Drama Re-make

I have been watching some old dramas lately for example dramas like "MARS". the Taiwanese version is great don't get me wrong but i would love to see a remake specifically a Korean one. i have been thinking about the cast too.

i don't like re-make dramas, actually... because i like dramas that make me guessing about the story.. for re-make, i usually know about the story already.. but,,it's ok for great taiwanese dramas that i haven't watched..because i've only watched few of them :P i can't name any drama for now, tho.. :D

Remakes are not really necessary.

MARS is such a great drama, that I would hate a re-make.

It`s okey if they make re-makes of dramas that have a good story, but lack good actors or sth similiar.

The dramas that are absolutly perfect shouldn´t get remakes.

I would kill anyone trying to make a Secret Garden remake....

I'll pick... The Greatest Love, lmao (these days I'm definitely making enemies)
I'll have the Japanese remake it, because they'll keep the story short, cutting on the humour - which I never understood in the original - and on secondary characters, and they sure won't have anyone farting or burping.

here's my cast:

Kimura Takuya male lead

Nakama Yukie female lead

I never went far enough with the original to truly get the second male character, so I can't really chose an actor. :)

Hahahahahahaha, absolutely!!! Beige dresses with windows, pon pon on the shoulders and curtain tops are strictly forbidden!!!
believe me, I didn't forget the clothes intentionally... my brain must have removed the images. It's a self defense mechanism... :p

Wow im glad I got feed back :) although some dramas do not need remakes but I have seen some really good remakes happen where the story was good and so on for example dramas like , it started with kiss Taiwanese version was great and the Korean remake was also good, and than there is Hana kimi I love both Japanese version and the Korean remake I prefer the Korean remake, and than there is your beautiful which was great and the jaPanese remake was right on.

So remakes are awesome as long as it's a different country.

I dont know about other threads this one I made for mars b/c I really would love to see a remake.

Hmmm, for me the point is that the remakes are most of the time really crappy just trying to dig some more gold out of the hole the original impact blow.

I consider the Tversion of Hana Kimi as the original and the Jdrama as remake. The tversion is though the budget is not as big way better than the Jversion.
Shun Oguri is one of my fav j actors, but in this drama he is a shell without soul. The main actors are crappy and don´t give any good feeling, but the leads for the Tversion are really awsome and I want to rewatch it.

Ikemen Desu Ne was good okey, but it can´t beat You´re Beautiful.

Hana Yori Dango is just super great, but Boys over Flower I couldn´t even get over ep 1 and I call my self a Lee-Min-Ho-groupy!

I don´t want to start debatting about Kimi Wa Petto.....tse tse tse

The only remake that was really really awsome s It started with a kiss, but I don´t want to think of it as a remake. The original is soo old nearly no one knows it.

And to stay on topic: If they ever are going to make a MARS remake I´ll kill them if they use either Moon Geun Young or Kang Sora!!!!

I didn´t like Barbie, but I watched her with Vic.

So who would be a good Kira?

Yoon Eun Hye would make an awsome best friend, Harumi.

Aaahhhhh, Suzy! Miss A´s Suzy would be great.
If her acting improves she could be the perfect Kira. She is cute and totally the typ who would be love in a pedo way.

Mars was a great drama, I wouldn't want a remake no matter the leads. The chemistry between Barbie and Vic can't be recreated - not to mention the fact that they were a couple at the time and it's evident in all their interactions. I agree that re-making a drama which was very good in the original is never a good idea.
On my part I much preferred Ikemen to You're Beautiful, but that's me and I didn't think the original to be a particularly good product, just a display of eye candies, so I personally count this one as an example of a good remake of a mediocre drama - again, please don't hit me. Akai has already done so, she'll be lenient this time, I hope ;)

Therefore, I'm all for remakes of things which were not good enough in the original and can be vastly improved. :)
