Queen of Talk Kris Aquino stars as a woman who finds a Bagua mirror, which brings death in its wake.
I am not a Horror person. I get scared easily. I think I watched like 10, maybe 20 shows that have horror as a genre in my entire life. I try my best to stay away from horror shows, but like once or twice per year, I'm in the mood for this genre, especially in October, and I make an effort to watch horror movies with my sister. She doesn't get scared. It's unfair.
Since I'm not interested in horror movies, I just picked them based on a combination of story, poster and rating. [Sidenote: You know what's scarier than horror movies? Not having your own laptop and not being able to watch Asian shows to your heart content. That's pure horror and torture.]
Based on true events and long-circulating urban legend in Taiwan. Wei is nowhere to be found one day, before his grandma returns from her own strange missing incident.
This was kinda creepy.
20 years ago, an inexplicable mass suicide occurred in the millionaire Yang household, where the entire clan was hanged to their deaths at the exact same hour, place, and height. Only one member survived. To this day, the case remains unsolved. 20 years later, a distant relative, James, inherits the Yang Mansion...
And you know what happens after that, right?
This one was rather intense for me. lolz
When a Taipei CEO freezes to death on one of the hottest days of the year, and a politician's mistress is burnt to death in a room with no trace of fire, FBI agent Kevin Richter, an expert in criminal profiling, is called in to team up with Huang Huo-Tu, a local cop who is ostracized by his colleagues after he exposed corruption on the force, to hunt down what may be a serial killer, a ghost, or something else.
This had a small dose of horror and a larger dose of mystery and suspense.
My conclusion: Horror movies have weird endings.
Aiming to harness the energy found in some supernatural spirits, scientist Hashimoto (Yosuke Eguchi) and colleagues catch the ghost of a young boy. Hashimoto plans to use the energy to fuel an anti-gravity device he has invented. But, in order to tap into the ghost's essence, he must understand the silent words coming from its mouth. The scientists call in police officer Tung (Chen Chang), who can read lips, but, as they learn that the boy was murdered, the experiment goes in a scary direction.
The story and concept were interesting and, luckily for me, not very scary. So if you are like me, you could give it a try.

The story follows two tomb raiders (Chen Kun & Huang Bo) as they try to undo a curse with the help of an American archaeologist among ancient burial sites.
I love movies and stories about looking for hidden treasures and lost tombs. I blame the TV series Relic Hunter which I grew up with. lolz
The plot of this thriller revolves around a novel, in which characters are thrown into a strange story because of Achilles’ heels, defined by their star sign. The movie begins with Tang Lin, a novelist who has been grappling with writer’s block for several years. Yet, a book written under her name – The Zodiac Mystery – appears in markets. Even more strangely, the people in the book bear the names of her childhood friends and experience situations that really happened to them. What’s worse is that the book writes of a mistake that the friends have kept secret for years.
