Korea has more than just K-Pop. Who are your favorite K-Rock groups or songs?

Jaurim is pretty amazing. Her voice is so unique.
My ultimate favorite is the legendary Seo Taiji. It amazes me how different his dance hit "Nan arayo" sounds in 2004 Zero live, where it was performed as a rock song.

Loveholic!! I love this song. It's so sad, but so beautiful.

These guys definitely have a more techno sound.
Hello all! So I'm pretty well versed in K-Pop, being that I'm obsessed with the popular idols and dancing groups. I'm wondering if there are any good Korean rock or metal groups. When I watched To The Beautiful You, there was a great song by J-Min called Stand Up, and it was awesome! So, any ideas? Thanks!! :-D
My recommendation is Yim Jae Beom (I love him)

and my favorite one:

And from older ones i recommend Boohwal, this is one of most famous k-rock bands with long history.
To be honest there is nice drama Rock, Rock, Rock (4 ep) about this group.
http://mydramalist.com/korean-drama/1596/rock-rock-rock
It is very good drama and filled with rock music of this era and you get know alot about k-rock history, why it is like it is nowdays.

Main lead role plays No Min Woo http://mydramalist.com/actor/416/no-min-woo and i must admit he is doing very good job.

Some samples of Their music:

Search in YT, there is more of their songs and MV.
I totally love TRAX. Especially the old one ~~
They used to be produced by YOSHIKI from X JAPAN and that totally shows in their old music style.
Now TRAX has shrunk into a duo and both of the members are currently in army so they won't be making new music for next 2 years ;___;

Anyway some of my fav songs by the old TRAX:

And this is the "new" 2-member TRAX:

Big difference right?
I must say I love J-Min (feat. Jungmo) Stand up!! It fills me with positive energy when I listen to it!

Like Raincat, I'd recommend Boohwal!!
When I heard No Minwoo got a role in a drama about a legendary Korean rock band, I was curious to hear some of their music!
I immediately fell in love with this one (and read about the circumstances behind it ;_; ) :

And while watching the drama, with this one:

These days, I'm in love with the band called Jaurim:
HAVA RAVA already posted some cool TRAX songs (old TRAX music was awesome!!)
I would add this one:

Jinwoo from 2AM has some great (solo) rock songs, but I'll leave that for another post :)
If look into k-rock history:
"Korean rock started in the late 1950s with Shin Jung-hyun (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shin_Jung-hyun) and his band. While this was happening, Shin Jung-hyun was able to find Korean style of Rock And Roll. Finally in 1962, Shin Jung-hyun managed to own first rock band in Korea,Ad 4"
from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_rock (there you can find list of k-rock bands too)

"... Boohwal, Baekdoosan, and Sinawe were called the ?Big 3? by the media as they were all led by talented guitarists (Boohwal ? Kim Tae Won, Baekdoosan ? Kim Do Kyun 김도균, Sinawe ? Shin Dae Chul 신대철), had unique talented vocalists and all aimed to create heavy metal music."
from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boohwal

About Boohwal i already posted earlier, so littlbit about Baekodoosan (Traditional/Heavy Metal/Hard Rock (1986-1993, 2009-), Thrash/Death Metal (2006-2009), band is still active now.
"Baekdoosan formed by Yoo Hyeon-Sang and Kim Do-Gyoon in 1986. Later, Yoo Hyeon-Sang went on to record several teuroteu (the oldest form of Korean pop music, highly similar to Japanese enka) albums. He was forced to change musical styles in order to gain his love's parents' approval for marriage. He is also a prominent producer. He re-joined the band in 2009 along with Kim Do-Kyoon."

Sinawe [Hard Rock/Heavy Metal (early), Alternative Rock (later)] was oldest from thous "Big 3"
"Sinawe (Korean: 시나위) is a heavy metal/rock band from South Korea. They are credited as being the first heavy metal band in South Korea. During its golden age in the late 1980s and early 1990s, many renowned musicians in South Korea such as Seo Tai-ji, Kim Jong-Seo, and Yim Jae-beom improved their musical ability. Sinawe was formed by Shin Dae-cheol, the son of Shin Jung-hyeon. In 1996, five years after the group's breakup in 1991, Shin Dae-cheol reformed Sinawe with new members."
from:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinawe

In drama "Rock, Rock, Rock " Sinawe is mentioned like one of role models and rivals to Boohwal and you can hear some of their songs.

Fate of rock music was in Korea more painful than exsample in Japan. Influenced greatly by political situation and by pressure from producing companies. All this doesnt support making rock music in Korea. Later rise of well promoted K-pop bands has made situation even more harder. Despite all this is K-rock managed survive and has some good bands with original sound.
I'm very interested in hearing more about Krock, keep up the recommendations. :) However, there is already a thread for this. I wonder if Skyekeiku can merge them. KRock < Clicky!
Vanilla Unity
"is a South Korean rock band. Formed in 2004, the band consists of Lee Seungju on vocals, Kim Younghoon on guitar, Lee Jeonghak on guitar, Kim Minseon on bass guitar, and Jo Seongjoon on drum.

from:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vanilla_Unity

Their song, "IF", is featured on the Music game DJMax Portable 3 and DJMax Technika 3 by the South Korean company, Pentavision

They decided to go their separate ways at the end of 2008 and did a Farewell concert but are back again and released 2011 album
"We Are Rising"

Search littlebit in YT and you can find more good songs from them, sadly here, in MDL is 4 video limit...
