Person Choi Jin Hyuk
Choi Jin Hyuk, You were amazing in "Gu Family Book." (I have watched it twice!) I really loved your hair style! They should use that style more often. Also, the "gumiho" character was perfect for you to play. Even though it is listed as a support role, I always think of that as a main role since the story would have been nothing without you.
Take care and I hope to see you in many more dramas!
PS (You would have been excellent in "Lord of the Rings!"

Too many episodes for me. I've got a feeling of déjà vu at every episode since the 14th. But the acting in general…
I wish it could have been longer. Too short for me. I rated it 9.0

On Kangchi, the Beginning Mar 21, 2018
I watched Gu Family Book a couple of years ago and often think about how much I liked it. It was sooo good that I am watching it again and it probably won't be the last time!
Anyway, I was wondering why they changed the hair style of Gon Yi (the bodygyard) in episode 9. It looked so good in the beginning of the drama. Now it just looks like a futuristic pretty boy's hair instead of something they would have worn in that era--and sorry to say it does not look better.

I watched the English-subbed episodes on youtube (YoYo Television Series Exclusive.)
Good drama, good storyline and actors, beautiful costumes. Music was okay but sometimes irritating (especially with the dings--I kept thinking I was receiving text msgs). The acting was a bit forced, not realistic but interesting. Translation problems--sometimes a bit confusing and odd. Overall worth watching. Beautiful ending. (Just when the drama seems to start slowing down in episodes 30 or so, it does a complete switch and keeps you totally interested until the end of the 45th episode. Loved that--a pleasant surprise. If I had the choice again, I would definitely watch it. I rated this a 7.9 out of 10 because of the directing/filming/realism (not talking about wuxia) and the translation.

If you thought the first “Nirvana in Fire” took Chinese dramas to the next level, you will be totally amazed that this sequel has done as well or better than the first drama. Almost perfect, I rated this 9.5–It’s sooo worth watching!

I saw my first Kdrama ever about 5 years ago on Netflix and have been seriously hooked ever since. I found other sources online and then saw my first amazing Cdrama, “Bu Bu Jing Xin—or the original “Scarlet Heart_1” and the stunning movie “Red Cliff,” —and have found so many excellent Chinese dramas and movies ever since.

I am a native of the U.S. and feel very fortunate to have such wonderful exposure to different Asian and other cultures and history through the art of so many talented people. Many thanks to all.

God the Cdramas that I am tempted to watch are all so long :(
But they are sooo good! Who cares how long they are if every episode keeps you glued to your seat and waiting for the next episode. It’s better than watching a short one that leaves you feeling empty. Totally worth it. Enjoy!

does anyone have recommendations for chinese historical dramas where the girl is either really good at fighting…
You should watch “Princess Agents.” It’s now one of my favorites and amazing strong female character(s). I’m waiting for more! (:

Title The Package
I really liked this drama. The actors and scenery were really good. The ending was good but i thought it was a little weak. There should have at least been some conversation going on to some degree just to make it really solid. I absolutely loved the OST (original sound track)--every song! I hope I can find it somewhere to buy. I will definitely watch this again with friends or by myself. I rated it 9.0 out of 10--Enjoy!

This drama is perfect--flawless. One of the best dramas I have watched. I had my reservations about watching this because there are so many "cutesy" dramas out there that eventually become boring and just one of the "same old stories." But "Go Back Couple" totally blew my expectations out of the water! There are 12 episodes which turned out to be the perfect number--not too few or too many. It was so good in every way. The actors and directing were excellent--without a doubt. The story was interesting and kept moving--so true to real life. I can't say enough good things about "Go Back Couple." It is sincere and funny, and the ending is the best--so unexpected! I love all the characters and now that it is over, I love them even more. I will recommend this drama to all my friends and watch it again (more than once, I'm sure). If you are looking for your next drama to watch, you should definitely try this one. I rated it 10+ Loved it! Enjoy!!

