It was also fun to see the other side characters and how the friendship between two unlikely groups developed friendship and started having eachothers back. The romance in the drama is just so damn cute I was smiling all time. But even without the romance, the friendship these characters showed between them was just heartwarming.
The arc of the story was nice too, with antagonists getting what they deserve in the end. I loved how the story touched upon what school students go through especially in a society where grades matter more than anything. The drama really did well in portraying that many students go through either emotional or physical abuse by their parents which leads them to take drastic steps against their will, and end up hurting themselves or others.
Overall I would totally recommend this dram especially if you're in the mood for short, fun and lighthearted drama with some pretty important messages. True to its name, the drama really Cheers you Up!!

A nice drama that was well written until it was modified?
An absorbing drama of school life and the constant pressure on the student elites in an unforgiving society. The stress of high-level students to get into prestigious schools like Harvard (why they would want to, I’ll never understand). This pressure sometimes brings out the worst as they do everything in their power to add just a few more quality points to their resume. The drama flows well with each episode up to a point, which I will explain later. While it’s not a deeply complicated storyline, it’s entertaining and well-written, up to that same point. The acting is outstanding, and you’ll be drawn into the struggles of young people in school trying to please their parents.
Jung Eun Ji does a fantastic job in her portrayal of Yeon Doo, the 196th place student. She is funny, she has a dramatic flair, and she can be romantic. Chae Soo Bin, my favorite actress, is also great as the student villain. Seeing her in this role shows her versatility as an actress. You will see the emotions of a student under extreme pressure from a parent. There were many young actors/actresses in this drama from six years ago that are doing well today. Overall, this drama is a pleasant change from the typical school bullying, but parental abuse was front and center.
The problem with this otherwise sweet, interesting drama is the changes they made at the last minute. The fact that it’s a 12 episode drama gives you the first hint. The buildup in the storyline felt like it was intended to have 20 or more episodes. The romance between Yeon Doo and Kim Yeol took a turn for the worst when they decided to add a best friend love triangle around episode 10. I think this was intended to be there, but it disappeared as fast as it came. It ended with a creepy gummy bear scene that was almost comical. The rest of the open storyline, like the marriage of the parents’ scenario and others was closed in a rush in the last episode.
Oh well, I still enjoyed this series. The acting was good and it was entertaining until they gave up on it. Let me know what you think.

This was honestly so much more heart-wrenching than I expected, especially since the problems faced by the character were so relatable and harsh, and I felt frustrated seeing the antagonists win again and again—but that just made it more realistic. I honestly really appreciated the way this drama handled mental illness and family issues. Even so, I felt like the antagonist had gone so far it was hard for me to empathize with her, and how the classmates acted at the end (as if they just accepted all of her and never asked her to take responsibility for anything ) was kind of unbelievable. From the very first episode, I knew I'd love it. I loved the FL so much and it was so refreshing to see a female lead that was loud, badass, but vulnerable at the same time. I loved it up until around the 11th episode, when the characters started to do some really stupid things. Going off of that, I don't see the purpose of having Kim Yeol's dad and Yeon Doo's mom dating as a plot point at all. It was just unnecessary drama and wasn't really resolved in the end anyways.
Although I wouldn't go as far to say that I had second lead syndrome because I shipped the FL and ML, my heart still BROKE for the second lead and to be honest if he had ended up with the FL, I wouldn't have complained.

