Most bittersweet revenge schemed by the irresistible Male Lead!

Wang YiLei is amongst those very charismatic actors that are leading 2025 of Vertical Dramas. I mean his sharp eyes, cat alike swiftness and the graceful body sturcture tied to how absolutely beautiful of a male creature he is,ahhh my my how he took my breath away! I love the roles he is given lately, and the amount of depth layered in his acting.

The deep soothed hatred towards the people who killed his family did not take his soul away from him, alas he falls in love with his prey and heroine early on. The way he stalked her in that bathroom..without a shirt on WILL FOREVER BE IMPRINTED IN MY MIND!KYAAAAA

I am obsessed with Zheng Hui!

I mean, i totally salivated over him in "The Prince is too Wild" which i rated top stars. "Stealing Beauty" is about a tormented jewelry designer who lives under hiding and control of her boyfriend of eight years. She makesjewelry designs for his company and mistress, serving as a slave for him under the impression that he saved her father and will marry her one day. She wasted eight years on a scum like him. She was in such a terrible environment and relationship that the ML had to take drastic measures to take her out of that predicament on his return. He used coersion and seduction, but the best of all he helped her realize what a beauty and rare talent she has and helped her with her self-esteem. But, he also needed her to make some decisions for herself as well, so when she failed to do that he was rightly hurt and disappointed. I love however, the way he showed her what a faithless and immoral piece of junk her supposed boyfriend is, and kept on seducing her in the dark. So satisfying!

Now "The House Arrest of Us" is a whole unique project and such a good idea to create at the right time, since it takes place during lockdown year 2020 which was a hard year for all of us. The beloved filipino love-team Kathryn Bernardo & Daniel Padilla portrays a long-time couple of three years who decides to get engaged, the rich and smart Quincess "Q" and the handsome and golden-hearted Korics. They didn`t expect that their families would dislike each other so badly that their engagement threatened to get annuled but the chance comes when both families must stay under one roof during lockdown, becaue of the threat of covid-19. We get many funny situations and troubles to solve, and in the central of it all Q and Korics struggle to make their relationship work with all the obstacles, fears and doubts between them.

I love the opening song sung by Daniel Padilla and how the whole cast dance together, adds much charm and humor to the series.I loved and enjoyed all 13 episodes and find myself so lucky that i found the english subtitles for it. Charm, humor, romance and tears! This Digi Movie series offers it all. Kathryn looks so stunning with her yellow top and Daniel goddamn gorgoues with his outfits,he brought much charm to Korics character and i absolutely adore the whole cast.Everyone portrayed their characters so well and everyone got the spotlight they deserved! Will defenitely re-watch "The House Arrest of Us" again and i 100% recommend it to everyone who wants to watch something over the top, funny and so romantic!

"Must Be Love" actually started KathNiel`s ( Kathryn & Daniel) trend of being the King and Queen of breaking movie box office records in Phillipines and took their stardom to another level. This movie is definitely more youth oriented, but still leaves a important message about self-love. Kathryn and Daniel are both TERRIFIC actors and co-stars!Their chemistry is MAGICAL and they always make me swoon. They took the friends-to-lovers trope on a whole another level about the child-hood bestfriends Patchot and Ivan.Patchot is the one who first relizes that she have loved him all along and it will take time for the charming Ivan to realize that his beloved bestfriend always have been his dream girl. But...love indeed makes you blind sometimes.

I absolutely loved watching Liza Soberano on-screen,she looks so beautiful! I also know she starred as the second female lead again in "Got To Believe" which is another KathNiel starrer. So glad she gets the female lead roles now!Again,i adored this movie. It is lovely, funny and so romantic!Absolutely love the dance sequences with Ivan and Patchot-simply magical!

Left me Flabbergasted, Shocked and Spellbound!

*********
Wang Xiao Yi & LuShan Dong are FIREWORKS IN NEED OF DESTRUCTION! I mean to watch these two actors absolutely live up their characters was something that threw me off, because i did not expect what they would give me on this DARK, DARK OF A JOURNEY! How the hell did they do it!!!??? I bingewatched She is My Love Cage in one freekin go on Youtube and have been waiting for it to be uploaded here on MDL. Because this is a masterpiece done right in my book.

