the music drove me insane
my biggest complaint I had about this series was the music. it was like the director/editor (I don't really know who makes decisions on the score) was scared of there EVER BEING A SILENT MOMENT. There was constant background music that was not mixed well, and often times it was the same volume or louder than the dialogue, which made it really distracting and hard to immerse myself in most scenes. there were sooooo many scenes where they were just going about their daily tasks and there was super annoying loud goofy background music!!other complaints I have:
- the constant pervasive presence of the LAYS. I understand they are your sponsor but oh my lord ?? Team always seemed to have a bag of Lay's glued to his hand
- Pharm always looked scared every time Dean tried to initiate a kiss ?
- They introduced MASSIVE CONFLICT in the very last episode and then resolved it almost immediately, essentially removing any real stress about their relationship and essentially decreasing the stakes back down to zero. it would have made sense if Pharm had slowly started doubting their relationship as the series progressed, instead of just suddenly starting to feel that way in the last episode. And then you don't even have to wait it out, it just time jumps 3 months and they almost immediately get back together.
- It felt a bit weird to me that Dean changed his surname to Intouch's and gave Pharm In's ring. Yes, they accepted that they were the reincarnation of Korn and In, but I thought that they were trying to convey that it was time to move on and let them go, and move on with life as Dean and Pharm. Dean giving Pharm In's ring just kind of felt like... he didn't want to let it go. That he always wanted Pharm to be reminded of who he was? Because the ring would kind of be a constant reminder. But Pharm seemed ok with it I guess.
Things I liked:
- I am just a huge sucker for the fated love/reincarnation/red string of fate trope. I will watch pretty much anything that has it in there.
- The scene in the grocery store where Dean and Pharm come face to face for the first time and lock eyes.... ELECTRIC. I think my heart skipped a beat. I feel like Fluke is great at conveying emotions with his eyes and that scene just made me feel on the very edge of my seat. The shock, the memory flashback, and then the outpouring of tears. I think it was great and that scene alone sucked me into the series.
- Pharm setting boundaries.
- I think the show had an interesting group of side characters whom I felt invested in. I loved Team, Win, Manow, and Del as characters. I'm excited to watch Team and Win's spinoff.
Overall, it was an enjoyable watch, and I see why people love the show. But the music combined with the rushed pacing at the end kind of ruined it for me, and I don't see myself rewatching it. I do plan on watching the spinoff about Team and Win though.

Winteam for the win
This serious is a mix of really serious, but slow and beautiful BLs and of the typical comedy university BLs. The story of Dean and Pharm is more serious and "sad" (regarding their "past lifes") and everything regarding the life at university in the present and the other side couple are more like the typical Thai engineering BL.First of all, I still don't understand why they didn't make the time line more evident, like show when this all happened between Intouch and Korn, at least use a filter too show that it was long time ago. It didn't bother me too much though, after I figured out who is "from the past" and who's not.
And I wish Dean and Pharm would have more dialog and less awkward scenes (where they don't talk and there is just this awkward silence). And they're story was a little bit too long-paced for me and I'm not sure if I really feel their chemistry. But I'm probably just not a fan the character type of Dean (like not being too expressive).
And they get outshined by the side couple, Win and Tim. They just can't compete with the chemistry Bounprem(winteam) have. It was a little bit sad that Win and Team had so little scenes (I watched their sequel "Between us" and honestly.... they are better at staying the side couple) . The pacing generally was a little bit too slow for me and they could have shorted it a bit and maybe put more Bounprem scenes in this series instead of making a whole series only for them.
And I have to mention that I absolutely loved InKorn, they have chemistry. Honestly I liked them more than their incarnations.
Honestly, I'm not really into the whole "incarnations" thing generally, but I enjoyed UWMA anyways. This was my first BL ever and when I first watched it, I gave it a 9,5/10, but right now, having rewatched some of the scenes, I'm don't think I would rate it that high again having watched many other BLs, so I give it 9 (probably it would have been 8,5 if it wasn't so nostalgic for me).

