This isn't my first longer 50+ episode drama. I have seen Father is Strange, Five Enough, Jang Bori is here, My Only One, All About Mom, My Golden Life and now just finished Sister is Alive.

I had high expectations because it was the same writer as Jang Bori, and I love me some Jang Bori. When watching these longer dramas, you are going to see all the cliches and eye rolling moments. You will also be able to point out somewhere between 1 to 10 plot holes depending on how good the writing is. This show has about 40 to 50 glaring plot holes, and I am not exaggerating even a little bit. The writer clearly lost control of this somewhere after episode 20ish, and never got it back on track. The acting is great, especially Kim Da Som. So without spoiling I will list a few grips.

- This is supposed to be about 3 woman overcoming tragedy. At some point the writer just stopped including the character Kang Ha Ri, who you think is going to be a major part of the story, if not the main protagonist. There are supporting characters in this show that get almost double the amount of screen time. She is just completely forgotten about, and doesn't even get a story line of her own. For someone who is a lead in this show, it is very strange, and the first time I have seen a lead get completely ignored this badly in a 50+ drama.

- Kang Ha Ri's sister is played by an young actress that has actually been the lead in other dramas. They also ignore her. There are completely uninteresting characters that get a ton of screen time, but someone like her is ignored when she can actually carry a show on her own. It's baffling.

- The show is almost insulting with the way they portray autism and blindness.

- Another drama where the poor people who do bad things to try and get rich end up not learning their lessons and do not receive a redemption. There are 3 main villains, the two ones from a poor background get the shaft, while the rich girl learns her lesson and gets a redemption ending in a bittersweet way.

- All the bad characters are female. I understand that every story needs a villain, and sometimes that villain should be female because that's how numbers work. But in this drama, all the main bad characters are women. It gets kind of old. (these women are crazy stereotype)

I am not saying don't watch this one. It has all the fun stuff you want in a drama. You just have to tolerate that the writers simply didn't care to make any sense in this one. It has all the drama, but you have to constantly fight off the fact that you notice plot hole after plot hole after plot hole. Some episodes it happens 3 or 4 times. I expect plot holes when you have to write 54 hours of content. I don't expect them to happen this much. I wasn't rolling my eyes because of the silliness that dramas provide. I was rolling my eyes on how bad the writer just didn't get how some of the stuff didn't make sense in the context of the story.

This comes off as more of a rant, but I feel this story was wildly incoherent, and this is the worst of the 50+ episode dramas I have watched.
