The first season was good, but the second season after all the wait seemed to just rehash pretty much all the old gags and make them less funny. The writer could've come up with new gags but it was written very lazily.

As much as I loved the original cast, having Lee Yi-Kyung or Lee Jun Ki remain as the only person from the original cast and write them off like they were side characters was not pleasant, if anything it was another example of lazy writing. I hated how while they could've used an entirely new cast, they kept him and just copy-pasted the cast into an entire portion of his past and assumed it would be convincing.

It's a comedy so lets focus on that: watch 2 episodes and you've essentially watched them all. Just a bunch of running gags overused to the point of not even being funny anymore. Lee Yi-Kyung's role was an over-the-top kind of role in the first season, but it wasn't so bad because there were characters to balance it out. But here, it's the focus of the show, the characters were dull and the acting was stiff or unnatural.

Cinematography was good, and whoever wrote the script, planned to just make a few easy bucks by capitalizing on the nostalgia of the first season -- had pretty much everyone hooked just by reminding them it was Welcome to Waikiki.

Overall, not really funny and too predictable. It was just something to watch for closure after the first season or if you just need help moving on from it. The conclusion was good though, I liked how they wrapped it up.

Hopefully they don't make another season.

Did we need a second season of Eulachacha Waikiki? No. The first season pretty much concluded everything. Now, I am not says that the second season wasn't funny. At that part at least, it followed the first season's footsteps and it had some funny moments.
HOWEVER the romance was weak, at least most of it. The story was okay, but they didn't explain what happened to the other characters from the first season. Especially how Joon Ki ended up with the guest house or what happened to his girlfriend. Plus, the side stories were a bit so so and sometimes, boring. Finally, the story at the end was rushed.
So, six out of ten.

Kind of a disappointment for me

It was impossible for me to watch this without having the first season in mind, and maybe this was why I didn't like it that much. The thing that threw me off the most was the setback of Joon Ki's character. In the first season he had grew up a lot personally and in his career as well, but suddenly they bring him back to the same spot we saw him leave in the first season? I really didn't like that. Not only they did that, but also they didn't quiet explain how things ended up that way.
Besides that, I didn't connect with any of the main characters to be honest, I though the romance was kind of weak, their personalities weren't as interesting as I expected it to be, and not even the jokes were landing for me. It is a funny drama, I guess, but after watching season one I expected much more than was delivered, so it did disappointed me.
It's not a bad show, but it took me forever to finally finish it cause I didn't get attached to the story nor the characters.

My long overdue kdrama series hehehe... I started watching this last March 2019 then I just finished it now December 2019 thanks to Netflix hehehe... For me, I still liked the Season 1 because it has the best casting, more funnier and full of craziness. The season 2 is still funny because Joon Ki (LeeYi-Kyung) is still there and the rest of the new cast is not that fit to do a comedy act hehehe... But still there are hilarious funny scenes and there are also some boring parts. And the kilig part is present of course.

Firstly, I will not compare the two seasons in this review. And in case you are wondering - there's no need to watch the first season and then start the second, they are not connected. Of course both seasons are good so you can watch both, why not.

I am a person who doesn't laugh easily at dramas. It's very hard for a drama to make me cry from laughter, but Eulachacha Waikiki 2 somehow managed to do it. The comedy element in this is perfect, the screenwriter has a sense of humour, he did a brilliat job with the script.

Of course what makes Eulachacha Waikiki 2 so special are all the characters. Each of them has it's own charm and you can comfortaby connect with their personalities. I could easily relate to their life struggles-- actually, everyone can relate to them, because the problems they all went through are so familiar to every one of us - giving up on your dreams, not being able to do what you love the most, money, friendship, dating etc etc. Seeing them suffereing makes you feel sad and you can can't help but love them even more. Despite being a sitcom, Waikiki 2 adds some depth to the plotline which makes it meaningful. It's not just focusing on comedy and I loved that the most. It's not there just to make you laugh, but also think and feel.

