I really enjoyed the 2008 drama of Koizora so I thought I would give the movie a shot and see how it compares, especially since it had one of my favorite Japanese actors, Miura Haruma in it, but as it turns out I was really disappointed. For the movie, it felt extremely rushed. They tried too hard to cram everything they possible could into 2 hours and it just wasn't enough time. Although it was rushed, it also felt really slow at the same time and I almost fell asleep watching it. The actors didn't do a very good job at all...they just weren't into their roles like they should have been. It's a tragedy, and they just didn't really make it out to be as emotional as it should be. It felt to me like there was hardly any dialogue throughout the movie, so they made it impossible for you to get emotionally attached to the characters and the situations they went through. If you are interested in the story of Koizora, then I would stay away from this movie and go watch the 6 episodes of the drama because it was 100 times better than this movie. That's probably why they did a remake of it, because they realized how badly they messed it up. I'm sorry Miura Haruma, but you just were not able to capture my heart in this like I had hoped. :(
