ep 18 review spoilers ahead

1,In an effort to save her Tianyi uses himself...now they are both cursed...

2/princess is with yu (he has no idea) and is trying to give her medicine but she seems to be out of it.

3.In another rushed (but dramatic) scene the man who raped princess shows up and helps her escape the emperor. She tells him she hates him/he makes her want to vomit. To protect her he takes an arrow and kills himself, all the while begging her for forgiveness. Princess commits suicide by killing herself...

3.Meanwhile, Ling'er and Tianyi awaken but still look cursed. He says that at least they can die together. They pledge eternal love....

4.Regent goes to where the blood flower is...now her hair has color/is black...she tries to seduce him//he is immune to it. We get a flashback and learn that this woman was once the guardian of the celestial doors but had her heart broken and fell into darkness. she now maintains never ending beauty by granting the wishes of disheartened women. He kills her....

5.This cures Ling'er and Tianyi who celebrate the happy news by making love (i think)

6.someone who looks like Tianyi finds princess and says he will take her home (i thought she was dead) meanwhile regent (who constantly is holding cloth over his face) says to Yu that if he doesn't tell him who his master is, princess will die. Yu folds, and regent now has the box relating to the goddess that should not be opened...

ep 17 spoilers

1.While Tianyi is back to impressing and seducing Ling'er princess plots revenge. Tianyi takes Ling'er up in the air, and she is amazed. Tianyi and Ling'er share a dramatic kiss in the sky. It seems this curse will turn her into a living corpse

2.Regent and emperor have an honest talk. The regent shares that he believes that Ling'er is connected to the goddess of shooting stars. He expresses concern (it is unspoken but he is concerned about Tianyi being attached to her...maybe he is her destined lover) and he asks him if notices anything when he is intimate...Tianyi lies and says no.

3.Tianyi rushes to Ling'er's side as she is in agony. Regent sends out doctors to discover the nature of this illness. After learning what the illness is the regent puts two and two together and sends guards for princess

4.Tianyi is in tears at her bed side and then angrily tells her he has not consented to her death (awwww)

5.Meanwhile...a white haired lady appears....

ep 16 spoilers ahead

1.The princess is able to drive this guard off by threatening to kill herself. She then tries to make herself clean but is naturally upset (she was raped!) and feels like she has nothing, not even the dignity of a woman.

2.Meanwhile, for reasons never explained, Ling'er knows that if she burns the regents zither it will sever his connection to his wife and keep him in this world (kind of selfish) but it works

3.Back to Yu, who uses a map left by Jishu who has since left to unlock Jishu's hidden chamber of goodies. there is also something there pertaining to Ling'er that 'must never be opened'

4.It seems this is Jishu's will. he shows up, fights the empress, they stab each other in the heart and die side by side, talking about old times long since past, as the sky city she worked on is destroyed

5. (now its getting weird) princess uses her blood to summon 'blood flower' a demon that doesn't seem to be male or female. the target of hate seems to be Ling'er, because she has everything (the emperor...respect...virginity) while she has nothing at all (and she once thought she had it all). princess says she is willing to die for this revenge.

ep 15 spoilers ahead

1.The regent meets with princess's brother and tells him that the signal will be 'throwing his wine'

2.Princess is dressed and ready to get married....(what follows is the biggest bit of nonsense and I am not sure if I like it yet)

3.The regent in front of everyone announces that he is going to take the role of king. The Xu brother then proudly announces that he killed the late emperor---our Ling'er surprises the regent and stabs him in the back. While the regent is bleeding out Xu summons his soldiers, and fights with the emperor--then the regent kills Xu. Then we learn that the regent is actually been dirtying his hands, taking down all the opposition to the crown. he tricked the emperor in order to trick his enemies, and made himself out to be a bad guy. He did this because the xu family is very powerful. (this is like a triple quadruple betrayal--Ling'er betrays the emperor, then she betrays the regent, then Xu betrays everyone, then the regent betrays Xu.....)

4.Now both Ling'er and Emperor are sad...

