I was really interested in this series after seeing the plot, but it ended up being quite disappointing. The relationships weren’t explored as deeply as I’d hoped. The plot suggested that the protagonists would struggle to understand whether their feelings were genuine or influenced by their bond, but that aspect got a little lost in the series, which disappointed me. Still, I looked forward to every episode, so maybe binge-watching it would’ve bored me even more tbh. I really liked “My Stubborn” (despite all the criticism), and I was hoping to see Oat and Boat again in a more complex relationship.

KNOT – When Great Chemistry Isn’t Enough

KNOT unfortunately did not impress me as much as I had hoped, especially after all the promotion and expectations surrounding this new, hot BL. The main couple had chemistry, and above all, Boat once again convinced me that he is a very good actor and a naturally masculine man. However, his character Phatsa really annoyed me at times, especially in the moments when he did not know what to say to Nakhun, just pursed and twisted his lips, and failed to express his emotions convincingly.

The plot itself was not particularly strong for me. Essentially, it was mostly about uncovering the fathers’ past and finding out which of them was responsible for the collapse of the business and who was actually the bad one. I felt that the story had more potential than it ultimately used, and much of the focus therefore remained on the relationship and intimate side of the story.

Sangnuea caught my attention as a hot and seductive omega, and the actor handled this side of the role very well. In the more emotional scenes, however, he did not convince me nearly as much, and his explanation of his motives during the confrontation in the bar felt rather forced. I was also bothered by some visual details, for example Nakhun’s hairstyle with those three prominent curls, which looked somewhat untidy.

My biggest problem, however, was with the action scenes. Thai productions, in my opinion, still often struggle to make armed confrontations feel logical and believable. There is a scene where Nakhun and his companions are confronted by six armed men who do not shoot at all while chasing them. Then Nakhun is left alone against all six, and later Phatsa joins him, and somehow the two of them manage to handle the entire situation. It felt more like a fairy tale than believable action. I have already noticed similar illogical moments in other Thai BL dramas as well.

For me, KNOT was therefore mainly carried by the great chemistry and by Boat. He held the series together very well. Story-wise, however, I was left rather underwhelmed. Considering how high the expectations surrounding it were, I expected more.

Too much pouting...

This was good enough to enjoy, but there were several things that bothered me.
Episodes 8-9-10 were a anti climax, they were executed so bad. And almost the whole episode 10 was in the in the middle of nowhere, even though we got a NC scene, that whole episode was very boring.
Phatsa heals extremely quick, but the bite mark kept being red after a long time.
The music wasn't very good. I don't understand why they chose to do English songs. It sounded like they were written and sang by Thai people who aren't fluent in English.

Boat and Oat can act, and they know how to deliver good kissing and NC scenes. But i am really getting annoyed by the constant pouting of Oat, he can make a good pouty face, but this was just too much!!
The parents were good actors, but most of the other actors need to take some more acting lessons.

So not a bad watch, but be prepared to have several issues with this drama.

And i have the feeling there will be a special episode.

ABO starter

It's a good starter for omegaverse world in live series, the complexity of abo world is simplified, but as someonw who red countless of abo novels, it's has no depth (oraybe we will wait and see).
My main critics here will be the acting. The main characters are acceptable, but overall casts, are just too awkward that it sometimes distracting watching the series.
Still I'm looking forward to this every week, as I enjoy watching it.

Ep. 5 edit - getting frustrated with the pacing, and acting. And the camera works. Too distracting. This is like done by a new Begginer production.

Ep 7 edit - sorry can't take it anymore I have to drop it. Ep. 6 got improvements, I thought at least it can flourish from there but no. The story is like a pristine paper crumpled. Have good anticipation, but wrong execution. I can't even comprehend why is why one is angry or what not. Most of all is the acting. This is thr most reason I drop it. Like, is it even an official series? Extras are worsts too. I can't take it anymore. There are acceptable and some good actors/actress here. I'm not generalizing the whole cast. But with a mess of scripts + bad acting, sorry it's a disaster for me.

