Pacing is off

main point: Pacing is off and bad script but the actors tried their best with what they got.

I had so much hope for this. We rarely get omegaverse shows so when I saw boat and oat casted for this series I was excited. the best casting choice for a show with this topic. But three episodes in already and I’m disappointed. The pacing and plot is really awkward. I always watch shows half way through before dropping it so three more episodes to give it a fair judgement. On a positive note the actors are giving their all to deliver the story. I did like the vulnerability between phasta and nakhun.

Interesting beginning and falling of a cliff as usual

I have several problems with the story line: The main couple was fine for the most part, except when it culminated in ep 10. The second couple had sex in ep 3 which is against Ongsas nature and it felt so wrong. They could have been a good contrast to Nakhun/Phatsa, but fanservice was more important or so. And then we have the 3rd couple which was not a couple till episode 10 but their story is not told to the end - because Mr. Run had no ideas or so.

So this feels like a half series with a lot of threads still open, so maybe they did that because they want to do a Season 2. I can only speculate but the story is just half. The aspect of the Omegaverse was well done for the main couple. But the story feels incomplete especially after Phatsa turned to be a murderer. They could have dealt with it in a normal way, but it had to be dramatic and a final solution to wrap up that storyline in a fast manner.

Of course we have a typical revenge arc where two baddies would like to frame one of brothers who is a bit naive and the families black sheep. But even when he is naive he is an alpha and resorts to a solution which bonds one of the baddies to him. But sadly we did not see how their relationship develops after that. They only have one scene in the final and nothing else. The actor who plays the revenge driven Omega "Sangnuea" is the only one who leaves a mark with his performance.

So overall they ruined the series for me in ep 3 and then it got worse. It got boring and predictable and the revenge arc did not help either. The only highlight is Folk as "Sangnuea" who delivered excactly what his role demanded. While the production quality was polished, it could not save the series. At least I will not visit it ever again and you are better off skipping it.

This series is everything i didn't want.

I didn't have high expectations for the series (and the novel).
Since it's Omegaverse, I would have been grateful for just the "bare minimum" a simple, cliché story would have been fine but no, there isn't really a story here at all. Absolutely nothing happens. The serie explains the mechanics of the Omegaverse, but it lacks a plot, it essentially a story of their days at home or at the café.

Nakhun is a character who doesn't change; in fact, he is getting worse with every episode. He doesn't apologize for what he’s done, nor does he care about Phatsa; he just works, eats, gives orders, spends money on him, and repeats the routine the next day. He wants a baby, yet he barely has a relationship with Phatsa. Phatsa is angry, but he doesn't ask him why or how he can help; instead, he gives him a few affectionate strokes and tells him to come home with him. He does absolutely nothing to try to get to know Phatsa better! his tastes, his hobbies, his friends, or his family... absolutely nothing. He bit him and takes responsibility only for that; he does nothing beyond that, and if he does act, it is solely due to the effects the bite has on both him and Phatsa. Sure, he is affectionate and seems to care about him, but he does absolutely nothing to show it. He is a shallow, one-dimensional character.

Phatsa is completely irresponsible; that might have been okay at the start, but as the story progresses, he just lets things slide, and it makes less and less sense. Everyone tells him what to do, but never why, and he accepts it all without thinking too much about it. The only points in his favor are his initiative: he gets bitten and goes to live with Nakhun; he is unable to work so he agrees to help out around the house, he wants to see his friends but is forced to return home early. He's trying but with all the other characters that stand in his way, there isn't much he can actually decide to do.

The rest of the family is just flat characters lacking depth; they are poorly written characters who show no growth or initiative.

The only "plot elements" in this story involve the father trying to figure out who the pure omega is, and the attacks on the family, yet even these aren't explored properly.

It’s true that i didn't have high expectations, but this doesn't even meet the bare minimum.

"...THAT'S IT?!"

I genuinely cannot get over how badly *The Knot* disappointed me. This was probably my MOST anticipated BL of 2026, and I went into it ridiculously excited because we were FINALLY getting a live-action Omegaverse series. And not only Omegaverse, but with Boat and Oat, two actors I already love. This should have been a freaking goldmine.

Instead, I finished it wanting to sit in a corner, cry, kick my feet, and throw a full-blown tantrum over how much potential they completely wasted. 😂😭

Because HOW do you have the entire Omegaverse at your disposal and somehow manage to do almost nothing interesting with it?

This was their opportunity to actually show viewers what makes an Alpha an ALPHA. The instincts. The possessiveness. The territorial behavior. The protectiveness over their Omega. The social hierarchy, biological differences, and all the complicated ways those instincts can clash with actual human emotions and love.


There was SO MUCH they could have done with this world, and instead the story felt like it had almost no real plot or development. I kept waiting for it to finally dig deeper into the Omegaverse elements and give us the story I thought they were building toward, and it just... never happened.

