looks interesting but only on mgtv? their subs really giving me headache so i guess i'll skip this one
I’m watching it on Viki right now. They’ve got it condensed into 7 episodes and the Eng subs have been good so far. I’m only just starting ep 2 though.
damn.... Koreans and Chinese have a VERY similar way of portraying japanese in historical settings huh LMAO
That one episode about the Comfort Women should help you understand a big reason why. Try looking the topic up if you don’t know what I mean.
Not to mention the way they conquered so many Asian countries to impose forcibly impose their beliefs on them and treated the inhabitants like they were inferior and trash. It’s no surprise at all why they’re so despised. Not trying to be negative towards the Japanese or anything. Just saying the history amongst those countries is nasty,
omg i just finished and one thing i gotta say is... watch it at your own risk. I went into the drama thinking…
Of course the topics would be the toughest of the tough. We’re taking about suicide here.
I’m surprised you found the episodes to be depressing though. The whole point of each episode was to help people face those most painful challenges and overcome them to become happier and stronger people.
This series is clearly made to directly combat the ridiculously high suicide rate in Korea. Not make people even more depressed and even more suicidal. IMO it would have been depressing if they weren’t able to save them all. Thankfully they saved every single one. Loved it.
I wish it left you feeling happier and just more emotionally prepared to face life’s challenges too. I wish everyone could watch this and feel that way. That would be awesome.
How did Park Jung Gil reincarnate? He killed people, should have gone to hell. After all, he is so keen on judging…
They did explain that people serve their punishments for their sins and then their slate is wiped clean. Then they can choose to reincarnate or become a reaper. Some people do end up with everlasting punishment in hell it sounds like too though.
Oh and times were different. What’s unheard of now was perfectly acceptable, even honorable, back then. For a noble, of course.
Plus, clearly going to hell doesn’t stop you from becoming a reaper. Just sayin’.
Just drop it. Hwang Jung Eum will keep screaming throughout the whole drama.
How was it? I started this ages ago but couldn’t handle all the lying and betrayal in the beginning if I remember correctly. Trying to decide if I should give it a try…
ML pretty much forces her to behave better lol. He calls her out on her b.s. and dishes it right back to make her see how ridiculous she’s being. You should give it a try. It’s not at all what you’d expected. It’s NOTHING like other kdramas IMO.

History is ugly all over the world. It sucks.

I’m only midway through episode 4!
Love him but he sure does make me want to smack him
