When you think it couldn’t get worse, it actually did

Where do I even begin with this review? What disappoints me is that Knot had the potential to be a great series, especially after seeing how high quality the pilot/trailer looked. Unfortunately the expectations I had for the series weren’t met in the slightest.

I feel like there are so many issues with the series like the pacing, the acting/dialogues, the characters themselves…

The pacing of the whole series was so off and oftentimes awkward. The scenes didn't flow into each other, making it look even stiffer and unnatural than it already was. And can we talk about the budget cut in locations and extras like?? it felt like we were only ever in 3 spots and miraculously nobody was ever seen in the background.

Let's talk about the dialogues and the characters. The dialogues were stiff, felt unnatural and their content was repetitive - it honestly felt like we were going nowhere with it, just going around in circles with the same issues that made the story feel stagnant. Not only the plot, the characters themselves didn't show much depth or character development, making them seem very 2 dimensional and making it difficult to form a connection/sympathy with any of them.

I feel bad for the actors because they can only do so much with the script and directions they are given. I just hope that their next series is gonna have a better script than the last 2 they got.

Not what we were promised

I really wanted to like this series. I was so excited and I waited so long for it to finally air. But it’s awful and now I’m sad. I’ll start by saying that I LOVE Boat and Oat. I love their energy as individuals, I love their chemistry together. I can’t help but smile any time I see them. And that makes this show even more of a disappointment. The writers and directors failed them horribly.
First of all, the plot just got lost somewhere. One entire episode was them preparing for a meeting and driving to it. That’s it, that’s all that happened. There’s something vaguely resembling a story line, but someone forgot to finish it.
The series has a few amazing actors, but they don’t have anything to work with. There is also some terrible acting. I’m not sure if this is the fault of the actors or if it’s the directing. The housekeeper is incompetent and keeps screeching. The father is one dimensional. The brothers show some promise but the directors never let it fully happen. I was looking forward to the steamy romance scenes (because I KNOW Boat and Oat can deliver). But they were cut short and made awkward. Scenes with other characters were similar. The creators relied too heavily on the pheromone display instead of letting the actors do their thing.
And so, I tried. I watched for as long as I could, just to see my favorite actors. 9 episodes is all I could take. I hope their next project provides a story that is more deserving of these talented young men. And I hope it happens soon. I hate to rate their show so poorly, but someone needs to hold the writers and directors accountable for this mess.

Decent for 1 of like 3 Omegaverse BL's we got

I wanna start off by saying we are all forgetting that this is based off of the NOVEL and the direction of the series is going by said novel. A lot of the critiques I have read are things that the originally writer put it. Was it weird that Phatsa knew nothing about the secondary genders? Of course it was, but it was written that way.

There are cringey moments, lets be real, but there are a LOT of cringey shit in the thai bl's I have watched, I always chalk it up to it being a culture thing.
I do agree that it could have been better, but we have almost zero omegaverse bl's to compare to. I will say the chinese one hit the ball out of the park with everything I wanted from an omegaverse series.
I enjoyed it, had the novel been written better then I believe they could have done better in the production.

I saw an argument that Nakhun doesnt change and I completely disagree, he went from insufferable to a big softie that knows he is not the boss at the end of the day no matter how much he tries to play one--Phatsa wears the pants of their relationship.
I think my BIGGEST complaint is I wanted to see more from Sangnuea and Naphitch--but I also haven't finished the novel yet so there might be more with them there.

Finally, I love Boat and Oat , I love seeing them on the screen and I look forward to their future projects! I love the two other couples as well, excited to see what they bring to the table next.

Not The Best, But Still Good!

This was okayyyyy to watch I enjoyed the first few episodes they gave me the same happiness as when I was reading omegaverse manhwas and manga. But the remaining episodes they were kind of so-so. Like the endings feels rushed. The way they were pressuring Phatsa to become pregnant and give and grandson. Just from them to not show their children's just saying he was pregnant like what kind of ending was that 😭💔 but it's a bit similar to ABO Desire obviously because they are both omegaverse series. But in this series they didn't show their children unlike in ABO Desire they showed their child and it was a wholesome moment 🥰❤️

"Knot" worth watching.

If ABO is your thing - this is bad.
If you like Boat/Oat as a pairing - this is still bad.

I made it through 10 episodes before feeling so irritated by Knot that I had to come and actually leave a review.

I really wanted to like Knot, to give it a chance. As something different, it would be refreshing to have a little more variety in the BL genre. But unfortunately, what Knot delivered was...tepid, frivolous, and left me disappointed.

