I like dramas where the villains are more nuanced and somewhat sympathetic. It's better than cookie cutter evil.

It is a common request on Dramafever but I've given up. They are never gonna do it.

I like a lot about this drama and am a fan of both the leads. My feeling through episode 16 is that it is a good drama that could have been a great drama if they had cut the filler and streamlined things a bit...maybe 30 episodes. Still love the music and just the whole general vibe.

They make them too long for the story they want to tell so a lot of episodes end up being contrived or filler. The C-dramas are the worst with sometimes 10 to 15+ episodes more than what the story calls for. Taiwan and Korea do this as well but watching a 16 episode k-drama that should have been 13 is much less painful than 40 plus episodes that should have been 24.

Since they are totally pre-produced and waiting in line to air in China, I have no idea why they do this.

I have not read the book but others have noted who she ends up with among the guys but don't know if the drama will end the same way. That, of course, doesn't mean every other character doesn't meet a tragic fate along the way ! Gave it 7 episodes but I'm done. They barely set up the premise with the tree and then give us a love triangle, the most overused trope in all of k-drama. Too bad because I do like Kim So Eun.

Yes, this is the problem with a drama like this. We all know the big moment is gonna happen so it's just a matter of when.

He looked great with the shaggy long cut from Mars and in modern hairstyles so I don't think the scraped back hair is the best for him. Oddly, I find some male Chinese stars that are super hot with the long hair just are average looking with modern styles so It just is what it is.

I'm through episode 25 and there is definitely a bit of a lull in the story, but I do realize they are laying the foundation for the second half. Normally there is always one side story I'm not interested in, but I'm invested in all the characters in this drama.

Through episode 5 and I'm having trouble hanging on but just finished Radio Romance so I think I'll casually watch a few more episodes and see how it goes. So far it is in the "just ok" category.

I like both Vic and Wayne in this quite a bit because it's just different from the standard story set-up. I see Yin Xue as trying to be patient since she's getting over her heartbreak but he can't quite do it which was shown best I think in the scene where he has the flash back and drops the umbrella and she eventually flies away. I thought that showed what he was dealing with quite well. The show has him be mysterious and somewhat whimsical sometimes and it's hard to get a feel for him right away.

I've never seen Meteor Garden but heard Vic wasn't great in that; however, I thought he was fantastic in Mars which is one of my favorite Taiwanese dramas.

Through episode 21 it really isn't that gory. There are well done action scenes so far but not a lot of gore. However, I can see in the opening and closing songs that things will get more intense so can't speak to future episodes.

I would say Vic Chou is the lead but it is pretty even between him and Wayne Liu.

I have seen 3 remakes but it's been years so I guess I'm not sick of the idea of the nastiness of the original characters; however, I agree the age of the characters in this makes having all three be so nasty right off not as workable. I think if they'd made just one be the poor little rich kid instead of all three, it would have worked better for me because as it is right now, they all seem like they walked off the set of Heirs. I mean the concept of my mommy is marrying your daddy and I don't like it is a direct rip off of Heirs.

Regardless, I find this drama did keep me interested and I'm going to keep watching but actually want to see more of the young and less of the parents.

I wish the drama had been brave enough to make the three friends nasty, venal people instead of the woe-is-me poor rich kids scenario. Regardless it is a crackly kind of drama so I'll stick around for a bit longer and see how it goes.

I agree. I've never seen a lead in a C-drama written quite this way before.

I sometimes find the fight scenes in wuxia to be repetitive. However, I have to hand it to the fight coordinator because the whip fight scene in episode 9 was fantastic.

I've been thinking the same about Yin Xue. There is a whimsical quality to that character. I've seen quite a few historical/wuxia C-dramas and I'm hoping for a bit different kind of hero and heroine because it has gotten a bit repetitive.

Well, having said that I love the second lead and want him to get his own drama but I have no SLS.

11 episodes in and there is very little indication of a love triangle though they tease about it a bit.
