To convince you to watch it I'm just going to make a few points why WEIGHTLIFTING FAIRY KIM BOK JOO is my favorite drama of all time:
- The cutest and fluffiest relationship I have ever seen. When I say relationship goals I am referring to this drama. They are so considerate and cute with each other and also have a super healthy relationship. It makes me feel sad being single haha
- The FL is so gorgeous and confident. She has so much BDE lol.
- The ML is so sweet, considerate and such a softy. Not to mention how hot he is like wheewwww
- The ML's heart eyes for the FL and vice versa!!!! if only someone could love me that much
- During this drama I laughed and cried with the characters because of how much I lived through them.
- Besides the romance this drama also tackles a lot of issues that athletes face.
- It isn't too dramatic and isn't that drama that you have to keep skipping parts because the scene is boring. Every episode is super good.
- The coming-of-age story is very well written and it's very relatable but also very sweet.
So those are a few points, I have so many more but that would take forever. I just think it's a super nice drama and would definitely recommend anyone to watch it. You will NOT regret it <3

Best Kind of romance
The kind of love story that makes my hearts squeal and say wish that was you huh? The love story that the guy falls first and hard. Very simple and easy to digest drama, you want to be part of the swag gang wanting their friendship but also wanting to have a relationship like theirs. The ending was so cute and their chemistry is so realistic that it makes sense why they would date irl. The way they talk about mental health is super important and it really made me feel better about my own struggles. Bok Joo’s character is amazing! She isn’t your usual girly-girl, weak and dumb female lead. She’s powerful, strong, yes a little naive, but it would be annoying if she was perfect. A lot of people criticized her style, but i found it very fresh, since she wasn’t a “normal” girl. Joon hyung.. wow.. I absolutely love him. His caring and charismatic character made me want a boyfriend like him so bad. He’s truly a cutie as well. His connection to his mom made me really sad, because in a way i can relate to him. Overall a perfect man. The three musketeers have amazing chemistry. Their friendship seems super super genuine and adorable. From heartfelt moments to casual hanging out, they’re truly the best friend group in kdrama land. The way they look into each others eyes, the way they act together. a m a z i n g. Lee Sung Kyung and Nam Joo Hyuk definitely did an amazing job. They’re my favorite actors for a reason. The storyline is really different too. I didn’t think I’d enjoy a sports drama, but surprisingly, i loved it! Bok Joo’s family story is very sweet and nice. There wasn’t too much kissing and making out either. Just enough. Not dirty at all, so really all ages could watch it. Overall.. the BEST drama of all time. Recommend it to everyone who likes heartwarming stories. Was this review helpful to you?
THIS IS WHAT A ROMANTIC COMEDY SHOULD LOOK LIKE!
I love watching romances and even though this drama in particular doesn't have a strong setting or very unique characters, it delivers one of the most direct and satisfying couple out there.. I loved how they treated the "love triangle", I was scared at first ,because I was afraid of it being weird but it was actually more mature than what I was expecting;
. The setting of sports is not new but having it be weightlifting and all the topics around women weightlifters was interesting and did bring a new side to it.
.Music was great, I have it downloaded!
. Visually not the best, looks like any other show. And the actors and actresses were not great either, but I still think it worked well enough.
Overall great show!

Cheerful - Sweet- ANOTHER CUTE COUPLEEE
In love wid de love leads ..they are super hilarious 😅Jung Joon-hyung is a perfect main lead and my dream boyfriend, I swear.
He has so much patience and respect for Kim Bok-joo and what’s even more important: HE’S SO NICE.
Honestly i am not okay with joon's brother ...
MOTIVATIONAL & A SPORTIVE DRAMA where both the leads are athletes (ML: SWIMMER, FL: WEIGHTLIFTER as the kdrama title denotes)
It’s time for new gentle boys era and I’m here for it.
Lastly,
"DO U LIKE MESSI ?!?! is my pick-up line nowww"

Kim Bok Joo and her weightlifter friends navigate the sports school hierarchy as they figure out who they are as athletes and young adults. Bok Joo is talented and confident until she falls for her doctor. A swimmer with a connection to her past complicates things for her by accidentally interfering. As he tries to help fix the mess he's made the friendship becomes stronger. Together they work through some tough things emotionally and physically while maintaining a sweet relationship that takes it's time maturing.
The side stories are sweet and fun and help move the story along without distracting from it.
I really loved how this played out. The writing was really well done. It didn't feel like a story I'd seen a billion times before. The actors were all very good which helped the characters feel relate-able and real. Don't be a dork and wait to watch this one. Do it NOW!