Boat and Oat have so little chemistry it's painful - not even the special effects adding in 'pheromones' to make it seem like they're burning up helped convince me the characters were remotely together. (This is incredible since those two have chemistry just joking around together, that the show managed to kill that is...mind boggling.) The side characters sometimes felt preachy or were over-acting to the point of cringe/bad camp.

Episode 10 had one character emoting all over the place physically with nothing showing in face or tone other than some makeup effects to redden high points.

I want to say more but I don't have anything constructive to say and I'm not going to dunk on Knot for trying something and not hitting the mark. I will dunk on it for being almost unwatchable thanks to the execution, direction, and script.

I'm sorry, cast and crew. I'm sorry, fans. I wanted to be able to praise this show.

as an omegaverse enjoyer, this show is straight dookie!!

bad acting, bad writing, bad pacing. Honestly, the only interesting thing is the abo concept but it’s hard to enjoy when it’s overshadowed by pure cringe and wooden actors.

I don’t know if I can keep watching this show, these 4 episodes have felt like a chore to get through. I was excited for live-action committed omegaverse but this is just not good :(

Episode 4 was a totally waste of time, Phasta being jealous over Nakhun having previous partners before him which was so stupid. then, Nakhun lying about being shot for literally no reason. Also this female Alpha (I think she is) randomly showing up and there’s been little to no info on who she is or her connection to any of these characters. Zero time spent on actually developing / build up to NakhinOngsa relationship, Nakhin just suddenly kissed him for no reason and is now into him ???

NC Galore over substance

Maybe I'm missing the point of every episode but it seems to me that the characters in this series have no real purpose. In every episode they either go to location A or location B to have lunch or coffee and pointless conversation. And then they insert location C every once in a while, like a bar (where the most interesting characters get 30 seconds of screentime) or the office of the grumpy father who seems to be the only one to have a proper desk in this house while everyone else is doomed to work in an anatomical nightmare -
the living room. With tiny tablets because the cars were so expensive they couldn't afford better technology. Also, lot's of dry humping. Sweet.

I was exited to see BoatOat again. "My Stubborn" was my guilty pleasure last year. "My Stubborn" had no real plot either but it showed the universal experience of being in a situation-ship with a fckboy who acts like your boyfriend but says he isn't. Men and women around the world can relate to that. But "Knot" should have a proper plot, right? I had high expectations in this co-production of M Flow and One31. So, what happened to the budget? The scene in episode 5 where Ongsa and Nakhin sit in the car looks cheaper than in the 80's. Everytime Phatsa holds a folder with company data and randomly finds huge meaningful information, I feel like I'm watching a high school theatre play- Who wrote this? Where is the plot? What is this all about? Do we not care? Because sometimes they do the pheromone thing and drop alpha and omega and NC NC NC?

Unfortunately the production team seems to think that as long as they deliver steamy scenes and ABO-lore, the viewers don't care about the lack of story building. The rating for "Knot" may be high but it's sets the bar excruciatingly low.

The actors are the least to blame here. Oat really looks sad when he cries but maybe he actually felt sad because I do too - when I watch "Knot".

Such a big disappointment

Nice start, turning into a disappointment after disappointment, slowly turning into a raging dumpster fire.

Things I liked:
1. I like that the main lead has some "character" to him, because people often portray omegas as somewhat childish, weak, etc.
2. Nakhin taking responsibility for his actions as well as acknowledging that what he did was wrong and apologizing to Ongsa.
3. Good chemistry.

Things I disliked:
1. Main character being clueless about omegaverse while living in it. I understand that he had been pretty shielded from it by his father, but it is really not an excuse.
2. Special effects.
3. Too many characters.
4. Nakhin kissing Ongsa while he was in distress, crying, and fighting was absolutely uncalled for, especially since that was their first time meeting.
5. Phatsa being extremely defensive any time someone calls him Nakhun's partner would genuinely get on my nerves.
6. Phatsa has incontinences in his judgment. In one episode he fights Naphitch and tells him he will serve his food to dogs, and in another episode he invites him to the table with a smile and gets upset when Nakhin and Nakhun aren't friendly with their brother.
7. Nakhun's father. Pretty self-explanatory.

number one show for weeks my ass !

thor could not come down and save this catastrophe. i should have dropped this and i was <> close.

