If you're bored and looking for a silly story involving "suspense," romance, angst etc etc this is the perfect show to pick up! I love contract marriage plot lines and breezed through this show due to its out of this world plot. yes there is some bad acting, not much character development, and the choices the characters make aren't logical at times, but at the end of the day everyone ends up happy (which is why we watch these unrealistic shows in the first place right?!?!)

To start off, I was interested in watching this drama since it has a contract relationship with the leads and personally I enjoy that kinds of stuff. The leads hate each other at first but then will end up loving each other. This drama is the same but then I really didn't feel their chemistry. I know Lee Da Hae is such a great actress and she can be paired up with different actors and really can pull it off but I feel like she is the only one working on this one. No hate intended but the male lead really needs more improvement in acting. I just couldn't feel their love at all.

One word that I can use to describe this drama is "FRUSTRATING". Yep, this drama is so frustrating to watch. At first it started out just fine and the leads were actually pretty cute. I thought that this would turn out to be quite interesting but then at the end it became so draggy and so frustrating. I was so frustrated at Xie Cheng since he is so indecisive. Like, MAN UP! Who the hell do you really love?! Stop meeting Jia Ren! And also stop giving hopes to Xian Hua! And then out of the sudden he would just decide and tell Huan Ying that he loves her. Like what?! All of the sudden? I just really didn't feel his love for her. Kudos to Huan Ying tho, she really is willing to sacrifice just for Xie Cheng. That's love! Sometimes I feel like Xie Cheng doesn't deserve Huan Ying at all.

Oh yeah and I really hated the female antagonist. I wanted to pull her hair so bad and drag her off the drama. Well I guess she succeeded in becoming the female antagonist then.

Even though there's a lot of bad points in this drama, there's also some good points. I actually find some of the parts funny and entertaining. I was also so touched by Xie Cheng's mom. She was so kind to Huan Ying. I actually loved her relationship with her. I basically loved the family love of the characters. I actually liked the leads together but they could've worked harder.

Overall, this drama has a lot of potential. More acting improvements needed on Zhou Mi. Although I actually find him very cute. He has the same vibe as Zhang Han.

To sum this up this drama has a lot of bad acting, no character development between the leads, the male lead is so not loyal and indecisive. But then there's also many fun parts in this drama. I especially loved Lee Da Hae's outfits in this drama.

If you're finding a rom-com that would frustrate the heck out of you then I highly recommend this drama.

Pls do not watch this it will be useless.
Ok how to begin to describe a drama that had the potential of being a good drama but instead this drama was all over the place I really wanted to like it but the story development, the transition, the key plots, the twist and turns, the attention seeker moments, the characters and story of the main couple everything was just thrown together and were like just pieces of a broken puzzle with no definite link at all, I wish that this story is picked by a Jdrama or Kdrama company and made justice because it has the all the trades to be a good story if a writer rewrites and make the adjustments.

Horrible

Like, OMG, who wrote this and who are the people who thought that this was worth filming?

The FL is the only good thing in this show.

The ML was horrible. He looks evil with his emotionless beady eyes and a creepy smile, so he should play villains, not heroes, although he was definitely a villain in this show, even though the writer probably didn't intend that. ML is not sweet, he's not hot and he doesn't know how to act. On top of all of that, the character he played was horrible. He kept chasing after a married woman, then to save his career he married an actress who kept helping him every time he messed up but somehow he would blame it on her... every time. So it doesn't matter that he chased another married woman and that woman's doppelganger too (if you can imagine, yes even that), but that doesn't matter, it's not his fault, he blamed it all on the FL.

After all the mess the writers threw in the script, at the end their love was just unbelievable to me. It's a horrible script and i am giving it a 1 star because i didn't like anything about it except the FL.

I would NOT recommend.

Lead actress is the only good thing about this series.

All the stars that I gave this rating is due to Lee Da Hae. She does another great job in her role in this drama, The male lead is a terrible actor - his eyes are lifeless, totally lifeless, and the actress playing the role of his first love and the stylist is absolutely cringeworthy. Those two inept actors have totally ruined this drama for me. Lee Da Hae deserves much better costars than those two. Story/ script was ok, with a pretty lousy character for the main lead...truly a narcissist and add that to an actor with NO depth and lifeless eyes, is just a disaster.

Again, the only reason there are any stars in this review is due to Lee Da Hae.

A good watch when your bored!

Okay so first I was confused as I thought this was a Taiwanese drama but then they were speaking in Hanguel. I said okay nice Kdrama and then the Main Lead was speaking in Mandarin... This left me so confused as this carries on throughout the whole drama. A little silly as the Main lead can speak Hanguel... Weird.

Anyways the story was standard a little messy in delivery, however, I really liked the Korean actress... The Main Female Lead was a joy to watch. The Male Lead he was okay but I don't think the role fits him as he kept changing from nice to mean... but i wouldn't say he is the Worst actor like some people have said.

Overall i watched this because i was bored and the images looked great and who doesn't love a contract marriage drama but it is definitely an average drama... nothing special!

I liked the storyline and the female lead was great. However, you missed the mark by choosing Zhou Mi as the male lead. Ugh. There was NO CHEMISTRY between the two leads. Every time I looked at Zhou Mi I saw Liberace (a popular gay pianist in the U.S.). That alone was distracting. Zhou Mi has a fake smile. I was not able to relate to him at all. The very least you can do is find a lead that likes women. So disappointed. If I could see through his fakeness, others will too.

The plot was good and had twists and turns. I loved the paternal in-laws. Scenes there were panoramic and gave the viewer a warm feeling.

