It was a slow start in the first episode and I was hesitant because I wasn't too much of a fan of Li Jiaqi in Meteor Garden, but she definitely delivered as Su CanCan in Wait My Youth. I loved Zhao Yiqin in Accidentally in Love even though I didn't like the show as a whole, but this solidifies it and it was great to see him as a main lead playing a character similar to YiYang.

I didn't like that they had TYT and LGZ together at the end. It would have made sense for them to end up together earlier on since they had so much in common.

In school dramas, I have yet to see much passion put into the kisses but the chemistry between Yiqin and Jiaqi is just so sweet and real. It really made me squirm and squeal to see their interactions. It was also a sweet love story to see their progression into a friendship and into a romance, especially seeing Tianye's love and care grow and CanCan letting go of her crush of seven years for something more.

This show does a great job at doing a throwback with the music that was up and coming at the time, and then moving onto the popular phones at the time. It was very nostalgic to see the stereos and audio cassette players/Walkmans that they used. It was especially heartbreaking to see that Su CanCan's dad who runs an audio cassette shop go out of business because he couldn't compete with how music was becoming more accessible, but it also warmed my heart to see that Tianye and CanCan both pursued their love for music in the industry itself.

I highly recommend it and will be doing a rewatch of this, because I cannot seem to let the main leads go.