LIGHT AND FEEL GOOD DRAMA OF 2016
2016 had a lot of quality dramas! Weightlifting Kim Fairy Kim Bok Joo was one of them. This drama, for me, is light and feel good amidst all the rollercoaster ride of emotions I felt on all the dramas I watched on that year.STORY LINE: (9.0/10) The story focuses mainly on how the characters fight in chasing their own dreams. The drama is set up in an athlete college campus. Some scenes were cliché but I guess it goes well with the theme of the drama. Along with a slice of romance, you'll also witness friendships, family and self-love.
ACTING/CAST: (10/10) From the leads and supporting actors, I think they have chosen the good ones. I couldn't think of other actors playing their parts. The Swag Bestfriends have shown great chemistry!
MUSIC: (10/10) Well, I have some saved in my playlist. :)
REWATCH VALUE: (7.0/10) I rated only 7 because if comparing to other lighthearted dramas, this won't be on top of my list.
OVERALL: (9.0/10) All-in-all, this drama is a good watch. I recommend watching this after you've finished a makjang drama! :)

I think I love the character, Kim Bok-joo played by Lee Sung-Kyung! - She is like one of my favourite actors, and I think she portrayed this character soo well, I really would have loved to be her friend in real life! - Her teaching my how to eat KBBQ and everything, I just loved how Swagg, she was and her two friends she had in the show! - Always there for her, in many ways! This drama made me really crave foods, like KBBQ and like Fried Chicken, and also like popcorn! I felt like they had Fried Chicken, and like Pizza a lot! -
It's definitely one of my favourites and would be something I would totally re-watch!

Best Character Chemistry and Character Development
Anyone who watches K-Dramas knows this Drama. Fantastic performances by every character. A stand out main character, but not the lead, is Kyung Soo-Jin's Shi Ho. While not being the lead or even being a very likeable character, the performance by the actress Kuung Soo-Jin makes her memorable and detailed, a character you can relate to and understand clearly. I was hooked onto her story just as much as our leads, if not more than our lead's stories. It's also amazing fun to watch our main characters go through very real, grounding events, something that a lot of K-Dramas lack reasonable writing on. Both touching and lighthearted, I highly recommend this series and go back to it often.
No need to speak about the wonderful leads; in my opinion, the best performance I've seen from both actors. But we all know they're good, and they don't disappoint but rather exceed my expectations in this series.
The romance is exciting and never too far-reaching. It feels real and calls you back to romances you felt in your youth. Lovely drama and I will be watching it again and again.

Cliché but cute
I have to admit that there were scenes where it cringing me, there were some scenes where I actually skipped. But I guess it's just an innate feel when it comes to romcoms. I it doesn't matter anyways. The storyline is pretty cliché, it never amazed me but the way how the characters made it lighter and funny makes me even love it more.
I love how it shows a normal relationship of couple, it shows that no matter how "perfect" you think it is, there still have an up and down, there were times you have to fight but still know how to get each other's back.
The friendships they had was irreplacable.
I have nothing much more to comment but this drama made me happy for a while.

Wonderful!!
it's one of those dramas that you just don't want to end. A sweet story about love, uni, friendship, and lots of food.I couldn't get into this last year when I tried watching Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo right after finishing Start-Up! I really didn't like Nam Joo Hyuk character in that show and so didn't gel with this one.
Thankfully, however, Twenty-Five, Twenty-One changed all that and I'm so glad I revisited this show.
Firstly, our protagonist (Kim Bok Joo) played by the wonderful Lee Sung Kyung is so adorable that you can't not fall in love with her. Her story was lovely - finding out that she's a woman and not just a weightlifter, will resonate with a lot of people.
Joon Hyeong's character works so well with her too and you get why Nam Joo Hyuk is such a good actor.
I don't want to spoil it for you but will say to just go and watch it. Enjoy its purity and have fun!

You'll power through this show happily
This is a rather fun show that had a lot of hype surrounding it and largely delivered. The acting was phenomenal and the story beautifully crafted a message about struggling through adversity imposed internally and externally, finding the new sense of willpower once you are mentally burned out.Lee Sung-Kyung was superb in her role and she carried this shoulder like a barbell made out of paper. Her character was endearing, flawed but always with a giant heart and she enjoyed a terrific chemistry with Nam Joo Hyuk's character. I would say however, the character who I was most interested by was Kyung Soo-Jin's character, Song Shi Ho. Her story of turmoil, hardship and quiet despair played out in front of others without anyone noticing a young woman crumbling under the pressures of her responsibilities. Her story was captivating, Kyung Soo-Jin's acting terrific, and though I felt the resolutions were a little too neat between her and some of the other characters, I was happy for her by the end. She really was fantastic.
I'm a little less enthusiastic about Nam Joo Hyuk's character, who though a main character himself, was really just a prop throughout for Kim Bok Joo. He was a swimmer who suffered from anxiety and yet this was rarely given the screen-time it deserved. There was also a family drama at the end that was written and concluded essentially over an episode or two when it deserved so much more. This show could have been an all-time kdrama great, at least for this decade, but barring the two lead female characters, the rest just weren't very interesting.
I would recommend this to everyone however. The story is still really engaging and some of the core elements that make a kdrama show great were there in abundance.
