Soooo heartbreaking and emotional
Omw this series is sooooooo fireball good. This director is good . This series had me literally emotional. The way they incorporated the first guys stories with the different flashback. Literally had me crying. I was cussing also. Why can't some parents mind their business and let their kids love who they want. That starting when they committed suicide I was so angry at their parents. On episode 2 right now and it's still playing with my emotions. Can't wait to see how this will play out with the family, the couples and everything. Another thing what I enjoyed was the female cast she had me screaming. Her head ain't good at all. There's always that one friend??? Would I rewatch this series, No. To me it was to emotional.Was this review helpful to you?

No, the main roles are completely different level. Both the main couple boys sadly cannot measure up to the "flashback couple" we see right in the beginning of the series. The two end up tragically in a blatant stupid scene, when they shoot their brains out while both their fathers are only helplessly watching, but then the unexplicably good cast (one of fathers is portrayed by Nirut Sirijanya! where did Wabi Sabi get Nirut Sirijanya?) is gone and for the rest of the series we are supposed to watch someone... well, else. The only big role for a female is a loud, chubby and annoying girl, to remind us we are to firmly concentrate on boys, here. Mean Phiravich is in insignificant, small side-role. Considering that is how they used the most attractive guy they had on the whole cast... Most viewers praised the second couple. Shall they save this?
So far, I keep watching to give this a chance. There are still scenes with the "old couple", which I skip by now, though. I can watch either one version or the other. And if I am to give chance to the "new couple", I have to quit watching the old one. And I honestly want to see how much there is to this couple if we don't count the past life destiny thing.
Also, there should be the 'WinTeam' couple to watch, and I am all for it, if they should be free of any "reincarnated lovers" cr*p. But, as the secondary couple, they have less screentime: so I'll have to wait for it...
Episode 4, Mean Phiravich's character expresses his interest in one of the boys. Whoops! Tricky. I'm sure I am now not alone who'd just ride on this wave and watch another 'Love By Chance 2' here. Who cares about the other boy, now? He can't beat Mean Phiravich.
Epi 6: Scenes with the previous life couple KEEP coming. Why?? The cast is SO much better. It's more interesting because they live in late 80's when being gay is not so much in fashion. But, as their scenes are only random flashbacks, this show's creators did not have to do the whole "period" drama properly. Instead, these scenes help the contemporary lame duo - threatened by the presence of Mean Phiravich - to have at least some chemistry, thanks to the audience already knowing their tragic love past story and therefore feeling for the characters even before they earned it. See, on both accounts, this show's creators made their job easier for themselves. So, my guess is we'll watch this half-and-half for the rest of the series...
Also this episode, for the first time I noticed WinTeam interacting a bit. There is also Plan Rathavit in his little guest role and it's SO cute you wish to keep him & the main cast to p**s off:) But they stay there, virtually haunted by the CONSTANT flashbacks. I smirked thinking whether people would be able to actually live their normal life, if everyone was able to remember their past lives so readily.
Epi 7, the boys said to each other that they remember one another from the past life and that they found each other now. The way I see it, it could be the end of this story... I feel no need to weep about it for 10 more episodes. Perhaps next role of Mean Phiravich will finally be in something good?

Guys i don’t even know if I have the right to create a review but I’m doing it anyways. I didn’t finish the show it could be because I found it a little boring and awkward. NOT THAT THE ACTING WAS BAD. because it wasn’t the acting was actually really good but I was way more interesting in the original couple then the (now) couple not sure why. Another reason why I probably dropped it was because at the time school was rough but that’s besides the point. The storyline was good and acting was nice the music was good. I absolutely loved winteam ofc side couples tend to be my favorite.Was this review helpful to you?
La storia mi è piaciuta molto, nel complesso è infatti molto scorrevole e interessante. Mi sono immersa totalmente nella storia già dalla prima parte del primo episodio. Capire che cosa era successo a Korn e In, capire il perché hanno fatto un gesto così estremo, il tutto con l'incredibile recitazione di Earth. Sto consigliando questa serie a tutti quelli che possono essere interessati, merita davvero di essere vista.
Alcune parti però mi sono risultate troppo lente e pesanti, mentre altre invece troppo sbrigative, ma nonostante questo mi ha trattenuto davanti allo schermo.