And don't even get me started on the pregnancy.

One of the biggest things people were excited and curious about was finally seeing an Omega pregnancy portrayed in a live-action Omegaverse BL. They had an opportunity to explore something we've basically never gotten to see properly on screen: a male Omega actually going through pregnancy.

His changing body. A growing belly. The Alpha becoming even more protective and territorial. Nesting. Preparing for the baby. The emotional and physical experience of carrying their child. Hell, even just seeing what pregnancy and childbirth LOOK like within the rules of this universe.

Instead, they wait until practically the LAST FIVE MINUTES to reveal that he's pregnant.

And then... THAT'S IT?!

No growing belly. No pregnancy journey. No birth. No baby. No payoff for something the story and the entire concept had made viewers excited to see.

You cannot hand me OMEGAVERSE, tease me with an Omega pregnancy, finally make him pregnant when the series is basically over, and then roll the damn credits. 😭😂 WHERE IS MY OMEGAVERSE BABY?!

I honestly cannot wrap my mind around how a series with this much potential managed to flop this badly. That's what makes me so angry. If the premise had sucked from the beginning, fine. I'd shrug, give it a bad rating, and move on.

But the premise DIDN'T suck.

The potential was enormous.

The actors were there.

The Omegaverse world was there.

The possibilities were practically endless.

There was an incredible series buried somewhere inside *The Knot*, and THAT is the series I desperately wanted to watch.

Instead, I got one of the biggest disappointments I've had watching a BL. This wasn't just a bad series to me; it was a massive waste of an opportunity to finally give us a genuinely good live-action Omegaverse adaptation.

I wanted to love this SO badly.

Now I just want to wipe it from my freaking memory and pretend the Omegaverse gods haven't betrayed me this severely. 😭🤦‍♀️

Same Team, Same Problems.

I’m at episode three, and will be giving them another episode or two. I figure that it will either be more of the same and I’ll drop it, like I should have with My Stubborn; or they’ll manage pull themselves up by their bootstraps, and make it worth persisting. There are stupid devices being used here, that make the writing look like sabotage. The direction is very inconsistent, to the point where Oat’s bad acting is screaming and waving its arms in one scene, then he’s being directed into almost naturalistic acting in the next. Even the absolutely stellar chemistry between the leads isn’t making itself heard over the cringe-factor. I’m not optimistic.

Edit: I’ve dropped this series after one more episode. It took me ages to get through the episodes I watched, because there was nothing drawing me back. The whole thing is just sub-standard. If I didn’t admire Boat I would have dropped it after one episode. The lighting, hair, makeup, and editing are the least of its sins. The writing, directing, and casting are the major let-downs. At least MS had some decent casting. Knot is just bad.

Unfortunately Knot did not knot well

What a snoozefest!

•Storyline: Existent-ly non-existent. But the Omegaverse part was handled very well, like practically and theoretically approved!

•Acting: BoatOat's acting was very convincing as True Alpha and Pure Omega. Especially Oat as Phatsa, a newly discovered Omega was brilliantly done! His conflicted emotions were portrayed very well. I found his performance extraordinary. But overall, everyone's acting was not bad, also not good either.

•Pacing: THE MOST PROBLEMATIC PART of this drama. It was all over the place and inconsistent.

•Cinematography: If you have watched My Stubborn, you can definitely tell that MFlow got more funds to produce this than My Stubborn. Their cinematography, lighting and filters made the scenes look pretty but what to do if the storyline is lacking in itself.

•Music: okay, okay, I'll be a little biased towards Boat's voice because that OST, "Bonding" was beautifully sang. It was melodious and soulful. Also as an avid listener of ambient music I found the background music really calming.

Overall, it was really disappointing to me as I only watched and finished it because of my love for BoatOat and sometimes it was REALLY painful to go through the whole episode because it felt like a chore. My Stubborn was watchable and enjoyable but this was outright boring. I hope they select scripts wisely from the next time. Because, sorry BoatOat, your sizzling chemistry and dedicated presence was not enough.

P. S: Watching this made me question my life choices. I didn't want to drop it because of BoatOat and my sheer curiosity. And yet I found myself asking every Tuesday, "What the hell am I doing with my life?"

It started off good

There are little things i want to critique but besides that i loved it. I don't understand how Oats character seems to be the only one (so far at least) unaware about this whole omegaverse happening. Maybe there'll be a reason given at some point but right now i just can't make it make sense. Along with the fact that his secondary gender never affected him until he heard about it.. it was just one of those "wow what a coincidence" moments for me. The editing could also be a bit better. When Boats character and his brother are in the car while the others are fighting, it was a bit too obvious they played the same short fight clip when showing it through the car. I did have a complaint about the terrible translations and fortunately they're fixed now:)! Excited for the next episode.