5. (this is really twisted) so princess of the xu (the one in love with the emperor/supposed to wed him) is sobbing in her room. in shock. not knowing what to do. she's lost everything. one of the emperor's guards (he is the best looking guard/can't remember his name) arrives and asks if she wants to escape with him...the princess stares at him and then there is a flashback....apparently once she tried to seduce the emperor but he left....she inhaled a white mist and turns around and he is back...they hook up. but wait! it's actually this guard. this is def. date rape. the emperor found out but because of his loyalty kept it a secret....(might explain why she is so in love with him)

6.unsurprisingly, the princess has a bad reaction to this realization

ep 14 spoilers ahead

1.Ling'er continues to butter up the regent (he can't be this dumb; her plan is pretty transparent)

2.Ling'er sneaks out to warn Tianyi who is visibly depressed and apathetic. He basically tells her to go away and that they have nothing to do with each other (are they in cahoots and this is some play they are acting out to gain the trust of the regent? are they that smart? i hope so)

3.The regent swears to her that Tianyi will die tomorrow. Meanwhile Tianyi meets with his elite squad...they are planning something

4.Princess visits him, professes her love, we see a long montage dedicated to her, and then she admits that she knows someone else is in his heart...

ep 13 review spooilers ahead

1.So servant girl explains to Tianjun that the red flower on her back is an ill omen, a flower of the underworld, that kills normal people. But he is protected as the lover of the flower deity (i sense a mistake) It seems the yang amulet was embedded in her. She tells him that if he kills her then he can have the amulet. She says that if she dies, the deity dies, if the deity lives, then she dies. For her love, and desire to see him happy, she jumps to her death....

2.Members of the star court show up to kill Tianjun, but he escapes....

3.It seems Ling'er is pretending to like the regent in order to help Tianyi. Tiany doesn't know (well, the old saying that if you want to fool your enemy you have to start with your friends...) meanwhile Tianyi is taking solace in the arms of his harem, and continues to rebuff the advances of the princess..

3.Back to Yu and Jishu...Yu is just too funny...Jishu tells him of his love with Riozui and Yu says 'not only are you a master of puzzles but a master of love' (enough said) and then toasts him

4.The regent continues to humiliate Tianyi who shows himself as a fool in love, and he plots--Ling'er overhears him planning to attack on the day of the wedding...

ep 12 review spoilers ahead

1.Yu brings Jishu to his home and proceeds to faun over him and calls him shifu

2.The regent steals the golden feather and changes all the servants. This further weakens the emperor and makes him vulnerable

3.Ling'er wants to help despite Tianyi telling her to, well, f*** off, and she returns to her room to see the strange guy from earlier there with a zither. he claims to be the palace musician and plays a song. because of her improved hearing she can hear the players pain in the music and starts talking about love, loss, and heartache involving a woman...he gives her some cryptic advice about a birthday and making requests...

4.the princess (she is getting on my nerves) is concerned about getting rid of Ling'er, whom she perceives as a threat (honestly, with all this going on you would think she would take the time to focus on consolidating the emperor's power)

5.Tianjun practices martial arts...

6.Ling'er changes into the pretty dress (see the poster, it's that one) and says she will play the zither for the regent

7.A maid of the princess steps on the train of her dress as guards take her away, on Tianyi's order. She trips...the zither snaps int 2, and the regent (whom I guess Ling'er knew as the stranger) loses it and proceeds to try to kill her. He nearly suceeds but stops when he sees the mark of the godess..s

8.The emperor takes her away, intimating she will be the next mistress of his home, and then it looks like he is going to rape her. Then he tells her that she could never move his heart and can't even compare to 'her' before striding away.

9.An extremely angry Tianyi incapacitates guards, busts into the room, uses his whip to reel her in, and forces a bunch of kisses on her (....has the yank awakened?) Looks like! he angrily announces his love confession and claims ownership (literally). At first she is upset but this announcement seems swayed by this confession (It seems Tianjun's worst nightmare has come true....) but then she rejects him to be with the regent? (seems like this is actually not the real her...)

10.Meanwhile Tianjun and servant girl climb a mountain, and she is about to show him her mark....

ep 10 spoilers ahead

1.We open to empress, revelling in her plan of world domination. We learn she killed her husband and is trying to avoid 'never being abandoned again'

2.Change scene, the princess recovers ruo fei (slain by the assassins while protecting Tianyi) and clearly knows martial arts. Reminds me of a ninga. When the body returns, Tianyi observes blood form his eyes/mouth and then body is examined. then we learn that poison on the arrow killed him, there is no cure, and that this poison was banned by the emperor's father. Now they know that the regent is behind this...and Tianyi is planning to not just get even but to sent a strong message to his enemies...

3.Minister Xue is summoned before the emperor, asked to pay for his crimes, and the minister admits to everything but is so smug that he can get off...it seems Minister Xue is to be executed and now the regent will be notified (why do I feel like he is innocent and this is part of a big plot?)

4.Yu is stunned and baffled by JIshu's appearance, and Jishu and him escape

5.Change scene: Tianjun is really enjoying his new life...he is quite drunk,.

6.The regent intervenes and the emperor is force to release him (...plot?)