We have three couples here and my favourite is Ki Bong and Yoo Ri. At first I didn't like Yoo Ri at all, she seemed too selfish and impudent, but as the story progressed, I fell in love with her and she became my favourite character. I believe they are the perfect match with Ki Bong and their interractions always made me so happy. I didn't care that much about the other two couples, I don't really know why. I liked Jun Ki and Jung Eun as friends, but nothing more. Jun Ki was legendary here (as always) and I didn't want to see him in a romantic relationship, I wanted the story to focus only on his character and his struggles because he has the funniest personallity. I think I liked Woo Shik and So Yeon the least - their story is the reason why I'm not giving the highest possible rating. I feel like they dragged the plot too much and it became a little boring. But at least we have the friendship between Woo Shik, Jun Ki and Ki Bong.

All the actors/actresses did a great job. But, of course, kudos to Lee Yi Kyung - this man is born to play in comedy dramas. His expressions were the funniest! It was also nice seeing Kim Ye Won playing different kind of role.

Overall, Waikiki 2 is a good watch. I hope you give it a try because it will make you happy for sure.

This review may contain spoilers
I've seen the first season & after finishing the second season, there are some differences.

First of all, not a lot of guests compared to the first season. I have often forget they owned a guesthouse and would be reminded when a random person comes ask them for something.

I think the comedy level has decrease from the first season but it still has its shared of comedy, though sometimes I did felt like it was forced and maybe the writers tried too hard to make something funny when it ended up being more annoying to me (Ex: Joon Ki pulling pranks on everybody). However, with the lessen in comedy, the writers made it up in the vulnerability of the characters. We got to see another side of the characters that I'm glad was shown. It shows the hard work, the hardships, and struggles when trying to reach your dreams. That gave me a sense of reality and I really appreciated that.

I also liked how each character got a spotlight in some episodes so there wasn't just 1 male lead or 1 female lead. Instead there were 3 male leads and 3 female leads. All of their stories, their dreams, & struggles were shown and that just gave these actors and actresses to show another side to them besides being funny. For me that highlight would be Joon Ki, when he suddenly got depressed after seeing another struggling actor facing a similar situation he went through. Overall, each character had a story and pretty much a beginning, middle, & end as well.

Romance though, just liked the first season, I didn't see much of it as I would've liked. Though I will admit, Ki Bong & Yoo Ri probably stole the spotlight in the romance department. They just had more screen time together and more interactions with each other, along with confessing their feelings a lot earlier. I saw the chemistry between Woo Shik & Soo Yeon in this drama. I was rooting for them but the writers just didn't do justice for them when it came to romance. Soo Yeon was too focus on her career so she never noticed Woo Shik in a boyfriend kind of way and that was disappointing. By the time they do end up together, it was too late for me because it occurred at the last episode, like the very last moment, and still, I wished Soo Yeon's lines would've been different. The connection I felt in the beginning and middle of the drama, was gone by the end. Joon Ki & Jung Eun, I felt like they should've just remained as friends. I kinda didn't like how the writers tried to pair them up in the end when there's really no chemistry between them other than friends.

Overall:
Story: The ending felt rushed. Some things (Ex: Ki Bong's dream of being a baseball player) all of the sudden came back to the plot after being gone for several episodes. The romance could've been a lot better for Woo Shik & Soo Yeon but I guess it kinda balanced out a little bit because of Ki Bong & Yoo Ri relationship. All the main characters played an important role because the writers showed their highs & lows in their lives.

Acting/Cast: I felt like this group bonded a whole lot more than season 1. They seemed a lot closer to each other. Some actors & actresses does outshine the others when it comes to specific scenes.

Music: I liked the osts played in this drama. It matches a lot of the scenes well. Though I may not add all to my music playlist, I personally liked the ost of Seol Ha Yoon - Forever More. This song, I would add to my playlist.

Rewatch: I probably wouldn't rewatch all of the episodes but probably specific episodes where each actor & actresses shine when it comes to showing their vulnerability.

