I'm kinda getting sick and tired of all these dramas with the sickly sweet, static, naive girl and the gruff jerk (who we find out later on only acts that way because he was hurt at one point in his life) and how she change's him.

I want a romance that:

- is unconventional

- amazes and defies logic

- Mature, not that school-girl crush crap that's been portrayed thousands of times

No, I want to feel RAW - like I just went through what they went through.

Basically, I just want you to post what you believe is a romance that is different from the ones you've seen before.

Thank You!

The best mature romance in my opinion (From the dramas I have watched) is It's Okay, That's Love
Maybe:
A Gentleman's Dignity
My Name is Kim Sam Soon
Personal Taste
You can try I Hear Your Voice, it has one of the most awesome female leads I've seen in a drama, strong, sassy, sincere.
The two male leads are very good people, not jerks.
I loved it, try it
Scent of a Woman (I thought this romance was very mature and simply mind blowing)

Cinderella's Sister (not your typical female lead and the romance was mature)

Jewel in the Palace (if you're into historical. I thought their romance was very well developed and they made it seem like they were very much in love. plus he wasn't a jerk so that was a bonus)

49 days (beautiful and felt like true love. In the beginning it seemed kind of like the other romance's but it becomes more deep and mature as the drama goes on. seriously, that drama will hit you right in the feels)

Miss Ripley (well...the whole point of this drama was about someone's lies and fabricated affections but there was a lot of honesty in it as weird as that sounds. She's definitely not your typical female lead and the romance in it was mature.)

Can We Get Married
I Need Romance
Queen In Hyun's Man
Some jTBC dramas like Beloved, Secret Love Affair, Your Neighbor's Wife, A Wife's Credentials
The Innocent Man, maybe

I don't necessarily like the following ones but I think they fit the bill:
Can We Love
Que Sera Sera

Sealed with a Kiss.
It's Okay, That's Love ( dealing with issues of metal illness, this drama was about love as well as the bonds created between people to form a family)
Scent of a Woman (lovely, sad and sweet, loved this drama)
MARS ( a little old but very good, with great acting and a deep emotional bond between the leads)
Emergency Couple (didn't love this one personally, but the theme of a failed couple finding a way back into each other's hearts was good)
King2Hearts ( not an overly emotional story, but the strong bond and trust that the main couple develop was something that I really loved watching)
Missing You ( the main couple has to overcome a tragic and deeply disturbing childhood past in order to find their happiness)
I second
- Mariage Not Dating
- A Gentleman's Dignity
- It's Okay, That's Love

First that came to mind was Nine.
Late reply because I typed up about this yesterday but didn't have my email confirmed so I lost everything so this is going to be a bit less detailed

http://mydramalist.com/115-love-shuffle (If you haven't seen this then you need to see it now the drama is 10 episodes the first 2 episodes are kind of boring but I promise you you will likely love this drama :)) It is a Japanese drama you can find it on youtube I downloaded my copy of asiatorrents

http://mydramalist.com/9803-marriage-not-dating (the female lead can be a bit childish at times but the story and chemistry between the two characters is really great and it is a very different kdrama romance)

http://mydramalist.com/8369-never-give-up-dodo (another short Chinese web series this time a romantic comedy very different and lots of fun it is also on viki)

http://mydramalist.com/3394-the-bridal-mask (a great Romance)

http://mydramalist.com/4996-the-king-of-dramas (Highly Recommend this one)

http://mydramalist.com/7028-two-weeks (okay so the couple im talking about in this series they are exs but you see how much they loved each other when they were dating and I really loved their love story)

http://mydramalist.com/13445-the-producers (okay so this is not one of the best kdramas I have ever watched  but from a writing and sociological standpoint the way the Romance is portrayed here is very realistic and well done)
I just started watching this yesterday and I am addicted I love this drama <3
http://mydramalist.com/13383-the-lover
there are 4 couples and even a homosexual relationship is shown on the show I love it so much

On the way to the airport (an airhostes and an architect begin an affair following the death of a daughter. They find comfort and solce in each other as their families are about to fall apart due to the secrets held by their respective partners) highly recommended, beautifuly done frm the cast to the plot to the characters.

The hotel king (follows the story of a young man who sets out to revenge his biological father for killing his mother and making him an orphan. He plots to bring down Koreas biggest hotel company by placing himself as the general manager at the hotel owned by his father.) unexpected turns with a strong romance drama.

It's okay it's love (the hatred turns to love when a famous writer cum radio jockey meets a psychologist. Both have their own personal struggles to overcome, over time they heal other. With an intresting set of roommates their life is full of drama) I fell in love with D.O, amazing work by whole cast.

When the winter winds blow (a con artists sets scam the blind sister of his dead friend of her huge inheritence but ends up falling in love with her.) the plot is slow but the romance is very mature.

Something in the rain ( a young US return man falls in love with friend of his elder sister with whom he played as a child. Faced by the opposition of his sister, family and society the couple struggle to stay together) honestly I loved few episodes but you need patience for this.

Time (a man from a rich family wishes to undo his wrongs towards a devasted women. He sets on giving her the luxury of life but she rejects them all as she is set on saving her pride but when she sees the ugly side of life she decides to take revenge which is fueld by her hate, pity and love for the man who fell for her but can't love her.) a personal favourite because the characters have so many layers and each dialogue has a deeper meaning behind it.

The scent of a women (a women who is facing mid life crisis gets to know she is terminally ill and has to complete everything on her 'bucket list' it includes falling in love. Her journey is accompanied by the rich brat who falls head over heels for her but will she live to enjoy the feeling of love.) starts in a so so manner but develops into one of the most beautifully written love story I have seen in kdrama.

The package (korean) (follows the story of a tour guide in Paris, France  who is trying to follow her dreams after a messy life back in her hometown Korea and a man who  has a very straightforward approach in life and holds true to his morals. Its a funny encounter of these oppising personalities in the backdrop of misunderstandings and an uncanny attraction) warning this drama isn't very impressive but yes some scenes are very well written and timeliness of romance is realistic.

Encounter (a happy go lucky man who always seems to be positive in life meets a women in her thirties who lives a very complicated life where smiles don't exist. As the two click both discover a new world one experiences the scary side of power while the other relearn happiness) the writing is slow but the potryal and build up is consistent with some sassy dialogue and push and pull scenes.        #Plz note this drama is still airing while I write this list#

I think the drama that blew me away the most was V-Focus(Taiwanese drama) as their chemistry was amazing. The female lead was not your typical naive girl but instead the opposite - a headstrong female lead that is not seen very often. Their romance is by far one of the most mature ones I have seen.

Another one is Hwayugi (Korean drama).  The chemistry between the two was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed this drama.