Awful!

The worst male lead ever- his character is the most selfish, egotistical travesty of a male lead. Constantly disparages the FL, even in his final proposal. Until the last episode still hanging on to his married first love and even uses a dopleganger of his ex to stand in for his wife. Never apologies for his hurtful words and actions and never recognises what she is going thru.
Made my blood boil! His wife never got to throw his hurtful actions in his face and sacrificed herself for him .
Just what were the writers thinking of? Do they think any woman would love this man? For sure he used the FL to protect his ex - so wish he ended up with her as both despicable.
Also male actor was terrible in acting and he looked like a plastic surgery dummy. The FL did an amazing job in the worst story!
Unless you like been made furious avoid this!!

Found this drama on Netflix, randomly, as you do after watching an amazing drama previously. The thumbnail of the drama looked really cute and the synopsis was short and sweet which now that I have completed the drama makes me wish I came on MDL early to get a slightly more detailed synopsis.

So 5 mins or so into the drama, I'm hearing the male lead responding to other characters in Chinese whilst everyone else was speaking in Korean (minus the 2 other characters) which left me a little confused because I wasn't sure if it was a one off. Half the time it made me think of Stewie from Family Guy (baby who somehow everyone except for his own parents are able to understand when he speaks - for those who have never seen the show.)

Anyways, back to the drama. I really enjoyed the story and for me it felt refreshing because for once its the man who is the poor one or at least just for a little while but I really liked that he didn't let the fame and fortune go to his head. The story itself was very sweet. You really get to understand why both leads are the way they are.

I enjoyed both male and female lead's interaction. Whilst I don't think the romance was rushed I do wish they spent a little more time on them as a couple and developing the romance a little more. Saying that I also loved the male lead's parents and the interaction they had with the little brother. I can't say I cared too much about the second couple or the female doppelganger who were both extremely annoying, needy, greedy, selfish and clingy . It didn't go unnoticed that the second male lead disappeared at one point in the drama.

I'm sorry but I would not rewatch this even though it is rewatchable as its a cute drama with a good story.

I recommend this drama to those who love cute romcoms that's mixed in with a bit of corruption and other crimes.

So first of all, I don't know what else to watch since there's only one episode this week of VAGABOND so I decided to watch a new simple, fast drama. And, this drama caught my attention, and at first, I was confused as to why there are only 12 episodes on Netflix, but they combined them to make each episode longer. Tbh, I've been watching too many contract marriages and I'm actually liking it. I like how this action made them fall for one another. Hating on one another at first, and then began falling to each other because of their personality, feelings, and actions. At first, I was confused as to why Kim Pil-Seo is speaking mandarin while his parents are Koreans. But I found out this is like a combo of Korean & Chinese drama. Plus, he's Chinese. c; Not gonna lie, I like it. I just wish there's more romances... action..and good kissing scene. I'm really into romances and good communication/kissing scene. I don't really know what else to say, but if you're in the mood to watch a simple and fast drama, I really recommend this. I finished it in one day with stops and I wish to find more good dramas with rom-com.

Last one, if you're reading this and finished watching the drama, please. Someone tell me...why there are two girls that look the same and speak mandarin even though they are not the same person in the drama. And, I don't understand the second girl to why and how he likes Pil-Seo.... BUT. EH. DRAMAS are not perfect so I guess..or maybe I'm just missing out. LOL

The romance grows on you.

As of episode 7, this drama is similar to the movie Overboard with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. What is fascinating is the two main actors are speaking in different languages (Korean and Mandarin) and they worked well together to a point where I do not see a language barrier. A few others also interacted well together in the two languages. I am staying on to see how their relationship grows together. Getting pass the language differences, the interaction between the actors flowed well, and there is definitely chemistry between the two leads. There is also humour that helps. The music is definitely background that does not drown the dialog. Zou Mi looks like a cross between Choi Siwon, Ji ChangWook , and Lee MinHo; and his actor is great. I wonder why he is not in more dramas; I would love to see him in Korean or Chinese drama currently. I am going to binge on this drama. Great ending BTW.
Update: Dramavery has the mandarin voice over for the Korean speaking parts.

As everyone else here is saying: FL is the best thing about this show

The FL is gold. She gets 10s across the board for me. Most of the supporting cast is okay or good acting wise as well. I'll even give the second FL lead a pass as I think she did well with what she was handed. I just think she was written like absolute trash. The actress herself was convincing as different people, she didn't just toss on some glasses and call it a day (though she does wear glasses in one of the roles, the demeanor is completely different). That dance scene was awkward though... seriously... wtf man? You aren't Julia Styles in a early 2000s dance movie. Not her fault though, it's what she was handed.

Th ML is trash all around. The acting is trash, the way he's written is trash, his character is the trashiest trash that ever trashed. He's a complete asshole, and yet has the nerve to belittle the FL constantly and look down on her. He's calls her selfish but then lands her smack dab into a scandal when he KNOWS her dad is in critical condition and possibly dying. It's literally top news that she's dealing with massive, real issues at that moment and he just goes "nope! I'm going to force you to take care of my problems too for me!" Then, when she agrees to help him, he does everything he can to make it as awful for her as possible (often intentionally). Every decision he makes is completely selfish and completely disregards the consent and will of anyone who is not his love interest or himself.

Folks, if your partner is acting like this, leave them. Then block them and probably get some restraining orders (maybe go into witness protection) because they won't listen to what you want anyway.

The only reason I even finished this is because it's so short and the FL is just a gem. Pun intended.
