I started with anime and manga in my childhood. I got curious after I saw a picture of a drama randomly. I didn´t find it at first, but years later i found out it was Full House XD (but it wasn´t so good... ) My First Drama and Jdrama was Hana yori dango Tdrama was Devil beside you Kdrama was Goong I love all three of them till today :3
I was browsing Hulu and saw Bad Guy the so I watched it and I became hooked on K dramas,,second was playful kiss and the third was secret garden...a start like that is like Heroin I am never gonna quit :)
I gor introduced to anime by my friend . She was an very big Naruto fan but because of that I dislike it still right now >_< Then after I very short time(or was it the same day ? ) I wanted to watch it by myself .But it wasn´t still dubbed and I am really curious from my nature and I just watched it slowly with engl. subs :D I was really bad at engish that time and I hated it in school xD I just translated it on some translator in the net every word and every sentece ...lol even though I still hated english at that time and suddenly it just diappeared my hate <3 And because it is always tricky ...you must always wait for the next episodes of the Animes ...I just read the Manga for it ... I think my firts Manga was Hana Yori Dango ,maybe wrong but it was one of my first .Because I wasn´t really clever I never asked other people on the net on sites like MAL for help...nooo I just looked for enteys like:My top ten favorite animes, mangas etc ...:D And I looked every episodes of them ^^Then after two years of my manga addiction I clicked on an video by mistake..I wanted to watch an anime but I watched the japanese Drama by mistake...and I was SO LUCKY because it was Hana Yori Dango ~ Then you must think that my Dramaddiction began but no somehow I watched new Dramas from time to time but just one yéar ago I realized my love for them ;) That was the time where I needed to track down all my Dramas on my list but only the one I was currentily watching :D
My first Jdramas were Ando Natsu and Mr. Brain. I kind of watched them by accident. We had a Japanese channel for about a year on TV. It wasn't free, so we didn't pay for more than that, just wanted to see what it was like. Plus, I had just started learning Japanese, so it kind of helped me a bit. Anyways, I flipped to it one day, and found Ando Natsu. I think Mr. Brain was on at around the same time. I still like Mr. Brain. Ando Natsu was ok. After that, it sparked my interest in watching Jdramas. I thought I would hate it, but I'm liking it more and more as I watch different shows.
I made the switch from Anime/Manga to Drama's thanks to OHSHC. That was my first Drama/Jdrama. After finishing Ikemen desu ne, i watched You're beautiful. And so, got introduced to Kdrama. Haven't watched any Tdrama yet.
Probably not a drama but a romantic comedy at that was Meteor Garden. I really loved watching it, though not a lot of people liked it. Next on my list would be My Sassy Girl and it was just nice and funny at that.
My first Kdrama was I Am Sam. I hated it but I only finished because of TOP. First Jdrama was Hana Yori Dango. I watched it right after I finished watching Boys Over Flowers and that was not a good idea. I ended up comparing the shows. I watched Hana Yori Dango again later on and realized that the chemistry between the two main characters in HYD is better than BOF. My first Tdrama was Devil Beside You and I loved it! I'm a sucker for forbidden relationships.
First J-drama was Hana-kimi which i watched because i totally loved the manga. After that i totally fell in love with dramas :) First K-drama was You're Beautiful which is one of my favorites. I just started watching my first T-drama Skip Beat which so far i love.
Maybe all filipino here write Meteor Garden as their first TWdrama they watched, coz it's the first asian drama that aired in our local television that broke our craziness in mexican novelas..It's a big hit here in my country..(i remember when i passed by to a small store which has tv,i was owed by how many people are there waiting for that drama to be aired, and after the first episode they talked about it over and over and over again as if they don't watched it together..haist!!!)and it was rerun if i don't mistaken 4 or 5 times..but i don't mind coz i love it! Because of the success of meteor garden the other network look for a new drama that will stir the curiosity of the viewers so they came up w/ kdrama bright girl which is 1st kdrama on our local network, but unfortunately because i'm still busy studying i slip my chance to watched it...so the 1st kdrama that i watched is WINTER SONATA(because it aired at night i got the chanced to watched it).. About jdrama...since were little japanese anime like dragon ball z,sailormoon and many more were all over our local network(my siblings and i used to choose wat character we are, and we fight over it if we had the same choice..kekeke). i don't know if bioman was consider jdrama since it's not an anime(i shud luk up to this**)!!! Unlike others i like it that kdrama and others were dubbed in my own language and aired in national tv, because i enjoy giggling along with my family and friends while watching.and after a day chatting with my office mate and fb friends about wat happens in the drama..and i felt it more because it was adapted in my own language...that's why even i already watched the drama on internet and it was aired in our local network,i still watched it..
