A good remake and excellent work on it's own

I watched the original before the remake out bcs I wanted to know what kind of drama my fav actress participated in. Ngl the OG is a masterpiece and I really am happy bcs Jeon Yeobeen got the role because she is indeed a good fit.

Without being biased, this remake is a good remake because they stick to the main plot. Isn't it the most important point for a remake? Ofc it doesn't give you the exact same vibe like the OG ver because it's a korean remake. They had to adjust to their culture and change some small details and that's what makes it also interesting. Why would you watch an exact copy of OG? I honestly don't understand why people want this remake to be 100% same as the OG. The story also clearer and easier to digest rather than OG because they explain some points (which OG didn't) at cost of cutting some scenes I'd love to see (eg; when the trio gave lesson to the iljins who bullied FL's lil bro)

The acting department is also superb. Jeon Yeobeen ate and left no crumbs. She makes us easily differentiate Minju, Junhee, and Minju when she pretended to be Junhee not only by the outer appearance. The look in their eyes, the way they talk, their voice, the way they walk. Even when Minju pretended to be Junhee, her voice is also different (½ minju ½ junhee). This kind of role is really Jeon Yeobeen's forte. Minju, Junhee in Minju body, Junhee in her 20s, Junhee in her 30s, and Minju when she copied Junhee. She played 5 roles with distinct characteristics and gave justice to each of them. The emotions are just right and hit the spot. Maybe if I wasn't her fans I would think that Minju and Junhee are played by two different actresses.

For Ahn Hyoseop, I really think he has done an excellent job. To portray a character slightly different than the OG can't be counted as a bad acting. He understood his character well. His eyes were so impressive in every emotional scene. His eyes can immediately make you more immersed in their story and feel their emotions. Nam Siheon being more mature than LZW is not a sin. And for his style in 40s, I also found it funny at first because I expected him to look dandy. But when I make peace with this, I'm fully understand why he chose to go with this look. It's because he wanted to show how much pain Siheon went through. Siheon lost his precious best friend and had to wait for 20 years to meet Junhee again. It's understandable that he didn't have any energy left to dress up because he spent most of his energy and time to save his loved ones.

IMHO, Kang Hoon's Jung Ingyu is sweeter than the OG. He did a good job. He doesn't have many dialogues, but he delivered every emotion well. I got goosebumps when Ingyu fulfilled Minju's last wish. (You know what I mean, right?)

The three main leads didn't overpower each other when they were together. A perfect balance. I want to see them more..

The OSTs are also good and fit each scene. Seo Ji Won - Gather my tears is a good choice for time slip song. It does give you a nostalgic feeling. My personal fav is Isaac Hong - Be With You and Kim Minseok Melomance - Never Ending Story.

If you are searching for ATCY reviews before deciding to watch it or not, please give them a chance. I promise it's a good remake and also an excellent on its own. If you feel confused, do not hesitate to approach me on Twitter at @intoyourtime. I will gladly explain. Thank you ?
