Leafless7,
The shows on your list that you have watched I have watched and the shows on your list you have not watched, I have not watched either. I am going to give you suggestions based on the reviews I have heard from other people.
1. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo - 20 ep.; A lot of mixed reviews. Can be emotionally intense at times and definitely not a fairy tale romance. But it is still rated 8.7/10
2. Dr. Romantic S2 - 16 ep.; It has the same rating as S1 so I hope you like it at least as much as you did S1. We both rated S1 an 8/10. Honestly, I heard S3 is the best, so you gotta watch S2 first.
3. Gyeongseong Creature - It is an action, sci-fi like Sweet Home but of course completely different idea. This is a thriller as where Sweet Home is Horror. Only 10 eps. and rated 8.7/10
I hope one of these interests you.
I would like to be recommended something from my PTW list HERE. Open to any suggestion! I do prefer Romance though.
Thank you SAOMEO146 for the recommendation! There is no problem with me watching A Shop for Killers as the ML is my fave actor! I've been putting it off because it is not romance which is what I usually watch but am looking forward to it and I already know I am going to like it.
A Shop for Killers - PTW CW Completed
*Ok so I haven't even finished the second episode and I love it so far. I'm really looking forward to what is to come. I'm glad I finally started watching this. I love Lee Dong Wook!
*This show was sooo good! It was action packed from start to finish. Never got bored once, and that means something for me considering it is an action drama. I usually never watch action, only romance. It is actually very hard for me to stay interested in anything but romance. But I was really impressed with this drama. I am really looking forward to Season 2.

Thanks a lot for your rec , I was going through the lists of dramas for rom less than 10 epi this was the perfect time for the rec , I Enjoyed every bit of it first of all some lyrics of the out was soooo good , I even came up with some lines on unrequited love
It goes like .....
you made me feel the colours that no one knew of , the colour of your confidence brighter than white itself that can be seen with my eyes closed , the colour of beauty elegant than red itself , the colour of your vibrant energy as tangy as colour orange itself , at the end you showed the colour of departure ,as gloomy as the black itself the colour i could never think of i would ever see, But you filled my colour palette of life with enough colour that I could Sketch out the most beautiful scenary which once i thought we would be enjoying together as slow as eternity.
I came up with this on 10 15 min so it might seem cheesy

21st challenge completed!
Hi again, Saygo!!
You are consistently both fun and challenging to recommend things for because of the overlap in our dramas, but this round I think my main recommendation is…
Defendant ! You’re no stranger to Ji Sung or Uhm Ki Joon, and they are quite an intense pairing for this crime thriller from 2017. Feel free to blame me if the name Cha Min Ho rings in your ears a while. It lives rent free in my brain. :)
direct link: https://i.postimg.cc/nc2gWWVc/IMG-1479.jpg
Also back to before the pandemic, an alternative I think you will enjoy (assuming the pandemic didn’t distort what I remember of it which is also possible) is Children of Nobody (aka Red Moon, Blue Sea), Kim Sun Ah the force to reckon with for that drama.
(Side note: you have not yet but absolutely should watch, whenever you have some time and can handle an intense story that involves, as a warning, child abuse as its starting point, my favorite drama, Mother, also from 2018.)
“Hello, darkness, my old friend” and the rest of The Sound of Silence seems to be playing in my head at the moment. Let me know if you might want something a little lighter.
Open for recs! No dubbing (so no Chinese historicals), but and under 20 hours is all I ask! Otherwise, ignore my chaotic mess of a bPTW and go off my completed list to know what I have liked! :)
I accept SAOMEO146’s recommendation for Blue Birthday! I picked the original one since it was the one you watched and rated highly.
Thoughts/rating: This was an easy quick watch I finished in one day. The cast were really convincing as teens, and while much of the story is the same as other youth-age first love time travel stories, this did a better job even with the sort episode length. Thank you for the rec! I gave it an 8.5 (a very good rating from me). :)