7.the princess it turns out is Minister Xue's brother. He is quite angry with her as he knows she helped Tianyi...he seems a bit violent.

8.Ling'er meanwhile delivers food to the emperor, he lashes out and throws it to the ground only to find out it is her. She wants to help him, he sends her out (probably because he doesn't want anyone to know she is a weakness...)

9.But Ling'er goes back in, and actually sees him crying (!) she tries to comfort him (not in that way! just in a friendly way)

10.Back to Tianjun. His servant girl seems to have some ninja skills. She follows him to the star pavilion and tells him 'from darkness shall arise light'. whatever that means, it involves destroying the special candelabra from the beginning of the series. After a fight with the star lords, it falls to the ground, there is a weird darkness, then a weird light and a black flower on the ground. The two escape, and while coughing up blood Tianjun suspects it is an important clue...

*i liked this episode because of the intrigue and the chance to see a vulnerable Tianyi

ep 8 spoilers ahead

1. Tianyi continues his act of 'I am a jerk and don't care for you' by mistreating Ling'er while the Empress applauds Tianyi's meticulous plans to use this incident to discredit her/make her seem power hungry.

2.Unfortunately, Tianyi's unwillingness to include others in his plotting backfires (as lack of communication so often does). After locking Ling'er in Yu, the softhearted subordinate, helps her escape and reveals he never wrote a letter to her and even tells her that Tianyi intends to kill her

3.On the other hand, Tianyi is upset that Ling'er is unable to see his kind efforts of keeping her locked up for protection (for such a smart guy he is extremely dense). On the other hand, this may be part of his own plan to keep her from developing feelings for him (actually this may be the case) and so he knowingly went to Yu, knowing his soft-heartedness, and planned this out.

4.Unfortunately, they are intercepted by Tianyi who seems unphased by this escape and locks her up again. Shortly after he has a charged encounter with Tianjun. You can really see the contrast in their characters: Tianyi is both smug and dismissive while Tianjun is rigid and judgmental, not to mention confused as he can't really read Tianyi's motives. Sure, he suspects he wants to bring down humankind but he does not know why he is interfering with Ling'er...

5.Tianyi lightly asks Tianjun if he ever thought that his rejection of Ling'er would sour any future chance to be with her (hmmm...foreshadowing?) but he insists to Tianjun that she hates him as if to reassure him (and maybe himself). Tianjun it seems is collaborating with him to help Ling'er....

6.The empress learns of Tianjun's collaboration and has him arrested.

7.Meanwhile, Yu (unaware he is being manipulated by Tianyi) is prepared to help Ling'er escape (as Tianyi planned). However, he hears that her father is to be executed, rushes back, and they go to rescue him (I bet the Empress engineered this to lure her out). Yu interfered with Tianyi's Flying Light (a kind of weapon?) and we learn that because of this his plans to help her father escape were derailed...so now both know that he is not the devil everyone paints him out to be.

8.Ling'er agrees to marry Tianjun if she releases her father. Behind her, a masked Tianyi shakes his head in warning. But Ling'er is not going down that easily (honestly, when did she magically get good at martial arts?) She uses a needle to stun the empress (like her mom?) and with a dagger to the empress's throat forces her to release her father. But the empress can't allow that and hits her, prompting a big battle

9.As Ling'er prepares to escape with her father, she tells Tianjun (...who escaped and is now there?) that the man is actually an assassin in dsiguise and not her father. Tianjun, thinking he is protecting Ling'er, kills this man. In the chaos that follows Yu is captured and only Tianyi and Ling'er manage to escape...

10.Using his mechanical wings, Ling'er and Tianyi escape guards but because of his injury, they fall...

11.We go to the Empress,he is speaking to a medicine man who delivers a potion that can assist in changing appearances. After paying him she immediately has him executed (this man really never saw it coming, and after delivering his life's work...this empress is RUTHLESS) and then she forces Jishu to take this...

*Show is getting better. I was kind of hoping that it was actually her dad who was shot and the empress was lying but turns out that is a no...*

ep 6 spoilers ahead

1.We open to Ling'er awakening in Tianyi's bed. He is asleep beside the bed. In a funny scene she places the blanket on him and tries to sneak out....

2.The prince has his own spies and he learns that his mother no longer allows meals in her room. A maid who ignored this 'died mysteriously'.

3.Change scene the empress is keeping Jinshu hostage. Empress really likes him. Apparently she killed the servant girl whom she describes as 'slut' for speaking to him. She accuses him of wanting another Runzhui, which enrages him. She tells him that she wants their kids together because it allows her to live out her dream of them being together (uh huh. the fact that she is a goddess has nothing to do with it)

4.Change scene: it seems Ling'er is making things up to the emperor by...cooking?

