I can't believe how small the number of audience who watched this drama! I started this with the least expectations and it turned out to be much more. The story is so simple yet so refreshing to watch, I enjoyed every second of it. A mixture of feelings, a beautiful friendship, confusing emotions, and YOUTH... all wonderfully put together!! I still can't believe how much I enjoyed this I'm really glad that I started it now because I could watch all the eps in a raw.

This is a story about friends and how they deal with their emotions, life, and the fact that they are growing into adulthood. Again the feelings that are delivered in this drama, all the emotions are just too refreshing, beautiful and really enjoyable. In fact, (I can't believe I'm saying this but) I fell in love with Choi Min Ho after watching this. I never ever considered him a decent actor he was just an idol like the rest of the idols getting casted with no acting skills. I've seen him in (To The Beautiful You) which I dropped and I remember very well that he couldn't act back then!! When did he improve like that?! He was absolutely AMAZING I was watching the drama and can't help but be taken by him (wait it's Min Woo I'm talking about o_O)!! I can't respect him enough for the hard work and improvement he has done for himself I never thought it's possible when you don't have "it" within you but he proved me wrong, any drama that he takes from now on is on my Watch List.

This drama makes you feel like smiling the whole time you will be watching it as simple as it was,,, What is love exactly? What's first love means? Can we really forget about our first love/crush and move on? Well let's watch and see,,,Simplicity is beauty indeed. I highly recommend it.

Quality drama right here! Seriously, this is very underrated.

This is very different from what I have expected it to be but it's not a bad thing, it was so much better! If you want fluffy yet realistic plot line, you should be watching this right now.

Every character has their own story.They are also very cute. I like how their situations are very realistic in today's generation. Their feelings are very touching as it can be applied in real life. Not all the time, but it's relatable. I also like the realistic interactions between the friends.

The love story in this is very.... YES... It's wonderful. I'm biased though but I really think it's amazing. It's complicated but it's real and I love that because it can really happen.

If you want your heart to flutter and learn about life at the same time, this is for you!
Seriously, this is so underrated it hurts. I wish we'll meet these precious babies again when they're 23!

So I ended up watching this all in one sitting and didn't expect to get so severely hooked to the story, characters, actors, and OST. The OST was refreshing and upbeat, which kept me tapping my foot to the beat while watching without being annoying. I really enjoyed the opening song too! Seeing all the actors smile to the camera along with the song had me smiling too for some reason! I also didn't know so many actors I thoroughly enjoy were in this one drama, specifically, Kim Min Jae, Lee Yi Kyung (after seeing him in Go Back Couple and Euchalala Waikiki, I'll watch anything he's in!), Cho Hye Jung, and Choi Min Ho. After seeing all these familiar faces in just the first episode, I new I'd absolutely love something about the drama. By the end of the drama, I was left with some mixed feelings because there are some things that I wish were done just a little differently OR as least clarify some things by creating a sequel.

I was so relieved and happy that the love triangle ended in the way it did, but I was also sad for the guy that didn't get the girl. I think I would have been left more satisfied if he had gotten some kind of happy ending rather than just him moving on in a bittersweet way. What made me so happy though about the love triangle resolution was that for once, the heroine wasn't jumping back and forth between men - she knew who she wanted and stuck to him and remained faithful through and through. And I respect the writers and the girl for that fact immensely. I think the writers could have simply improved the story (maybe by making the drama a little longer or making a sequel) by giving the other guy his own happy ending. Something else I'd have liked to see was the side character's relationship blossom too. Those are the reasons this drama didn't get a 10/10 from me - I think there were some areas it could have been improved to take it up to a higher level of satisfying.

Since it was such a quick watch and overall a good story, I'll probably rewatch it some day. An important thing to note is that this drama isn't really plot driven, but rather character driven, which I usually don't like. But for some reason, this story was written in such a straight-forward and quick-paced manner that I found it satisfying to (binge) watch.

