This show starts off cute and hooks you right away, BUT the recycled trope of tsundere dude and clingy girl is super outdated. I'm not one to whine about culture differences but the lack of feminism in Japan makes this show really hard to watch by mid-season. I went from finding the character Nao absolutely adorable to wanting to shake her silly by the end. No character development at all for either of the main leads. Everything cute and endearing about them in episode 1 fades away by episode 10 and every single moment of drama could be cleared up by 2 lines of communication between them. It's cringey and frustrating and you will hate yourself by how addicted you are to this stupid plot and lame leads. He would be endearing if there weren't other guys who treat her better. Juxtaposing the main lead against literally ANYONE else makes you really hate him...Not once did I find myself rooting for their love. I had so much hope that she would wisen up and think "this guy sucks! He treats me bad, I am better than this!" which would make a refreshing twist on this tired genre. They signed off for a season 2 so maybe there is hope for a healthier relationship. I would have dropped this show halfway if it weren't for the lovable secondary characters. They make the show something special, and I would pay good money to see a spinoff show featuring the Ramen guy.
