ahaaaa, tysm for the info, i dont see the background of movies/series, so this helps a lot. If this would be first movie, then the problem is marketing - i would expect it being promoted not as a solo but a first, which i would asses slightli differently. But i dont feel like netfix is counting on any ontinuation, and it is not only for this project, which is... very capitalistic. and survival, i guess.

I am not big for "you need to talk to have a romance" if we speek about the verbal cmmunication happening in words and i still find it lacking significantly at some places. Nor am I so much obsessed over them having or not an explicit scene on the screen. So I probably don't fit into your standard categories, and yet I find at many places this is lacking. And it is far away from what I expected, not always in negative wa though. But in many cases what other probably younger audiences are praising here, I find lacking even in those. Name it, it's dancing (furtunetelly not acting, but) romanc, building stones for friendship or promise of something more BTS... some ways how they dealt with the 10dance concept. I just felt so many things that could have been done with slight change and they would have been way more impactful. It's not that I am not happy, but as someone else mentioned below in comments, I was maybe overhyped with the trailer, which - trailer usually should promise you something that is gonna be built in the series or a movie for me to be content. Like, let's take in KP the series - great hype, it is supposed to. But the biggest win for them is not to stop at what is showed in advance, but continuing with it and giving satisfying results to ppl. Thing is, if you finish in movie what you began in trailer, people are not gonna be content and happy. People are gonna complain that you promised something, but you never developed that one. So, if you not want to disappoint audiences, check what you are doing and where is the final result, and always show in trailer the beginning of it, not the end of it. It is a mistake to do a movie in a trailer style, but it's not a smaller mistake to hype people over trailer and not develop on what is showed there in the project/movie. If I did not see the trailer, I would have different expectations, and I would probably be way more happier and way more hyped with the movie itself. But where the trailer started, the movie should have finished it, and it did not happen. It happened the other way round, which is where the dissatisfaction from some of us comes. It's far from being a bad movie, but it's my problem with Netflix specifically. They try to make it something bigger than it usually is, and they don't deliver on many things that were done way better in the past . And I started to not like Netflix or see it as a positive sign if projct is done by Netflix for a longer period of time. But now, because they are dealing with LGBTQ+, I feel connected to that on a very deep level. So they showing me again in this project that they haven't done it, is disappointing yet not surprising for me. But it's kind of pity. I am now happy that I am watching JG's series, and I have these Chinese series in storage and koran ones that I am gonna watch. Because this was nowhere near where I was when this trailer was shown to me. But it's fine, it's a learning experience as any other.

I kinda like this series and am not disappointed. I entered knowing the shortcomings. I had not go through the week to week torture either, again knowing, what I go into. Actors and characters behavior to each other I find cute. I am sorry to hear there were initially only critical comments. But I get big portion of young ppl will not get this, nor will they just accept.
