Super Sweet Story

This drama melted my heart. The arranged marriage story is not new, but what's different here was that both people honored the arrangement and tried to make it work. Granted initially more effort from the wife than the husband. But I was totally impressed and hooked when the husband showed extreme consideration for his wife when he rejected the other woman's attempt to spend time with him.
For an 18-yr old, the wife showed sufficient maturity to call out the lack of effort the husband was making in the beginning and sort of woke him up. The story did a good job balancing between showing the impact of the 10-yr age gap while also showing how the romance was possible and growing despite such difference.

The plot was good, although typical guy doesn't like girl at first but learns to love her. The first couple of eps were a bit slow, but after taht I was hooked.

The acting was really good, although at times it was a bit over the top. The main girl at first really annoyed me with her immaturity.

The music was fine, but nothing exceptional. As far as rewatch value it's definately rewatchable, although I'm not sure exactly where it would fall priority wise for rewatching.

I love contract marriage troupes. I came upon this drama and randomly decided to watch it and. . . It was very good. It's very cute, sweet and cheesy drama.

Story: 8/10 because we have the normal troupes arrange marriage, cunning 2nd female lead & jerky male lead & spunky, native female leads. But it was done kind of refreshing despite the drama being 11 years old!!!

Acting: 9/10 because I felt the chemistry between the leads. Lee Dong Gun did fantastic job in this drama. I like that they solve their conflicts quickly. Lee Da Hae did fantastic as the cunning, mean second lead. Even though some of the scenes were cheesy, the couple were cute together!! The leads have amazing chemistry. Their love was believable.

Music: 7/10 because it was cute, but not enough to make me listen to over and over. Some BGMs fit the scenes.

Re-watch value: 9/10 because it's very sweet and has so much humor despite being cheesy.

Overall, if you like older dramas, romantic-comedies, cheesy lines, marriage hijinks, the actors/actresses & seeing Lee Da Hae as the second lead, then this drama is for you.

It made me laugh a LOT. But, as many k-dramas it started to drag...Learn from the Japanese and just keep it short if you can't keep it entertaining. Still, the male lead is H.O.T. So I don't care if I sound like an adolescent, but I'm so giving this an extra point just for that. Oh, and the chemistry between the two characters, that's worth mentioning too. Oh, and how totally shameless the female antagonist was, and...No, that's really all.

If you're looking for something cute and easy to watch that requires low-commitment, then this is a good drama for you.

Yoon Jeong Sook is feisty, brave, opinionated, and doesn’t let Kwon Hyuk Joon boss her around. I loved everything about her, even if she mellowed a bit towards the end. Hyuk Joon is a genuinely stand up guy. He definitely has a, ‘I’m a man. You’re a woman. We should fulfill those roles' attitude, but there’s a sense of decency about him that makes you like him. I hated most of the members of Kwon Hyuk Joon’s family (except for precious grandpa, even if he went on about Ji Hye fulfilling her duties as a wife a little too much) as there was always a lot of talk about being a ‘good wife’ and having lots of babies, etc., and Yoon Jeong Sook definitely gets put through the ringer a couple times, but there whining and complaining and trying to manipulate from behind the scenes has no impact on our main characters and their lives, so it's easy to tune out.

What makes this drama so easy to watch, at least for me, is that from the get go, I wanted our leads together. They just made sense as a couple. There’s some really great chemistry between them, enough chemistry in fact, that our leads eventually got married to each other in real life. Granted, they got divorced later on in real life too, but I don’t think that has any bearing on the future of our dramas characters.

Right?

Overall, it was an adorable drama. It wasn't perfect, but it kept me coming back. So if you're looking for something fun that you can watch without too much stress or aggravation, I would definitely recommend this one. I don’t consider this one of my favorites, but I definitely think it was worth the watch.

Super short review coming through!

Fluffy and cute, and I wouldn't rewatch it even if I rewatched dramas, because his family drove me insane.

It's IMMEDIATELY ENGAGING.
The 2 words I'd use to describe it in a nutshell is GOOD FUN.