When you seek to draw in an audience craving a real dark romance where the ML borders on being the Villian and the Female heroine never backing away from his deathly grace, you need to show your cards right in every direction. LuShan`s performance as the Gang Leader Rong Ming is the epitome of distaste, hatred and violence. He seeks to destroy the one woman who infiltrated his Organization, but did not expect for her to be the Light to his Darkness. Eventually, he fell fast and hard. I mean i could not blame Shen Ning for being so wary of him, he was literally about to throw her to the Wolves, and she was afraid of what he stood for. These two on-screen together folks, YUM! When Rong Ming kissed her like he needed to breathe...the way he held her in fury & passion. So freekin sexy! I just can`t unsee it! Stole my heart and never gave it back to me!

Vehement Transactional Toxic Realtionship-In its core two soulmates falling for one another.

I remember reading old-school Harlequins with a trope like this with FL being ML´s live in mistress-him giving her anything for full access to her body- except for giving her his heart. LuYu Chen is a hero that once you sees that he truly cares for his heroine, while in his passionate pursuit of her, that nothing is quite as it seems. He is a man who is caged by a sworn duty to his parents in the name of his older brother who died in the past. He does not live his life for himself, the upcoming engagement he has with SFL is only a neccesary chore for him. Although eventually, in hurting his heroine, he only hurt himself.

Despite thinking she may not love him, he should deep down know that she is not a woman who would ever willingly be anyone`s mistress (even if money was involved) if her heart was not involved. The sweetly way they treated each other, the way he held her hand, the way he could NOT STOP kissing her in any scenes whatsoever. I mean, you could see through his eyes how he found her utterly desirable! I find LiZi Jie a terrific gorgeous actor, this is my second Vertical i have finished starring him!

"Luk Mai Klai Ton" (which means: "The Fruit Falls Far from the Tree") has been said by many hardcore lakhorn lovers to be a MasterPiece of a kind.I have to 100% agree on that. Its gold hidden amongst the gold these days, and it has everything worth experiencing for a lakhorn lover. The directing, acting and writing and production is top-notch. It is so incredibly done that you live in this world and experience all the motions through life together with these characters. Everything starts with two important occurrence in this story, which involves two very powerful Diamond companies and these occurrences happens in the head families household. In one family the father rapes his servant, and in the other family the fathers`s wife leaves him for another man, leaving him alone with his two sons. The brothers Chanon and Apirak are left deeply traumatized by this incident, especially the oldest brother Chanon who becomes the mother and father for Apirak. Back to the other family, the mans rape produces a child, our heroine Rasa (starring Kob Kob Suvanant) whose mother tells her on her deathbed who her real father is and reveals that he is a rich man who raped her when she worked in his house. Rasa is furious with grief and decides to marsch into his company and force him to go to her mothers corpse and beg for apology. Her problem however is that no one believes her, especially his handsome and brooding future son-in-law Chanon ( starring Andrew Gregson) who after his mothers abandonement hates and distrusts all women. Chanon comes to hate Rasa even more when she befriends his naive brother Apirak who falls madly in love with her. In the center in this whole sad tale of betrayal, sacrifice, hope, a blooming flower of desire and love will erupt between the two very passionate characters of Chanon and Rasa, from the very brewing war of wills that started between them. This is a trainwreck on a whole another level without even being dramatic. We get to learn, we get to cry, and we get to love this master piece.

Kob Suvanant can play any role she gets, and she nailed it perfectly with Rasa`s character. Rasa is a passionate individual with great self-respect and dignity and has such a great stubborness everyone around her had to admire. She fought for her father to accept her as his daughter..and for him to repent for his crime towards her mother. She is a stunning lady and i admired her for it! We also get to see Chompoo Araya A. Hargate play the role of Sasikarn, the biological sister of Rasa who also is Chanon`s fiance-to-be. My gosh how young she was in this lakhorn and what a great talent she had in such a early stage of acting. Wichaya Jarujinda stars in his first role as the carefree and goofy Apirak,Chanon`s younger brother who at all means chases after Rasa from the start and blindly falls for her on first sight. For many viewers Apirak is thought of selfish and weak and dramatic...he was all that from the start but he undergoes such a great character developement who learns patience and understanding and tries to put himself in Chanon`s shoes for once. One of my favourite aspects in this lakhorns was the brotherhood between Chanon and Apirak. Both are so different, but their love and adoration for each other are fierce. Chanon is the man in the household, he is the boss, he has the brains and the strength to carry out their company while Apirak always stays in his shadow.

