Typical family oriented movie with a twist of LGBTQ+

Movies from the Philippines usually have a story line which is family-oriented and this is a great depiction for it with the comedic twists.

As for the plot, it's quite simple and there's nothing new or unique to expect aside from the intriguing premise where a gay discovered that he has a son from the past. Mostly, the positive side of this is that it's realistic and also easy to relate to. Just a feel good movie.

The casts also performed exceptionally specially for the cute child they had. He's really smart and talented. If there's something I am disappointed, it's the character personality of Manu. I get the culture of spoiling kids in the Philippines but I just don't really get why he lets his son watch a soap opera that is for adults. Aside from that all the characters did the roles perfectly.

I haven't really noticed any particular songs or music in the movie so I really can't tell. At least it didn't ruin any particular scenes in the movie.

Well, overall if you want to watch a family-oriented movie over the weekend or if you're just finding a feel good movie to watch on Netflix, I would recommend this one. There's not much Filipino slangs in this movie so even non-native would be able to appreciate the movie.

As ridiculous as the plot sounds, welcome to the school full of monsters

Let me start with, this isn't just comedy. Also I don't recommend this to people who are already down or depressed because some parts might trigger you (although it's not visually graphic, the theme is too dark.) Viewer discretion is advised.

So to give you a backstory, I've watched this years ago and I remembered liking this series (but I already forgot what it's all about) so I decided to re-watch it. I realized that the reason I forgot about it is because of all the dark matters that's in this drama.

I admit that the drama started really well making you curious how far will this ridiculous idea go through. There are also funny bits here and there but as the story starts to uncover the secrets of the school, you'll realize that this mom opened a Pandora box. The issue in this drama is really heavy but it was able to relay the message that sometimes this big issues of bullying became unnoticed because the adults are not listening or paying attention to the students and also selfish and greedy adults exploits students' innocence.

The characters in the series are also wide variety. From this strong mom, to the innocent students that have different attitudes and have different ways of coping up based on their circumstances. The villains that will really piss you up and also the characters in the grey area. I love that most of the characters was given reasonable depth and character development. Although, the one I really loved the most is BokDong's character. It had lots of variation throughout the series and also the source of most comedic relief.

The songs used in this series is really catchy however there were a few times that it actually ruined the mood of the scene.

Overall, I really loved the drama and all however I already grew tired of corruption and heavy dramas. I felt like everything is being dragged on because all this type of drama usually gets resolved only at the last episode.

The message is good and all but maybe not for me. For those who's into this kind of heavy drama with all the good guys trying to bring this bad guys down, this is a decent story that portrays that. So I recommend you to watch this.

Not lovely but horribly

I won't go into much details but this drama really disappointed me. I was kind of curious why this drama get negative reviews and to be honest I watched this purely because Song Ji Hyo is in this drama (although the characters are really disappointing that I don't feel like her acting talent was given justice).

The plot is very complicated not making sense. There are lots of elements coming from left and right but it just doesn't make damn sense. The characters are too shallow and there are no chemistry between the main leads. Their decisions are just plainly stupid that you start getting frustrated every now and then. I find the male lead's acting very disturbing. I just don't see what emotions he's trying to portray and basically ruin the whole drama for me.

I don't see myself re-watching this really and if I can save your time, I would suggest not to watch it. Just watch something else. At least I still like the fact that Ji Hyo is in this drama so I really tried my best to finish it but the rest is a mess.

Aside from the great acting, I don't what else to say

This is a spy movie involving North Korea, which is definitely not my cup of tea. I was expecting something more but the plot remain flat from start to end.

Commendation though to the great acting of the casts. The characters was given justice although the plot isn't much interesting. Choi SeungHyun's acting is superb (T.O.P on top), the expressions and the emotions he portrayed is so realistic and of course the action scenes.

Overall, it was a good drama to pass time on. Maybe I'm not just really into this kind of movies that's why I find the plot boring but all the executions are done skillfully so still a great job for everyone made the movie possible. VIPs come and watch it.

Good moral lesson but messy execution

This is one of the comedy-family movie that is really created for wholesome family entertainment. The comedy is mainly based on absurd comedic events.

The plot is seriously messed up though. It jumps from one thing to another making no sense. The humor is there but aside from people who knows the Filipino language well, other people might find it weird. A lot of the word play, puns and jokes are directly related to local language, local personalities and local events so it's understandable that some people might ask, "What's funny about this movie?" but trust me, Filipino people surely love it. The story plot though is very flat. The graphic quality is low as well (which is expected in most Filipino fantasy movie or shows).

On a positive note though, the moral lesson is heartwarming and very family-oriented although the rest of the execution is too over the top. Do I recommend it? Yes, for Filipino audience. For foreign viewers, I still recommend it with a disclaimer that it might not be as funny from your perspective.