Laugh Trip Until End

This is hilarious! If you are looking for an easy and light Korean drama show to watch, this is for you. There hasn’t been an episode that I didn’t laugh.

The male leads are super funny: Woo-sik, Ki-bong, and Jung-ki. The female leads complement them well, too. The story is nothing deep or you’d need rocket science to understand. Overall, it’s a feel-good movie that I’d rewatch anytime if I need a pick-me-upper.

I wish there’s a S3 with Ki-bong and Yu-ri. Go ahead and watch, you won’t regret it.

More of a romance-comedy drama than a sitcom

As what most other viewers say, Eulachacha Waikiki 2 is independent from Eulachacha Waikiki so it doesn't matter whether you watched it or not. However, good news to those who watched the first one, there were tiny references from the first one that you can look forward into.

The plot is still as funny as the first one but the plot is completely different. The characters may seem alike from the previous one but it's the complete opposite. The new characters added gave it a new flavor for the comedy and romance scenes which became highlighted in this drama.

I won't compare the actors between Eulachacha Waikiki and Eulachacha Waikiki 2 since they have their own charms individually but I personally enjoyed the first Eulachacha Waikiki because every episode has its own stories. Eulachacha Waikiki 2 followed a common romance comedy drama rather than a sitcom.

Overall, Eulachacha Waikiki 2 is a good drama to watch for all ages. It's still funny just like the first one and also has a lot of romantic scenes. It's a feel good drama as well with heartfelt and relatable plot. I hope you enjoy watching it as I enjoyed watching it.

A good laugh

First of all, to make everything clear, this season is not as good as the first one, but since they are not connected, I will rate it as an individual K-drama. If we don't compare it to the first season, it is a great K-drama for a good laugh.

Story:The story is quite simple yet interesting and fun. It is full of adventures, friendships, and a little cute love story. The plot manages to keep you entertained throughout its run without becoming too heavy or complicated. The charm of the story lies in its straightforwardness, making it an easy and enjoyable watch. The blend of adventure and friendship keeps things lively, while the romantic subplot adds a delightful touch of sweetness.

Cast: The cast is just right; everyone did their role justice. Each actor brings their character to life with enthusiasm and skill. Their performances are convincing and heartfelt, adding depth to the otherwise light-hearted narrative. The chemistry between the cast members enhances the overall experience, making the relationships on screen feel authentic and engaging. Whether they are delivering a comedic line or a tender moment, the actors hit all the right notes.

Rewatch Value:This K-drama is very rewatchable. I have already rewatched it a couple of times and still find it enjoyable. The humor and charm remain fresh, and there are always little details and nuances to discover with each viewing. It is the kind of show you can return to whenever you need a good laugh or a pick-me-up.

Overall: If you are looking for a lightweight K-drama with a good laugh, don't hesitate to watch this one. Despite not being as strong as its predecessor, it stands well on its own and provides plenty of entertainment. Its simple yet engaging story, well-cast actors, and high rewatch value make it a delightful series to enjoy. Whether you are a longtime fan of K-dramas or new to the genre, this show is sure to bring a smile to your face and brighten your day.

I always love Lee Jon ki’s acting he has the most difficult character to portray but made it really good and funny
He deserves an award

Watch this you can never go wrong with it.

The romance tho I hope it had more with Wusik and Suyeon almost started on episode 15 :( this was the drama where seon ho wasn’t a second lead and a happy ending for them

It felt really close to the first season although majority of the cast changed. I'm glad that they kept Joon Ki there though as he was my favourite character out of all of them and always brought a smile to my face, he had some of the most memorable scenes in both seasons of the drama.
In the first season it felt more matching as the three friends had similar jobs (actor, director, screenwriter) so I could easily imagine their happy ending but now they had different ones (actor, baseball player, music writer/producer) but I feel like the ending was still well done. I prefered the friendship group more in the first season but I liked the romantic couples more in this one.
The comedy didn't dissapoint me as well, Joon Ki was the greatest but other characters had so many funny scenes too.
A great watch 9/10.