Andrew Gregson stole my heart ever since i first watched him in "Tang Parn Kammathep" where he blew my mind away from his incredible performance. In "Luk Mai Klai Ton" he plays the tortured leading hero Chanon who refuses to step down from his principles. Everyone around him keeps telling him he is heartless and cold...but deep down he is always the one hurting the most. He is a man who will keep the tears in to stay strong for his family. He always has been the solid rock and caretaker of the family ever since his mother left them for another man. The way Andrew Gregson performed was MAGNIFICENT and his way of acting really reminds me of the way the movie icon James Dean acted in his movies.Andrew Gregson has the dynamic on-screen presence that demands attention and i couldn`t keep my eyes away from him!He was clearly the head star in this lakhorn for me. I love how he hated his attraction for Rasa and i also love how he finally explodes and succumbs to it.That scene was so powerful that i simply swooned!Andrew and Kob definitely has one of the most powerful on-screen chemistry i have ever seen and its such a shame they never starred in more lakhorns together!

I recommend this lakhorn to everyone. It delivers a powerful message of you reap what you sow and that every deed has its consequences that can come back and bit you in the future. It also clearly show the picture of reality in the way it presents the older days in Thailand`s society-between the higher class and the under class. One thing i have to mention is that this lakhornhas not finished english subtitles, the first 17 episodes are subbed, so there are 3 episodes left for them to finish subbing.I have watched so many lakhorns that i understand much of thai language these days so i had no problem understanding. This lakhorn also has a strong dialuge and every character was needed for this story,no scene for me was unnecessary and everyone delivered A-class performances.I can say without hesitation that this has become one of the best lakhorns i have ever seen and trust me,i have seen many!

I watched for Wang Xuan...gahhh this man!

This drama starts off very hot and amazing and does keep that way until the second part where everything gets to telenovela-ish. The initial plot is very exciting though, FL seduces the man her father sets her out to seduce and don`t remember the night afterwards. So when she goes to the Shadow Reaper, the infamous racedriver for help in wrecking her coming marriage wedding, she doesn`t know HE IS THE MAN SHE SEDUCED AND SPENT HER NIGHT WITH. So our ML is enraged by her attitude and in turn he proposes a deal for her to be his servant until the wedding date. Their chemistry is lovely, ML is very smitten and possessive...the way he pursued her took my breath away! His devilish smile by the way, yummm!

Felt like reading a Harlequin Romance!!

This was a fine love-story!Second chance of love is one of my fave tropes in romance genre! Filled with longing and tension!! The sensual quality of forbidden longing, a very insistent and in love Male Hero who pursues his heroine passionately! My first time seeing the actors portraying the main characters on-screen and the chemistry is so fine that i am not surprised they have several more mini-dramas together. The actress portraying the heroine is so doll alike and beautiful!

Revenge has never tasted sweeter...

"Love Trap Limerence" follows the story of past lovers separated by a bitter betrayal. The heroine Jiang Yao is a secret agent to a organisation that wanted the demise of the powerful warlord Chi Yan Zhou`s father and it resulted in his death. Chi Yan Zhou comes back more powerful than ever, in his thirst for revenge towards the one and only woman who has ever owned his heart.

The plot, dialuge , OST , the chemistry and the visuals. I loved it. Zi Xian is so handsome and talented, a fine charismatic hero for the screen and the way his character could not keep his hands off his heroine was a DELIGHT to watch. My first time seeing the actress portraying the heroine and she did a fine job as well. Loved her figure by the way, she had fine curves! The agony and longing was so clearly felt through the screen between these two. It was quite heartbreaking actually, when he asked her with tears running down his eyes if she ever truly did love him all those years ago.