The main female is perfect for this role. She's just adorable. The male lead is just right. Together they have fantastic chemistry.
The COMEDY is GREAT and the STORY LINE is SWEET and the
ENDING is NICE. :)

I watched this drama because of the marry first/ love second storyline. It was a cute story and did not disappoint. The female lead was cute and did a great job. The male lead wasn't as strong of a choice, but did a fine job. This sort of reminded me of the movie My Little Bride, if you have seen that. I enjoyed seeing the relationship bloom between this married couple. Watching Jung-Soon mature and fight for the man she loves - even though he is her husband is very touching. She's a very likable character. The sister in law becomes very irritating after a while, trying to keep this couple apart.

Overall, the story was solid, the romance was cute and fun.

Cute Dimples, Contract Marriage Shenanigans, and a Second Lead Who Never Stood a Chance

📝 Review
(WARNING: Potential Spoilers — Emotional Damage Minimal, Joy High)

This drama works because it keeps things light and never mistakes stress for substance.
Sweet 18 knows exactly what it is: a breezy contract-marriage rom-com with charm, humor, and zero interest in emotionally tormenting its audience.
No palace politics. No dragged-out love triangles.
Just cute chaos and consistent payoff.

I watched this right after Princess Hours, late at night, on a whim—and honestly? Best decision I made that week.

Sweet 18 is light, comical, and refreshingly free of emotional hostage situations. No lurking second male lead draining the life out of the plot. Just good old-fashioned contract marriage nonsense with charm to spare.

Let’s start with Han Ji-hye.
Lawd. Those dimples. That girl is cute cute—weaponized adorableness. Her performance makes Jung Sook feel lively and genuine instead of irritating, which is not easy when you’re playing rebellious-without-a-plan.

The story flows easily from start to finish. Nothing feels dragged. Nothing makes you cringe—
except the Second Female Lead.

Moon Ga-young really thought she had a shot. She tried everything. She even tried pulling the sister into her schemes, which failed spectacularly. And the best part? The drama never rewards her delusion.

Every attempt is shut down.
Cleanly.
Repeatedly.
Gloriously.

After surviving Princess Hours, this felt like therapy.

The chemistry between the leads is fantastic—but not in a steamy, intense way. It’s adorable. These two act like middle schoolers whose crush just admitted they like each other back. The intimacy scenes are shy, awkward, sweet, and honestly kind of precious.

This drama isn’t trying to be epic.
It’s not trying to ruin your mental health.
It just wants to entertain you—and it succeeds.

💭 Final Mood
“Smiling at the screen like an idiot and not mad about it.”

I've seen this in 2005 when I was 10 years old and I haven't really paid attention, but I remember the entire premise.

I dunno what has gotten into me recently but I found myself revisiting these old K-dramas I've seen in the past on free TV that I haven't watched in full. Boy was it worth my time!

The story is simple. The characters aren't really that complicated but I love the romance! Han Ji Hye and Lee Dong Gun are just so good on screen! In this age, the entire premise might be off but it's their dynamic as a married couple is what I liked the most. It's not iffy, guys. There's no power manipulation or dominance, just cute romance. And I love that. The conflicts are also not that serious, and they get resolved easily.

If anything, I really love the sweetness of the couple; it's so adorable!

Sweet but light romance

Well, I sort of enjoyed watching it. I think it is way too long.
Some parts could be more deepended and some were unnecessary for me. 10 episodes should be more than enough.
Although the secondary cast was good, the story revolves mostly in the main couple.
I think FL was a strong woman but she looses some of her strength because of the responsibilities of marriage a first born.
He seems more immature then 18 old Fl, but I think that man, in general, are more childish.
The relationship between the couple and grandfather were great.

There were lots of funny and fluffy scenes.

REWATCH - there are few shows that I want and have rewatched, but this will not be one of them.

Overall - I enjoyed it. For me it it was too long and sometimes hard do follow...
The End - As always, after dragging for so long it ends abruptly, with a nice touch but could be longer.

Perfect!

This was one of the best dramas I’ve ever seen. I laughed. I cried. I would watch it again and again. It’s a beautiful story about growing in love. Sometimes the person you don’t exactly want is the very person you need in your life. This couple really show that opposites attract. I wanted to hate the villain but she just wants what they have but at the end of the day she is happy for them. I really wish that the sister in law would have gotten a little more payback than she did. she definitely would have deserved it.