Surprising wisdom and maturity under a frothy surface
The way I feel about this drama is similar to how Yeol describes falling for Yeon Doo: At first it was just fun and funny, but in time I came to really appreciate it's depth and how it made me change for the better.Needless to say, I LOVED this drama. It's 8 years old and yet did not feel dated. It brought me back to my high school days. Back then, the smallest things felt so big and earth shattering. Watching these teens step up to the plate and face their problems was a delight. In a way, watching these kids be brave was cathartic.
I have so much difficulty actually finishing shows, but I flew through this one. I particularly enjoyed how friendships were handled-- particularly Ha Joon and Yeol's. The way they laughed together felt so natural, like real friends talking. And contrary to my usual tastes, I didn't mind the love triangle. I think it was handled really well. Ha Joon and Yeol COMMUNICATED-- something grown adults in k-drama land or(let's face it) real life cannot seem to do. It was a pleasant surprise.
Our MCs are fantastic. It's so easy to root for Yeon Doo. She's kind, brave, and tenacious, which describes 99% of all main characters, and yet never came across as a Mary Sue. Yeol is the perfect male lead. He checks every tropey box (smartest boy in class, rich family, handsome) but Lee Won Keun breathed so much life into this role that I didn't mind the tropes at all.
Beaming as I type this. What a lovely, much needed break from the world.

Mainly I came here to watch (Jung Eun ji) to see her dramas after watching the Reply 1997 but didn't know that (Chae SEO bin) was also there..I only have seen chae SEO bin acting in positive roles this drama she played a negative role😜but she totally captivated me😍her acting here was too good..I know this dramas are very old!! Long long ago the dramas took place.. But after watching her recent dramas and then seeing her acting in a negative role really captivated me..My focuss all went from Jung Eun ji to Chae seo bin😁💖Both the actresses were good in their roles..But generally I feel Chae SEO bin (Kwan soo ah has more depth in her character than Jung Eun ji( Kang yeon do).But both were definitely good..The main actors were also totally perfect in their roles!!Now coming to the storyline I feel this drama is something which every single person should watch..More than any love story or comedy or humour; the main thing shown how parents are at fault at some point forcing their children to do or become something that is beyond their capacity..Neither they appreciate their children for atleast trying this much but forcing them to live according to their wishes.Nobody cares how that child is feeling depressed from inside..How he or she is loosing confidence by little and little and at the end give up on their life's either by hurting themselves or suicide 🙁That's how real society is..That's what exactly is shown over here..This is the first important message.. {[SECONDLY}] How that childhood is ruined by pressure from parents by always studying. studying is important not to the point where from morning to night you are studying only..That 18+ that sweet twenties come once in your Lifetime..If u don't enjoy that when it was ur time then u can never enjoy that in rest of ur life..Becoz that age and that period of school or college come once in ur lifetime.. Eventually in 30's u can't enjoy the world of twenties where u will be running for ur jobs, getting married, having children; becoming an adult 😊 from youth to adulthood..life is fast so enjoy it when that time is there with you..That's what I understood from this drama And lastly the drama Cheer up why it's named Cheer up becoz it's not about the concept of cheer leading but Cheer up in life (difficult times will be there, happy moments will be there, moments when u almost gave up, some point where u cried the most) But cheer up!! Life is like that..And u will pass through it!!😊😊🌺💖life is not certain but let's cheer up only for you for your better you ..Don't give up!! Becoz ur special each one of u is special and unique..No one can replace you ( SO CHEER UP)😊 Well that's how my perception is watching this drama.. Really such a valuable message..💖

This is a show which gave me a warm feeling when it ended. I was all happy and cheered up.
Many aspects of a high school student life is shown. Different people have different problems. Some face them and some can't.
I can't put details but the lead pair was amazing. Though the show focuses more on friendship and high school, it has right amount of romance in it.
There was a love triangle and believe me I got second lead syndrome. But it was cute and all good triangle, not much complicated.
The Villain, though that is not the correct word here, did a lot of bad things but she had her own reason which the actress portrayed greatly. She was suffering from all pressure of studies and future plans but in the end I came to love her.
The side characters were funny and never got too much. Just adorable.
Teacher and student bond was portrayed beautifuly and I loved it. Everyone needs teacher like this.
The end was perfect and left me satisfied.
I never re-watch a series but this one, I might.
It's a good and cheering drama and you need to watch it RN!!!