Eeriely confusing but also intriguing

This mini-series is short yet impactful. The storyline is repetitive as if it's trying to emphasize a point. Although, I admit I've been lost after watching it as if I forget everything that I watched as well. (Same as how they forget their missing classmate at the end of every other episode)

Okay so the plot is like, a creepy substitute teacher came to the school and tries to tempt students with a power that will allow them to get away from what they fear the most. There's kind of a trial period but as they get greedy for more, they have to sign a contract not fully thinking about possible consequences. It only ends with them being trapped on a mirror full of darkness and being forgotten by everyone. This has been repeating 6x on the drama and the only differences are the students have different fears to get away from thus different solutions/scenarios as well with the same pattern.

The casts were really good and the creepy teacher gives off that vibe that you can trust him but his smile is also meaningful enough for you to see that behind those smile is a hidden motive. If there's something I didn't really grasp the character, it was Kim SoHyun. Well, she did great in terms of acting but I didn't get what the drama is trying to achieve using her character. It just confuses me (or maybe I'm just too slow, I'm not sure myself.)

I mainly watched this because of Kim SoHyun and if you really like her acting she's still superb in this mini-series although the plot can be a bit disappointing. This isn't a bad drama after all you can watch it in one sitting just like how you watch a movie. There's also a lot of good takeaways like how greed can end badly for you. And how nightmares are there not to harm you but to heal you.

Intriguing premise but too shallow

I regret that this film wasn't able to reach it's full potential. I just can't stop thinking this could've been more if the writers bothered to make more depth out of the characters. The casts were really good though in portraying their characters.

First of, I love the idea of the plot about the alter world because even though Alter isn't a real app, let's be real a lot of people have their alter world. This film explored an alter world where people are damn horny and it could possibly be but there are way more vast kind of people in the alter world. They mainly focused on this distress female lead finally deciding to taste the alter world for herself to unwind from her reality and to relieve stress only to find someone she knows in the past to help her. But the film didn't even bother to let us know why the male lead was even there in the first place.

I felt like they had good intentions but it can make people misunderstand those people who has alter world as someone who craves attention and sex. They could've explored why? Why does people have to need an alter world? The female lead didn't also get away fully from her problem. Although the male lead was able to learn a lesson from what happened. It was kind of messed to be honest.

This is a pretty decent film anyway. I mean it's something you can watch from start to finish. I just feel like it could really be something more.

My New Sassy Girl is like My Sassy Girl minus the comedy

My Sassy Girl is really a classic Korean movie and has been adapted and dubbed into different languages. Even the OST has it's own versions so this sequel is kinda lacking. It doesn't leave much impression compared to its predecessor. But don't get me wrong, this is a great movie but it's hard not to compare it to first one since this is a sequel.

The plot is simple and pretty comprehensible and to be honest it's a good life lesson pretty much in reality. This sequel felt independent because you don't really have to watch the first one to really appreciate it. It's just good to know the back story about "the ex." It's a pretty good story concept overall but I kinda miss the comedy part. This is more of serious than the first one.

Cha TaeHyun is still an awesome actor. He's always like the familiar Ahjussi of the neighborhood. He's very natural and he really looks like he doesn't even have to put much effort because he is the character itself (I know this can be confusing but what I mean to say is everytime I watch him I felt like I'm watching Cha TaeHyun's life and not the life of just a fictional character that he's trying to portray. ) The female lead also didn't disappoint. She's pretty sassy and bad ass just like her character requires although I can't compare her to Jun JiHyun (since I'm really biased towards JiHyun Eonnie.)

All in all this is a great movie still and I really enjoyed watching it. There's also good life lessons you can learn or be reminded about. This is recommended if you just want a feel-good movie after a long tiring day.

Action-filled movie and genuinely hilarious

This movie felt like Korean version of James Bond 007 movie with mostly the female lead doing the action scenes.

The storyline is simple yet intriguing. Seeing both leads so clueless about each other's real identity is so cute and funny. I also loved that the comedy didn't ruin the action scenes and it was just simply funny and natural. The leads really pulled it off and the support roles also made the movie better.

This is a bit old of a movie but is still relatable somehow. It's one of those feel good movies I definitely recommend when you want to unwind.

Heartfelt romantic-comedy drama with a twist of fiction

This is one of the most heartwarming drama that I've ever seen.

Although this is a romance drama, it also touches other subjects like family, youth, friends and life all in one great production. At first I thought it would be just like Emergency Couple but I was surprised when they added the element of time traveling in the story making it unique on it's own sense. The way that the introduction was presented is very realistic since it's true that in real life, marriage doesn't really mean a happy ending. Rather than an ending, marriage is a new beginning and that's how they derived the story from. Aside from the main leads' marriage issue, throughout the drama you'll come across the story of their families and also their friends during college.

Jang NaRa really made her character comes to life as a housewife who lose confidence in herself through the years of marriage and started to live her youthful years again. The acting is very natural specially on the crying scenes. More than theromantic scenes of Jang NaRa and Son HoJoon, I find the scenes of Jang NaRa with Kim MiKyung together very touching. I cried a lot seeing them together. The chemistry as mother and daughter is really there which is fantastic.