5.We learn Jinshu cannot break free (crown prince finds him)

6.Oddly, it seems that wingkind can only eat...cold food? After eating it she passes out. Also, the empress has an army waiting outside of Tiany's territory--he is in a difficult position because he does not want to trigger a war.

7.We learn from Jishu (who is still talking to crown prince) that if Ling'er ever falls for someone something bad will happen (uh oh). We also learn that the flower amulet is part of a 'yin/yang' amulet and by joining it to its other half, she truly awakens as a goddess. Yin points to the god of shooting star flowers (the flower amulet) the yang points to the god of shooting flower's destruction (sort of like a destroyer figure) Jishu tells him he must find the yang person and kill him (how much you want to bet its Tianyi?) Only after the yang is destroyed does Tianjung have a chance with Ling'er...

8.Tianyi graciously offers to let Ling'er be his consort that way she won't starve to death (oh this is funny) Naturally she refuses. We learn a little more about Tianyi: apparently his father gave him the whip and died when he was 13, leaving him a 'big mess' which he is resentful for. She shares her father is alive but captured. She calls him out for pretending to be evil, and he admits that it is like a protective shield//emotions affect your judgment (true but it takes a lot of courage to trust and love another meaning that is the cowards way out) They have a 'moment' where they both seem to see each other as man and woman....

9.Sadly, Chishu shows up with a message from Tianjung, who reports on the location of her father (I don't like these guys they are keeping important secrets from Ling'er about her fate. She has the right to pick her future). Anyways, Tianyi is clearly irritated and she seems to be aware of this...'jealousy' he is expressing

10.Recognizing a bandage as a ribbon or something of Ling'er's on the emperor's hand, Tianjung confronts him whilst searching for Ling'er. Never one to miss a change to annoy Tianjung (its really easy) he says he has her and he deigned to accept her as a concubine. After a brief battle scene Tianjung asks him why he wants Ling'er, and is risking open war.

11. Surprising me, Tianyi admits that they share the same motive/goal (i.e. to be with Ling'er) (Ling'er lucked out to have to hotties, with status and unique personalities, after her. it also means she will face a number of troubles in future)

-Side Note: Tianjung looks more effeminite 'pretty' but Tianyi has more striking features and he looks kind of 'demonic' or 'devilish' you all noticed this?--

12.Tianjung speaks to the queen and admits he is ready to accept Ling'er as his bride. (I have a feeling Ling'er is going to hate him some day...) He sets about plotting how to coax her back to his side with his mother (he knows her best, so he comes up with the idea of using someone she cares about i.e. the 'exploiting someone's weakness trap')

13Tianyi (he is so adorable) looks extremely annoyed/upset with the fact that he admitted to having feelings for Ling'er to Tianjung. In the past he might have said it to provoke him (I bet) but this time it is true...his cleverly laid plans are now messed up with this new thing called love (sigh...)

14 (I don't like this part) Tianyi basically tells Ling'er he doesn't care about her and that he enjoys seeing her suffer. What follows are scenes designed to make her hate him but it doesn't seem to work (I would clobber him) Not sure if he is testing her because he is emotionally immature or if he is afraid of getting in a relationship, which would pull her into this complicated thing called war and politics

15.Evens so, he still gives her a blanket while she is asleep....

ep 5 spoilers ahead

1.Tianyi congratulates her on her upcoming nuptials and expresses pity for Tianjun's fate. Perhaps out of celebration he digs up some exceptional wine that was hidden by a Master and proceeds to drink it with her. Ling'er is not the kind of person who holds her wine well and in a scene where they are sitting back to back sharing the wine she admits he isn't so annoying (I think she is the type of person who doesn't hold a grudge and can't stay mad)

2.Her reasons for him not being annoying? 1.He pretended to look scary when 'punishing her' but it was an act and he tried to be as gentle as possible 2.His actions helped Yu get out of the Star Court, where he wasn't happy, enabling him to pursue other interests 3.He brought her and Tianjung closer together

3.Tianyi is happy until he hears #3. He snaps that she is annoying (I guess he is feeling jealous and has fallen for her without realizing it...I wish she would tease him but she is too drunk to notice)

4.For reasons unknown Ling'er suddenly feels her heart race. She accuses him of poisoning the wine (she has a quick change of heart!) She says some nonsensical things before passing out, holding his hand (oh yea these two are shipped)(when the guy carries you on his back bag through a blizzard that seems to be love) also how did the weather change from summer to blizzard? who cares it looks pretty