Soooo heartbreaking and emotional
Omw this series is sooooooo fireball good. This director is good . This series had me literally emotional. The way they incorporated the first guys stories with the different flashback. Literally had me crying. I was cussing also. Why can't some parents mind their business and let their kids love who they want. That starting when they committed suicide I was so angry at their parents. On episode 2 right now and it's still playing with my emotions. Can't wait to see how this will play out with the family, the couples and everything. Another thing what I enjoyed was the female cast she had me screaming. Her head ain't good at all. There's always that one friend??? Would I rewatch this series, No. To me it was to emotional. Was this review helpful to you?
An incredible emotional rollercoaster
This series is one of the only that has actually had me in tears on multiple ooccasions. Even though we dont see them much, i developed an attachment to korn and in and i feel like they told their story in such a beautiful way. I do agree with some people that it was a bit too long but honestly im just glad we finally have a bl with more than 12 episodes lol. Boun prem were *chefs kiss*The ost (idk what its called) is literally such a bop, ive listend to that song like 1000 times. It felt a bit unnecessary to add but im glad that pharm established a clear boundary with dean in regards to the sex stuff when he wasn't ready for it, its nice to see the most basic form of consent in a bl

Perfect Series
I'll start by saying that this was my first Thai drama ever: I was on YouTube when I randomly saw one of its trailers. Therefore it has a significance that overcomes the work itself and influences a part of my life. Indeed UWMA introduced me to the Thai drama world and encouraged me to deepen that world, making me passionate from the first episode.Since the beginning of 2020, this drama has been my touchstone: I usually compare every new series to this one. I always think I was lucky to start with UWMA. Although there are some "questionable" scenes, overall the work seems to be well-balanced:
- there are cliches but they aren't that unpleasant
- great equilibrium between main and side couples
- the story is captivating, the suspense and mystery amiable and long enough. And I love the red thread trope <3
- supportive and enjoyable music (I downloaded at least two songs)
- the acting is [I wasn't gonna say perfect but] if not we are almost there. I was there with them, near them. For real. I lost count of how many times I cried in front of the screen.
- nice production
UWMA brings along considerable emotional baggage, it's a cross of destinies. There's poetry in it. It is both soft, like clouds or cotton candy, and rough as the impetuosity of life.
P.S. I don't consider the rewatch value in my final rating.
thank you for reading :)

Boring.
I watched this show so i can watch between us after, and god it was painful. The only good thing was win and team. All the main couple did was crying over and over again. I really dont understand why the ranking is so high and even higher than between us. Those 17 episodes were the longests i ever watched. I watched a lot of shows and bls and not all were good, but this is the worst and the only one that was this boring to watch. I was always waiting for a win or team scene but sometimes we couldnt see them during one or two episodes, you can imagine how long it was. Anyway, dont watch it, itll be a waist of time and you dont need to watch it to understand between us.Was this review helpful to you?
Too beautiful and emotional to not watch
I have seen like a lot of Bl drama's but this is one of the few that really touched my heart. There was no over-exaggerating, the character-development was shown really well not only in the main characters but also in the side characters. There was no lengthening the plot and no necessary drama. The cast/actors were all really good. You know sometimes you watch drama's where you can see the character is sad but it doesn't really have an effect on you because of the terrible acting well this is not of those. The emotions are clearly shown and you can actually feel the pain, sadness and happiness of the characters as the story moves on. If I had to describe the series in one word it would be "beautiful".
The plot in it self was really good and there were no major plot-holes and the ending was really satisfactory leaving me satisfied with everything. What also set this series apart was that it had a different plot than most cliché BL plots and I am happy enough to say that it was executed well. If you want to take a break from clichés this series is for you.