Loving every Minute

Now that i've finished the series i want to give it a proper review. I'll be fully honest that i expected a heck of a lot from this series, even though everything i wanted is here, it just needed to be 24 episodes long to give each element of the story the breathing room it needed. I watched the series each week and struggled with the pacing, i did a full rewatch for the final so i could see if this improved as a binge watch and it does so if you are watching i recommend not waiting between episodes.

The script for this makes me wish i spoke Thai as it had the foundation, but became repetitive, for Nakhin and Ongsa for example, they have a really sweet relationship, but every scene has to include Nakhin saying he doesn't care about secondary gender, he just loves Ongsa, and Ongsa saying he isn't good enough to be with an alpha. Its a beautiful message and the first time they had this conversation was really sweet, but it isn't needed every scene. I actually think their relationship was the most wasted potential, it went from a forced kiss, a lets forget it happened moment, to i can't live without you. I wish we'd had a series just for them to actually see the relationship evolve properly.

For Naphitch and Sangnuea, this had a better evolution, and i was really invested in their relationship, but the 'evil' Sangnuea scene was just really over the top and felt forced. I liked the story as a whole for them, and enjoyed the scene at the party in last episode, although i did want to smack Nahitch a little for being insensitive, i would love a flash forward for this couple, or a spin off to see how they grow.

Now my favourite, Nakhun and Phatsa. I am a major Boat and Oat fan, i love their chemistry together both on and off screen, and no i'm not here pretending they are married in real life, i think they just work brilliantly together and hope they find happiness as they've had it rough. Anyway, their story, loved the growth, from Nakhun commenting how if it weren't for the bond they wouldn't have met and being a complete idiot about Phatsa's feelings, to the final of 'your my everything bond or not' is perfect. I know the characters have great intimate scenes, but i'll be honest, i think some of these were just thrown in as fan service, which again we didn't have enough run time for this. I'm not a girl who says no to these scenes, but please use them to progress the story, to grow the characters, not to draw an audience!

That is something i noticed a lot in this show. There are a lot of long drawn out scenes that feel like they are done just for cinematography rather then impact, they feel like the aim is 'look how pretty this place/these people are' rather then actually carrying the weight they should have and progressing the story, it feels like wasted run time for a series that had a lot to pack in, this is not good editing or good direction.

This could definitely use a special episode or second season. I will watch anything omegaverse, and anything Boat and Oat, they're my biggest weaknesses, so throw them into a show together and its magic.

I might seem pretty critical for the high rating i've given the show, but the actors were great, i do think some of the scenes could have been better but a lot of these feels like poor direction, and the editing let them down a lot as well. The script is patchy, the groundwork is there and they've done a good job with story, but i wonder if they had to make a lot of edits and redrafting as it felt like this.

Also what the heck was the point of the female CEO, i'm all for empowerment of woman but her 'Beta's can be powerful to' story would have actually worked better to just have Ongsa feel more empowered. Nothing against the acting, but what was the point!

For side characters though, i loved the bodyguards and the housekeeper, Ai is adorable and i love that he has a 'potential' partner of his own, although wish we'd seen Sila in the last episode as well.

Watch this show! It is very good and i have rewatched multiple times through its run. I hope its a sign of more omegaverse coming our way!

My only regret is watching this as its come out as i hate waiting weeks between episodes, but i love it so far, i re-watch 2-3 times all the way through between episodes, acting is on point, yes a little over the top but i think that highlights how out of control this world can be. The chemistry, the story, the build up, just everything about this show is hitting the mark for me and i can't wait for more.

If i had a negative, it would be the lady, Amitra? But i think she'll grow on me as her story builds, hoping she hasn't been brought in just for a GL tickbox, but time will tell, enjoyed her intro scene, just unsure on how she fits currently.

For those giving a low rating, i'm very confused, if i ever felt strongly enough about a show to rate it low i would always wait for it to be complete before i do as shows need room to grow, and this is growing into an epic!