5.Ling'er finds out that Bian Hu (is that her name?) has red beads (you give this to someone you care about) and Tianjun basically rejects her (I think he is trying to protect her from court...also it can't be fun if you feel pain when are near your loved one)*...collectively saying what we are all thinking: he's going to regret this

(this does annoy me; I think it makes her look more 'pure' if he rejects her giving her the freedom to pursue who she wants; she should have just fallen in love with Tianyi in spite of her early feelings and broken Tianjun's heart....would have been more realistic and more dramatic)

6.The Queen offers to give Ling'er what she wants: her son. But Ling'er decides that if he doesn't want her, she won't make him (I respect people who do this) so she says that harem politics are too much for her and she can't do it. Empress is not pleased.

7.Ling'er (magically) knows martial arts and she and Tianjun fight so she can escape. A masked man shows up (want to bet it's Jishu?) and spirits her away while his mother angrily clenches a sword in anger....

8.oh my god this masked man has the most hideous mask on...anyways he is familiar with passages at the star court (yup, Jishu)and they escape through these...the empress catches up to them just as Ling'er learns he is her father (Starwars!) and he allows her to escape, remaining behind to deal with the empress

9.She winds up in the secret camp of Tianyi. One of his men begins to treat her unkindly, taking liberties. An EXTREMELY angry Tianyi teaches him a lesson. She reports that she can no longer marry. Like a little boy too afraid to reveal his feelings he bullies her. She (naturally) becomes angry and says she hates him and will hate him until she dies (basically). he becomes incensed and tells her to disappear after making sure his entourage leave her alone. They promise to not 'also bully her' as if implying that only Tianyi has that right (they can tell he likes her).

10. Tianyi angril sits down, and breathes out cold air before seemingly realizing something. he rushes out but she has already left...he tells his boys to find her

11.(things are REALLY getting interesting) Empress takes her son into a hidden lair. She shows him what she has spent thousands of lives on to make: a weapon (copied from The Abyss and Sea///recall this is the Manuel containing instructions on weapons that could destroy the harmony on the continent) capable of destroying the wingkind. But it requires Ling'er to render it a success, and thus he learns Ling'er's identity as a goddess...

12. (this place has some strange weather. snow again). Tianyi looks everywhere and it is only when he gets back that he sees Ling'er outside of the gates--she says she has nowhere to go. Feeling remorseful and filled with concern, he carries her inside

13.Women serving the empress see her enter and demand Tianyi hand her over, but alas, she is in his territory. Not even the empress would dare to move yet (her biggest concern is that Tianyi knows her identity) but she does order her people to surround the area

ep 4 spoilers ahead

1.The empress wonders how the deity could awaken since she is not 18 (maybe it has something to do with the flower deity stone...)

2.Ling'er administers the potion, he awakens, and while looking not to good she says she will 'rest well'

3.This heavenly little set up that Yu has is all thanks to the emperor (oh he is def. the male lead he is clearly nicer than he appears) he actually gets a chance to thank him.

4.Tianyi is very adept at reading people and has a knack for knowing what they want. Although Yu swears to not accept anything from the emperor he is persuaded by a rare document that should have been destroyed (I bet Tianyi will hit a wall when it comes to seducing Ling'er. I bet she isn't easily bought)

5.The empress goes to the star court and meanwhile Tianjun and Tianyi trade words (the latter seems destined to always win because he isn't trying to be a 'good person') Tianjun promises to pay him back 10 fold and Tianyi kind of smirks and tells him to bring it on but asks how he will succeed when there are people like Luolin (the traitor) and Ling'er (useless) around him. (I personally wonder if Tianyi envies Tianjun who has the luxury of being 'the good guy' after all his mother is empress and does all the dirty work. But Tianyi is emperor and knows that the empress will seek out the star deity so he is trying to find it first and use it)

6.So the emperor tries to fly with fake wings and crashes and it is rather funny to see him be vulnerable and his inability to admit how terrible he looks speaks to a deep (awful) pride/narcissism that is a little endearing (come on we will always like someone who is imperfect because they are more relatable and with the oh-so-perfect Tianjung naturally we will like Tianyi; much more human) Here we learn that the wingkind grow their wings when they turn 20 and until then flying is prohibited (strange)

7.Change scene: Tianyi is talking to Yu and we learn that a book 'The Land of Abyss and Sky' speaks of a machine that could grant humans the ability to fly (currently only the wingkind can fly) it seems Jishu could have made it but never did because it would distort balance/mess with harmony.