Hii ElBee
Ok I went through your watch list , damn it was too difficult to find a suitable one for you since you have watched over 1300 dramas
So I recommend you to watch
1) Blue birthday
2)Link click (roughly 18 - 19 hrs)
Both are based on time loop / travel since you have given good rating to someday one day and reset
I hope you will be delighted to see these

I accept the rec given by max (Nen A Gumi)

Overall the msg was indeed clear , the only character I liked was sensei and that manager boy who like her , but yep since the main core of the series was delivered perfectly

Hi SAOMEO146, ill try give you a couple of recs based on your lists.
Taxi Driver - gives kinda similarish(?) vibes to the glory & vigilante as it's about revenge and seeking justice when the law fails to provide it.
Prison Playbook - has the same screenwriter as Reply1988 and similarly, the characters and their relationships with each other are the highlight of the show.
Lovely Runner - havent finished it yet personally but it has time travel aspects which i saw you liked(?)
Healer - action/ thriller that also has some romance, idk what to say abt it tbh its just a widely-loved drama.
3 Nen A Gumi - another action/thriller that tackles social problems like bullying in a high school setting.
I accept Anne613's rec of Oh No! Here Comes Trouble

Hello max , I went through your plan to watch list and picked a couple of recs based on your priority.
You can choose one from the following options:
I accept SAOMEO146's recommendation to watch A River Runs Through It.
Status: Currently watching Completed
Thoughts: loved the drama, but it wasn’t a happy experience for me. I should have checked the tags more closely, as I usually avoid dramas centered on unrequited love.

I took about a day completing it the thing is modern rom com now are filled with repeated cliches but yep it's not really possible to exclude those , the thing I liked is ofc both fl ml (2nd ml fl too) but the fact atleast ml accepted that has feelings not like in other dramas took 4 epi for ml to realise he has feeling whatsoever , comical parts were pretty good tbh , overall it was a fine drama (if comparing with other modern rom coms)

Hello SAOMEO146 ,
this is the first time I have recommended a show to you, so I'm a little nervous. After looking at your PTW and Completed list I recommend the following :
Move to Heaven(10 eps) - this one is more of an emotional drama- Business Proposal (12 eps) - romcom. I love the friendships that the ML and FL have.
Perfect Marriage Revenge(12 eps) - has a bit of time traveling. i enjoyed it bc it's not dragged out and it's a good pace.
Open to recs. no horror please and not longer than 16 eps. thank you <3

You can choose one from the following options:
Open for any recs specially from romance genre, and preferably with a happy ending. Feel free to check my completed drama list to see what I've enjoyed!
P.S. - Please try to avoid my plan to watch list!
Edit 1 - I accept Monotanic's recommendation to watch Hold My Hand at Twilight.

Thoughts: My rating speaks for itself. I absolutely loved the drama! It's now on my list of all-time favorites. It gave me a cozy, warm feeling. Japanese dramas always capture that quirky vibe, and I loved every moment of it. Thank you for the recommendation!

First Challenge
Hi Anne613, this is my first time recommending something here, so i hope you wont be disappointed! Since you are looking for romance drama here are some for you:
- Hold My Hand at Twilight Absolutely beautiful story about two young people supporting and comforting each other while pursuing their dreams. Also the Soundtrack is out of this world!
- See You in my 19th Life Nice take on the reincarnation trope and i really liked shin hye sun in this one.
- When the Weather is Fine Lesser comedy than the other two options, but its a nice slice of life healing drama with that intimate small town vibe
Open for any genres. Maybe a japanese show. Also i'm very generous with the plan-to-watch button so my PTW list might not be super helpful.
Accepted SAOMEO146's Recommendation to watch Night Has Come
Status: Completed
Rating: 7.0/10
What i liked about the drama was the setting, since i played a lot of Town of Salem, which is more or less like Mafia. The overall pace of the show was good and i was interested until the end. The plot wasnt predictable and had some nice twists here and there. My only problem with the show are the characters. There wasnt anyone who grew onto me or who i rooted for. Even the Maincharacter seemed a bit boring to me.

