. I might watch again, but only if I'm feeling it 'cos the ending is just meh for me.