İZLEDİĞİM EN İYİ BL'LERDEN BİRİ
bu diziyi diğer izlediğim tüm BL'lerden ayıran en temel özelliği LGBTİ+fobinin romantize edilmemesi ve aklanmıyor oluşu. diğer birçok popüler BL'de görülebilecek "heteronun geye dönüşmesi" gibi, "homofobikler gizli geydir" gibi, "aşığım ki kıskanıyorum" gibi şiddeti, ayrımcılığı aklayan ve romantize eden zırvalar, alt metinler yok ya da minimal düzeyde bu dizide. dolayısıyla diziyi izlerken çok fazla cringe olmadım, tetiklenmedim. Tabii bu tüm okulun iki erkeğin ilişkide olamasını fetişize ediyor ve dizinin bunu aklıyor oluşu gerçeğini değiştirmiyor. benim gözüme çarpan yegane problematik kısım da buydu.bunun dışında karakterler ve ilişkileri tatlı. benim kişisel favori çiftim win ve team, ilişkilerinin gelişimini çok görememiş olsam da. ikisi de gözüme aşırı hitab ediyor. ay ne kadar çekici insanlar öyle. ana çiftin ilişkisi ise aşırı pofidik, ponçik, kalp ısıtıcı bir ilişki. birbirlerini kıskanıyorlar ama bu aşırıya kaçmayan, psikolojik şiddete varmayan, birbirlerinin kişisel sınırlarını ihlal etmeyen kıskançlık.
genel anlamda hikayeyi oldukça sevdim. anlatıyı bozan, genel kurgudan uzaklaşılan bir kısım, olay olduğunu hatırlamıyorum. gerilim yaratmak uğruna eklenmiş saçma sapan olaylar izlemedim. hikaye tüm dizi boyunca aheste ama sağlam adımlarla ilerledi. tek problem gördüğüm olay: suçu günahı olmayan dean'e asıl suçlululardan biri olan korn'un babasından defalarca özür diletilmesi oldu. korn o şerefsiz herif yüzünden ölmüş ama herif ağzını bile açmazken dean defalarca özür diliyor. niye? korn intihar ettiği için mi? intahara sürükleyen zaten o şerefsiz herif değil miydi? birisini ölüme gönderdikten sonra özür dahi dileyemiyorken pişman olsan ne yazar? dean'e haksızlık edildi o anlarda.
içerikten şekle geçecek olursak ise şunları söyleyebilirim: dizinin her bölümü sanki bir film gibiydi. kendi deneyimlerimden yola çıkarak söylüyorum, diziler genelde uzun süreli yayınlar oldukları için estetiklikleri ile çok uğraşılmayan, oraya verilecek emeğin başka yerlere aktarıldığı yapımlardır. sinematografi mesela çok geri planda kalır. bu dizide ise böyle değildi. her sahne kameranın estetik bir biçimde kullanıldığını düşünüyorum.
yine benzer şekilde anlatı (narrative) de oldukça iyi kurgulanmış ve işlenmişti. yavaş akıyordu ama estetize ediyordu. dolayısıyla arda üç film izlemişim gibi bir yorgunluk oluştursa da art arda üç bölüm izlemekten keyif alıyordum.
oyunculuk hakeza çok iyiydi. aşırı duygusal sahnelerde dahi oyuncular duyguları verebiliyordu. başka bir sahnede komediyi de elden bırakıyordular. bir tek manow karakterinin oyuncusundan emin değilim ama o da aşırı karikatürize bir tipi oynaması gerektiği için bu belirsizliği yarattı sanırım bende.
not: türkiyeden bir izleyici olarak umarım diziye yaptığım eleştirilerim kültürel cehalet ve saygısızlık içermiyordur. olabildiğince bunu yapmamaya dikkat ediyorum ama yaptıysam içten bir özür diliyorum.