I definitely understand now, why UMWA is so polarizing.
What I liked:+ I'm a sucker for deep stories around mental health, trauma, reincarnation, soulmates etc., so the tragedy got me instantly interested.
+ The couples are adorable!
+ Manaow! She's so funny. Del and Don are also hilarious and entertaining! The whole friend group is just so enjoyable, supportive and refreshing.
+ Seeing the general support they get from different people.
+ Dean and Win admiring Pharm and Team together. I love when the best friends admiring their boyfriends together. u.u (sideeye to Boss and Pai c.c)
+ I feel like the screentime between Korn x Intouch and Dean x Pharm was well balanced. We see enough from Korn x Intouch to understand their story, but not too much to get bored.
+ The OST. The OST is everything!!!
+ The loud noise trigger were well done, because they are also a surprise for the watching person.
+ Win. His hair - especially when it's not tied together (tied up? Open? Idk, lmao. English isn't my first language so I don't know how to say it right :'D). His tattoos. His piercings. His attitude. His personality. I always say I need support characters like him in a lead role, because I just loooove guys like him. This flirty, cheeky behavior is so hot. T_T his facial expressions are so... entertaining. :D it's refreshing to see someone using his face, because Dean is more often Mr. Stoneface and Pharm looks overwhelmed most of the time. :'D and Boun really transports a lot of emotions and thoughts through his face!
+ How the flashbacks formed Pharm and Dean. You can see exactly why they behave in a certain way. Pharm is traumatized by all those sad flashbacks, because Intouch lost Korn right in front of his eyes. Dean gets all the sweet and lovely flashbackmoments, because he wasn't forced to see how the love of his life shot himself. Pharm is way more cautious. He needs to protect himself, because he's scared to feel the pain of losing his love again. ("Again", because he feels Intouchs emotions. Someone mentioned they wouldn't say UWMA is about reincarnation, because Dean and Pharm state multiple times that they are not Korn and Intouch. Just to be clear here.) While Dean is determined to pursue and protect Pharm. Something Korn couldn't do for Intouch.
+ P'Deaaaaan. Yes. I actually enjoyed this.
+ The crying. When I first read about the crying I expected something absolutely different than what I finally saw. They shed some tears after the flashbacks. They all have a reason to cry. No one is crying like a wholing Wulf all the time. So I definitely expected worse and was surprised, how beautiful Flukes crying is. x) Although Ohm's acting lacks a bit in this area. - And for the people who are saying that Korn's reason to shot himself is non-existent -> Duh?! Did you even pay attention? He has the pressure from his dad, who threatened him to hurt Intouch (he literally said Intouch is in trouble if Korn doesn't break up), the pressure from Intouch's Dad, the responsibility for his siblings, because he doesn't want them to get involved with the illegal business and on top he thinks he isn't good enough for Intouch and the reason In lost his smile plus pretty sure depressions because of all this. In...what age? 21? Yeah, bro, no, don't tell me Korn didn't have a reason for his actions.
+ The sweet little moments between Pharm and Dean. You can clearly see how much Dean loves and admires Pharm. Sometimes you can see this from Pharm too. Surprisingly a lot of kisses in the show. They are all more or less sweet and good. Imho there was no bad kiss, given that Pharm is always shy, overwhelmed and laughing, because he's embarrassed. I just realized in episode 15 that Dean uses his sweet, soft, calm voice to talk to Pharm. :')
What I didn't like:
- At first I enjoyed the slow pacing. The pining, the admiration, the glances for each other, siiigh. It was so cute. But I recognized that my concentration dropped after episode 6 and it was hard to go through the episodes, because I got easily distracted. But this could be, because I knew about the plot already, so maybe I wasn't determined to watch it, because I already knew what would happen. I think, that's my own fault, so I can't really blame it on the drama though.
- Pharm and this stereotypically "the bottom isn't allowed to want intimacy"-trope from 1837. I am really glad that there are more and more BL dramas nowadays which break out from this sh*t, because it's so outdated. I love top/bottom dynamics, but I don't like it, when the smaller/softer character is portrayed as if he doesn't want intimacy at all and it's often uncomfortable and so so child-like. It's not as bad as it may sounds, but you can clearly see that Pharm isn't really comfortable sometimes and I think it doesn't fit here, because there is almost no progress, he's so uneasy all the time.. I'm totally okay with characters, who needs time to get comfortable, but seeing almost no progress is frustrating. And that Dean alone decides when they have sex for the first time is just a nother thing about this trope that I doesn't like.(Here is a Tumblr post I found really interesting to this topic: https://www.tumblr.com/absolutebl/644962898104467456/hey-i-have-a-question-for-your-dean-and-pharm )
- I don't know if Between Us was already settled when they made UWMA, but Win x Team doesn't make a lot of sense here, because we see absolutely no development of the story. We just see the result, kinda. There aren't on screen and than after episode 10 (I don't remember which one exactly, maybe 12?) they suddenly appear and you just ask yourself "What? Why? How did this happen?" :'D but yeah, since there is Between Us, I don't know if this is really a big deal. But knowing that BU came out 3 years later... People who watched the show in real time must feel like someone was kidding them, lmao. Because I can't remember seeing a side couple getting such a weak storyline.
- Little flaws in the production/editing. The sound was sometimes soo crispy. And little mistakes like food, that looks different in the next cut, Wins hair which changes all the time between black roots and no roots etc. etc. :'))
- The product placement was just..too much and too bad placed. x)
- Del ending up with Alex is just weird and nonsense and Manaow & Pruek are also just rushed. Felt like everyone needs fast a relationship at the and. Buuut they are cute, I have to admit. :')
Overall I can agree with a lot of things other people stated already. It definitely has it flaws. The pacing, the acting sometimes, Pharm being overly shy all the time and just laughs it off.. I don't want to repeat so much. ^^' But I enjoyed a lot of this show and I love all the little details and conclusions.
I would recommend to everyone to give it a try by yourself, if you're interested. The first few episodes stole my heart. The OST just supported this fact - The first episode, first scene, first song, I knew I lost my heart to this show. I recognized myself laughing out loud so many times. I sat in front of my tablet with a smile from ear to ear, because the story was so heartwarming. And I am absolutely not into slow pace usually. ^^' so if you think about watching it, just try it. Fortunately we all can drop shows if we don't enjoy it.
I would rate it with an 8 out of 10, because I don't like this stereotypically bottom-doesnt-want-intimacy-most-of-the-time writing and because the pacing was sometimes just too slow. I think I like slow pacing to a certain amount, but UWMA just pushed it a bit too far.