I don't really know anymore if my first drama was "Gokusen" or "Hana Kimi", but I think it was "Gokusen". I loved both dramas so much that I continued watching asian dramas :D
- First Korean Drama: Boys Over Flowers~ - First Taiwanese Drama: Fated To Love You <3 - First Japanese Drama: Absolute Boyfriend I started watching dramas after Boys Over Flowers because.. they were appealing to me (hot guys caught my eye bwhahas) and because my friends had a list of dramas they recommended to me. Haha.. kind of ironic how at first I would always tease my friends were constantly watching their TVB or Korean dramas. But now, they're the ones who are teasing me for watching my asian dramas :P . Watching asian dramas whether it's Taiwanese, Japanese or Korean is great to pass time when I'm bored. It has great comedy, some eye-candy and the plots are usually pretty good.
First Kdrama : Coffee prince
First Jdrama : Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge
First Tdrama: Bull Fighting
I feel so old... First Japanese movie... "Love Letter" by Shunji Iwai in Japanese class in high school. Unfortunately it was subbed in Chinese and I am American so it took half the movie to figure out Miho Nakayama was actually playing two different people. I would later become totally obsessed with Shunji Iwai. First Japanese drama... Long Vacation and Beach Boys... LV was in reruns and BB was currently playing when I did a summer program in Japan. Didn't finish them till I got back to the US and some kind person from the j-ent mailing list sent them to me on VHS (!) with subs the following year. Chinese (HK) movie... Chungking Express because I heard Takuya Kimura was going to be in 2046 with Wong Kar-wai (that didn't materialize until many years later) Started listening to some k-pop in uni starting with Shinwa... I think because I was looking for a song that a Korean acquaintance played for me (which I never found) First K-drama... Winter Sonata because Japan (where I lived at the time... and still do) was totally obsessed and it was playing on NHK on Saturday nights. Started watching online last year because I got into Playful Kiss on TV during a vacation, and then I had to go back to work in the middle. Watched quite a few Chinese language movies, but haven't gotten into dramas. Looking back on the VHS years I have to say you guys are so lucky to have as much access as you do... Yay internet!
haha.. Feels good to reminisce that moment:))) It was december holidays.. 2009! Parents on vacation. Me alone:) Was bored after running out of dramas aired here on TV like Merlin, Kyle XY and Legend of the seeker. So with friends recommendation. First watched Hi, My Sweetheart(taiwan drama) on youtube in just 2 days! During the last episode video did i see high ratings for a korean drama at the right column of youtube.. You're Beautiful!!!! Through which i discovered dramacrazy.net and looking at the ratings.. I tried out a japanese drama next... Yamato Nadeshiko Shinchi Henge!!!!! Afterwhich i guess everyone knows what happened. Continuously watching dramas for the past 2yrs plus! Regardless the disasters i come across. Think i wnt, cldnt never will stop! Dramas.... HWAITING!
My first drama was the Jdrama Zettai Kareshi/Absolute Boyfriend. My first Korean drama was City Hunter and Taiwanese being Hana Kimi (although I saw the jdrama version of Hana Kimi first and liked it so much more). I found out about Zettai Kareshi after I finished reading the manga since I searched to see if there was an anime of it. Instead I found the drama and...yeah :) This was either early last year or sometime mid-late 2010. Then after ages, like months, I was watching some AMV's on youtube and stumbled upon a really good drama MV, which had clips from Hana Kimi (Japanese original) in. It made me want to watch it and once I finished, that's when I had a look for any other dramas. And then I discovered the whole new world of dramas! xD So yeah...I'm so glad I came across that MV~
