whooho a drama filled with Busan accent and fishes(?) :)

So quite a nice drama actually, nothing really special or over the board stuff (let's say a soft drama)
Actually the plot does remind you of some other dramas because it includes the basic elements (a.k.a amnesia, orphan kid, troublesome past, opposition etc.)
Don't get me wrong now... it is not a melodrama ^^ it's quite amusing drama and enjoyable most of the times (especially when they react or parodies movies, songs,...)
Of course this wouldn't be a drama that you would use in order to dramatize your friend or make him/her a dramatard x)

the cast was great, they did an amazing job with the Busan Accent and also they fit the characters really well
i really like all the casts, you get to like them quite easily (i read that some people did not like the main girl but in my point of view, the production team choose the actress well since we are not talking about a really gorgeous and sexy girl but a mob's daughter, hardworking girl)

Music and Rewatch value are low since the music did not really catch my interest
Rewatch value is low since it's not really a drama that you would want to rewatch 5 times... once is okay but not more

Overall 7... if you want to see something funny and filmed in Busan then this is your stuff :) of course there is romance (^w^)

I think the most important thing I could say in this review is that you just have to stick with it! I was wholly unimpressed for the first 5-6 episodes. It was nothing new, and I absolutely could not get used to the lead actress's accent. And for the most part, the comedy just wasn't funny for me. But something changed around episode 7, and I was just hooked!

Of course, that still doesn't mean there is anything exceptional about this drama. The storyline is unbelievable and the characters over the top. The twist are more like straight lines and the "villains" aren't really deserving of the title. A good punch in the face, maybe, but not really evil necessarily.

What makes this drama worth the 16+ hours is post-accident Nam Hae. His character is so...adorable? It's hard to find the right adjective! His feelings for So Ra were cute and it was fun to watch them try and sort stuff out. And her and her hands, always sticking them out to help a scared, lost man who has nothing was really touching. Their romance is worth the watch!

The uncles at times were both hilarious and aggravating. I loved how much they loved So Ra and her father, and I really loved So Ra's dad. His character probably had me bustin' out laughing the most.

I really liked most of the music, though the beach/ukulele/Hawaiian-esque instrumental that they played at the end of most episodes and during the "sexy" parts was a mood killer! Nothing worse than fangirling over a kiss to have that music bash you over the head.

If you want something fun, easy and non-life altering, give this a shot! Though, I wouldn't blame you if you fast forwarded through a lot of the first 5-6 episodes!

Haeundae Lovers is an almost-complete mixture of all clichés you’ll ever find in dramaland. Adopted protagonist? Check. Arranged marriage? Check. Controlling parent? Check. Pitiful and sometimes scary third wheel? Check. Amnesia? Check. And the list probably goes on. The story wasn’t original. The cast isn’t really that captivating, but I did find the cast extremely sexy. Kim Kang Woo, Jo Yeo Jung, and Jung Suk Won? Sexy, right?

I don’t know why I decided to watch this drama, but I don’t regret a thing. It made me happy somehow, and made my mind relax because of its lightness. I was watching this along with Gaksital when the latter was still airing and it really helped ease my mind from so many mindblowing happenings in Gaksital. More than the story and the cast, I think I liked the music more. The music is really good, and there was this song by Kang Min Kyung which haunted me for a week, I think.

Overall, Haeundae Lovers is a fluffy drama that I think should be watched if and only if you’re a fan of the actors in it, or if you want to revisit drama clichés all in one drama, or if you’re just looking for something light to watch.

I will preface this by stating that rom/com is not my favorite genre. I began watching this because I like Kim Kang Woo. It took me forever to watch it until I got to episode 12. It goes pretty fast from there.

The plot for this drama isn't original, but it is still good. I swear they used every Korean drama trope that has been invented. There is long lost family members, amnesia, hateful exes (or in this case they are still actually married for a while), hateful and loving parents all based around three different sides trying to gain a hotel in Haeundae. The one real complaint that I have is that the ending did not provide enough story between the leads. I get they felt the need to wrap up all the extra characters story lines, but it is still annoying.

The acting is pretty good. It isn't the best I have ever seen and there are a lot of insignificant characters. The one character that I enjoyed the most is Go Joong Shik played by Im Ha Ryong. He is so adorable and brings the entire story together. Kim Kang Woo's speaking pattern in this drama is what drew me in. He was excellent. I have never seen Jo Yeo Jung in anything, but she is cute and funny while being strong enough to take care of her family in her role as Go So Ra. Jung Suk Won plays the second male lead of Choi Joon Hyuk. When are they going to stop putting him in supporting roles and make him the lead so that he can get the girl? I'm ready for it drama world!!!

The music is ok.

I probably won't rewatch it, but I don't regret the time I spent watching this drama.

Overall I would say that if rom/com is your favorite genre, then you should watch this drama. It is cute and funny.

Pure Fluff. Mindless entertainment. Not a classic by any stretch. These are all ways I have described Haeundae Lovers. But... I also said: It's cute, funny, kinda sexy and what the heck...fluff isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes mindless entertainment is just what the doctor ordered.

Perhaps it was the timing of watching this drama that actually made me like it a lot. It was totally cliche'. The only things it really has to recommend it are the chemistry of the leads, the eye candy, the hilarious dynamic of the three Uncles and the fact that I watched it at the same time I was watching darker dramas. But getting serious:

The writing is just okay. The plot is pretty standard but there are little touches here and there that kept me watching and deviated tonally even from some other dramas I've seen. There were some plot twists I didn't see coming but on the whole, I knew what I was in for and I got exactly what I expected. This ain't no Secret Garden but hey...It's fun.

