I like the beginning of this drama. It's a great mix of romance and comedy.

However, the last few episodes were so NAH and WTF it's like they wanted to make several storylines and plots squeezed into a few episodes.

They tried to redeem it at the end though.

I’d recommend only the first ¾ of this drama. The last couple of episodes would really get you lost and confused.

It's cute but just a mediocre romcom drama

Well, i'm starting watch this drama because of bai lu (recently watching love is sweet). She made her debut as a lead in this drama. I didn't have many expectation in this drama, but yah... Not bad, it'd be better if the last 3 episode just cut off. the writer could just write an ordinary ending you know... Not a pathetic plot twist lol.

The acting of the actor and actress are nice, they could portray the character really good. But, I think the lead seems lack of chemistry (?) Or maybe the king looks like he didn't ready for the romantic scene lol. Btw, all the actress are pretty! Like, the king's mom, she's sooo beautiful (I've planned to watch her other drama after watching this series).

I don't really listen to the music... Because you know, typical chinese drama. If you want to listen to the music, you should watch the entire opening and ending scene (which contain a lot of spoiler).

Rewatch? umm... I don't think so... this drama didn't have a specific scene that I want to rewatch. Just a light drama, nothing special.

The conclusion is: The writer is suck. Like.. WTF did u write for the ending??? Just like 'The Eternal Love' which the last few episode is messed up really bad (I'm talking about the chinese-level-CGI). But the beginning is just, yeah cute and adorable lead that exchange body. It's nice to watch when you need to waste some times with a little laugh.

A yummy romance but a confusing story

Let me start out by saying that this was the first CDrama I watched the entirety of!

That isn't to say that they're bad by any means. I've always loved KDramas and those are most of what I watch, along with some Thai Dramas and such. But this one opened a door for me.

The acting was fantastic, in my own opinion. The ML did a tremendous job acting like a woman and the FL did a fantastic job acting like a man. They were very believable. Their chemistry was wonderful and their romance was very, very cute.

Unfortunately, the story was a bit of a mess. The beginning was right up my alley. It was pure comedy and romance. It was a plotline I enjoyed. But then, at about the 15th episode I believe, everything flipped to a more serious story with confusing points that felt thrown in last minute. I'll avoid spoilers.

But, after everything, I enjoyed it still. It'll have a special place in my heart. There was something about the ML's acting that captured me as well. I hope to see him in more dramas! If you can overlook some confusion and watch something purely for fun, you'll like this drama.

This one is a Chinese drama that I picked up because the advertisement I saw indicated that it was like Secret Garden (one of my favorite Kdramas).  It... is only like Secret Garden in that the souls of the main couple swap bodies. Body swap hijinks ensue.  Really though, that's where the similarities end. The bulk of each episode is set in a semi-historical setting with a little modern day vignette at the end of each episode.  The main couple is cute, but the whole thing kind of takes an abrupt change of direction around episode 15, ultimately leading to an ending that I didn't really find very satisfying.  Still, it was cute and fluffy, which is pretty much what I wanted it to be. Zhang Yi Jie is really good at adorably, traditionally female pouting.

It was so Funny until it wasn't

Watching this after finishing 'Till the End of the Moon' to satisfy my curiosity because I noticed when Bai Lu does goofy/bubbly acts in that drama it's really funny and brings a smile to my face, so I thought to myself that "this girl.... this actress would probably be able to do well in a comedy-drama and would be able to pull off a funny role" which she did in here and surprisingly it's her first drama series too.

The story, for the most part, is really funny, and when I thought it would get stale over time or get repetitive, an unprecedented joke would come out of nowhere, catching me off guard and making me burst out laughing. This is something you're not supposed to take seriously because you'll never know what the characters or even just the background characters might do next, it's unpredictable, well... some jokes are predictable, but once in a while there's that one joke that would catch you off guard because there is no build-up. The body-swapping plot really disappointed me because it was just something that was used to create a story between the two, but it was never really taken any deeper. I'm watching, right? Body-swapping happened, then 10+ episodes in and it was like the writer forgot that that plot device existed in the story because it was hardly given any attention at all, The character just moved on with the lives of the body that they have and never even bother to figure out how to even get back to their original bodies... the characters were just like "we may or may not get back to our original bodies, who knows????" no shit of course, because you guys are not doing anything or trying to investigate things. Also, since they managed to pull some plot twist "oh gods existed in this world actually" thing, that could've been used to explain the body swapping thing, but then again it mostly ignored throughout the show. And what's up with the last 3 episodes??? Things were going well and they just had to stick the landing till the end, I was fine if you didn't bother explaining the intricacies of some other stuff, I can get behind that, but NO, NO, NO! it's like the Writer went to snort a line of coke and set everything on fire at the end. It feels like I was watching 'Till the End of the Moon' and 'W- Two Worlds' and some other dramas smashed into one (if you've stuck watching till the end, you'll know what I mean) and what I can't even believe is that the writer even managed to get everyone on board with it, the actors... I can understand because a job is a job, you'll take any role to survive in the industry.