i noticed that the critiques for this drama are some of the same sort of criticisms i have written on other BL reviews. in other words, there is a hate bandwagon going on for this title. be that as it may, this sh't is rightfully declared TRASSSSSSSSSSH. i am not going to waste my time with an in-depth review so this will be spoiler-free.

this is my first omegaverse anything and they straight butchered something that could have written itself ! holy sh't. i am shook at how terrible of a production this was. the execution was an absolute failure. i waited weeks, literally since its release, for this to complete to watch. this was almost as bad as bittersweet love. their only saving grace were the unnecessarily long intimate scenes between nakhun & phatsa. i even skipped through their last NSFW scene; i cannot say i have ever done that. those scenes make BL what it is and theirs were so inconsistent that they were apart of the disorder that was this chaotic nonsense.

my biggest gripe is something i have not seen a single person mention yet, the translations / subtitles. this BL has, more-or-less, confirmed to me that the industry is using AI to translate from thai to english. the english translations were almost illegible, in many scenes. they were either entirely illogical or partly nonsensical. if by some miracle AI is not being used then whichever companies / contractors are hired to translate the last several thai BL i have seen need to be blacklisted. transcriptioning is a serious profession that requires competency. it is unacceptable that users pay for streaming services and are provided with half-arsed or AI-sourced translations. this entire title was almost incomprehensible, to me. this issue is a scam on consumers.

they had an opportunity to go well into the universe, the significance of the terms, and the decisions made between alphas and omegas. they completely faltered and wasted resources on this nothing-burger ass story with empty babble, superficial relationships, inexcusable corruption, and unexplained omegaverse dynamics. the production was a comedy show. the entire thing was a cringefest ! the scenes were cut up noticeably. every scene was basically a timeskip [kill me]. phatsa called his friend by his bodyguard's name, how did that make it into final production? the breakaway scenes were out of place. the microphone[s] used were of inconsistent output quality notably. the viewers were robbed of the one thing talked about the most ! there are four good actors in this entire work and none of them are boat & oat. these observations are not even all of the things i noted. i am truly in disbelief that a show with this premise could be the worst thai BL i have seen to date.

What the h happened??

KNOT, this is going to be a long one. Honestly, I was super excited when they announced the first Thai BL with a real omegaverse setup. And this girl is a simp for omegaverse! 😂 I really enjoyed the first 7 episodes of KNOT, then came Ep 8 until the finale, and I really don’t know what the heck happened??
The omegaverse premise of the series was quite solid, at least in the beginning. Them showing pheromones, slick, heat, rut, bond, inferiority, superiority, mating, and many more. Name it. I love how they fully explained the ABO details. It helps everyone understand the world they’re trying to show, both those who have knowledge of omegaverse and those who don’t.
So for me, I didn’t really mind them explaining things. It also gave us an idea of an Enigma baby, how male pregnancy works, knotting, and of course, nesting.
Chemistry-wise, all three couples showed good chemistry. Story-wise, it was kind of interesting, though there was too much happening with the daddy issues on both sides, the beta woman, and then the main conflict. With all of that, I won’t complain much since I was much more seated for the omegaverse lore.
Now, back to why I started disliking the series. I know “dislike” is a big word, but sorry, it’s just how I really see it. From Episode 8 onwards, everything became so slow. They were explaining everything in detail, even things that weren’t part of the omegaverse concept. They were constantly discussing obvious things over and over again. Like how Nakhin loves Ongsa not just because he is a beta. These lines were repeated, I think, at least 4x throughout the series. How they realized it was all a setup? I guess discussing it at home wasn’t enough. They needed to rediscuss it in the office and then have another meeting in the café. 😂
Then there was the whole beta empowerment explanation, followed by another repetitive explanation of why SangNuea became a villain.
At this point, they should’ve just created a podcast if they were going to talk and talk. 😂
The only thing keeping me watching was the omegaverse premise, and clearly, that was missing in those last episodes. They’re all alphas, a true alpha actually, and there they were running from the goons. What happened to the superior pheromones of an alpha??
And the title is KNOT. I was expecting a special knotting scene, and there they are, knotted in a freaking car. LOL. 😭
And where is our Enigma baby?! We at least deserve to see the wedding of the new head of the family and their baby! But nothing. Are they planning a special episode? Oh god!! 😡
I swear this series has a LOT of potential. I just wish they had utilized the omegaverse concept more, especially toward the end.
And am I the only one who noticed the distorted video quality in the series, especially on the side parts of the screen? Or was it just me? 👀