Hii Monotanic
I can't make out what exactly you liked since you have not given ratings , but it seems you
Have similar taste like mine (romcom , thriller , suspense , antihero based series)
So as for recs
1) yokai girlfriend (I liked it because that was fresh for me , as I was being a drama slump but completed this one , you may not like if you focus on plot (not much bad though)also it is in your watch list)
2)reply 1988 (it's a drama I watched when I started watching kdramas , everything was so good , the vibes were so friendly , the innocence of childhood , natural love , the progress of characters , I would recommend you to skip the parts where they talk about themselves after getting married , I think it was in the starting of all episodes)(you should take your time when watching it)
3) night has come (This was also a fresh air for me , since I was playing game mafia42 , so I was really excited the drama would be , the in between surprises were really good )
4) 1 litre no namida (you should watch this if you are a neutral mood not much depressed type , since it's also based on true story , I was tearing up )
5) Tale of nine tailed ( it's on your hold section , you may watch it if you like would be a pretty good rom com series , I liked it too much since it was my first supernatural k drama )
6)Zettai kareshi - TBH I would prefer these rom com shows rather than modern ones , this one really felt like they are in love (you may get irritated in between episode) but still for me it was a good watch
You can choose any dramas based on your preference
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pls see my watchlist / profile for my likes and dislikes for recs
Edit 1- Accepted RSB rec (Le coup de foudre )
Status - CW COMPLETED
EDIT 2- I TOOK MY SWEET TIME COMPLETING IT , THANKS ALOT FOR RECOMMENDNING ME , This was so natural storyline didn't felt bored / exaggerated at all , going into my top 5 ranked dramas
Rating -10
Hi SAOMEO146!
Here are some recs based on your profile and watchlist:
- W: Two Worlds - kdrama with
timecrossworld travel. Fits the "thriller with romance" setup you like. Slow burn romance, lots of intrigue, anti-hero ML who goes dark, lots of drama, kept me on the edge of my seat. - Abyss - supernatural thriller with a romance subplot; fun and light but also serious and dramatic when it needs to be.
- Her Private Life - similar to one of your favorites, Dali and the Cocky Prince. Leads have a well-paced romance and a mature relationship dynamic.
- Mad For Each Other - similar to It's Okay to Not Be Okay. Deals with mental health and has larger-than-life characters who are still relatable and meaningful.
- Le Coup De Foudre - similar vibes to Reply 1988 (I love this one too) and A River Runs Through It. Follows a group of characters through adolescence to working adulthood. Meaningful story that really draws you in.
To a future recommender...
I am liberal with my PTW list so feel free to recommend something that's already on there (I've probably forgotten about it already) or recommend me something new! I'm fine with any country but usually prefer that dramas that are not super long (more than 30-35 episodes).
Might be helpful: my profile | faves list | faves list 2 (guilty pleasures) | watchlist
Accepted ElBee's recommendation: Twinkling Watermelon
Status: CW
22nd challenge completed!
Hi, RSB!
I read your profile and looked at your list and will throw a few with different storylines/styles of writing/genres to choose from based on your mood/what appeals at the time you read this:
First thing that comes to mind just wrapped up and is a romcom with more emotional depth than pure fluff pieces and especially strong character dynamics. The characters are imperfect but charmed me throughout the series (though not right away in all cases, naturally): No Gain, No Love
Next, a time traveling (by accident) story that was very hyped but IMO worth all its hype. The young ML plays the son of deaf parents and the brother to a deaf sibling and is seen as an angel interpreting for all of them and being a caretaker for his sibling when parents work, but he is under excessive pressure and escapes with music. An accident at home (while he is sneaking off to practice) opens a door to the past where he encounters both his parents, then strangers to one another, and realizes he knew almost nothing of his parents-his father was not always deaf, and his mother was living with a horrible stepmother and he wanted to intervene. he gets to live like a teen, finally, but in the place and time his parents were likewise teens. There is music and pretty cute romance happening. Twinkling Watermelon
direct link: https://i.mydramalist.com/0w0n3O_3f.jpg