8.Tianyi gives Yu the flower amulet and tasks him with unlocking its secret (Tianyi scored big here; he found a guy interested in puzzles and also not smart enough to ask questions. Yu seems excited to break its secrets)

9.LIng'er is wandering, looking for a place to die quietly/change scene and the flower amulet breaks into and flies off the moment she collapses Yu gives chase//change scene and Tianjun learns that his precious ling'er sacrificed her life and now he is hunting her down

10.The amulet goes into Ling'er and we learn that she always wanted to be Tianjun's bridge since she was 8. She awakens, miraculously healed and from afar the empress smugly watches, believing she has 'won' because it seems Jishu's daughter favors her son...

(that would be too easy I would place my money on Tianyi as the male lead)

11.It seems that she has super powers now, including the ability to hear. She overhears the empress insist that she marry Tianjun. As she is listening, Tianyi shows up with a letter he wrote, and she believes it is from Yu because he said so (she is extremely dense but I have a feeling he is even more dense when it comes to emotions for all of his cleverness//he bullies her so I think he likes her) and he tells her to 'come to a place with me' (after what he did I wouldn't follow him anywhere!)

12.Ling'er chooses to overlook the indignity of being carted off by the emperor. She happily tells him that she is going to be the crown princess and marry Tianjun because she 'just heard it' (she didn't hear the part where Tianjun refused based on status)

This episode gets a 7 for finally picking up.

ep 3 spoilers ahead

1.Ling'er (shock) is unable to defeat this automated death machine. She flees for her life (note the lingering effects of the speed plant/she is quite fast). She flees for her life and it follows her out where all the men are

2.While everyone is fending off this death machine (note how Tianjun crumples and hides in Ling'er's embrace...) an individual wearing the clothing of the humankind clan but bearing a strong resemblance to the Emperor steals an artifact and leaves a piece of jade behind (?)

3.For reasons unknown Ling'er is publicly humiliated in front of all members of this sect, and blamed for this death trap attacking everyone (they should be praising her for being smart enough to recognize a lost battle and retreat but it seems they threw her in there full expecting her to die.)

4.Tianjun, looking like he is about to die, stands up for her. He tries to reason with these starlords but reason is not something that they listen to. They snap at him to hush and it isn't until Tianyi also raises his voice in support of Tianjun's argument that they back off. The star lords seem to reveal that they know very little about these machines and surmise that it was probably guarding something (perhaps the item that was stolen?) In a stunning decision that is in complete defiance of their previous stance, the starlords change their minds and decide to take Ling' er on as a disciple (and the only female disciple at that)(reverse harem?)

5.Ling'er is as stunned as I am at their unprecedented and seemingly illogical decision but I will overlook it in favor of 1)we need some way for her to become closer with the male lead and 2)we need some way for her to start to uncover her roots, where else would be good but here? (besides, if reason was the driving force in dramas then I highly doubt they would be so interesting)

6.The starlords are shocked to learn that the item taken was the Flower Deity Amulet. It is an important amulet because it is taken out when the God of Shooting Stars awakens at age 18. It seems taking it sooner can awaken this god prematurely...The starlords wonder if Jishu or a person from the winged kingdom, Yu Huanzheng who has an obsession for gadgets, took the amulet and plan to open up the star decoding gate...but then they find the jade and suspect another....(I really do not like the men's costumes in this show)

7.Bi Anhua is introduced as a girl with an unlucky name and fate (she says--this is the kind of girl who can either be really nice or really awful later I don't know her m.o. yet) Ling'er suggests she get a better name (right!) but she just sort of acts all demure and innocent (...i have my eye on you Bi Anhua...)

8.bwahahaaha this Bi Anhua seems to be the complete opposite of our Ling'er she is elegant and says pretty and poetical things....Ling'er (I aprreciate her directness) asks her straight out if she has feelings for Tiangjun but she dodges it by pointing out that Ling'er is the one in his heart (I am 99.9% certain that the male lead is Tianyi he is a million times more interesting than Tiangjun who is a cardboard cut out of 'the childhood friend')however Ling'er clearly only has him in her heart at the moment

9.Lu Huanzheng and I think the guy Tianyi was using from the humankind sect are summoned before the star lords. Both are booted out of the sect (Tianyi is quite ruthless he better be careful he seems to have more enemies than friends)

(okay this is starting to get more interesting the only person who needs to grow up is Ling'er she is just extremely sheltered)

10.So Ling'er (this would make me so mad) is skipping along when she runs into Yu Huanzheng on his way out. He;s just been expelled and she admits to him that she didn't even want to be a desciple and came to find Tianjung(!) instead of ranting at her he tells her that she is the only good memory he has at the court and they decide to be 'brother and sister' while she skips off with no worries Yu is captured by soldiers resembling humankind people. On the other hand, Tianyi has the humankind soldier who helped him imprisoned because (not being an idiot) he realizes today's friend can be tomorrows enemy especially since it only took a little money to bribe him

11.Tianyi randomly acknowledges that the 'stupid girl' is 'considerate' (he is becoming aware of her?)