Nice colors, costumes, background but a bit boring and repetitive. I'm not a fan of perfectly holy saint submissive…
She had a lot of fighting spirit and backbone--especially toward the end! But overall she was a calm, level-headed and caring person who always tried to do the right thing. She was never afraid to go against the norms!

I liked this drama. Good Actors, and characters. The scenery was beautiful and the music appropriate and very well done, as were the beautiful costumes of that period. This was a good drama because it was believable and touching . There were several romances that carried through to the end. It was a good ending and a good historical drama mostly about the characters' lives and not focused on large armies and bloody battles in the field. I would recommend watching this--I watched all 47 episodes in about two weeks (a few extra on the weekends). It was better than a couple of others that I tried to get interested in that were just a little too unrealistic (the acting). Enjoy. (This was at least an 8.0 or 8.2)

Okay--I started this drama hoping it would exceed all expectations or at least some of them. I'm almost at the end of episode one. I like the storyline and the actors could be very interesting, but there is something off. It seems like a B rated drama. Maybe it's the directing and/or filming. It doesn't look realistic and the acting seems very unnatural to me. I'm really sorry because I wanted to watch this but I personally know that I will not make it through at this rate--even if it was 20 episodes. Sorry and take care.

I love historical dramas. Can't wait to see this. I'm going to give it a try since I have watched several other long dramas. The good thing is that if you like it, you can enjoy it for a very long time. I always figure that I'm going to be watching something anyway, so I don't really care--as long as it's still holding it's own and I'm enjoying it.

To be honest, I sided with princess chun-er when she was about to kill female lead, but Chun-er had gone Mojojojo…
You should mark this as a spoiler please--for other people. Thanks.

I am guessing chinese version is more detailed. although I have only watched korean version as of yet. Chinese…
All the brothers in this drama were very charismatic (of course, some more than others--we each have our favorites). I thought the "bald heads" seemed very dignified and sooo handsome. But I do like guys who are bald as well as guys with long hair--go figure?! And I love historical dramas. This will always be one of my top favorites.

Korean version? This version ? What to watch, what to expect?
Sorry but they are really totally different dramas even thought there is a somewhat vague similar plot line. Even though I like the actors in the Korean version, there is no real possible comparison. The Chinese Version will always be one of my very favorite historical dramas. There are a couple of very dramatic scenes that are hard to watch, but the storyline and the actors are so amazing--you will be astonished. The cinematography and everything was top notch. I think about this drama often and compare others to it. Sadly, the sequel was not worth watching--I was really hoping it would be. Just pretend there is no sequel--but the first Scarlet Heart Chinese version is epic to me. I have watched it three times in the last few years. It's absolutely a must watch--Enjoy!!

On Because This Is My First Life Feb 15, 2018
I liked this drama in the beginning, but after several episodes sadly it did become rather boring and I was forcing myself to finish it since I really didn't believe that the pace was going to pick up --and it didn't. The actors were cute together but it really was sooo slow. The male lead was too straight faced ALL the time and the female lead was a little better. I found the other character couples actually more interesting. The ending was okay (I didn't hate it), but very predictable and not spectacular for sure. I probably wouldn't watch this again. If you're looking for something faster paced and really interesting I suggest watching "Just Between Lovers." That one held my interest all the way to the end and never got boring. Take care.

Excellent drama. I rated it at least 9.0. I liked it all the way through. Really good actors and storyline. Even though if I had known the storyline before I started watching, I probably would not have seen this because I don't like crying over dramas--but this one was worth it. Great job everyone!

Comment: I also didn't care for the periodic flashbacks as someone else has mentioned, but there weren't too many. Even worse is when Viki.com advertises their translators throughout the episodes while you are trying to watch the drama and also they display credits in the last episode or two. Why not just show the viki credits at the end instead of interrupting the story and emotional climax?! I'm sorry but it's very annoying.
