The nuances in silent scenes without any monologue or dialogue are so good yet heartbreaking. You could feel through…
Same. Like in hindsight, nothing seems to be going on but it actually gives us time to immerse ourselves as the characters and understand their thoughts and emotions for a particular scene.
did anyone watch the movie version too? is this better? its one of my fave mangas so curious abt the adaptations…
The popular opinion seem to be that this is a better adaptation than the movie. However, I do think you should see for yourself as opinions are often subjective. I personally think this this is a very good adaptation though, probably my favorite BL of the year so far.
I haven't read the manga so this is only based on my opinion on that short flashback scene with Taichi, but the…
Yeah, unfortunately. I do know a couple of friends from separated families who are also raised by their grandparents because their own parents can't put their differences aside for the sake of their own child. Honestly, it must hurt a lot that neither parent would want to raise you. That was why I wanted to hug Taichi so bad. 😭

That exactly is the main problem here. Both his parents have remarried (as stated by Taichi with his conversation wit Kohei) and can't set their emotions aside for their own child due to their hatred for each other. It isn't because they "lack the energy", it's simply because they're projecting their hatred for each other to the only punching bag they have, aka their own child. Again this is a very common occurrence for children with divorced parents. And as infuriating and childish as it is, it is more common than you think. 😔
I know my math skills suck, but how is Taichi’s mother doesn’t have energy to deal with her 1 son, while going…
I haven't read the manga so this is only based on my opinion on that short flashback scene with Taichi, but the point is neither the mom nor the dad prioritizes Taichi over their other kids and family. Taichi was passed around by his parents because neither of them can't be bothered to take care of him aka why the grandpa is currently his legal guardian. This is a common problem that occurs to children with divorced parents.
As an Asian who experienced something similar, I think it's kinda unfair to blame solely his mom, especially since…
No no it's alright. I mean the mom was still partly at fault for it, but I just wanted to say things are not all black and white. Things happen. And I still have it lucky, compared to Kohei who's gradually losing his sense of hearing. I can only imagine how hard that must've been.
Taichi I will protect you from anyone or anything that hurts you. 😭
(I really love this song as well 😭)