Regarding the Characters, I give ML and FL props for acting out the opposite gender because it was actually convincing, but what disappointed me is that when the swapping happened they never really touched upon what's it like to be in an opposite gender's body, the difficulties of being man or women, those kinds of stuff, discovering the body parts, it's a minor thing, but it would've been cool if they've touched upon it more instead of just brushing it off. I was wondering why ML got the most character exploration and FL was just like "I'm an orphan and a chef... that's it" without knowing they were actually saving up FL's convoluting back story at the last 3 episodes and by that time I was fine if they didn't bother with it since the romance was already going well. The side characters are good, each of them played their roles very well and some of them are really funny as well. Them adding the cousin into the mix was a waste for me, i think the story and dynamic of the characters would've been fine without her, I think they just needed something to make FL turn to ML instead of 2nd ML, but the writer could've used 2nd FL as well, ugh!! Never mind, let's move on... ML and FL's dynamic is actually good, but I've never really felt their chemistry that much, not until they started developing feelings for each other, even then it was not tickling my heart, maybe it's just me, I don't know.

I don't even know why was I even surprised by how this drama turned out to be at the end when it already gave a hint just from the poster alone, but still, it satisfied my curiosity that Bai Lu CAN actually pull off a funny role in a comedy-drama. The short skits at the End of every episode are 10x funnier and way better romance than the actual drama itself.

King Is Not Easy - Review

Well, Im not even exactly sure how to start. This is a funny show. I have read a number of reviews, and have found that they are all about how bad the plot twist and the ending is, and i have to say: i agree. It's like, everything makes perfect sense, and im somewhat enjoying the drama series, and then suddenly the director's mind just gets fucked up, and he decides to pretend the last 17 and a half episodes were all just a dream. Like, if it really was a dream, then what was the point of all those episodes? To show how crazy and imaginative Da Xi's mind is? To make it seem to have depth, when its actully just a whole lotta shit? I really dont know. I think the series would be so much better off just ending when they change back. It would've made it the shortest - not that it isnt either way - series I've ever watched, but it would've had so much potential. Like, the acting was really good. I sincerely think it might've even been really popular and stuff, had it not been for the last 5 episodes. It's probably the reason its THE least well-known drama series Bai Lu has ever acted in.

The little funny comedy bits at the end with Bai Lu and Zhang Yi Jie as a modern day couple was really funny sometimes. It was a tiny bit strange, as it had NOTHING to do with the series itself, apart from having the same lead actors, but it was entertaining, and comedic.

Fun Tip: If it were me, and I'd known that it what such a load of shit, I wouldnt have watched it. Watch 'Till the End of the Moon' intsead. It's Bai Lu's new film, just finished streaming. It's quite a little longer - 40 episodes, i think, but its really good - SOOOOO much better than this one.

What should I feel about this drama?

At first it was all enjoyable, hilarious interesting cute sweet and all that. You can enjoy the drama peacefully. The acting and the chemistry is great.
The story (at first) also good and enjoyable.
I started to love Bai lu right after watching this. I love both main leads and wants to see them more.
But, after you watch the last few episodes, you'll be confused with everything. You will be like, what is real, what is not real, what is actually the story, where do they get connected, what the hell is going on? who is who, What should I feel now? what is what and who am I???
Yeah after finish watching the last episode, I was confused for the next few hours, about everything! You'll never get answers for some questions. I feel like the author had a split personality or something. This is the most confusing drama I've ever watched!

It can be considered as a happy ending, I guess. But I'm not sure what the hell was that ending. If anybody understands what happened at the end, please explain.

If you're going to watch this, it's better if you stopped after ep 15, or 16. Then you’ll have good memories about the drama and you'll love the drama.

Just for fun

Except last there to four episodes ,story was good . Then it led to big confusion. I thought that writer didn't have the ending story so he/she randomly gave the ending story which didn't have a sense. Totally senseless . Only acting was good .
Story went like this a girl who was chef fallen in love with a soldier who works under the king. So inorder to get him she started work as maid in the palace .But one day something had happened ,the king's and her's soul swapped. Then because of this they had to live together. Then when their secret was about to reveal they got their respective soul back and hence they saved . Then a twist came which I can't digested and eventually story became senseless.