A bit more somber in topic, a story of an autistic 20-year old who inherits his father’s business which entails cleaning up the scenes where people have died, crime scenes included (not gory but awareness alone can make some unsettled). The key is in organizing the belongings of the deceased, deciding what should go and what should be passed to the bereaved. Quite unusual premise with impressive acting by the young ML from my memory. Move to Heaven
Lastly, a sort of slice of life drama diving into the psychological states of the characters and dynamics between family and community members who are laid emotionally bare before the viewers. It is one that on its face seems boring from descriptions and even some of how it is set up, but it ended up, for Korean and intern audiences alike, being one of the most treasured works of the last quarter century. Much is understated, but they are so realistic it tugged at millions upon millions of heartstrings. It manages to be a drama that deals with depressing real life situations, even the ambience “gloomy” from one view, but also felt like a comfortable plush blanket, the muted colors there to soothe as much as sadden. You just have to watch to understand-pretty impossible to describe beyond “brilliant nuanced performances” objectively. My Mister
I hope one of those fits the bill! I have many more but narrowed it down by 897 or so! :)
Ready for recs! Anything up to ~24 hours works, my only firm exception/non-option dubbing (so no historical cdramas). please ignore my PTW and just tap the score button on my completed list to sort by rating see what I rated very high and very low. Weird=wonderful for me so long as the writing and acting can pull me in! :)
Hi, Monotanic! I’ve never heard of Rojo no Ruka, so I happily accept you ur recommendation! I am far less versed in jdramas and rarely know what has subs or not, so I am always happy to get a recommendation for one!!
Thoughts/Rating: Beyond the obvious parts, even the “normal” scenes of this somehow felt, maybe because of the backstory, deeply saddening to me, but it was nevertheless really beautiful. The FL’s music kept getting better and better, her skill honed in a way that felt like a real singer coming into their own. The performances were powerful, all of them, from the busker at the very start to the barely seen but impactful ML and the side characters, especially Fukin (I was really happy to see Murakami Nijiro even if the role was fairly small). Every character was 80% facial expression in terms of impact for me, and the FL especially felt pretty near-seamless from the awesome child actress I just wanted more of. My end rating is a 9.5. There are a few scenes I felt didn’t honestly do anything for it or felt underexplained/unresolved in ways that made them feel like odd filler (the whole marriage scam storyline and guy stalking Maori-was he someone scammed or what? He didn’t look like someone she would be pursuing and seemed more like a scary father figure visually, no story there, just disappearing… I don’t know how I feel on that or the aftermath with the IT guy who almost raped Ruka)…. The cops felt like an attempt to reunite the leads, but did it have to be a…marriage scam and them apparently cornering her for being homeless like the first guy? Do homeless Japanese people get taken in simply for being poor? Was this some strange test of friendship trial? It was disjointed and I would’ve rather just focused on her. S/A wasn’t even unexpected, but the situation was a bit weird/artificial feeling to me, gratuitous violence for a reaction vs showing the real risks-I was more concerned a music industry person would do something to her, honestly, especially with Maori gone, or something would happen on the streets. Pretty small, though, overall critique that would generally drop something a point… but the music performances and flashback in the finale, the apology with begging forgiveness from the ML, etc. all just threw another half point there because music is so often overlooked EVEN for dramas about musicians.
It has been a while since something has made me so melancholy and generally just emotional from just watching a quiet kind of biopic-feeling work. It was heartfelt in the songs and acting in particular, and I went in blind but still had an intense hunch this was the same creator as Love Letter which I also remember iconic scenes from quite well. I went from really not being sure I would like this FL (when she was playing the older sister) to loving her as Ruka (I think my reaction was probably what they intended, too, since no one should exactly be totally comfortable with kids [both were minors] having kids-but just when he had his mind settled, things got unsettled fast. Ruka singing of things being unfair felt almost too on the nose as she used songs to express her intense emotions, grief among the things she could only wail out in musical form… that was gorgeous.
Thank you for such a powerful show even if I felt like it was shredding my soul several episodes. ❤️