The complaints on ep 2- I wanna applaud boatoat for their acting. I can definitely understand how the "NC" scene was awkward or weird for some people but as someone who has been reading/watching about the omegaverse for a long time, their execution was perfect. Obviously it's gonna aggressive when they're literally supposed to be animals in heat/rut.

UPDATE AFTER FINAL EP - Literally just forget everything i said honestly 😭 first 3-4 eps were good (those i'll give like a 7-9 rating) but it fell off so much after that.. the finale is what really disappointed me when i expected so much more. Please do not waste your time watching this.

Waste of potencial

This series was such a waste of potencial but it fumbled halfway thought and never went back on track again. The main problem for me was that it was all very surfface level. The only characters who had some glimpse of depth where Phatsa and Sangnuea. The rest of them felt like NPCs to me. I barely know anything about them. I know Nakhun is the older brother and an alpha, Napitch is an ilegitimate child and resents everyone for that, the father is evil and wants a pure omega for his son. The second couple had no chemistry and no build up: the only personality trait Nakhin has is being and alfa and liking Ongsa, and Ongsa is being a beta, liking Nakhin and having a coffee shop. And thats it. As for the third couple, they were biggest waste of potencial of all of them. The idea of having a forced bond with someone you abolutely despise, and navegating throught the outcomes of that, would have been so interesting to explore. I love flawd characters, and they could've give Sangnuea an actual character development (his resentment of being born an omega would've been an actual good thing to dive into), and maybe a redemption arc, if done correctly and with time. I love omegaverse stories, and i'm all for cringe shows, but you have to have some kind depth to make people care about the characters. BoatOat kept me going, because i actually love their chemistry, and they made the best with what it was given to them. Hope to see them in more shows anyways 🫶

I had fully intended to let this show go down in my watch history as my first completed 1 ☆ star rating. My very first voluntary, manic dive into the Stygian Pits. I was prepared to waltz right over the safety barriers, perform a solitary dance naked under the moonlight with deranged eyes, and shout “Wheeeee!” as I tunnel bombed my way straight into the earth's mantle.
However, my Faery brain demands rigorous categorization, so before I lock in a score I might regret four months from now, I am pulling out my Unnecessarily Extra-AF-ometer to calculate the exact structural density of this burning trash can.

Let me use my own brain against myself.

🤓 SECTION 1: STORY (50% Weight)

☆ Concept: Rating: 7/10 -
The foundational premise was fine, believe it or not. A fun, simple fantasy ride through Omegaverse dynamics where the laws of human imagination are at their most flexible, and logic goes to die because why bother with fantasy otherwise.

A feisty, super powered Super Omega accidentally gets bitten by a mafia heir Super Alpha under immense pressure to prove his Alpha-ness to his Daddy. The cosmic law? When a Super Alpha and Super Omega knot in the truest expression of love, a mythical Enigma can be conceived. Simple, high stakes, and inherently entertaining.

☆ Execution: Rating: 1/10
How on earth, they cocked this up so magnificently, is a mystery for forensic science.
It’s as if the production team scribbled the script on a grease stained McDonald's napkin at 3:00 AM on a drunken Saturday morning, declared it pure genius, and green lit it with a shrug.
- "It's Thailand's first Omegaverse! We just need two good looking men to stay on screen and stand around an expensive mansion waiting for their cues."
- Zero cognitive thought went into portraying the lore. It was purely a vehicle or a contractual hostage situation to keep BoatOat on camera, which is insulting to both the cast and the audience.

☆ Characters & Supporting Caricatures: Rating: 2/10
Our Indominus Rex, I mean Super Alpha, is permanently squeezed into suits two sizes too small to distract us from how criminally spineless and bland he is written. Boat has fabulous peaches though so, who cares? Meanwhile, our 'feisty Super Omega' is presented as a boy with zero emotional intelligence around the world he lives in and where he is placed in it, due to fatherly abandonment. Something I thought would be a given in Omegaverse but 😂 No. Not even a fake belief that he is a standard omega and can max out later on 'Worship Me Hormones'. No. The crows had a feast in that field of thought.
Yet somehow, despite not knowing basic Omegaverse mechanics and acting coy around his own dad, he randomly launches into moral tirades against his in-laws. Stunning character development. 🤦‍♂️

• The 2nd Couple: Love who you want, I suppose. Very much a side note and a sex scene.
• The 3rd Couple: A complete after thought used to hand wave a villain, setting up the company’s next project without explaining a single plot point.
• Alpha’s Parents: Mum is a classic Disney mother (I wished her a Happy Divorce Day because someone in that house needed functioning cognitive abilities and she was the lucky chosen one. Good for her 👏). While Dad sits in his, I couldn't help but imagine, a fart smelling office, repeating a single line like a malfunctioning Kirby doll - "Where is that Omega child?!" 😫 doohh!!
• Omega’s Dad: Exists solely to provide a sad backstory that wasn't half as sweet as the writers thought, before abruptly switching to an overprotective, comedic anime dad despite having abandoned his son for most of his natural life.

