Oda Naomi and Hattori Kanako, who have good friends since university days, meet again after six months when Naomi is invited to Kanako’s stylish apartment. Naomi is delighted that their homes are nearby. Kanako’s husband Tatsuro, an elite banker, is there and Tatsuro’s elder sister Yoko arrives late. After dinner, Naomi and Kanako are standing in the kitchen preparing dessert. At that moment, Naomi smiles and lightly pats Kanako’s arm. Kanako jumps in pain. Then she freezes and cold sweat forms on her forehead. That vacant expression gives Naomi an indescribable sense of discomfort. The department store that Naomi works for has invited its biggest Chinese customers to a business convention. Naomi’s dream was to become a museum curator, but reality has been harsh. She is now an office lady for the store’s personal shopping service. Her days are spent dealing with customers and performing all sorts of odd jobs. She had heard from her boss Naito Shingo that there would be about 10 customers, but a huge throng of Chinese flood into the venue and confusion ensues. In the middle of this, a luxury watch worth more than 2 million yen gets lost. Naomi realises it was taken away by Li Zhu Mei who runs a Chinese food business. One day, Naomi visits Kanako and is shocked by the obvious swelling and bruise on her face. Kanako, a housewife, tearfully confesses that she was hit by a drunken Tatsuro late last night. Tatsuro has been taking out his job stress on her daily. Naomi cannot bear to see Kanako like this and advises her to divorce him immediately. But Kanako fears retaliation and being killed by her husband. Amid the rage she feels about the misery of a powerless woman controlled by violence, Naomi is at her wits end. When Naomi visits Zhu Mei, her breath catches at the sight of an illegal Chinese immigrant who works for Zhu Mei. He looks just like Kanako’s husband! The perfect crime soon comes to Naomi’s mind and she makes an audacious proposal to Kanako. On the other hand, Yoko starts to suspect the behaviours of Naomi and Kanako

Ayase Haruka/Suzuki Rio as Hoshina Kyoko
A delicate, kindhearted straight-A student. Because of that, she lost out on so much and was deprived of all sorts of things by Sakai Miwa. She and Doi Tomohiko are invaluable to each other. She is the only one who is concerned about Tomohiko who is the target of bullying and always offers a helping hand to him. She accepts her own mission through life at Yoko Gakuen, but in her heart, she is full of weary and resignation.

Mizukawa Asami/Mizuki Sakura as Sakai Miwa
A strong-minded girl whose redeeming feature is her beauty. The female leader of Yoko Gakuen, she is showy about everything. She is always not satisfied unless she is number one. Because of this personality, the friends around her including Hoshina Kyoko are never at ease. Her personality is still the same as an adult and she is avoided by the people around her.

Miura Haruma/Nakagawa Tsubasa as Doi Tomohiko
A cheerful, kind person who does as he likes. However, he gets ridiculed because he is lousy at art and. This makes him lose his temper even more and he is bullied. Hoshina Kyoko is the only one who is concerned about him and she quite naturally becomes someone he relies on. Although he is not skilled with his hands, he is very good at soccer. He meets Kyoko again when they are adults.

Ito Ayumi as Horie Ryuko
A newly-appointed teacher at Yoko Gakuen. She is friendly and enthusiastic. She aspired to take up a post at the school because she admired the education philosophy of the principal Kamikawa Emiko, but as she learns about the reality of Yoko Gakuen, her conflict grows … … She is in charge of health and physical education and good at soccer. Through soccer, she extends a helping hand to Doi Tomoiko who is being bullied.

Komoto Masahiro as Yamasaki Jiro
A good teacher who the picture of cheerfulness and kindness. He is popular in the school and Sakai Miwa also admires him. The advisor of the art club. He accepts the school’s principles and system. As the principal Kamikawa Emiko’s right-hand man, he is zealous about making these happen.

Matobu Sei as Madam

Aso Yumi as Kamikawa Emiko
The dignified principal and manager of Yoko Gakuen. Her management and education philosophy is noble and widely known. She constantly has a gentle smile and a serene expression. She is adored by the students because of her very kind image. She deeply understands their “mission” and provides the necessary education to fulfil it.

Sadly, the movie is as ridiculous as its title! Slow, dry, boring... Utter waste of the talent of all involved…
I had to watch this for Son Ye Jin, as i have seen ALL her movies so far.
Sadly, it wasn't as exciting as I wanted it to be, quite mediocre I'd say. Not a complete waste of time, but if you thought you'd miss something great, rest assured this film is not a must see. 5.5/10 from me

Cast
Kutsuna Shiori as Kamogawa Koishi
The head of Kamogawa Investigation Bureau which adjoins Kamogawa Shokudo. She gets all sorts of information out from clients who come in search of “food with memories” and helps her father Nagare’s research. At times, she will also go out for research. She has doubts about her father regarding her late mother who ran away from home.

Iwashita Shima as Kurusu Tae
A teacher of etiquette and a regular customer of Kamogawa Shokudo. She always shows up in a kimono and gives the diner a lively atmosphere. Because she used to be the proprietress of a traditional Japanese restaurant, she is more fussy about how food tastes than other people. She understands Kamogawa Nagare well and at the same time, she is also Koishi’s confidant.

Hagiwara Kenichi as Kamogawa Nagare
Kamogawa Koishi’s father. He honed his skills at a top traditional Japanese restaurant in his youth, but became a detective after that. He searches for “food with memories” by making use of his experience of that time. Although his clients provide few clues, he makes effort to recreate meals with all his heart. He seldom talks to Koishi about his late wife Kikuko.

Yoshizawa Hisashi as Fukumura Hiroshi
A sushi chef nearby and a regular customer of Kamogawa Shokudo. He has hidden feelings for Kamogawa Koishi, but her response is not very clear. His elderly father holds open the sushi shop in his hometown of Kanazawa and eagerly looks forward to his return.

Zaizen Naomi as Kamogawa Kikuko
Kamogawa Nagare’s ex-wife. She patiently supported him during his days as a detective and brought up Koishi. She died of illness several years ago and now watches over Koishi’s growth from the household altar.