Update as now on episode 5, and still obsessed, some good character development, great relationships forming, not just couples but between Phatsa and Napitch is really interesting. Also the preview for next week is just too much, how can we fast forward to this time next week, or just 15th September when i can re-watch it all the way through!

FIRE OMEGAVERSE MORE PLEASE!!!

All shade, some of these comments are giving HATER 😭 because I genuinely really enjoyed *Knot*. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. The pacing, especially toward the end, is probably my biggest issue with the series, and I honestly think this story should’ve been spread across two seasons. There were way too many characters and storylines fighting for attention when the main couple alone had enough going on to carry an entire season. But despite those issues, the chemistry, acting, characters, soft moments, music, and overall production really made this series for me.

Starting with Nakhun and Phatsa because THAT is where the show had me. I loved their relationship, especially watching Nakhun realize that biting and marking Phatsa was a mistake and actually taking responsibility for what he did. Obviously, he basically forced Phatsa into this entire situation by marking him in the first place, so I appreciated that the story didn’t suddenly have Phatsa lose all of his independence afterward. Nakhun was surprisingly patient with him, listened to what he wanted, and allowed Phatsa to continue being his own person.

And THANK GOD they let Phatsa WORK 😭. He was still a boss, still involved with the company, still making decisions, and still doing what HE wanted with his life. Phatsa did not suddenly become helpless just because he was an omega or because he was marked by an alpha. That’s probably one of my favorite things about his character.

Phatsa stood on BUSINESS the entire series. He did not take BS from anybody, and I think that’s what made him feel so different from a lot of the omega protagonists I’ve seen in Omegaverse stories. He could be vulnerable without suddenly losing his backbone. He knew when to speak up, when to put somebody in their place, and when something wasn’t right. Oat and Boat were honestly perfect for these roles too. Their chemistry sold so many of the quieter moments between Nakhun and Phatsa, and I genuinely believed their relationship.

Now… Nakhin and Ongsa.

AHHHHHHH 😭 I’m sorry, but I wish they had stayed background characters IN THE BACKGROUND. Every time we left Nakhun and Phatsa and switched over to them I was ready to hit skip. Boom boom, no storyline, nobody cares, NEXT! 😭 Their acting together was okay, and I don’t necessarily dislike either character, but their storyline felt like something the show simply did not have enough time for.

And Ongsa BABY… please stand UP. 😭 Every time we got another variation of “But I’m a beta 🥺 there’s no way this big strong pure alpha could actually love ME…” I was like ONGSA BE QUIET. YOU ARE SO TEA. WHY WOULDN’T HE??? 😭

I actually think their relationship could’ve worked much better if the writers had either saved it for season two OR established that they already had some kind of relationship before the series started. Make them friends who clearly have feelings for each other, make them secretly dating, SOMETHING. That way we wouldn’t have needed to spend so much of season one establishing the who, what, when, where, and why of another relationship while the main storyline was already fighting for screen time.

AND MY MANNNN NAPHITCH!!! 😭 He is so cute. Naphitch and Sangnuea are both very tea, and I actually enjoyed having them around, but AGAIN—this could’ve been season two material! There was enough there to expand on later instead of trying to squeeze another storyline into an already packed season.

I will say, though, I did NOT like Naphitch marking Sangnuea. That decision didn’t really make sense to me, and I don’t think the story did enough to make me understand why it needed to happen.

But one thing I absolutely LOVED was Phatsa putting Naphitch in his place and basically turning him into less of a delinquent 😭. Phatsa walked into that house, looked around, and basically said, “Ain’t no way this how y’all living.” AND THEN GOT THAT HOUSE IN ORDER. That’s exactly what I mean when I say Phatsa stood on business. He wasn’t just strong when dealing with Nakhun; that was genuinely his personality.

Their mother was also an angel sent directly from heaven. I loved her.