I loved it
Although there were some strange parts in the seriesI really liked the story and the cast is really cute.
It was very powerful and strong and it deserves so much 10 stars, but I can't give it because I was a little disappointed with the last episode (which I think they should have done another one), because they just got back together after 3 months in a way that I think is a little delusional, maybe also a little lacking a lot Details that are very important to me about their future together.
I was disappointed that only at the end Manao has (and not exactly) a boyfriend, and that although there is the drama of the other couple (I don't know how to write their names) they still omitted a lot of details about them and only concentrated on the main couple.
The plot is very, very complicated, but fits together amazingly.

The idea of the red thread behind this story makes this so much more than a simple romance.
Love stories in general can be beautiful, tragic, heartwarming etc. This story somehow manages to be everything. The concept of the red thread brings a whole new layer and depth that allows for exploration of topics such as death, mourning, atonement and regret. It gets quite heavy, but all of that is beautifully balanced by the promise of a kind of do over. Korn and Intouch’s story just broke my heart but Dean and Pharm’s put it back together. What’s more the families are healed to the extent they can be. I really loved that. This show handles it’s dark subject matter very skillfully. I cried watching this and that doesn’t happen to me often. The characters are all fairly easy to like. My heart went out to Korn especially. What a difficult life to be ostracized among your peers for your family’s bad reputation, to suffer your father’s expectations to do something you deem immoral, to have siblings you love and worry about only to have them be used against you, and to find someone who brings you happiness only for the most influential people in both your lives to forbid your relationship and hurt him in the process. I can’t say I blame him for seeing no way out.
The only character who at times got on my nerves was Pharm. The shyness was cute at first but his negative attitude toward Dean’s displays of affection and attraction was troubling. A couple mutually in love should be able to be demonstrative without being made to feel like a pervert for feeling up your own boyfriend’s behind. A lot of times I felt Dean deserved better. He’s a rare gem. Apart from being the sweetest, he also surprisingly delivered some of the smoothest lines ever.
The pacing of this series was quite slow but that was only an issue for me at a few points along the way. For the most part, it has enough going for it to hold your interest.
Finally, Ja as P’Sin was still damn hot, wig and glasses and all. ?

A LOT OF PAIN IN A LOT OF LOVE
This story has a big rewatch value but I don't think I'll see it again because of the depressing theme that made me cry several times but this story is really amazing I won't easily forget. Pharm is the perfect uke who can cook amazingly. Most popular cute boy. Dean is the perfect seme who is always considerate, gentle and asks for consent. It just proves top doesn't have to be toxic, aggressive, perverted to be cool. At first it looked like love at first sight but soon it was obvious it's everlasting love that's living even after death of their ancestors. The suicide at the beginning really scared me to watch more. I thought it'll be just depressing and thrilling but seeing couple like WinTeam won me back to give it a try. There were lots of tears, cooking, lay's, smiles, makeup tutorials but most importantly love and not just romantically but also strong love between friends, siblings, parents and their children. This story was really beautiful and it was pretty balanced how the first couple was the harsh reality when they just couldn't be together but couldn't separate even after death. The second couple had what the first hadn't and that's acceptance from their surroundings, their family, friends, basically everyone and that's how their sweet love could continue and third couple was the natural love without any fate. Just senior falling in love with his hungry junior and their feelings were slowly mutual. They don't have many moments here but all of them are worth it and make you love them. Boun is just the hottie who carries this show and Prem the funny character that lightens the mood when everything seems down. This show is worth it of winning any award and it's a shame people who's taste is not bl or basically gay ships won't get to see this because there is much more than gay romance. Was this review helpful to you?