The acting was fine. The chemistry between the leads and the funny Uncles are what make this show watchable. There were a few characters that got on my last nerve so I concentrated on the main story line and tolerated the rest. This is more of a writing issue slash personal preference. No one did a bad job playing their parts.

I loved Kim Kang Woo in this drama. He was a darling Lead. Funny and so sweet to his girl once he fell. The thing that stands out about him isn't exactly the eye candy (which is nice). It was watching him play a total goofball after his mind bending turn as a sociopath in "A Man's Story" ~ Two utterly different characters and I recommend you check him out in that drama.

The music wasn't anything I was clamoring for outside of the show. Unlike some other dramas I've watched, I am not actively seeking songs to add to my playlist.

The rewatch value is a 3. I probably won't watch this again but I truly did enjoy watching the first time.

This is not a perfect drama. But it is a cute one. I would recommend this for a drama slump, a rainy day or as great filler when you have too many heavy dramas on your watching plate.

lets just start by recognizing this freaking handsome man (kim kang woo)
i could just stare all day. ok back to the show. the acting was just ok i love go so ra coz i first saw her in i need romance and she was so cute. i dont mind the busan accent. for bok ja/yoom tae hee, they say u can take the woman out of the streets but u cant take the streets out of the woman, well this is exactly wot happened to her. for tae sang's wife, i loved her performance on 49 days coz of her big round eyes with really dark pupils, she just did ok in this show. the uncles were hilarious but the dad was just perfect. this 50 yr old man acting like a 6yr old was just awsome. anyway this is just one of those reg. dramas only theres a really really hot guy that u dont even care for the story

This drama was definitely not on my radar for the cast, as I didn’t even know who the main actors were. However, I always like to give new romcoms a try and the plot sounded like it might be different and a lot of fun…

Story: Originally the plot was suppose to be about a prosecutor who loses his memory after an accident and thinks he’s a gangster /really becomes a gangster and falls in love with a gangster’s daughter. However, the writers decided to change the story so while I was kind of disappointed they left the turning into a gangster part out, I was pretty pleased with the writing. It was funny and it had a plot. Was it original? No. Was it predictable? Yes, it’s a romcom. But the writers still kept me engaged all the way till the lovable ending.

Acting/Cast: This is where interest in the show itself was minimal. While Jo Yeo Jung and Kim Kang Woo had chemistry, I didn’t feel a connection to their characters. JYJ did a lot of overacting and it made her character annoying. I feel like anyone could have played the main male character. While KKW isn’t a bad actor, he just didn’t own his character. I did like the supporting cast and their characters more than the main. And although Nam Gyu Ri’s character was clingy, I felt sympathy for her character and liked her better than the female lead cause she’s just a better actress and has more screen presence than JYJ. And for the second male lead, I always like him in his dramas and this character was no exception.

Music: It was fun and matched the tone of the show

Rewatch: I didn’t love the main characters so theres not really a need for me to watch this again.

Overall the writing is entertaining but it could’ve been an amazing romcom with better casting. Worth watching once though if you love romcoms like me:)

This drama IS Light Fluff and very cliched, but Oh So Well Done … great chemistry between the Leads due to superb acting …the plot stays on a straight line with very little "fillers" (side stories, not relevant) … it is Not Pretentious = The whole drama was For Fun, and the writer(s), director and the whole cast knew it … and, had fun doing the drama. And, I had fun watching it.

A movie or drama should stay true to its genre … not every one has to be A Classic.

I debated on watching this drama as it had mixed reviews. Im glad I watched it as its a fun drama if nothing else.
It surely gives you a lot of laughs and cheers you up. Lots of endearing romantic moments with good chemistry between the leads.
Mind you a lot of cliches too, not something you cant endure. It had melodrama at times but not long enough to make you sad.
It starts of a bit slow with hardly any story, just a lot of lighthearted stuff and hilarious moments. Then it gets a bit slow, but after ep 10 the story boosts up, and you find your self addicted to it. You start liking the leads and getting annoyed by the baddies.
Certainly its not a perfect drama, but if you feel down, just pick this one up, it will definately cheer you up, but dont expect it to be perfect, take it lightly and you will enjoy it.

This review may contain spoilers
one of the best old dramas
i thought at the beginning it's going to be shallow with lots of cliches
but in the contrary it was really cute with pure passion which touches ur heart alot
strong plot but also has its flaws
but in general a must watch gem

SPOILER

i got bothered so much some times from Go So Ra reaction towards Yook Tam Hee evilness many time
it was so weak and she accepted humiliation many times without any reason

also i used to hate Choi Joon Hyuk at the beginning so much but at the end he was really a good gentleman
whom i cant forgive them was Yoon Se Na attitude this is really wasn't love at all she was like the leach she bothered me many times till i was going to break the screen
and lee tae seong 's father bothered me much i was pulling my hair >_<

one of the flaws was i didn't see any punishment for go so ra EX at all
and what Lee Tae Seong decided towards his family specially his father after what he did
and go so ra family didn't buy their restaurant at the end ???
and where is the real punishment for Kim Hye Eun which she deserved a lot
i was waiting the whole drama for it and i got really frustrated and angry so much >_<