Story: I chose this drama because it was short and 8 episodes are easy to watch. I didn't expect much, but it was much much better that I had though and I liked a lot.
It's a bittersweet and realistic (in a k-drama way) story of friendship, love and how to go from youthfulness to adulthood.
Acting: I had a serious second male syndrome with the male lead Choi Min Ho. His character is so kindly and gentle that even unwittingly you root for him to win the girl. Even so, I liked the ending, it's realistic, there are no tropes and it's a very fresh show to watch.
Music: I don't remember much of it, but I think it was ok through the drama.
Rewatch value: perhaps I will see some parts of it.
Final conclusion: without any doubt I recommend this drama if you want to see something fresh where you are going to smile so much that probably your jaw will hurt. Enjoy it!

If you liked reply 1988, you will love this drama!!!

I started this drama only because of Choi Minho and didn't have very high expectations. However, this drama was even better than I could have ever imagined!
The friendship between the five characters is raw, refreshing, heart warming and downright hilarious. It will make you laugh, cry, whine and get you excited.
Each character was beautifully portrayed. There is no complex storyline but rather it's a very refreshing drama that shows youth amazingly. My only criticism is that I wish it was longer! I highly recommend this especially if you loved the friendship between the characters in reply 1988.

"Because it' the first time" is such a fresh and sweet drama.

I watch it at first without expectations but at the en dof the first episode I was already so into it !!

What I reaaaaaallly liked is that their each character' feelings seems obvious but so understandable and it makes them really human. They think they know, but they don't really know. It was shaking and I really felt touched by their youth and love. Untill the end I was not so sure of each person choice!

It's short but worth it.

I leughed a lot and even shed some tears but it really left me with a nice feeling and a babo smile :)

From the very beginning, the drama got me into it. I feel happy to have watched it. It seems like real life. Every one has acted so well especially Minho specifically in last 2 episodes. All 6 characters have been very well made. I can relate to them so much in many levels.
I don't know why it didn't gain much popularity like BoF. This drama deserves more. It shows everyday problems/scenarios among friends in simple yet relatable manner. I knew I could re-watch it again again when I saw the first episode and had the same feeling till the end.
I did cry a lot at the end as much as I laughed during first 6 episodes. It's a mixture of every emotions.
A feel good drama, highly recommend it. Anyone who is looking for a friendship based drama must watch this. I wish they make season 2 of this. I really wanna see how their life goes after they turn 23.

Thanks to the writer, director for making this drama and Minho for doing this because of whom I started watching this. Since I am a fan of Choi Minho, I feel like it's his real life character other than the love but this is how he is in his real life to his friends.

I only watched coz it said 8 episodes so it was tempting to finish it quicker. I wasnt expecting much coz the cast is just beginners. They actually did pretty good considering. I was surprised and shicked with min ho from shinee. Never seen hin act before and i thought he would be cheesy but that role was perfect for him. Hes just adorable and cute. This drama is very refreshing. All the casts are so perfect for their respected role (I can't believe I saw Yi Kyung here!! I like him after I saw him at Eulachacha Waikiki). In the beginning, I was hesitated to watch due to some negative comments and the rating, however, I'm glad that I choose to watch it. I find this drama is so underrated! The youth theme is nicely embedded through the whole show. It's about the friendship of 5 people group and their journey to go after their dream, finding their self-identity and the true meaning of love. The story is more focused on Tae Oh, who is played by Min Ho (He acts way better here compared to his previous drama with Sulli. Or maybe because the character has more similarity with him??). He is a lonely guy who is neglected by his father and value his friendship on top of everything. However, compared with the rest of the group, he is in a better position. Even though he is neglected, he has no worry about his life or future. He can waste money without any worry nor he does not have to make any effort into anything. Which is why he desires something that can give him the spark. Something that can force him to lead a more interesting life. He wants something but he is a coward to make an effort for it. This was shown on the relationship between him and Song Yi. He knows he likes her, but he does not want to commit or make any true effort to pursue her either. He thinks that true love has to be sparkling, intense and brand new, but it does not need to be. Then he finds himself losing the girl to his best friend. The ending is bittersweet and realistic. Both he and Song Yi lost the chance to blossom their first love but I think through time, they will gain something more important. A lifelong friendship.
