He co-worked with Ken Mak for "Golden Chicken 2" in 2003, and both of them were nominated for Best Art Direction award. His art directing work in “Savior of the Soul”, “The Twins Effect”, “Elixir of Love” and “Perhaps Love” was all highly acclaimed. He also participated in the first aromatic movie in Hong Kong, “Lavender”.
In 1998, he had his directorial debut for “Anna Magdalena”. He also received an Oscar nomination for Best Costume Design Award for “Curse of the Golden Flower”.