"Growing Up" is the tv-drama that started the whole KathNiel love-team fandom in the Philippines.I could not find it anywhere with eng subs, so i still watched it raw because it only had 24 episodes and i am a BIG FAN of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.According to them (in their interviews) shooting for Growing Up was one of the greatest experiences in their lives,it is also at that time they started to fall in love with each other in real life, which also lead to Daniel starting to pursue Kathryn right after they finished this tv-series.Ah,so romantic! They were so young in this series, and so adorable!

Growing Up reminds me of those coming of age summer beach tv-series that usually airs here on Sweden`s child channels on the summers. It is about Sun Spikers, a volley ball club hat involves six high-school students that makes us follow up in their lives where they dream, fall in love, get heartbroken, learn how to forgive and trying to accept the mistakes people make around you. The friendship and deep bond Sun Spikers had was incredible. How they helped and supported each other through everything during the series just made my heart touched. The highlight of this tv-series is WITHOUT A DOUBT the characters, the head-strong Ella and the rich arrogant Patrick (portrayed by Kathryn & Daniel)...both always argue with each other despite secretly loving each other, absolutely adorable! So many cute unforgettable moments between them to re-watch!

When i saw a movie recommendation on Youtube with the title "She's Dating the Gangster" i thought it would be another cheesy romantic comedy (since i have seen a lot of philippine youth movies) but darn it.It actually surprised me since it was MORE THAN THAT! It is such a lovely, beautiful, smart and heartbreaking love-story that makes you shed hundred of tears by the end. It was my first time watching Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo on-screen and wow what a GREAT chemistry they have! And both portrayed their characters perfectly! Their characters Athena and Kenji are to die for, i love how selfless they are and how Kenji becomes the man he was supposed to be by the end....but deep down he will always be Athena`s gangster. As we all young woman would wish for our own gangster someday.

"Mai Muang" is a old thai drama from 1999 which stars Andrew Gregson and Benz Pornchita in their younger years. It can`t be found anywhere with english subtitles so i watched it raw on Youtube. It was worth it. The production clearly didn`t rely on ratings making this lakhorn but really wanted to show the reality in humanity through the social classes, especially when it came to male modelling business where famous model Boo Rajit (played by Lek Aisoon) gets into an affair with a much older rich lady who has a grand daughter named Mai (played by Benz) who hates him with her every being, knowing he is a gold-digger and using her grandmother for her money. It doesn`t get better when Boo Rajit`s only son,the handsome and golden-hearted Charan (played by Andrew) also moves in after his mother dies in a car accident.Mai tries to figure out a way to kick the father and son out while Boo Rajit tries to use Charan for his own benefits and always manipulates him to do what he wants.

I have to say, this is not a love-story and barely has any romance. In fact both main-leads spend much more time with other people on-screen which could be frustrating at times because things got so much more interesting in their every interaction. There was so much hatred and disgust oozing out of Mai already from the start towards Charan that there is this huge wall between them that never got broken until the end.Andrew brought out a charm in the character of Charan who is a person that despite suffering from loneliness and despair always tried to find positive things in life.Benz is such a terrific actress and conveyed the emotions of such a complex heroine as Mai so well.Living rich but being a orphan and having a grandmother only obsessed with younger men was a strain for Mai who found it easier to get hot-tempered and illogical instead. She has the best character developement where life keeps throwing obstacles in her path for her to find her true self.

Watching this lakhorn i could feel how sad it went along the second half because in this story both Charan and Mai are victims of such terrible deceit that it almost destroyed them.In many ways this must be one of the most angsty lakhorns i have ever watched since it explore so many topics like abortion, prostitution, exploitation, trauma, abandonement and the whole cast managed to act out all those emotions of sadness, heartbreak and torment so well.A lakhorn of the slice of life genre,it brought many tears out of me.

I must say that i am proud that i finished the 1998 version of "Sawan Biang" without any translation at all, starring the real-life married couple Brook Danuporn as the notorious Anti-hero/villain Kawee Worawat and Kob Suvanant as the headstrong Narin.Having also wathed the 2008 version starring Ken & Anne,i also compared both versions a lot and it was easy to pick a favourite one. The 2008 version clearly seals the deal since its one of my top 10 most favourite lakhorn ever...but i still like the natural flowing performances from Brook and Kob and thewhole cast-they did a terrific job!

