Korean version? This version ?
What to watch, what to expect?
Thanks guys :)
I started two other dramas for now so I'll come back here when I need to decide wether to watch this version or the Korean one! So far I'm leaning towards this version but we'll see ~
Read a few comments about this being more about friendship and family love + the love triangle being frustrating.…
Nope, honestly it starts out as your average teenager-targeted fluffy romance, but then it's seriously more about politics and family drama, you literally forget the title "the King in Love"
The "love story" is just something around which the writers decided to base the drama, but it really is less than a background story.
To some of you who still misunderstand that San liked Won romantically after seeing the whole episodes: Yoona…
It's not really about the chemistry, it's really the writers who did a poor job on this one. I was 99% sure she'd end up with Won, but just because he was the main lead. Not because she clearly showed more affection towards any of the two.
I loved the ending. Won was finally sane again and San chose to stay with Rin, and Won let them go. Sad for Won…
I didn't feel like San really wanted to go with Won though ? Just like they had no other choice.
The problem with this dramas is that you get to be in Won's head, you get to be in San's head, but you never know what's going on in San's mind. Not a single clue as to whom she loved, if she even felt anything more than "affection" towards any of the two friends.
Started slow, typical romance drama for teenagers who have nothing else to do on a long summer holiday, got exciting, then I had to stop watching halfway for a few weeks bc life, considered dropping, 30mn in and I'm already hooked again, then it gets really exciting, then it gets REALLY REALLY exciting, then you start shedding tears and wondering where the fluff of the beginning went and how the heck did it get so serious, then it's the last two episodes and they're not as exciting as the previous ones, BUT still good, add some hardly-noticeable plot holes, lots of tears, a twist or two, tears again and I won't spoil the ending, you get an undeniably good drama, definitely worth a watch wether you like the cast (who did GOOD), or the initial story, or more tragic historical dramas..
This went from a 7.5 to a 9 in a few months (to me. And while it wasn't completely worth a 9, I felt 8.5 wouldn't do it justice. I think most people who rated it lower than that probably didn't like the ending)