12.We learn that Tianjun has only 3 days to live because he suffered an awful attack while defending Ling'er: basically his heart exploded and so did his blood vessels (not sure how he is alive)

13.Ling'er is lamenting his fate when the glowing core of the monster who attacked them offers to help her save his life. He also throws a few insults her way, claiming he is a guardian and she is the monster and that were it not for her existence none of this would happen (true) however I think he knows her identity as a goddess and is calling her a monster for that reason (perhaps intimating that because of her the two clans constantly fight for power) she bravely announce she will do anything to save Tiangjun

14.Meanwhile, for reasons unknown, the masked humankind-looking soldiers deposit Yu in a hut filled with all the kinds of gadgets and toys he likes...maybe being kicked out isn't so bad?

15.Ling'er begins to make this 'soul gathering' potion that will cost her life and save Tiangjun

16.The humankind empress (she's so pretty!) learns that the star deity will soon awaken...

--FYI this show has the weirdest/worse ending song I have ever seen (some random pop group?)

I give this episode a 6.5 (I wish I could give it a 6.7) because it is beginning to become interesting.

ep 5 spoilers ahead

In a lot of ways, the intelligence of Lu Zhen reminds me of Dong Yi (Kdrama/palace drama)

1.So Lu Zhen is lectured by the prime minister. It is pretty harsh and she basically tells her to shut up who cares about Ah Bi (the girl who implicated her and was slapped last episode). She is imparting some valuable lessons about palace life--basically get used to it and learn to not make a mistake so that others have an opportunity to implicate you.

2.Ah Ning appears to be a friend and tells her to ignore Ah Bi, who appears to be the daughter of an important official a.k.a. she is spoiled and doesn't have to work hard to get her way

3.The officials teach the girls etiquette (I really don't like these costumes) and they are very impressed with her and curious to see how she develops because they easily notice she pretends to be dumb (she makes deliberate mistakes)(this may imply that she is trying to avoid standing out in order to get her revenge)

4.Lu Zhen has an impressive knowledge because of her background with goods so she is able to teach the girls things, continuing to garner the admiration of her teachers and undoubtedly fanning the flames of jealousy in Ah Bi.

5.Ah Bi tries to stir up trouble by playing a prank on Lu Zhen. She doesn't make a scene and uses it as a chance to have fun with the other girls and even claims responsibility (smart girl). The teachers watching in the shadows gives us some foreshadowing: they say it is good the girls can laugh now because soon they will no longer be able to laugh and be old, like them, also implying I think that once they become official servants sh*t will get real

6.Imperial Consort has seen Lu Zhen and believes she is too pretty so she tells one of the female ministers loyal to her that she needs to remove her from the palace because she is too pretty. This minister pours hot water on her, and says she must be kicked out for breaking a jade cup. But Lu Zhen notices the cup is not jade, is in fact cheap, explains why, and offers to pay for it. The higher up female minister walks by and the woman pouring the water takes responsibility (I wonder if she is buying bad cups and pocketing the money...)

7.This Ah Bhi is diaboloical (and so clearly guilty she doesn't even try to hide it! how does no one notice it??) she sets up our girl in by pouring water on everyone's bed except Lu Zhen. Not being a moron, Lu Zhen clearly points out there is no evidence and she had no time. She even dumps water on her own bed but they aren't buying it. Lu Zhen is punished to sleep in the storage room and scrub chamber pots all night. But we learn something important: the female minister who has it in for her does not report it to Yue GuGu (the minister who seems supportive of Lu Zhen) at Lu Zhen's request, meaning she knows that it is poor plot. I think these are good trials for Lu Zhen as they will prepare her for what is to come.

8.I pity her (can't handle bad smalls) but OMG she is so smart and cute she ties a scarf around her nose with flowers on it so she can smell flowers bwahaha-

9.In a good scene finally we see our heroine showing some pluck. She is told to scrub the chamber pots again. She confronts this minister and asks if she is doing this because of Madame Shangyi (sorry if I spelled it wrong) and then tells her off, basically that Minister Lou personally vouched for her and she would be offending the Minister by picking her., She refuses to do the work and leaves. this is observed by Yue GuGu (her other minister supporter) and she seems to like what she is seeing.