I absolutely LOVEEEE the story of "Sawan Biang" (wish i also could read the novel)and its main-characters.I remember the 2008 version starting my addiction of lakhorns years ago and i haven`t been cured since. This older version have a different kind of directing. It has this gloomy and gothic element to it with a much depressing but also hauntingly beautiful OST.It doesn`t shy away from showing how flawed all the characters are and how much of a broken victim Narin becomes-in a almost stronger way than in the 2008 version.Brook`s performance as Kawee started off really strong in the earlier episodes,he have this swaggy but cold introduction when he enters his step-mothers funeral. He is a hateful creature, but seems to be empty of loneliness at times.Ken`s characterization of Kawee had a added charm of sexual innuendo, whereas Brook`s version of Kawee simply ozzes with barbaric shallowness with no empathy at all.More so with the way he brutally rapes Narin-how that scene made me uncomfortable and how awful it was to see how it almost broke Narin`s soul.It made it even more horrible because Kawee had never kidnapped her in this version but had calculatedly planned to rape her-and in doing that he drugged all the servants so that no one would help her.THAT IS A MONSTER!Narin was the one person who always stood toe to toe against Kawee and considered him dirt beneath her feet-because she knew what a cold-hearted monster he was from her first sight of him.I hate what she had to go through..and i hate it even more that she got together with him in the end.I also don`t like how friendly Kawee got with Leela near the end since Kawee in the 2008 version would rather cut his hand off than ever sincerely smile at Leela-HE DESPISED HER THAT MUCH even when they had a truce!Well this seems to be the case of if Narin is happy-then we all are happy!

"I´ve been lost in the dark side of the moon for so long...but lucky me,today i get to see how beautiful the bright side of the moon is. .- "Ae" Thanakim
***
"Lhong Ngao Jun" (which mean " Enchanted Moon") is a old-school thai lakhorn i have had my eyes on for a very long time before i decided to sit down to watch it.It stars the wonderful veteran actress Kob Suvanant as the demure and goodhearted "Pim" Pimchanok who becomes the victim of "Ae" Thanakim`s revenge played by Stephan Tasit. Her natural beauty and deep core patience and calmness enchants Ae`s souldeep anger and turns it into love.He mistakes her for being the woman who broke his friends heart and caused him to die on a car accident while driving drunk-never even suspecting that she has a evil younger sister Khem who is the real culprit and whose life reason is to cause every trouble for Pim.
***
"I have no right to love anyone, but i do have the right not to love you"
-"Pim" Pimchanok to Ae
***

So many aspects of this plot reminded me of "Ngao Asoke" especially with how sacrificial Pim was when it came to her happiness-she was willing to beg Ae to marry her sister so her relationship with her family would be peaceful, full well knowing that Ae loves her and not Khem. One more thing i found familiar was how Ae was after her THE WHOLE TIME!First he followed her around to terrorize her and destroy her life to pieces but that need of violence and revenge slowly dies down when Pim hits him with a rock after he forcefully kissess her. With a bloody face he drives away from there and get stuck in a car accident and wakes up with half his body paralyzed.Because of her guilt Pim takes care of him those 6 months and helps him recover. I thought it wonderful how devoted and smitten Ae is towards her and gets jealous of every other man around her-even his own bestfriend P`Kim,LOL.

I wish this lakhorn could have been directed and edited better. Some scenes are cut down in middle of conversations which frustrated me at times. There are some scenes that are done very well.Love how the hospital Pim works in are organized in a very realistic way.I also came to fall for Ae`s bestfriend P´Kim (have seen the actor in many other lakhorns)..and how he mocked lakhorns although they were living in one themselves. There is also the beginning scene i find very endearing when Ae,P´Kim and their now dead friend Thip drove bicycles when they were little boys and met the very young Pim who fetches her nursing bag to help the hurt little Thip-all the three boys thought she was an angel,LOL.That scene was so adorable, and i found it more adorable that Ae as a child still looked into her garden every day after that just to look for her..but she had already moved away at that point. It makes it even more ironic that their fates get sealed into a pact of revenge a decade later.

***
"Sometimes loving someone with all your heart is enough" - Ae`s mother