Plot wise, I absolutely love it. It tackles real life issues that need to be addressed. I love the sweet romance between the two leads too and the bromance and friendship between the cast members. This drama really has a lot of heart and is hilarious yet touching all at the same time.
It's sad that it only has 12 episode though... I really wanted more of this drama :( but the pace and tone is perfect 10/10

I really wish the synopsis for Cheer Up just had *more* in it so that way the vagueness didn't cause people to look past it. Cheer Up is all about what the synopsis says, but it's also so much more. Cheer Up is also about how people mature over time and through their experiences. Cheer Up is about how people from very different walks of life can be friends and care for each other. Cheer Up heavily supports good morals - if you have to hurt someone to get where you are/want to go, you're not doing it right. Cheer Up also has some sadder points that mostly revolve around how incredible pressure placed on people can make them miserable and cause them to make decisions they wouldn't make if they were adequately supported.
On a more specific level, the love triangle that takes place is sweet and sad at the same time, but don't worry, you won't be sad in the end. The teachers, Mr. Yang and Ms. Nam were such great role models and support systems as well as being entertaining characters to watch. All the loose ends to the story (even though Cheer Up is only a 12 episode drama) were tied up really well and in a good way.
The song, Hold On There, which was comprised of guitar sounds, whistling, and some humming was pleasant sounding and catchy.
Jung Eun Ji did a phenomenal job yet again in her role. For some reason, whenever she cries on screen, I can't help but get teared up too - great job Eun Ji!
This was my first time seeing Lee Won Keun, but I enjoyed his acting and role too! I've enjoyed Ji Soo yet again as well because he did a wonderful job in showing his transformation while working through his struggles. In all the other dramas I've seen Chae Soo Bin in, she's played a "good" character, so seeing her play the antagonist was odd, but I was also glad for her character's transformation. There was not one actor that I found to not be a good fit for this drama.
I will likely rewatch this drama in the future just to watch the characters grow again.

A cute story about friendship and hardwork
This show was actually better than expected considering how school dramas are not my cup of tea. I really liked some of the dialogues and how it showed the importance of friendship, hardwork and passion. I was pleasantly surprised about how I knew so many of the actors on screen like vixx n,eunji, chae soo bin, jisoo, byungchan from victon(not 100 percent sure about this but I really think I saw him)also had a cameo! I really enjoyed seeing chae soo bin not as a female lead but a slightly negative character! The chemistry between cast and even the couple were cute! The music was a little wierd tbh,not the song but just the bgm was so annoying I really thought there was something(like an insect) in my room. The last two episodes really were so stupid like the apparent misunderstanding between jisoo and the main lead was so dumb, like I really couldn't lmao. But still the ending was cute.A good watch!

FUN & WORTHY OF WATCHING SCHOOL BASED KDRAMA
This was a great watch!! I wasn't confused while watching this drama seeing as it was fun, straight to the point and really enjoyable. I loved the characters, the Ost, the different themes displayed such as friendship, family, forgiveness and all that good stuff. It's really a drama that's telling the watchers to cheer up, and you can do this, whatever you are going through, seek help because it is always offered somewhere. I definitely recommend Sassy, Go Go to you guys!! I find myself nowadays watching old kdramas that I have missed because of the new ones. If you do find more like Sassy Go Go please share!!xo,
nicki.

The Story:
I liked the story (hence the 8.5 rating) but it could've been better as well. I felt like the storyline kept repeating itself throughout the show but it was still well done so I didn't mind it that much.
The Cast:
Honestly I had two reasons why I watched this drama: The first one was because the female lead was supposed to be louder and braver than the regular female lead. The second one was because Eunji was the one who played the main role. As a big Apink fan I just had to watch it obvsly. But in the end I fell in love with every single actor in this drama (especially Ji Soo). They were all capable of portraying their characters perfectly and I had no complaints about the cast.
Music was very fitting and I'll definitely rewatch this someday.