Un bon BL qui sort des sentiers battus
Le scénario qui sort résolument des sentiers battus des BL aux synopsis rose bonbon, la réalisation de qualité et le jeu tout en finesse des acteurs ont permis à UWMA de devenir l'un des classiques du genre, même s'il n'est pas exempt de tout reproche.La série est basée sur la concept d'âme sœur et fait intervenir quatre couples, dont deux principaux, à deux époques différentes. Le scénario ne recule pas devant la difficulté, et traite de manière sérieuse et responsable (ce qu'on a rarement vu dans les dramas BL) de sujets difficiles, tels que l'homophobie, le suicide, la souffrance, la culpabilité, le pardon. Le drama alterne avec aisance les moments de vie quotidienne, avec ses joies et ses difficultés, et les moments plus tourmentés voire torturés. Certaines scènes sont dures et peuvent être difficiles à supporter.
Les acteurs sont formidables, particulièrement les deux "bottoms" principaux, joués par Fluke et Earth, d'une fraîcheur et d'un naturel désarmants, qui passent avec une facilité déconcertante du rire aux larmes. J'ai été moins réceptive aux personnages, sérieux et ténébreux, des "tops", mais cela permet d'opposer les deux moitiés des deux couples principaux et de comprendre les choix différents opérés par chacun.
La critique principale que je pourrais faire, et qui m'a fait baisser la note globale donnée au drama, se situe du côté du montage. Celui-ci n'est pas linéaire, on passe d'une époque à une autre, au lieu de suivre chaque histoire dans un sens chronologique, ce qui fait sens ; cela permet en effet de monter en puissance et de dévoiler les liens entre les deux couples au fur et à mesure, et cela permet, ce qui n'est vraiment pas négligeable, de mélanger scènes difficiles et scènes plus joyeuses. Le problème est que cela est fait de manière un peu brouillonne, ce qui provoque une certaine confusion, notamment concernant le fil narratif du couple initial. On a du mal à suivre l'évolution de leur histoire et les changements de leur état d'esprit et de leur comportement. Cela crée un trou que le spectateur doit remplir seul et, ce qui est plus problématique, cela nous éloigne des personnages, qui ont pourtant besoin de toute notre empathie.
Je pourrais également râler sur les placements de produits, vraiment trop flagrants, mais on a l'habitude, et sur le mauvais niveau des "nageurs" du club de natation (pas nécessaire de les montrer plonger si les acteurs ne savent pas plonger !), mais je rentre dans les détails.
Au final, les couples sont séduisants (j'ai parlé des deux couples principaux, mais WinTeam joué par BounPrem est à croquer, cf. leur spin-off Between Us), les acteurs incroyables et le traitement du sujet, casse-gueule, délicat et intelligent.
A voir.
PS : l'OST est fantastique.

J'ai pleuré, souri et encore pleuré surtout pour l'épisode final, l'interprétation de Fluke est juste formidable, le seul reproche que je lui ferai et cela est certainement dû au scénario ou autre c'est sa gène face à Dean qui est tout de même l'amour de sa vie tout au long de la série...
Je le recommande vivement et espère voir une suite pour connaître l'évolution des autres couples formés durant l'histoire...
Je suis triste que cette aventure se termine mais également heureuse de ce dénouement....

Un piccolo capolavoro!
Guardare Chicago typewriter è stato come un bellissimo viaggio da cui ritorno con un bagaglio pieno di emozioni.Parto col dire che è da Goblin che non vedevo un drama fantasy così meravigliosamente perfetto, e per me vuol dire davvero tanto se prendo in considerazione il mio drama del cuore come termine di paragone!!
Punto forte di Chicago sono stati sicuramente due elementi: il cast e la trama. Per quanto riguarda la trama, l'ho trovata innovativa, intrigante e davvero ben sviluppata, con una magnifica alternanza tra passato e presente che non confonde lo spettatore. Ho amato tantissimo l'ambientazione storica, tra l'altro curata alla perfezione.
Poi c'è il cast che in un'unica parola lo potrei definire formidabile: ogni attore ha interpretato alla perfezione il proprio personaggio rendendolo assolutamente indimenticabile. Ma, semplicemente favolosi, sono stati i tre attori protagonisti. Han Se Joo: l'ho amato per il cambiamento che subisce lentamente: da scrittore cinico e diffidente a ragazzo più fiducioso nel prossimo e affettuoso. E ciò sarà possibile grazie all'amore e all'amicizia, i due grandi valori che spiccano in questo drama (anche se di valori che spiccano ce ne sono tanti). Jeon Seol: dolcissima ma anche forte e determinata nel passato come nel presente. E infine, il mio preferito, Yoo Jin Ho: il suo personaggio è riuscito a commuovermi profondamente (in questo caso non posso dire di più perché rischio di fare spoiler).
Poi ci sono le ost, tutte ma proprio tutte meravigliose, anche se una in particolare brilla per la sua bellezza: Satellite di Saltnpaper, che si piazza al primo posto( insieme a Beautiful di Goblin) tra le ost del mio cuore.
Anzi devo dire che impresso nel mio cuore c'è ogni dettaglio di questa storia che mi ha fatto ridere tanto, piangere tanto, ma soprattutto sognare...mi ha fatto sognare di un amore che può sconfiggere qualsiasi barriera che il cuore di una persona si impone...mi ha fatto sognare di un'amicizia che può durare anni, secoli e mai spezzarsi... mi ha fatto sognare di una libertà che può costare tanto ma che vale la pena raggiungere.
Quindi, per me, questo drama è un vero CAPOLAVORO e merita di essere visto e vissuto almeno una volta nella vita. Anche ora sono travolta da mille emozioni e vorrei scrivere molto di più perché ciò che ho scritto non basta per descrivere quello che ho provato guardando questo drama unico e perfetto.
