APPLAUDS to the more than excellent usage of background music!!...especially the intriguing instrumentals during…
I agree, and I really noticed it in episodes 5 & 6. It gives a definite vibe to the drama that makes it stand out a bit.

Is it just me or does anyone like Sharon's character over Jung Hae Ra?
I think the character of Sharon would be fantastic to play as an actress because I can feel a little (just a little) sympathy for her but she is truly a horrible person. I mean she's learned nothing. But I think all this does make her interesting.

can somebody spoil it for me? So is ji ahn or ji soo the real daughter? Im in ep 3 right now
Okay, but only because you asked. The real daughter is Ji Soo. The plot actually moves quite quickly for a family drama.

TO THOSE WHO DROPPED THIS AT EP 1: Please watch a couple of eps further, it got better. Plot less confusing too.I…
It ain't perfect but I think people should give it through episode 4 if they like actors or genre. Everything is coming together and the direction is better. Sometimes I think filming overseas is a mistake.

I think this is one of SSH's better performances.

I have no issue with nudity in movies, but I actually thought for a couple that was supposed to be so obsessed with each other, these scenes (especially after the first time) really lacked passion or any sense of urgency. I blame the director who puts together these scenes. Explicit doesn't mean passionate.

Overall it was an okay movie, but the plot held very little in the way of surprise.

Haven't tried Mad Dog. Of the rest, the only one I really enjoyed all the way through was Fight My Way. I just liked the leads and found it believable that they actually were friends.

Suspicious Minds and School 2017 were okay for me but not fantastic. I found both too long for the story they wanted to tell. I'm still watching While You Were Sleeping but am losing steam.

I absolutely agree about Strong Woman. I really loved the first few episodes but it went downhill fast. I think everyone just loves the leads but couldn't believe the ratings this got when the story was all over the place. And I really wish they'd stop putting serial killers in rom/com dramas.

You shouldn't get much hate for this list. I'm someone who dropped Goblin at episode 9 and think Coffee Prince is hugely overrated ! Ha! Seriously, I have learned to go into all dramas with very middle of the road expectations. I don't buy into hype because it really comes down to the writing. Bad editing might annoy me but if the story is good enough, I'll stick it out til the end.

The filming issues I noticed in the first two episodes weren't there this week so probably more about setting up a storyline and dealing with Slovenia shoot. I'm actually glad the storyline doesn't seem overly complicated because generally, I find that k-dramas don't necessarily pull this off in a satisfactory manner.

Oh, and I live in a sunny climate but this drama makes me want to invest in a whole line of winter coats.

Let's be fair, not everyone dies in MLs, just everyone we actually care about.

The LMH reviews are my favorite. Would love to see more.

Shin Se Kyun is doing great and honestly she shows more talent in acting than Kim Rae Won right now. A good script…
SSK is doing just fine in this imo. I think KRW is doing fine with what he has been given as well because all he's been able to do is be enigmatic as they set up the story around the female character. We know so little about him which I think is the point. I do hope the writer gives him something to do besides be mysterious and tragic. I've just accepted that SSK, along with several other actresses, get a constant barrage of negativity from the international audience.

I feel like actresses get more flak for their "bad acting" than male leads do....Almost every drama I watch, I…
I thought SSK did well in Sensory Couple and she was not the issue in BOTWG. Many seem to think she does well in historicals as well. I don't think she did a great job in When a Man Loves but the writing was an issue. Frankly, I just didn't get that drama at all. I don't think she's the best crier in the business but truthfully, I have never gotten the k-drama love for dramatic wailing/crying so this doesn't bother me.

re: TOL The writing went sideways about mid-way making characters do things that made no sense and no way was there enough story to have a 20 hour drama. I felt Doctors (same writer) was way too long as well though I did finish that drama.

Is Black good? I hear its kind of confusing
I haven't watched it yet, but I really like the supernatural genre so I definitely am going to check it out. I haven't been reading too many reviews because I don't want spoilers in a drama like this but, yeah, I've heard it is a bit muddled. Hopefully they wrapped things up in the final episodes. It hits Netflix on 12/15.

I dropped Romantic Doctor (all that yelling) early and Temperature of Love eventually. Stuck with it too long. I have put Chicago Typewriter and While You Were Sleeping on the backburner which indicates a good chance of me never revisiting them. Chicago Typewriter has some dedicated fans though.

I completed Suspicious Partner...it's okay, The Liar and the Lover which actually grew on me as it went on. Just completed Revolutionary Love which was okay. I think they messed up the tone of that drama but it did improve and I didn't have much else going on.

I have no plans to watch the others you dropped. I watched one episode of Hwarang and never went back but don't think that counts as an official drop....just not my thing. Word of mouth stopped me on Ruler but, wow, that drama do well in Korea. For that matter so was Romantic Dr and I still don't understand why unless it is the actor.

If not too sure about this one, viewers might check out the writer. She's had some solid dramas but also some misses. When A Man Loves is one of the misses imo but I thought Unkind Women was solid though not perfect. Also liked The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry though it is dated now.

Anyway, I'm fine with the actors. KRW is such a man and has such a solid screen presence. I know the actress is problematic with some but she's doing fine (two hours in thus far). I did find the first episode to be very jumpy production wise (jump from scene to scene) as if they were trying to fit a lot of the story and get the foundation put in almost too quickly. I'm hoping it calms down now that the story is set.

Unlike most, Goblin didn't really work for me though it was beautifully filmed and Bride of The Water God was a bust in terms of real supernatural suspense so I'm hoping this drama can fill the void until Black shows up on Netflix.

Thanks. I'm pretty calm about My Golden Life but, honestly, I can vent like crazy when a drama goes sideways on me (most recently Temperature of Love). Ha!

Ji Soo can definitely be frustrating so I hope she has some bumps in the road on her path to maturity especially when she realizes that even though she isn't blood related, she actually was the favored child.

Title The Package
This isn't a drama that is going to rock anyone's world but at 12 episodes, it's a fun, fast and easy to watch drama. Just having one of the leads be a tour guide makes it different from the normal doctor/lawyer/police style drama. I enjoyed all of the story lines as we figure out what is going on with all the tourists. I would say the first episode or two are a bit slow but then it flowed quite well.

I decided to jump into this drama because of the writer. She is a favorite of mine regardless of genre. She always does an excellent job laying the foundation for her dramas and having well rounded characters and solid pacing.

I always think a writer is doing a good job when people comment about how sometimes they like a character and sometimes they are frustrated by the same character. To me this shows the writer is not going for the standard perfect guy or gal but writing characters with flaws like we all have.

Right now I'm enjoying seeing Ji Soo give her new family some grief, begin to see that maybe her non-biological mom wasn't so bad afterall (the coat scene) but, yet, still be totally clueless as to how JiAn at that same time was getting the short end of the stick, "I'll spend less on JiAn's coat". JiSoo has been insulated and spoilt, and yet I like and am frustrated with her at the same time. I think this makes all the characters more interesting.

AM i the only one who skip the big brother and his wife parts ? totally useless!but loving So Ra , the actress…
In family dramas, I think the writers try to throw in cultural struggles like in Five Family it was divorced/single parenting and starting over again. Here I think she is showcasing the young couple struggles wherein the family is on the lower end of the financial spectrum. I've seen the "I can't afford to buy a place so I can't get married" thing in a lot of dramas, most recently This is My First Life.

So I am hit or miss on the young couple struggles. At times I like it and at times it seems redundant to the main story, but I just take it as the writer is making a point of living life as best one can regardless of financial success and to stop trying to keep up with everyone elses expectations. It might not speak much to me as an international viewer but perhaps resonates more in Korea.
