This story is supposedly based on a true story and can I just say this is a complete tear jerker. My friends kept pushing me into watching this and even though it's sad, I am so glad I decided to watch it.
This movie is just an amazing story about ones first love. It teases you with so much happiness and then just stabs you in the heart with sadness. I think it hurts a little more inside when you realize this based off true events.
I loved the cast. I really liked Miura and Yui together. There were those awkward acting scenes but I've grown used to them after watching so many dramas. But their chemistry was pretty good. I liked the supporting cast as well. Their characters were shown just enough and all blended well together.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone and if you are still iffy about watching this, just watch it..with a box of tissues of course

The story overall was beautiful and touching... I laughed and cried along with the characters. Be prepared though, if you are going to watch this movie, have a box of tissues by your side because you will cry your eyes out. Anyone who hasn't watched Koizora should; it expresses the feelings of absolute happiness and pain.

I didn't mind the white hair after - now that I think of it, it was probably some sort of representation of something deeper. The story was amazing, slow at first, but then picks up soon after. I'd recommend it to viewers in their late teens or 20s since (as mentioned in the synopsis) it has sexual themes and rape - which was tastefully portrayed. Its very centred around the two main characters and their love for each other.
The acting was great, I have so much respect for the two and their chemistry was well established, not to mention they are both so gorgeous!
The music irked me a bit, I thought the orchestra was a bit cheesy and typical for a drama. Crescendos at the typical places, excessive use of strings...it doesn't matter though - you probably won't notice it.
Its a movie that can touch everyone's hearts and a character whose experiences that many can relate to, especially if you've had the privilege of having a first love. Though, I will probably recommend it to female viewers as I feel that the movie was obviously portrayed to cater to that audience (or people with feelings lol). Those who hate showing emotions - I warn you not to watch it in public. Or just lock your door.

Acting/Cast: I though that the acting was simply amazing, the way the characters seemed to come to life and make you feel the same pain that they did. Couldn't have asked for better leads in the movie.
Music: Nothing too special, became dramatic in the intense/sad scenes and helped to add effect.
Rewatch Value: Though I know the outcome of the story, I will probably take the time to watch again. It was such a touching movie that stayed with me long past the end of it.
Overall: LOVED THE MOVIE!!! But would only recommend it to someone who enjoys sad movies, or is prepared to cry beforehand. Hope this helped!!

The way the story is told kept me going from one emotion to the next...what a roller-coaster! Every little thing that happens keeps you guessing until the end, even though, deep down, you know what is going to happen all along.
Won't even bother watching the series. This is definitely a movie I plan to watch again.

For the movie, it felt extremely rushed. They tried too hard to cram everything they possible could into 2 hours and it just wasn't enough time. Although it was rushed, it also felt really slow at the same time and I almost fell asleep watching it.
The actors didn't do a very good job at all...they just weren't into their roles like they should have been. It's a tragedy, and they just didn't really make it out to be as emotional as it should be. It felt to me like there was hardly any dialogue throughout the movie, so they made it impossible for you to get emotionally attached to the characters and the situations they went through.
If you are interested in the story of Koizora, then I would stay away from this movie and go watch the 6 episodes of the drama because it was 100 times better than this movie. That's probably why they did a remake of it, because they realized how badly they messed it up.
I'm sorry Miura Haruma, but you just were not able to capture my heart in this like I had hoped. :(

but i thought of giving it a try once i exhausted my drama list.
and boy am i glad i did.
this movie had me crying like a baby by the end of it. although the plot is very overboard-unreal-dramatic (i mean how can a relationship go so absurdly wrong? how can all the bad tragic stuff happen to one cute innocent harmless couple?), this movie had it all-romance, (initial)cutesy-comic scenes (they're very hard to find later on), beautiful, admirable love of the purest kind. and tragedy. alot of tragedy.
this movie is probably not for practical people or people who look for logic in the stuff they're watching. but if you're looking for melodrama, romance, dreams and inspiration, then this movie is a must-watch. :)

This movie is defiantly different from others I've scene and even though the music was pretty cliche for a drama movie, the casting was great the story was sad (if you're emotional like me you will cry). The one thing about this movie though is that it left me wanting more. Even though I really liked the ending, for me it's just missing something, which makes me constantly re-watch this movie and constantly think about it. However at least in my opinion, that's what makes a good movie. When it has you constantly thinking even long after you've watched it.
Koizora is sad, cute, and sweet. It is certainly aimed at girls, probably for high-school/college students, but I feel like anyone who just wants to watch a sweet love story and is in the mood for something a bit sadder then usual would really enjoy this movie.

The movie is truly an emotional roller coaster that will have you smile one moment, want to scream at the screen the next and finally get the grip of everything that happened to lead to that key moment when you understand the true meaning of love.
I loved Haruma Miura as Hiro. He's an amazing actor and what he did in Koizora was take his acting skills to an entire different level as he embodied the soul and the energy of the character he performed. I loved the photography, the scenery so much I would have visited the filming location had it been closer to Tokyo. One day I still hope to visit it!
It is my favorite Asian movie of all time and one whose story I carry deep in my heart!

I really thought Koizora would pick me up, but totally the opposite. At one point it really looked like happiness was on the horizon but that was short lived. I could not even feel sorry for Mika by the end for some reason :(

It really hurts just thinking that this movie is based on a true story. It was full of happiness and then suddenly it started becoming more and more painful.
I still think that it felt too rushed. I wanted to see more of their love story and I found it hard to connect with the characters. I was very interested in Hiroki but I didn't get the chance to understand him better. Maybe I'll give a chance to the drama adaption, the plot might be more developed in it. And Mika was too nice to be true. But her character was soooo relatable.
I loved the acting! And I am totally in love with Miura Haruma! This guy is so good-looking and from what I saw in this movie he is a good actor too. Aragaki Yui also did a great job at portraying Mika.
Overall, this movie was very heart-breaking but it's worth watching.