I see Super Omega got his father's single brain cell because what do you mean by separating bonded mates? Won't that, you know, result in a little death, like your wife? *scratches head* 🪦


☆ Lore: Rating: 1/10
Quite possibly the funniest disaster of the show. They gave us a gorgeous 2D ink wash animation sequence explaining the ancient origins of the world... only to repeat those exact same rules over and over, and over again, as if the audience shares the Super Omega's brain capacity. Yet when the characters face actual, physical danger, do they use their supreme pheromone powers? No ... Absolutely not. That would require thinking 💀

Special mention for Super Alpha telling his father in law that he raw dogged his son unconcious and there's nothing he can do about it, with a straight, deadpan diplomatic face. He has money, so there ... 🥲 Congratulations PawPaw 🥳

☆ Actors: Rating: 1/10
As an Arts, Literature, and Theatre kid and now an 'unapologetic about it' adult, it physically pains me to say this: the performances were abysmal. The only visible acting effort was poured into the sex scenes, which is just depressing if that’s how they were directed, or felt what was expected of them in the absence of a director because I wouldn't be surprised if that was the reality.
Oat, who can act, looked stiff, exhausted and bored most of the time, and during emotional scenes, we were treated to the strangest attempts at 'psychological distress' I’ve ever witnessed, complete with drugged out eyes and shoulders moving so erratically they looked like they were trying to dislocate and detach off the actor's torso out of pure embarrassment. His own bones were trying to escape this project.

☆ Aesthetic: Rating: 2/10
The only thing that earned points here was Boat’s hair. Everything else looked like a biohazard. They spent their entire budget renting a single mansion (in which they filmed in every available square inch. Go on, get every cent spent guys ) and dumped the rest into a real world perfume campaign, that no one needed, surely? The wardrobe didn't fit, the styling was greasy, and who decided on the Lord Farquaad wig? Come here 🫡

Everyone looked like they desperately needed a hot shower and some loose cotton clothes ..... and a warm meal and a hug honestly.

☆ Production & Editing: Rating: 1/10
I was convinced the cinematographer was velcroed to the ceiling. One minute we were looking straight down from the rafters like a cute little spider, the next we were looking up an actor's left nostril like a shoelace, followed by an aggressive overuse of a fisheye lens that made me feel just as high as the crew clearly was. The editing had literal mid-scene jump cuts. A film student would be chewed tf out by their professor for handing this in.

☆ Audio: Rating: 2/10
The audio mixing was slightly more stable than the camera work, but a pity point is all I can spare. The opening theme song singer desperately needs vocal lessons. She sounds like she is in pain.

I enjoyed this show the exact same way one enjoys a poorly performed circus or a carnival trainwreck. It was awful, cheesy, and provided unmatched rage bait fodder for the weekly MDL comment section. It was the ultimate Tuesday night sanity breaker and I clapped like a seal, choking, every week without fail.

What was the point?

Literally, what was the point of all of this? Why make an omegaverse series when you're not committed to showing what it's actually about? Why give us this half-assed plot when there's literally SO MUCH you can do with a universe like this? I even like the main question this series is asking: Can real love grow between an alpha and omega, or is it just instinct and fate? But even when you're asking an interesting question like that, the rules of the universe don't just vanish.
And don't even get me started on the pacing. Why does it take three episodes with barely any progression to resolve such a non-interesting storyline? I don't care about Nakhun's family and what they did to Sangnua's. They didn't even show Sangnua's family except for his brother, not even in flashbacks. But it's also just not interesting in a series about the omegaverse. Give me storylines that have something interesting to do with the universe!
I can't believe ABO Desire was better than this. The writing in that one was bad as well, but at least they showed us some interesting things about the universe. This show doesn't do anything interesting. Not with the characters, not with the story, not with the cinematography, and not with the performances.
There are characters that barely show up in the series, like Amintra. I wanted to know and see more of Ongsa and his relationship with Nahkin. They were the couple I found most interesting. Why even pair up Naphitch and Sangnua when you don't do anything with it?
So much wasted potential. And I really try to make my reviews as fair and constructive as possible, but it's hard to do so when there's such little care thrown into this series. Still, I watched until the end, so that's at least something. When a series bores me too much, I don't hesitate to drop it. So, I guess some parts are kind of entertaining. But yeah, I don't recommend this one to anyone. And I hope there will be at least one good omegaverse adaptation.
