The lady doctor isn't even a proper character in the story. What on earth will they run away for?
I think the pretty lady doctor is a very critical and important character in this drama. But she is still a mystery. So I was speaking tongue in cheek, not literal. I have NO IDEA what the pretty lady doctor is to ML. I know she was counseling him. As a doctor or as his lover too? He was eating her with his eyes as she was doctoring him.... He was coming home late without wedding ring... BUT ... We do not know anything for sure. . But she is definitely someone important bc I am sure that ML means a lot to her, she was so worried about him and ML's "friend" doctor was super concerned about that, I would say, jealous, which made me think pretty lady doctor liked ML as a man.
A lot of things are unknown! like what Chairman is doing at the hospital, what MLs "friend" doctor is doing with the Chairman, why that other doctor was trying to kill his patient, what is the role of the pretty lady doctot, where was ML spending his evenings without the wedding ring, etc etc etc etc etc etc

Although he and his wife seem to have some feelings - based on the last ep - still, his wife is lukewarm at best, she did NOT try to defend him and just went along with her family and watched him being whisked to jail Plus her Dad and she refusing service to ill people bc VIPs had to have preferential treatment was totally inhumane NASTY EVIL Plus wgatever illegal stuff Dad is doing with the hospital, plus all the nasty Dad did to ML. I want ML to just RUN from that family. With or without the pretty lady doctor lmao I am not sure who she is to him, but in any case, he gotta RUN from that evil family

No I did not even try idol dramas specifically bc I am so not interested in that. "regular" cdramas have some idol-like actors. I tried watching that drama which got criticized by Chinese military -recent one very popular historical drama. Omg that was TRASH
And I tried watching historical and modern cdramas and they are all terrible. The only decent one was Bond but it is just like the rest, it is just reciting life as it goes along, without any meaningful character growth and problem solving. It was educational to see how they lived, but I havent learned one thing from that drama. And that was the best I saw from China.
EXCEPT some really amazing stuff, like movie Xuan Zhang, 2016. I also like Making Family c-k drama, and everything from Stephen Chow - he is Hong Kong so there is slightly more room for fun but definitely, it is very clear that he cannot step on sooooo many toes... That is the problem with Chinese-based stuff, everything in their culture is based on connections and corruption, so even "free" countries like Hong Kong or Taiwan cannot poke any fingers at anything really

Well imo cdramas are a lot worse ... I tried watching so many and I just dislike them. They have the feel of a military parade or Shen Yun circus - so serious, flashy scenes, no humor, no dialogues, no character growth, no jestering, no social issues, terrible fake acting, so many identically looking plastic surgeries, and everything made to look white or Korean or ... just fake. I cannot stand cdramas. I can see why - China is clamped down. Once in a blue moon, I find a good cdrama/movie and then it is WOW!!!! I like all Stephen Chow movies from Hong Kong