The father, on the other hand… 😭

That entire “I NEED TO FIND THE PURE OMEGA 😡 I MUST BECOME THE HOKAGE” head-ahh storyline had all that buildup just for it to end the way it did??? THAT was probably one of my biggest disappointments. There was actually so much potential there! The obsession with finding a pure omega, the family conflict, the implications for Phatsa and everyone else—it could’ve been a genuinely interesting overarching threat.

And once again, that would’ve been PERFECT SEASON TWO MATERIAL.

That’s really my biggest criticism of *Knot*: I don’t think most of these ideas were necessarily bad ideas. I think they were ideas being told at the wrong time. Season one could’ve focused primarily on Nakhun and Phatsa, their marking, the consequences of it, Phatsa maintaining his independence, their relationship developing, and the family dynamics surrounding them. Then season two could’ve expanded Nakhin and Ongsa, Naphitch and Sangnuea, and especially the father/pure omega storyline. Suddenly, all of these side characters would’ve had room to breathe instead of competing with each other for screen time.

That’s also why I don’t really agree with judging the ENTIRE show by how messy the last four episodes became. I completely understand being frustrated with the ending because I had problems with it too. But those four episodes don’t erase everything I enjoyed before them.

Overall, I really did enjoy *Knot*. I loved the characters, I loved the acting, I loved the chemistry between Oat and Boat, and Phatsa is easily one of my favorite Omegaverse MCs because they actually let that man have a BACKBONE. 😭 The series had the ingredients; I just wish the writers had been smarter about pacing them out instead of trying to serve the appetizer, entrée, dessert, and next week’s dinner all on the same plate.

Messy pacing and all, *Knot* is still one of my favorite BLs and, in my opinion, one of the best I’ve watched. I just desperately wish somebody in that writers’ room had stood up and said, “Baby… we can save some of this for season two.” 😭

Boats and Oat?... What can I say?

Since the moment Boat and Oat became BL actors and were paired together... I just don't have words 😮! I am pretty speechless, but I will try to think of words to say about these two, so here goes....

First of all, in the two TV series I've seen them act in. All I ever see from them is sexual; especially from Boat. He does not seem to accept roles that would showcase his sensuality and not just his sexuality and Knot is no different. Each TV series I've seen him in, he's just a horndog. And what makes it even worse, is people tend to compare him with Boss when there is no comparison! Boss has more sensuality when he's acting in NC scenes versus Boat who demonstrates more beastiality in his NC scenes and the fact that in each TV series he has been in so far, he can't seem to keep it in his pants. I love Omegaverse series, but I do not think that Boat and Oat should have been picked for this Knot series. I probably would feel differently if Boss and Nouel had of been picked instead for this series.

And I get it, they're still fairly new at acting, but I really want to see a series where he is more sensual with his NC scenes versus beastial with his NC scenes. Boat displays a horndog every single time and it's getting redundant. Knot could have been a better series and I'm going to finish watching it, and I may redo this review once I finish the series, but as of right now, disappointing to say the least 🙄.

ANIMALISTIC DISASTER

The first 2 episodes nothing more than NCs with pretty visuals. But eventually it gets better in episode 3 and you can see a potential plot in all of this mess.

They finally discovered the ability of communication and not only sniffing each other like dogs. Yes, I do get that this is omegaverse, but still this kind of intimate acts could be performed with much more gentleness and grace. I can't stand to watch these scenes at all. All of them look clumsy and unnecessary. If you skip them all nothing much changes..

Ok, joking, everything's not really that bad.

~ I really love how Oat (Phasta) portrays emotions maybe not flawless but still better than half of the cast .

~ Boat ( Nakhun) seems a little bit stiff sometimes while performing, but still doing good job. He remindes me of Lee Do (from kpop group oneus) sometimes.
I don't like the stylist's job here. He has nice constitution but why do they hide them in all this feminine clothing? Even if the novel requires it still this could be done much better then curling his hair and wearing a blouse.

All of the supporting characters feel so blank to me. I don't know if the development gets better.

Overall, it is obvious that production is cheap, but they've done everything that was possible I guess. It has plenty of rooms for improving. But it is bad as it is now...
