To each his or her own:) I loved this way more than Ten Miles of Peach Blossom. I guess that's the beauty of being…
Me too.
I love L&R way more. The evolution of their emotions feels more realistic to me.

In “Dance of the Sky Empire,” it felt like, Wu Jia Yi did not want to be there.
Her synergy was off, her chemistry was off, her acting was off... everything was off with her character.
I don’t know if it was the directing or the role but she was not her usual responsive self, at all.

Therefore, Xuxu ended up carrying the whole show by himself. His character was an emotional wreck with too much unreciprocated emotions.

Oh, I am not worried about Xuxu’s acting.
For an eye-candy, he is overwhelmingly and surprisingly talented.

What I am afraid of is that he will have to carry the entire drama on his own again, like he did in “Dance of the Sky Empire.”

That is so unfortunate that Rachel Wang is not the female lead. She is so good at conveying emotions with her eyes. Her and Xuxu could have been so perfect and good grief, more convincing...

As for Cheng Xiao... Hemmm...
I get worried for the drama she is in; whenever, I see her name.

Title Love and Redemption Spoiler
I love Xuan Ji! She's one of my favorite female leads!
I think episode 1 or 2.

The other turn-off factor for me is about the male lead. The fact that he already had a girl and kid just do not seat well with me.
I am a more unconditional-love kind a girl... I hate flip-flopping love stories.

Same reasons for which I dropped “Royal Nirvana.”
Of course, the constant violence against the female lead was also unbearable to watch.

I do agree with you.
I don’t think L&R and AOL are similar at all, aside that they both are Xianxia.
I don’t get why almost everyone is comparing them... As you said, everyone has their personal standards...

Because I have always loved the lead couple so I did tried Ming lan. To give both actor and actress the respect they deserve; I think I tried it 4 or 5 times. However every single time, I was asleep faster as if I was watching a gulf tournament. Ming lan Is unbelievably dull to me.

Among the tomb raider’s genre, Mystic Nine is also one of my favorites.
*Fyi, Cheng Yi is also in the most recent released series. I am still waiting for the full completion before I start the 2 seasons.

On Maiden Holmes Oct 7, 2020
This drama is not the greatest but it is definitely better than a lot of nonsenses that got released this year.
Maiden Holmes is enjoyable and simple. Nothing is over dramatized and the editing crew did not ravage the storyline. Thanks goodness!!!

I am intrigued about this new comer, Zhang Ling He, he certainly has potential.
He is also very easy on the eyes;)...
That is always a plus in my book.

Xu Kai who? ;)
Oh....
That’s low. Lol

Poor Xuxu, he’s getting destroyed here. His coming release better be smashing.
Darn... His love interest in his next release, “Falling Into Your Smile,” is with that one... Cheng Xiao.
Damn!!!

Title Renascence Spoiler
I actually feel bad for the cast and crew. I think this drama could've been something special but the cuts destroyed…
This reminds me of “Legend of the Phoenix” with Jeremy Tsui but with a more disturbed male lead’s character.
Fyi, I dropped that one too...
The comatose empress is his sister-in-law, good grief!!! She had a choice and she chose the slimy snake instead of him. Get over yourself, already!!!
His lack of decorum is a total turn off for me. His good looks can not redeem the character either.

Finally, we have Li Mo Zhi, one of those unmemorable actresses around, playing a strange hybrid soul between herself and her comatose sister. Why would I develop any attachment to a character who is in love with her sister’s boy-toy?
This is absurd!!!

Yes, the reduction of episodes as well as the chopping and the editing are not doing any favor for this drama. However, these are not the worst parts about this drama... The storyline sucks!!!

Yep, as I said below:
The editing in this drama is a complete nonsense.
And I thought “Love a Lifetime” was bad... No, this one is way worse.

*The storyline is doing more jumping jacks than a physical trainer.
I feel like that I am on a parkour trail; I can’t keep up with the crude chopping and editing.
Hahaha...

The male lead’s acting skills is ok but I am not too keen on the female lead. The turn off for me are the characters, themselves. They are not likable.

IKR... My high standards are killing me. Lol

Some good ones from recent years that might be to your likings:
- Lost Love In Times
- The General and I
- Ancient Detective
- Under The Power
- Princess Weiyoung
- Legend of Lu Zhen
*Keep in mind, all those have strong lead characters.

Hemmm...
I am not really into fluffy dramas with hybrid costumes period.
To me, they feel like side-stories that are produced for a more juvenile demography.

However, I did try “Romance of tiger and rose.” Unfortunately, I had to drop it. I am all for “Girl Power” but an entire city, full with masochist and chauvinist females, was too hard for me to swallow. Even though, it was simply a parody on the stereotypical ancient male gender, I could not give up my ideals on equality for a couple of laughs.

To follow up with your comment, I love strong dramas with a clear and linear storyline. Preferably with a strong male lead and a badass female lead.
Of course, the female lead’s character must be:
- Intelligent
- Great strategist
- Badass fighter
- Has a clear and distinctive understanding of which man that she is in love with
- I cannot stand indecisive female leads in any love triangle
- I cannot stand obnoxious, annoying, irritating, rude, obtrusive and whinny female leads
- If she happens to have great visual looks, that is a plus... But not a must

*Inevitably with those criteria, this year I can only count 3 dramas that follow them, so far:
- Joy of Life
- Cross Fire
- Love and Redemption
“Song of Glory” could have made it on the list but those morons decided to murder the show by killing the most important character off (Lige).

Hey, the gifs on your profile with the action packed FL, what drama / movie are they from?
My types of “badass female leads”characters must be:
- Intelligent
- Great strategist
- Badass fighter
- Has a clear and distinctive understanding of which man that she is in love with
- I cannot stand indecisive female leads in any love triangle
- I cannot stand obnoxious, annoying, irritating, rude, obtrusive and whinny female leads
- If she happens to have great visual looks, that is a plus... But not a must

*I agree with most of your list. In “Princess Agents,” the female lead’s indecisiveness about that love triangle was a complete turn off for me.
*In “Legend of Awakening,” I just didn’t like her whole character, period.
*I have not watched “Young Blood” and “Love In Between.” But I hear the latter has a male lead character who is not a fighter. I am not really keen on that aspect either.

Indeed.
That ridiculous ending made the rest of the drama just superfluous.

Well, Shame...
Lige still remains one of my favorite badass female leads.

There is a copious number of mistakes in Chinese drama productions this year.
This ending in Song of Glory is one of their biggest ones.

No problem.
I agree with you about the Lige’s character.
Well that is, until they killed her off; which was totally absurd.