The supporting characters also made their characters come to life as their story were also included. I really felt like they were college friends and everything is very natural. The second leads, Jang KiYong and Go BoGyeol made me think twice if they are better partner for the leads. Second lead syndrome is real.

This is definitely a hidden gem in the K-Drama Land with a great idea and cast altogether. It will surely make you laugh and cry with the characters.

Full of fun and surprises every episode

Player 7 is really one of the few variety shows that made me laugh until my stomach is aching. The jokes are just simply funny and the casts were also great. I love the concept that they are recreating the legendary Korean variety shows because they were like a living museums of this shows and they are adding fun and laughs on those. Although, I admit that some of the episodes I am really unfamiliar with and there were episodes that weren't as funny as the others.

When I first watch this, the only person I am familiar with is SooGeun and YiKyung which I saw in few dramas and the rest were new to me but then after watching more, I saw their individual charms from the cutest to their gross charms. The guests are no joke as well. They were all star-studded. Every episode is just full of surprises.

Overall, I really love this variety show and is looking forward on the Season 2. It's such a shame that the ratings on this is not too good as it's competitors already established a name on the variety industry for years. And to be bluntly honest, their concept is hella good short term but for long term concept it won't really stand a chance to RM and TROS.

Superb drama that explores the grey areas in life

First of, this drama gives off a new flavor on the romance genre, it has that unique charm that other dramas lack of which is warmth and sincerity. At first, I was hesitant because crime and romance isn't really a genre that mix together quite well but through this drama, I realized it is possible. What I love about this drama is that more than romance, they focused on the complexity of each characters development and explored the relationships between the characters on a deeper level. On the downside, I wasn't really happy about some parts where they try to give off piece by piece information about the past because personally for me doing the flashbacks are only effective if there's an impact or tension but on this one it's like they're giving out Q&A. You know the answer but you're just waiting to confirm if you're correct. I just thought it would be better if they completed the past then gave flashbacks only if necessary. Nonetheless, this drama is still great because it's not too dreamy and really close to reality.

Anyway another thing I really commend on this drama are the casts and their excellent acting skills. I felt the continuity of the story from the past and present. I really felt like the younger ones grew up for real. They had the same facial expression, same attitude and characteristics. Out of all dramas I watched that dealt with past and present, I can confidently say that this is the best among them. I am also shocked to see myself empathizing on an antagonist which lies on the grey area, portraying as the bad guy but is really warm inside. The best part of this drama is that, the events are negative and unfortunate but the characters remain positive and tried to solve the problem without getting swayed by it. Other dramas usually gives tragic scenes where it is completely unfair that the characters were forced to change, sometimes sacrificing something that's really precious to them but this drama is different. It allowed the characters to grow together while fighting together and also grow individually on their own as time passes.

This is really a hidden gem as indicated on the article where I discover this drama. I didn't mind being sad with the characters because I feel their sincerity and care towards each other which makes me believe that sadness is something we feel because we are human. Instead of running away, we must embrace it so that we can grow for the better.

The message of this movie is something worthy but some comedic parts might be inappropriate in a way

I actually waited this movie to be aired in Netflix and when I finally watched it, there's a part of me that's disappointed but at the same time glad that I watched it. So just a brief preview the story revolves on a woman who's too desperate to have a boyfriend and be devirginized. A lot of the scripts were Filipino slangs that are sexual references. The movie also attempted to break the Filipino culture of being conservative and religious, not that it mattered to me but if you're someone who's easily offended with those type of jokes, you can skip this one. Nonetheless, the message in this film is worth it specially for those single people who are feeling the pressure of being left out without a partner.

Mystery murder in a school setting and a bit of romance

This is one of those average mystery murder story that's neither good or bad. The mystery factor was kept until the end so it's pretty nice. It wasn't expected at all and I think that's a good point in a mystery film. I just felt like it was lacking with something I can't pinpoint.

The main leads were able to portray their roles effectively. They both look innocent like real students. It's actually good to see Yoo SeungHo and Kang SoRa on their younger years and made me realizes how they turned out to be great actor and actress of today.

This is something good to watch once but of course once you solved the mystery, it takes the fun of it and it might hard to rewatch it.

Tackles cyberbullying and social media culture through an unsolved mystery

I'm challenging you to solve the mystery on this movie because it ended up without answers. I have quite an expectation when I watched this because the plot is something interesting, I'm just not sure if my expectations were too high or if the movie didn't really give justice to it or what.

The casts acted so great but the story became more of a confusion to me than curiosity of what's gonna happen next. I just watched along hoping that maybe the end will give me answers but unfortunately, I had more questions. For one, I'm not really familiar about social media culture of Koreans. Second, plot wise I had lots of confusions but the message is there, cyber bullying can be dangerous specially when it meets reality and became a real life bullying. Words can be a knife so we have to be responsible about our words, specially in the internet where people can become who they are not.

At least I can say this is worth a watch if you want mystery films.