10. Madame Shangyi enlists the aid of Ah Bhi and her buddy to take down Lu Zhen. In front of Minister Lou they accuse her of being the girl in the wanted poster. Unafraid to lie, she says it is a coincidence. Madame Lou protects her and tells her that she looks like someone worth cultivating adn hopes to one day introduce her to the Dowager Empress (that's a big deal!). Also, Ah Bhi took the time to 'make peace' with Lu Zhen having realized just before this that she shouldn't go up against someone with powerful allies. Thus, Ah Bhi's 'buddy' is thrown under the boss and ordered to be beaten for lying.

11.Never one to miss a beat...So the girl who was beaten returns. Ah Bhi gives her the cold treatment and completely distances herself from her. It is Lu Zhen who offers out an olive branch (probably knowing that yesterday's enemy can be today's friend if you do something for them)

12.It seems that evil stepmom is using her relationship with the royal family (and money) to place her daughter (the half sister) in the palace. Minister Lou has recognized the resemblance that Lu Zhen has with people she knows (perhaps she knew Lu Zhen's mother?). She is investigating why the step mom seems to not know Lu Zhen (I bet it has something to do with her stealing Lu Zhen's dowry...)

13.After trading a dance of words, in which the empress feigns concern for Ah Zhan, she admits that he has found her out (i.e. her plots to kill him) and says she will do anything if he promises to not kill the emperor and protect her family name (seems he arrested the assassins, who are his uncle, so brother of the empress). He makes it clear that she had better leave him alone before agreeing to not tell the emperor (who is on good terms with him) the truth (it is likely the empress realizes that her son may turn on her if she pushes him too far) Since he has evidence of her families involvement (the assassins were dumb enough to leave their family token there) he also insists she return full military power to the emperor, stay out of politics, and retire to the dowager palace.

14.SO many parallels to Dong Yi! It seems that Minister Lou has been grooming our Lu Zhen in order that she catch the eye of the emperor, and basically obtain power through that. I doubt they know that Lu Zhen is uninterested in being used in such a way....

15.Ah Zhan wants to find Lu Zhen and feels he owes her a debt...but isn't sure if she is alive or dead. Little does he know how close she is...

I liked this episode much more because our female lead finally took her enemies head on and she did it in an intelligent way. I also appreciate that this shows has some parallels to Dong Yi in that we have a smart female lead who is being cultivated by a powerful woman who will probably wind up being her enemy some day...

I don't like Ah Bhi, not because she is awful but because her utter lack of effort to disguise her plotting seems to be just a little to risky. If she turns out to be a long-term villain I will be annoyed because she isn't very powerful; yes she has a father but during times like these families rise and fall so easily and she is just a woman (and not that smart) in a man's world. She is not nearly as smart, as say, a villain like Su Jin (eternal love)

ep 4 spoilers ahead

Note: I am watching this on Viki so it seems they put part of ep 3 footage in 4

...OMG she is just too cute...how could he NOT fall for her? Lu Zhen has an opportunity to show how honest, caring, virtuous, and genuine she is as she cares for Ah Zhan. She is all bussiness when she dresses his wound, slaps him when he gets too flirtatious, then apologizes and checks on his wound. She tells him he isn't anything special, that she would stop and help anyone. (She is like an ideal lady right here and the complete opposite of the women he is used to...of course he will like her!)

Ah Zhan basically shares with her his family issues without revealing his identity. She tells him he can't give up, shares a bit of her own issues (like how she tried to get in the palace illegally). She returns the jade he gave her because 'he seems to need it' but he won't take it back (i feel like this is important, like a royal emblem). She gains his respect because she tries to give it back, and he admires her smarts as she instead sold fruit to get money for a doctor.

1. Now we are at the cliff. They survive, but are seperated.

2. Once Lu Zhen learns that the jade belongs to a noble, she returns it to the imperial palace. her honesty allows her access as a maid, and they ignore her forged records.

3.Lu Zhen swears she is going to avenge her father

4. She is escorted by another maid who teaches her all about ranks and palace rules. Lu Zhen absorbs it like a sponge. She is then handed over to a young woman (who gave her a nasty look) i guess to teach her

5.This girl causes a scene, accuses her of lying, and is punished by Yan Gu Gu(the severe woman who interviewed her) for having no manners (me thinks I sense another lady who will make things difficult for our female lead)

I felt this episode dragged a little. I also (really) hate the plot device of

every girl hates the female lead'. So annoying. Like it just puts women in such a bad light. On the other hand, I imagine that is a fair assessment of the time period since women were each other's enemy as they struggled to gain power through looks, smarts, beauty, charm etc.
